... the new 7nm chip is comming hard to know what machines but the effincy is gona double
7nm is marketing, not reality. As I've said before, I bought a new server at home recently, for pool development and testing, latest Xeon chips - 14nm. Current mining hardware from Bitmain and Canaan is all 16nm. Latest GPUs are 16nm also with expectation to go to 14nm next. 7nm mining hardware is a long way away. I'd expect the next mining hardware to be 14nm since there are issues going below that, that I'd expect any company to be foolish to risk doing mining chips below 14nm yet. Edit: and just for fun: wikipedia says atoms are 0.1nm to 0.5nm https://news.bitcoin.com/japans-gmo-7nm-bitcoin-mining-boards-token-sale/article on 7nm boards for btc mining ready mid year public end of 2018 Yes GMO said that last year ... as I said ... marketing (I posted about it then also)

Yes GMO said that last year ... as I said ... marketing Exactly - Any announcement that ties its manufacturing to ICO fund raising raises a whole lotta red flags.

I'm hoping to see some more results from promoting in the next few days. I've been pushing the pool, with Kano's 10btc reward, directly into the path of Antpool, and Slush users. I have F2pool, and BTCpool, on my list next. Hopefully, these users are looking to find better rewards, with a much better community. Many of the Antpool users, are starting to understand, they are getting robbed.
I suppose I should try to get f2pool and btcpool monitored on minergain. That would likely be an interesting set of numbers. has anyone mined at either of those for at least a few months in their past that still has a login / api key?

Hey does anyone know anything about the Antminer V9. It takes 3 PCIe plugs. They say you can run multiple units on 1 A3++. Can you run 3? Would that give you 12th/s for $900 running with the same power as 1 S9?
Thx if anyone knows !

Back to 60PH! Let's hope it sticks this time.
EDIT: ...Aaaaannndd, it's gone.
You can't count on the Canaan numbers being reliable for long periods of time, those are testers for the most part and they drop off within a few days. It's when people like cryptostar and sidewinder show up, that we need to be cheering! HUZZAH FOR THE BARKEEP! MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!

they r definatly less efficient then the s9 probably most stable probably designed to run off alot of 15 amp circuits instead of the 20's which are ideal for the s9. also last time i checked they were selling these by the batch (min order 10). im guessing they jst chopped the 3 boards out of the s9 and put 1 in each v9 so u would need power for control and 3 for the board so 4 plugs each and u can run 2 on one of bitman standard power supplies.

However, I've certainly no complaint to make about that - they consistently point a lot of hash rate at the pool! You CAN count on them reliably pointing a lot of hash rate at the pool for a long period of time! Just not exactly how much

You think they repackaged used boards? 40th/s for $3000. If you could hook 3 to a A3++, it might be worth it

It looks like the V9 consumes just over 1000 Watts. You won’t power 2 of them with one apw3++ psu. Also 3 of them together won’t equal 1 S9 in hashing speed and still consume over 3000 Watts of electricity. The S9 still wins.

Bitmain usually sends out used equipment that they say was "tested". That's where their pool gets most of the hashrate that it has. If you get free or dirt cheap electricity, it might be worth it, otherwise not at all.

If you get free or dirt cheap electricity, it might be worth it, otherwise not at all. Well to be more specific Bitmain is the largest and worst competitor of every person who buys miners from them. i.e. they have mining, bazillions of S7s and S9s and of course now whatever their next miner is, that they will let everyone buy some time in the future. They need to get rid of their old garbage - S7s - and use the power for better miners than the S7s That's what the V9s are - their way of making MORE profit out of the old S7s they've been mining with.
