Hey Tom, I use site5 also. Never had an issue. Been using them for over 5 years.
very good pricing also.
$5-6 a month for "unlimited" bandwidth is hard to beat. $11 w/o contract. Again, I need to know if you need PHP or if the site is just static to give more advice. If just static, I'd go with Site5.

You might want to think twice before using Linode: In early March 2012, the New Jersey-based web and cloud hosting company Linode was suspected of robbing many popular Bitcoin services. A vulnerability in the customer support system was used to obtain administrator access to the servers. Once the Linode servers were compromised, eight accounts dealing with bitcoins were targeted. The hardest hit was the bitcoin trading platform, Bitcoinica. This resulted in the unauthorized transfer of BTC from the "hot wallets", a term used to describe operational withdrawal wallets, of the services affected. A severe bitcoin-denominated theft, the Linode theft also affected Tradehill, but no coins were stolen from them; instead, Tradehill had a short downtime because of the incident. In the aftermath of this theft, all the services migrated to other platforms and Linode remains with a negative connotation to this date.

we arent even close yet to chip / board availability limit (which btw is right around 1000 units) to be available to ship with the first batch.
The first "batch" is scheduled to begin shipping the first week after thanksgiving. I have probably only 2 people confirmed so far to help out, I still have to interview others and depending on our order load come the end of November I may need another 3-8 people to work 1-2 weeks.
As I explained before this is really the only bottleneck, the supply of hardware is available - but it will take some man power and man hours to get these loaded with firmware, tested, postage printed and shipped out the door.

Dammit cablepair, why can't you be 100 miles further north? We're all under turkey comas right now, it'd be the perfect end to Canadian Thanksgiving to know that our boards will be shipping in a week.

Good news about the first batch. Hopefully you can get the manpower you need so the shipping bottleneck isn't as bad.

Good Morning Friends and Happy Tuesday! I am back from the holiday weekend where I did not get much done due to family stuff However it is a normal business day here in New York today and I am back at my regular business schedule Todays Agenda 10/09/2012:- Shipping off a couple ModMiner Quad's (some purchased and one that was won by litebit in our weekly giveaway)
- Customer Service (I answer emails first and then PM's)
- Getting the power turned on at the new shop - where we will be processing the bASICs and shipping them out from
- Finding out from the web dev's when our new site will launch (and the big news release that will come with it)
If you need customer service it is much better to email me then PM. Although I love this forum I really don't enjoy the PM system here. On weekends I work limited hours so you can expect 1-2 days wait on email responses on weekends During the week I work a very long work day (about 12-14 hours) so during business days you can expect a response that very same day unless I am really backed up or something but normally you will get a response the same day. PM's are the lowest priority and I basically answer them whenever I get a chance to. Although you can catch me on IRC most every day on FreeNode #btcfpga, or you can just call me any day from 10am-10pm EST @ 315-514-0269 - if I don't answer please leave a message and I will call you back. I don't return calls that do not leave messages. Thank you and have a great day! Tom

The order number is roughly twice the amount of bASIC orders at any given time, the numbers get jumped up in between actual orders all day long This is for a number of reasons: 1) We have been selling and shipping products on this web site since May 2) People abandon and create fake orders every day 3) Credit cards get declined 4) People try to order stuff with guest accounts and don't follow through I will run a report tomorrow morning and find out exactly how many bASIC units have been sold and let you guys know but typically it has kept pretty true with the rule that the amount of bASIC units ordered is roughly half of the order # count that you get when you place an order. Chip or board shortage is not really an issue - the only thing that will slow things down is the fact that these have to actually be unboxed - firmware loaded - reboxed with the accessories, postage printed out and shipped. This can be a lot of work when your talking 500+ units, this is the reason I have rented 2000 square feet of office space (pictures coming soon!) and have been recruiting people from the forum to come work for me for about a week to ten days to get the first wave of shipments out. The pay will be reasonable and every night at quitting time the pizza and beer will be plentiful. It stands to be a pretty good time Couldn't you let us load the firmware ourselves?

They definitely could, but that would mean they would not be able to test and verify the functionality. Anything that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong, and as a customer, I'm sure you'd rather receive all units that are in functioning order. A smoke test/burn in is the best way to go before shipment.
