... In a preliminary experiment, I was only able to enable the nvidia-settings GUI fan and clock controls for my device0 card in my 6x750ti rig....
--scryptr

Coolbits only works for cards with monitors attached (at least it has for a while, and I don't think that has changed recently).  Though this post is old "http://blog.cryptohaze.com/2011/02/nvidia-fan-speed-control-for-headless.html" there is a way to 'trick' coolbits into thinking there are monitors attached to every card.  I tried the "advanced method" one time a couple months back and was not successful, but it was late and not really dedicated to its outcome.  Hope the info helps.

THANKS! --

I've read the post you linked and it looks informative.  I do notice that the author has set " "Coolbits" "5" ", which is a result of adding bit values of 4 + 1.  That would be useful only with vintage nVidia drivers.....

I'll tinker with my Linux rig some and post again later.       --scryptr

How about quark? Should be closer to 15 mhash... but you need to rewrite sgminer

I have studied the opencl code of sgminer, and I see many possible speed increases. Quark/qubit. I have picked up a couple of AMD cards cheap(280x,290 and 290x), and will try to
rewrite and optimize quark and qubit. I belive 10-15 MHASH quark per card is possible on the 280x (up from todays 5MHASH)

300% faster.

it's not fair ))) quark is last nvidia shelter )))

With proper config the 750ti will hash quark at 6 mhash(40 watt in the wall) this is higher than the 290x.
The gtx 980 can be tweaked to run close to 20mhash...

I have made this possible. Over a period of 6 months ppl have donated around 2 btc for my hard work. But a
amd kernal that is 300% faster can be sold for way more than 2 btc. My gpu coder student time is over. Time to make some $$$

It was a joke. My interest in mining is only in the ways how code for specific devices can be optimized. To few places are in the world where developers care about optimization )))
That's why i don't like private kernels, i can't see the code (((

Looks like you should invest in some solar panels. Feed the farm and return the extra kw's to the grid
Is land cheap there? In south east asia you could buy 1 acre of desert/farm land for around 3000$

solar panels are a waste of space unless it is quite large to cater for the farm ... for that you need land ... which leads me to the answer of your next question ...

land here in adelaide is a lot cheaper than most other states in australia - but by far is still not cheap ...

apart from that - the government place restrictions on how MANY panels and how much you can actually have compared to the usage ... making it near impossible to live without being connected to the grid AND feeding off it continuously ... greedy bastards they are ...

in the inland country areas - it is a LOT cheaper for land - but then you have the issues associated with feeding the farm with electricity ... there comes in the greedy bastards AGAIN ...

i am seriously considering taking a small break to thailand to voyeur the offerings of land and electricity ... it seems growth is a limited thing where i am - whereas thailand is a more accepting place for growth and expandability ... amongst other places on earth ...

if it really is as cheap as you say AND the governing bodies accept mining and the use of electricity and space - then the plan for a fram 10 times the size it is now could come much sooner than later ...

and so starts my research into the betterment of mining farms in lands yonder ...

Wink ...

That is a pretty standard rate for many parts of the USA.

We are talking $0.15 US Dollars per kilowatt-hour, correct?

What do you pay there in Adelaide?

yes - correct ...

depending on who you are with - but the average cost is AUD 0.30 - and in most parts of the state ( south australia ) it goes UP as you use more to about AUD 0.38 ...

so even with the exchange rate as is - it would only cost us AUD 0.17 or 0.18 at the US rate ...

we are really looking into relocating the farm ... need to now ... especially since the plan to grow it is very near ...

at first the idea was to move interstate to the cheapest rate in any state in australia ... now the it seems the best places are international ...

and with sp and the 'dev gang' optimizing like they are ... it will make more sense to move it elsewhere ...
