Not, it accused Bytecoin (the first cryptonote coin) of being a scam. And maybe the dev that the current devs took over the project from. http://monero.cc/getting-started/#miningTake it from there.

Nice rise in last days. If we break 0.0055 we could see new ATH soon! One good article on coindesk about xmr would be great Some of us still "waiting" for coindesk stop with the cryptonote blackout, if theres no talk about XMR (or BBR for that matter) I'll start finding very suspicious. "First they ignore you, ..., ..., then you win"

Did you read the whole thing? Dont get why people interprete this as monero beeing scam.. Its actually about the corrupt bytecoin codebase, it. was seriously crippled for bytecoin mining.. Monero Team just discovered an fixed but there was a Period of enhanced private miners during the Development of fixes. As usual ..

What are some ridiculously long term predictions for this coin? What price do you expect in 20 years time or so? I think in 2050, we'll see a legit FIAT crash from dollar and euro, with asia becoming the ruler fiat, and crypto growing strong on the sidelines. My only 2 long term bets are BTC and XMR thus far.

We'll see that way way before 2050. We are talking years, not decades. BTC for sure will have a place, and the leading anonymous currency at that time.

A billion CNY per XMR since dollar would have collapsed by then.

Possibly in 2070, 100-1000 XMR could be enough to buy a little island...

Why this coin is better then all others altcoin? FAQ entry: Prove me that Monero is not yet-another-shitcoin. thats true, but there are also people like me with nearly no btc. we only buy btc to buy monero Same thing here. XMR as a currency symbol is simply used because its the ISO standard: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217All currencies who aren´t bound to a single country or area are starting with X, like XBT is the currency code for Bitcoin and XCP is the code for Counterparty which have all totally different codebases. Not only currencies, it also applies to some precious metals: gold (XAU), silver (XAG), palladium (XPD), platinum (XPT) (X+chemical symbol). [2050] asia becoming the ruler fiat (offtopic) Asia is overrated, especially China. China has huge internal problems of many kind which are already kicking in - the Lewis Turning point being a reliable indicator among many others (like a long history of not being united and the tendancy to rest on his laurels, see Ming Dynasty). Now, if you include India in Asia (you should), this is more plausible - it has the largest population in the world and it will continue and demography is a potent instrument; they also have a 50-years plan on thorium that is about to rise, thanks to their world's biggest reserve of thorium, a much less dangerous nuclear fuel than uranium. Still, by 2050, I'd start considering Africa. And by 2070 spatial nation-states/corporations should start becoming a force to be reckoned with. (/offtopic) Mmmm... black market import/export dealings of thorium with monero? <= this was an attempt at getting on topic.

humble me was there when noodledoodle delivered the first optimized miners, at time i went from 4h/s to 10h/s solo mining on my laptop, many were surprised by how fast and transparently things went Yeah, good old time. I regret every day not having used my Azure trial on the very first days (I still managed to get several blocks) and waited so long before buying (and not even spending all my BTC there - but then I had only 0.5 BTC left after the Blackcoin debacle).

Is there a rich list for XMR?
I obtained about 40k back when this coin was still young, I'm curious if that makes me an XMR whale or a small fish.
Does anyone see this coin going back to 60+ price?

Do tell how a rich list would work in an untraceable currency? That said, you have ~1.3% of current supply. I'd argue whale.

My random friend, you are most definitely a whale. And yes, everyone here sees it going 60+. You'd be insane to buy something like XMR if you didn't think it had HUGE upside in case of success.

The growth of Earth population is slowing down and can stabilize may be around 10-12 billion by 2050 if no major disaster happens. But anyway the rate of the islands development is quite high so almost obvious that they are going to be much more expensive. Widely adopted XMR is gonna be very expensive as well and so difficult to assume that it will rise 1000 or more times in just few years.

If XMR achieves that "wide adoption" that is 25000-250000x by your numbers.
