Brexit really didn't do anything that positive in terms for cryptos... Especially looking at BTC.

The markets have not come close to digesting the aftermath of Brexit. Furthermore we are not even considering the the possibility that the UK itself will break up. Scotland could for example become independent as a result of this. What I see here is major turmoil in the fiat and equity markets as a result of this. I will leave to the reader to judge whether this is good or bad for crypto as a whole.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Block reward has dropped below 12XMR..

Why is it stuck @ .0024 , we should be above .0030 considering the network hash is higher than ever, crypto getting world wide attention thanks to btc pump, brexit, etcetc..

Because your holding instead of dumping and ranting about what a failure the coin is. Smiley

Brexit isn't even a thing, yet.  An advisory vote was held, and will be duly ignored by TPTB, or recast with heavier tampering to sway it their way.  Even escalating civil unrest may not be enough to force action, and even then its a very long process.  The shit will be blown far and wide before anything resembling a Brexit can take place.   My 2c.

Cool Cool Cool

I just don't get it. None of them are censorship resistant. Only Monero is. These people just blah blah blah.

You many approach censorship resistance as a binary while they consider it a spectrum.

Bitcoin isn't 100% fungible like Monero, but it was good enough for breaking Five Eye's Wikileaks funding embargo.

All I see is LOTS OF VOLATILITY in the financial markets (which will spur volatility in crypto) from now until the end of 2016.

Strap/zip-tie/super glue your hats down, it's going to be a wild ride.

Edit: Just imagine what Bitcoin would look like had it existed before the 2008 financial crisis....

2016 will spark an even bigger one...

That is a very good point, BTC may be transparent but it is not yet (that we know of) controllable by one entity.

I speculate my timeframe is still correct. Smiley

I listened to the missive last night, really well done. I'm getting myself set up to contribute to the project, and I must say, the idea that "everything is merged, and if it breaks things, someone has to come along and fix it before anyone else can do anything" is...well, it seems unorthodox, but I love the idea. Especially since its on a dev branch (if it was on Master, the thing would be a shitshow). I'm really looking forward to participating in the code contribution process, I haven't worked on a cryptocurrency before.

Oh Primer-, never change. Your unwavering lack of faith in the Monero project is only surpassed by your dedication to endlessly shitposting in this thread. Don't you have a life, or a job, or something? If your free time had any value, I expect you would have given up by now.

Primer finally sold, now monero can rise.

Or not.  Because only ICO scams and coins with bad distribution ever rise.

What are you talking about? I'm sure that XEM/Ripple/Lisk/Maid/Eth/Dash have fantastic distributions, and their market cap is totally, 100%, without a doubt grounded in solid fundamentals, and not due to a vast majority of the float being locked up by a very small group of people. Dash has a better distribution than even Bitcoin, haven't you seen the chart?

It makes sense to use Monero over BTC in dark markets for obvious reasons, but BTC's network effects are very strong. You would need a catalyst to attract a bunch of people to the Monero market.

Bitcoin's increasing transaction fees could serve as such a catalyst. A sufficiently large spike in transaction fees could trigger a mass migration of users from a BTC-based dark market to a Monero-based one.

uh speculation on topic....

brexit, halvening, DAO, blockreward going below 12 xmr, GUI being released in 2 weeks*, RingCT right around the corner .... damn I wish I had more money. Or damn I wish I hadn't bought all that hardware instead of monero when monero was 25 cents. Or damn I wish I could convince myself to mine on a pool instead of hoping for a whole block every once in a while.

Is 2 weeks* better than soon* ?

No it means that he is basically trolling (as expected from the appointed troll dev) and doesn't know a specific release date.
