Surely this has been answered before and I apologize but I can't scroll through 1100 pages of this ANN. Compared to mining with asic or gpu how much electricity will a 1tb hard drive use? Is HDD mining energy efficient and cheaper on the electric bill?
A hard drive on its own uses about 5-10w, but you do need it plugged into a machine which will also use some power. BURST mining with 80+ TB at my house, and I honestly notice basically no difference in my power bill over just leaving my computers on and not mining. So I would almost say that mining is free. To me, it basically is. It will catch on, and it is. Also @ Elmit - development is still VERY active. We have already seen a release of the GPU miner recently, and there is other development going on that will be released shortly upon BURST's bday, that will give more ease of use to the every day computer user. burstdev himself is active in the core slack, so no, no one has abandoned BURST by any means, and please, stop with your nonsense. Just because none of us has the ability to work solely for BURST (even though we would love to, it currently just isn't feasible) doesn't mean that nothing is going on. People can help by donating to the BURSTPromoDevFund AT that I've setup either through the AT section of the wallet, or by sending BURST to BURST-CXF4-GBPX-R6BV-G4P8KWhen we get enough money there (and the main reason we don't have it yet, is because it was stolen...) we will hire professional PR company to promote BURST as well. BUT, you know, you can also do some promotion on your own, no one is stopping you. But then again, how many people will actually listen to you? So would you really do anything good for the coin or not? Anyway, don't start again with this 'burst is dead' nonsense. It just isn't true, and you're simply being annoying for the sake of being annoying. no one is stopping you from doing anything to help the coin, aside from the fact that no one likes you and no one trusts you. Which you've brought upon yourself. Maybe it would be a good idea, if the original burstdev could post a few words here every now and then. Once or twice a week would be more than enough, just so everyone can see he's still active. I would also suggest: Do smaller updates to show what you are working on. So far, not even the site for setting up the reward receipient is properly implemented in the wallet. And there's a lot of other stuff like crowd founding etc. It would build a lot more trust to see even very small improvements and updates, than just those "development is very active" posts. No offense, but people only believe in what they see, and people who are about to invest their hard earned money into crypto coins, want to see proof first nowadays.

Another thing worth pointing out is that it only requires 4 BTC to bring the price to 0.0000008 BTC on Bittrex, I see so many posts here about sophisticated supporters and promoters for this coin and yet noone adds buy support for the coin, main reason could be that this is a "miner's coin" which means mine and dump that shit at whatever buy price. I guess this coin will only succeed after all big miners have finished dumping their stash.

What I really would like to have to the 1-year anniversary is A roadmap for1. Technological goals and priorities (core development) 2. Software plans, ongoing and future 3. Promotional goals and priorities Ideally, along with each step on the roadmap(s), hopefully presented both in text and graphics with a tentative time-table, should an analyze of existing (today) and required (future) resources. Example of resources are key competences, funding, additional personal for time-demanding tasks, etcetera. When we know the required resources to reach a certain goal, the community will know what we collectively must try to bring in. Basically: Let the investors and miners know where this boat is heading. As of today we know very little of that and it's a shame. Burst seems like a ship just cruising around without a real mission. An overall coordination of activities and communication seems to be lacking. If the above actually was delivered, I'd suggest that you post regular (bi-weekly?) updates on what progress or obstacles you face, information essential to keep the roadmap updated and investors/miners informed. I'd prefer that you use the blog (which has not been updated for six-some week, btw). The official site's Team-page]http://burstcoin.info/about/] official site's Team-page is impressive, but some of the names I get the impression are not active anymore. If this site is updated with the actual active devs, it could be connected to the roadmap to see which people are working on what.
ARE the developers are still with us? or have they already left since BURST price does not perform as expected?
Last update was BEFORE block 92000 Now we have block 126245 !!! That is almost a THIRD of the coins existence without any update!
In case the developer lost track: Please: 1. add at and lottery pages 2. update wallet 3. update nxt.wellKnownPeers 4. Look at your cheat sheet ("NXT") what to update. 5. publish the white paper (finally)
Maybe we should ask other developers to jump in here. How about bin/laden? The WINDOWS wallet is already - even as a clone - advanced to the original. (Who know me, will know what I am thinking of Windows)
Burst lakes of two MAJOR things: 1. management of BURST development 2. management of BURST promotion aka PR team
Please Devs, read the above. These three quotes have something in common. It's not something spectacular in any wat but very, very doable with just a little (I almost wrote "management" but all needed is) planning. At the moment, you are letting Titanic sink before hitting the iceberg. .47 sats on polo and people are still selling as if they see the iceberg approaching. Do something.

To make my point clearer with the quotes, this might be temporary but it could be a tendency. Are miners turning off machines although it's almost free to mine...? Are we seeing a new corridor in network size, THAT is worrying.

I still havent bought any because i dont wanna register at new exchanges, so i`d prefer if it were available on yobit. It must be added there so somebody fill out that form please! https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/

No one will mine it unless you make it much easier to setup. Has it occurred to anyone that their are much more newbies learning to mine everyday. I installed Minersgate and it was clean easy and polished. as soon as it was installed it was mining away, of course don't like the coins. awesomeminer, guiminer multiminer all achieved the goal of quickly mining with everything in one package.
Burst today installer doesn't even work. Almost and looked closer to getting me to mine.
Then make setup as a trial mode as not to burn burst coins every time one tries to configure what ever I need to configure.
Point and shoot the miner to the pool and nothing else. I'm thinking along the lines of a simple cgminer bat file. We are talking everything gets setup inside this bat file including plot files if that is the case. Uray, blago is it possible. Can we log into a pool withe user/password then set an account using burst address?
The guides don't work or outdated
