Thought I would share this experience. I've been away from Kano for about four weeks, but it was by design...

I'm back at Kano now Kiss
Thanks for sharing, and your service!  I just started mining 12/2017, and started at Slush, without a clue as to why except it was the first pool I read about and I probably saw a recommendation in a YouTube video.  Long story short, someone suggested I try Kano, so I pointed 1x S9 here and tried to figure out the difference in pools.  THEN I found this forum and realized this is an awesome community of like-minded BTC champions in this for far more than just the fiat.  That was enough for me, so I'm now officially 100% Kano.  I can't see how I'm ever going to recoup my $30k+ investment (reassuring sentiments welcome), but thanks to the Team Kano community at least I'll enjoy the ride!  Happy Hump Day Mining all!

To reflash the controller, I just need to pop out the sd card and update with the 821 software.

One question - when I popped the card into my drive , it said I must reformat it 1st - I can't open it to see what is on it now (i wanted to check that so I replace the same files..... (I'm not well versed with re flashing ...
Don't worry. If using Winbloze it does not know how to handle EXT4 formats which is why is says to format (as FAT32).
The image program does everything so does not matter what Win thinks just as long as it can see the drive.

Unfortunately, I'm one of the idiots who paid $5k+ for S9s on eBay in December.  I then bought a few more from Bitmain, and a couple T9s when I had coupons.  I also picked up 2x S9s off Craigslist at $2k each from a guy who panicked when BTC dropped a few weeks ago and thought it was going to zero.  So that helped my DCA.  I'm up to 4x S9s and 3x T9s online right now, with 4 more S9s due to arrive any day now.  New breakers arrived yesterday so by end of the weekend I'll have everything running on 240 which should help ease the electrical bill a bit.

Block again!! WOHOO!  Grin

One hashrate question also.

As I've been ramped up now for the last three blocks (I think) my N Avg on Kano shows 13.30, 13.30 and 13.29 THs. On CKPool Monitor my 24 hr average hashrate stays above 13.6 THs all the time.

Unfortunately I don't have my S9 (13.5 THs version January 2018 batch) at home so I can't log in to it to see the hashrate from the miner right now, but can someone explain why CKPool Monitor shows 0.3 THs higher average hashrate than Kano. Or ain't i fully ramped up yet?

And since pointing my miner to Kano I've been online without interruptions (except for e few minutes when nl-pool was down) so that shouldn't be the problem.

Obviously it's something I don't understand or Kano and CKPool Monitor measures the hashrate slightly different.

When did you start on the pool?  I would imagine the 24 hour is just that...the last 24 hours, while the N average is for the entire last 5nd, of which would most likely be smaller!

CKPool monitor uses the Kano API, but it only updates now and then (every minute I think?). Kano's site updates more often.

"Slightly" is the key word here.  Don't fret over slight differences.  I'm sure the S9 will show something higher than the pool does also because BMminer exaggerates the hash rate.  The pool hash rate is a calculated value based on work submitted.

If using Winbloze and a USB-to-card hub try plugging the hub into a different USB port. Win has a habit of finding a problem with USB devices and then refusing to load them later, plugging into a different port usually solves that.
