A thoughtful article on BTC and DRELM (dash, ripple, eth, litecoin, monero).
Link - https://www.technologyreview.com/s/607947/the-cryptocurrency-market-is-growing-exponentially

May I propose a new mnemonic "DREAM" comprising of dash, ripple, eth, aeon, monero.

These fab five are selected solely due to their names ability to form a coherent 5-letter word, and is not an endorsement of their fundamentals.

This will be crypto's version of FANG (facebook, amazon, netflix, google) made popular in mainstream media.

Remember guys, you heard it here first.

I'm one O short of a LAMBO. (Litecoin, Aeon, Monero, Bitcoin).

The following clauses hold true in 50.01% or higher probability (in my opinion), so I can bet 1:1 on anyone (OTC, any amt&currency(or cross-currency)) who does NOT believe (every item is a separate bet in this case);

if you bet (correctly) that:
A) nothing happens, I pay 7:1;

if you bet that
B) at least one does not happen (and they all do, by 31.12.2017), you pay 7:1):

CLAIMS:

1. Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $2000 this year.

2. Monero (XMR) will reach $50 this year.

3. CK will reach $100 million market cap this year.

I am open to favorable early settlements. I need to raise about $10 million to pay my debts.

Warning everyone about this again.
Risto is in debts to many people including me (he stole 40BTC from me). He will not pay you if he loses as he sees this as a way only to raise money (as per his own words "I need to raise about $10 million to pay my debts").

Don't take his bets seriously; don't take his words seriously.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

What I find very interesting is the very low technology score for Monero.  This tells me that the Monero technology is not well understood in the market place at all. There are two critical technological aspects to Monero that give Monero its unique selling proposition.

Or they just put whatever there in order to pump whatever coin they feel like at the moment.

Bitcoin. Risk 9
Eth. Risk 6

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

I see them using incorrect data in which they are basing their decisions.

I don't disagree with you at all.  I find myself wondering if part of the problem is the definition of "tech".  According to them etherium is brimming with tech. I can see what they mean.  And i think that project will produce another train wreck before it's all over thanks to their 'tech'.

Monero seems low tech to the layman.  We have to continue to do a better job explaining how deep Monero goes to the seemingly simple goal of monetary privacy.

There is a communication breakdown.  Therefore an opportunity.

I agree with your point although it's interesting that Bitcoin gets the highest tech score as it is also just like Monero not "brimming with tech" (no smart contracts etc.)

But yeah, definitely a communication problem, Monero should have a top tech score.

Yeah it seems the fluffypony is going to pump the Moonero to a new ATH again to make his troll friends WhalePig and CO some more money by shorting it from the top.   Wink

I just hope that fluffy won't crash the whole market again. His joke has costed the market 20 B $ last week. One more Barolo bottle and you can say "Adieu" to Bitcoin, Eth and Ripple.

No idea. They all vanished pretty quick though. Now back down to 375.

I noticed EthTrader also had around 18000 online for a brief moment. None of the other subs seemed to be affected though.

Now it shows 5000. But is a bug for sure since less then 100 new subscribers was added today. Number would be way higher with 10k visits.

I dont believe have much different fluctuation as any other coin. I would say in last 3 months is quite stable compared to them since many of them had sharp rises.  But yu are welcome to present few numbers to prove me wrong.

BTC likely to test recent lows @ $1900ish. I expect XMR to dip in sync.
