Bitcoin went up over the weekend. It's a typical over reaction by the market. Things will pick up and we'll probably go to the other extreme and that will get us back to our "average" volume, especially if btc drops a buck or two...

Yes. After all these years of trading crapcoins on polo I have a fucking pile of theories. I think I could write a book lol.

this can be at least one of the point here why alts is really sucking us down. lets wait for the bounce back
just keeps on picking some cheap coins and try chasing it from the bottom.

Hi guys,
...

I speculate that monero will go down and then up. Or the other way around....

How can you speculate up or down and still be wrong!!! Tongue

Where's the liquidity???  Didn't hit my sell or buy points.  I may have to move them and that would be a first in a VERY long time! Sad

On the good news side I've made about 10X on the dust I've been using and lost about 5000X times that at the Casino. DOH Cheesy

What happens if everyone already bought in anticipation of said pump?

Sold all my Monero in preparation for ZCash. will buy back once bottom is reached.

Interesting, everybody expects the same.
From experience I know what happens in the moment in which every average joe knows for sure how things will develop...maybe we have a surprise on the Zcash launch.

Hello, should i sell my xmrs ?
I have no idea about the price now but i would not sell/short. The xmr price has for a long time appeared to be collapsing but maybe it's just an illusion? it could jump up to 0.011 but it could also fall below 0.009

I've made many trades on bitsquare. Works great. Often I have gotten a much better price on bitsquare than poloniex (by people taking my offers). It's been a bit slow lately, but we have also had declining volume on poloniex so not that surprising. I highly recommend giving it a try, if only to help bootstrap the market. We still need a lot of market makers. I have setup a dedicated computer to have my bids/asks online 24/7, you can do that with a cheap raspberry pi (albeit a bit slow). Support privacy and decentralization. If enough people do it, the market will run itself.

Thanks!

I have been using Bittrex as my buying point, as you say if only to help bootstrap the market. I prefer to not use Poloniex if possible. I will take time to study and set-up a node for Bitsquare.

Does bitsquares run as a daemon, or do you have a monitor attached, or are you doing some xserv fanciness with the pumping of the GUI through the pipes.

There is no way to run it without GUI at the moment. I have a monitor. There are plans for API.

TC, What is it in particular about the current state of Monero as a whole that makes you believe a best case scenario can and will pan out?
I for one believe what you write COULD potentially happen, but as far as i have learnt its not actually very likely at all.

What indications for success can you see that i cannot? I'll admit your posts grabbed my attention around the start of September and as a result i bought in (No regrets here) however after being here for some time, i feel that maybe its just a strategy of yours (I remember you talking about a self fulfilling prophecy that just believing strongly enough then it will happen is a driving force in itself to make it happen)

In other news, i watched a video that talked about why bitcoin has not had mass adoption and it raised some pretty good points. In particular that in general, back end programmers simply do not have the required expertise in transactional buisness, promotion and marketing to really bring such a groundbreaking technology to the public. When i learnt about crypto, it took me hours of learning before i truly saw the bigger picture and i am just an average joe (In crypto terms anyways).

To me this indicates that we need an obvious incentive for new users and not just promise of a grand vision (That a lot of people will simply not have the time to realise themselves)

I sure hope this thing does pan out like some of you guys predict. But from were i am stood if this is to happen we as a community need to seriously innovate on a kind of marketing strategy at least to promote the coin now things are getting more competitive
