One of my S3 temperature shows as 0 (for both chain 1, 2). How do I resolve this?
I tried to restart, reboot and nothing helped.
Have a look inside the ant miner see if the sensor is actually connected to the board or try removing and re applying it. Make sure unit is turned off when doing this. If it is then you could try firmware update flash with image then reset to see if it comes on if it don't then this looks more of a faulty sensor if none of the above resolves the problem then looks like possible rma. I have the identical problem. Crazy, could you be more specific where this sensor is connected? Should we be looking for something that is just connected up using a couple of wires? I have had a look at mine well the S1 looking at the board seems to be a little chip as i cant see any wires on it that are used like in one i provided so must be directory soldiered to the board where the chips are. |

The huge amount of discards and so low accepted then thats because they are the opposite? discards = accepted and accepted = discards?
I'll repeat because this message seems to keep getting forgotten Ignore discards!They have nothing to do with hashrate, share acceptance, efficiency or anything else of any relevance today. They are an internal value which was only of relevance in the getwork era. Trying to optimise this value is futile, and lowering the value achieves nothing. It annoys the crap out of me that it was ever displayed in these standalone devices because people get hung up about it and it is of zero relevance. CK laying down the LAW!!! "Note to self: don't mention anything about discards around CK. LOL, thank you again for your advice. Got it and set mine back to original settings. Anybody want to start a pool on how many pages it takes before it is brought up all over again? |

Has anyone received their refund yet? I mean we had an hour to pay, They've had weeks.. An ETA would be nice @Bitmain
Refunds  what on earth for. Unless I missed something was Bitmain refunding for prices or something on offer for units ? or people just asking for refund of unit? Yes, you definitely missed something. Since the miners were performing below the initially advertised hashrates, buyers were given the option for a 7.7% refund or 10% coupons. Coupons are issued but the refunds aren't yet. Ah luckly I have not bought any yet was thinking to buy but with the sha diff on coins going at stupid increases am looking more on the scrypt side of things shortly or maybe wait it out for a unit to deliver power to all algos like x11 x13 x15 and so forth would be interesting. But even with scrypt miners they are out but now face same sort of problems buying in and having massive spikes in diff and making units imposable to brake even. Going to wait it out and see how things progress in the coming months. You can do good with script asics if you know which pools to mine on. I have tried just about everything on the script pools and found a few good spots to rest them on. Also in sha 256, I know a few good spots to rest on but its much easier to find mining nests on sha 256 than scrypt. Litecoin diffs have been going kinda sideways the last few diffs, so do some research and don't believe everything you hear. Even the bitcoin diff changes are manageable. You just ain't gonna make a lot of money buying just one S3. You need at least 4, and the ability to add more. But holding onto your BTC and LTC and waiting is not a bad option. 20 nm scrypt asics and 20 nm sha256 asics are just around the corner.... |

Thanks for posting. I'll be playing around a bit today as well.
Are you using 2 or 4 cables? I would like to try to go to 225 after I get some heat sinks for the DC/DCs but I will only have 2 cables available.
I've gone to GREAT lengths to cool my DC/DC modules but am still having issues getting anything over 430gh. I never get any ASIC errors at higher frequencies, though 212 will force one of my boards to not be recognized by the controller.  Chip temps are 31 degrees, DC/DC modules are cool to the touch. I do see 475+ for about 30-45 minutes on one unit but it tapers off below 430 after more than 10 hours. Using server power supplies and a separate PWS for the fans. (They are 12V 2A each) |

Plus now I noticed that one of the boards are running a little hot so I'm trying to solve that issue. It might be effecting hash rate but it's hard to tell because I was on different settings there for awhile. |

Also are we 100% sure that the R47 module is the DC/DC module, I seem to remember someone claiming that it was the chip above the R47 that was the DC/DC. Maybe there's another issue with the DC/DC beside temp. like voltage... idk. |

It depends on mhz, naturally at 212.5 it is VERY quiet and CONSISTENT (not much acceleration-deceleration)-57db at 1m, 63-64db at fans (my A/C is louder) at 218.75-it is 62 at one meter (when fans are at ~2-2.2K), dropping to 57db at one meter when fans are at 1.8-1.9K and 64-68dB at fans One is in my small office, it is tolerable, but mildly annoying at 218.75, but totally OK at 212.5 At 5-10 m distance you don't hear much. measurement with dB Meter Pro I wouldn't call them whisper quiet, though |

R47 is the Inductor...coil... DC buck convertor is small black chip above it... marked Ti 53355DQP ...  The design of DC conversion is looking very "quick & dirty" ...only 3 resistors and 2-3 capacitors ... Not even close to TI recommendations ...IMHO...  ZiG EDIT...: Just discovered a bunch of other components on the back of PCB...So maybe it is not a bad design...But still running too hot, IMHO... |

You would likely don't want to wait that long and i would have to ship from Ottawa. You might do better if you check with bitcoinware.net (or bitcoinware.ca ) in Toronto... high chance you are in TO too- lol. For all Canucks, There's also a new re seller in Vancouver called Antminer Canada ( antminer.ca ). Do a google search. There's always someone selling antminer's on kijiji and Craigslist too. I saw an S3 for sale there today. I don't recall if he has it on hand and I think it was Edmonton. Some sell on Canada's Bitcoin forum too. |

(Aug 2nd) While some may say making the buyer of a batch 4 that used of a coupon wait until aug 2nd is just as bad . Maybe it will spike and go to 750 usd and then they will send the btc out to you. say on Aug 2nd the day they ship the batch 4 gear. |

In order to wake them up I have to recycle the power supply. It's not isolated to one Antminer or one power supply, but multiple units in different areas, different power, etc. Different pci-e cables, different types of power supplies, doesn't matter.

You might be overloading the PSU. Overclocking would do it, or if your PSU was barely supporting the S3s through its PCI-ex, you might have that issue. When that happens the PSU needs to stay disconnected for a bit and then it will start working when connected back to the wall. It is because of a failsafe within the PSU. If this is happening on multiple PSU's and they are not over taxed, look at your power bar. I have had them go bad or turn off like a circuit breaker if there is too much power flowing through them. This is not a typical problem with S3's so I would look at your power from the panel to the PSU's. See if there is a single point of failure. |
