The support zone (165k-170k) got tested once again on high volume. Bear in mind that everytime it holds on high volume it gets stronger and is less likely to break in the future. In addition, the ask side is rather flattish back to 200k. I can only spot one (minor) wall so far at 190k. Furthermore, the lending rates are still quite high, which lets me believe that there are still open shorts out their that need to rebuy/cover.

Also, Bitcoin seems to be somewhat declining currently after reaching a local (high) above 450, which usually is a good thing since most altcoin traders tend to dump on a Bitcoin spike.

The fact we're experiencing a fast and heavy BTC dump makes me confident that we will retest 240-260k soon...

I've noticed that XMR does best when BTC is relatively stable.

Call me pedantic but I'd hardly call a $7 drop on a $77 advance a dump. Below $400 would be a dump.

Probably you need to factor volume quite heavily when defining "dump", to accommodate ordinary use of the word.  On a price basis, the conventional nomenclature has 10%+ down constituting a "correction" and 20%+ constituting a "bear market”, although there are various problems with those naïve 1-d criteria as well.

lol

ETH-ringsigs doesn't solve the "Satoshi Coin Problem":

if a big holder of ETh moves his coins to a ring sig dApp, we can actually see his coins moving in. this taints his coins
also, transparent transactions will probably still be possible. Mixing isn't enforced on Ethereum-network

In addition, that thread doesn't show any development progress whatsoever. Also, we have been over this a few times with primer, so no need to start an endless discussion again.

Aha, so work has already fully started. Thanks for sharing the links.

May I suggest posting the links to the funding page as well, since I was under the (naive) impression nothing was happening yet.

Will the new GUI offer the ability to use the view key function for Monero cold storage wallets?

I think it will, I'll ask about it later. Also, you can already check if your funds arrived safely at your (cold) wallet address using this tool:

First, make sure to save the transaction hash shapeshift, an exchange, or simplewallet provided you with. Subsequently, you can use the following tool:

http://xmrtests.llcoins.net/checktx.html

Fill in your address, the viewkey that belongs to the address, and the transaction hash of the specific transaction. It should show you something like: "These outputs are yours". The sum of those outputs should be equal to the amount that was sent. I suggest using a test amount first to try out the tool and get a bit familiar with it.

Using this tool you can be certain that your funds arrived safely at your wallet.

That tool is perfect. Thank you for making me aware of it. I trust the message below but want to learn how it works.

Big thanks to MoneroBlocks for the transaction data API, without which this page would not work.

If this means no data is sent to the http://xmrtests.llcoins.net server what about the MoneroBlocks server? Data must be pulled from MoneroBlocks in order for the viewkey to work. What data must be sent to MoneroBlocks to make that happen? Does MoneroBlocks have the ability to associate viewkeys with the IP address of the party making a request for data?

I appreciate that. No matter what the answer is to my privacy related (viewkey) question, this tool plus a cold storage wallet seems more secure than using mymonero.com for verifying receipt of Monero payments.

Thank you luigi1111
