US bitcoin conman hit with $12m fine

Great then we all just lose.   It is good to hear formally that it was just a ponzi scheme.   However the SEC gets the money and that won't even pay for one of Trump's trips to his Florida estate.   I thought the use was supposed to be the home of the brave and the free.  Instead it seems to be the home of the criminal and corrupt.

Nobody gets the money yet - the companies are defunct with no assets. There is also the FBI plea deal that presumably involves restitution of some sort.

I doubt Trump gets a penny of this, but don't let that get in the way of a good old anti-American rant Smiley

... Every bit of profit you made came from the losses of someone who didn't pay GAW's game successfully. ...

That is your claim and you have never offered any proof of it.   If it were true there would be hundreds of customers that lost big time at GAWMiners.   You will be very hard pressed to find that.   Sorry but you are really the worst kind of FUDster there is.

For the record scrypt.cc has been running fine for 16 months.   So far the whining has only been from self proclaimed experts claiming scrypt.cc can't be legit and from people trying scams to get free BTC.   I wouldn't hold my breath on scrypt.cc failing.

changed your tune yet? damn FUDders/self-proclaimed experts killed every scam you promoted

What's the over/under for Garza never spending a day in jail?

If he gives up the laundering ring/network - other actors, he gets hide him away most likely and he won't see jail.
At this time, most likely the script will play out to some penalty they prepared for.
He'll get his share after he gets out of whatever spotlight.

The laugh is... the premined addresses have been released many months back on BCT.
You seem to be lying. It's not nice to lie.

The shark has no new meat.
He lays and lies to others to be harvested.

Oh hell, bitpop beat me to it............  Roll Eyes

That was a B*ll $#!t article.  Garza has not been fined  ---  yet.

I had my first little chat with FBI Agent Mark Munster today.  Thanks, @truckinusa!

HE WANTS MORE INFO on @Goroz & @Trixter (from Hashtalk forum.)

He says Garza won't do 20 years, but Judge will factor in PAST CRIMES, so of course I told him all about GAW No-Speed Wireless and the grant money he had to return to State of Vermont.

I asked about the other culpables, esp. Joe "Data Center" Mordica but got no info.

I asked about Stuart Fraser and he did not seem to be a big part of the investigation, so I told him why I thought he should be.   Wink

WE NEED MORE VICTIM-WITNESSES!  MORE INFO!  MORE SAD STORIES for the JUDGE.

FBI Agent Mark Munster is not as scary as he sounds.

Makes sense he's investigating the ADDAMS FAMILY, LOL.

CALL HIM NOW!   1-860-439-6100, 6101 &/or 6102

There are way too many people involved and way too much money involved from Stuart Fraser for there not to be someone else charged with fraud.  Garza was the only one that reaped the biggest reward, but they were all getting salaries to lie to everyone.

Agreed!  Kinda sucks how snitching scammers can be rats & turn state's evidence & get off Scot-free, just so the feds can nail the fat whale.

I'm guessing there was a lot of that going on.

Well now that you mention it...how many of the 10 Commandments did these guys break?

Pretty much all of them, except murder.

Wait.

We know a dead animal was sent thru the mail.

Murder!

Don't even get me started on 7 Deadly Sins.

They all hide behind a mask of piousness, but they only worship themselves and material gain.

I forgot where it was, but this pretty much sums up what I think about Stuart Fraser and whether or not he was guilty.

As for the charge that GAW is a Ponzi scheme, Mr. Garza pointed out that his principal partner, Cantor Fitzgerald Vice Chairman Stuart Fraser, in whose name the patent for one of Wall Street’s most important bond trading programs is listed, has “got more to lose than all of us combined.” He added, “Why would a guy that already has a ton of money, and would get thrown in jail if he was involved in anything sketchy, be involved in a scam?”
