Many thanks!. ps/ Need to investigate reasons why attaching addresses in message body is forbidden BTW - not sure if that's correct - I can only start remote harvesting - not local... is ithis due to testnet ?

You need to have a balance for a certain number of hours (maybe 10? maybe 24? I forget exactly) before you can start harvesting.

dEVS ITS time you set a date for Launch. please The date has been scheduled long time ago by an event, not with an exact date. That event being: "when beta will be properly tested". Besides that, we need one important feature, without which we DON'T want to launch. That is something we're working on currently. something makes me smile inside

Besides that, we need one important feature, without which we DON'T want to launch. That is something we're working on currently. So, let's test properly and properly we should. I guess the important feature is multisig which is not in the current beta. Yes, test that in the beta as well. I don't care if it is Christmas or not. The community must help in testing. If they tested all these in the Alpha stage, all these beta issues wouldn't have been issues today. So, the community should do their part and not just press for when it should be released. It will never be released if it is not tested properly and I think that should be the case! I guess the dev should just say this, don't blame us. Ask yourselves when you want the release. If it is soon, better test more!! As Kody said, we only have one shot at this and it better be a bull's eye.

Hello, I have a problem with the beta. A few days ago, I installed the latest beta from this topic : https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2635The wallet synced after a few minutes, and everything was fine. I didn't let the browser open because after a few hours, it crashed and the chrome process (i'm using chrome) becomes unkillable by the windows task manager. But yesterday I reopened it, and for an unknown reason, NIS cannot synced past the block 1950, when I'm pretty sure it was at least in the 10k+ range 4 days ago. Today I have the same problem, NIS is stuck at block 1950 and even after a few hours, nothing's moving. Any advice ? Is there anywhere an equivalent to the block chain data that I could delete to make NIS sync from block 0 ? Edit : found this very interesting post : https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2635.msg8834#msg8834Following all the steps seems to have solved my problem The browser still crash after a few hours opened on the wallet page though.

I believe the blockchain data is in: C:\Users\<your_username_here>\nem\nis\data If you shut down NEM, delete everything there, then restart it should re-sync.

I had to sell a little to cover some bills and the dumps in nxt meant I got way less than I wanted. Ps. Take a look at "dorcs" asset.. Sell order/wall getting pulled 14th(tomorrow). Cool project. wow...thanks for telling me its tomorrow...I have been checking on that too ...but my only concern that it could take a long time to get up and running?

I was one of the first ~10 detonators/investors to the project back in Feb/March.. Only found out a couple weeks back I got sent assets for the donation. Thank God I keep all my passphrases for old accounts for exactly that reason haha They have a video released too of the game play.. Very early stage though.. Now NXT's price has decresed also in DGEX ... about -20% in a week. This https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/price-speculation/14160/ is probably the most active (or interesting) NXT thread ... over 700 pages since March 2014.

For the record, I have been doing a lot of toying with NIS on small VMs and I wouldn't do anything less than 512MB for the folks considering Pi, just my 2 cents. On a long enough time line you get plenty of objects in memory in your JVM after chatting with lots of nodes for a while . Btw, for those of you running standalone, there is small (but messy) readme.txt inside. There's option to change cache size for db, and in start scripts there are options to change heap size for JVM.

Does it mean that by changing this setting we can limit the memory usage of NIS?! When I was running NIS it took about 1.15 GB of memory which is too much if I want to install it on a small VPS. The NCC took about 0.35 GB of memory. All together was behaving very good and was very stable as I have 3GB of memory on my computer. Congratulations to the developers you did very nice job I'm pleased. The only concern that I have is that the database data is already at about 190 MB and and the chain block height is not that big is only about 35000 blocks. So the database size looks big already for the amount of blocks. This could increase exponentially very fast if NEM gets wide adoption.

I have been running the Nem software successfully for a while now, and wondered - what does the 'Remote Harvesting' do?
- Harvesting itself requires your private key (obviously, to sign blocks)
- We wanted a way to harvest on a remote node in a secure manner
- (cpt. obvious mode) It would be quite unwise to send your key to some third party :>
- In order to do that (harvest on some remote node) you must "activate remote harvesting"
- Then you can setup some remote node in settings, and start remote harvesting on that node (ofc most public nodes won't let you do that)
Between 4 and 5 you need to wait for 1440 blocks before it will become active. There's also great technical analysis made by rigel: https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2652.msg8904#msg8904
