Is that official?? I must be so very isolated. After the unfortunate events during the code rebase with the stoffu versus the Aevengers situation, I stopped going to the Aeon subbreddit. It is the official GUI wallet for AEON. There is also a funding system for anyone to open a proposal on at https://aeonfunding.com/ There are also a few other projects being discussed on the subreddit as well. It seems to be the hub for communication lately as the IRC channel is locked to registered users only (thanks to freenode spammers) and AEON having little to no other outlets for discussion (aside from a Discord I recently setup). IRC should be unlocked now (freenode spamming is reduced, or at least has switched to DMs) @bbc.reporter, the GUI releases have been announced here as well. For example:

@smooth. Hehe I must have missed it or unconciously ignored it. I was satisfied in using the command line before in the old software, and I also have stopped running my node after the hard fork. Sorry.
The price of Aeon has not been so encouraging.

@smooth. How much bigger is Monero's blockchain versus Aeon's blockchain? I reckon Aeon might be in a better position for the longterm because it is more sustainable to run on dedicated hardware because of the smaller blocks.
Much, much bigger, I don't know the exact numbers but roughly a factor of 10 would be my guess. This is not only from the higher usage but from a enormous size of RingCT transactions until bulletproofs get activated. It was when RingCT was enabled that the blockchain size really exploded (the rate of growth instantly jumped from about 100 MB per month to 1+ GB per month). Continuing this discussion. If Aeon had the same amount of transactions as Monero, how much larger would Monero's blocks be? Would it be 5x larger? Also, how much larger would Aeon blocks be if it had the same amount of transactions as bitcoin?

@bbc.reporter I don't have stats on things like average or typical tx size for AEON because we don't have a chain explorer with stats like moneroblocks.info afaik. However, a typical (1->2 or 2->2) AEON transaction seems to be about 2 KB and for Monero it is 13 KB, so a factor of 6.5x. For bitcoin it seems to be something like 300-500 bytes, although it is hard to measure these days because so many transactions are exchange to exchange (or similar) and end up getting aggregated into huge payout transactions. Thus you end up with things like full blocks consisting of 1000 tx or even fewer (avg >1 KB each). This isn't representative of what it would look like if people were actually using the coin for something other than trading.
Anyway, going with 500 bytes, that would make AEON 4x bigger than BTC and Monero 6.5x bigger than AEON. Monero and AEON will likely be similar once both have activated bulletproofs (around 80% reduction from the current Monero size I'm told, but I've also seen some different numbers so I'm not sure that is actually exactly right). That would make both Monero and AEON txs about 20% smaller than AEON is now, still around 3x bigger than BTC

With a modern blockchain, I believe the AEON project has been very well developed. But is the security of the project tight? Is there a guarantee that no hacker can penetrate?

Miners secure the network as in any PoW coin. You can make 51% attack and cheat an exchange or someone if you are able to get enough hash power for few hours. But usually people lose crypto by not storing their private key properly. If you have best security in your house. bars on windows, bulletproof doors. But if you place your front door key outside on the driveway, then anyone can get into your house.

Found a critical vulnerability in Monero, this vulnerability applies to all currencies similar in structure. Until developers fix, all coins will not be available for input and output on exchanges. It may take months, it all depends on the qualification of the developer.

Well I must sadden you that AEON is available to trade on https://tradeogre.com/exchange/BTC-AEON and https://hitbtc.com/AEON-to-BTC That is 2/3 of all possible exchanges Of course we do need more of them for AEON. Oh and that bug you are talking about was of course fixed months before it was announced in May.

Monero and, I am sure, Aeon have already fixed the bug. You should go to the other Cryptonote coins and the other Monero forks' developers, who some of them are very incompetent, and warn them. If you are here to spread the FUD, then it is not working hehe.

@AngryWhiteWolf. They are possibly testing the patch more rigorously before making deposits and withdrawals available again. Which is good because that would imply they are very careful.
Also, they might be working very closely with some Monero developers because some Monero wallets are also offline in many exchanges.
