So I installed your binary and my S5 fan shot up to 100% and stayed there, even though I have it set to 20% in the UI. Just to make sure that really was what caused it, I unplugged the S5, plugged it back in and it started up with fans at 20% like usual. I re-installed the binary, restarted cgminer and it was back to 100%. Is there a fan speed flag or something I'm missing? 20% I can deal with... 100%? Not so much when it sits with me in my office Been a very long time since I had anything to do with the S5 since I made that binary sorry. I had heard that fan control could not be set by the interface with it (going back to auto?) so there's not much I can do about it now.

Any custom FW for S5? -- I am planning to get the S5 FW refreshed to do ckpool solo mining fulltime.
Only the binary I made which has to be manually copied over and is not permanent. you can even shorten the sequence :p ssh 192.168.1.x -l root cd /usr/bin mv cgminer cgminer.bak wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s5/4.9.0-150105/cgminer chmod +x cgminer /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart I use this on my S5 because it's very simple to do, just set and forget. You will lose the fan % control (the gui stuff is still there but it doesn't do anything anymore), but I also saw a drop of 0.03% HW error and an increase in hash rate ~10GH/s both machine and pool side, oc'd @ 400 MHz. I like it. ymmv

melancon is our longest running high hash rate miner. He's had that hash rate since not all that long after the pool started. Some people got the right idea along ago
