You can try, but you're unlikely to get an RMA from diamond. For sure I can tell you that if you registered it with them and put ebay as the vendor they will not honor the warranty. Ebay people who say warranty should get the scam label.

Also, diamond doesn't have any 5970's I heard they are offering a 6970, which is bullshit or making you pay for a 7970, which is also bullshit.

XFX gave me a 6990 which looked brand new for a 5970 I RMA'd with them.

I have a diamond RMA in  process right now and will post in this section when i hear back.

Warranty on fleabay ? LOL.

And rightly so. Guy probably blew a VRM from too much overclocking.

If I was manufacturer I would refuse warranty and give 0 compensation. I doubt it was manufacturer that did not apply cooling to VRM.

This "break it" and "RMA it" behaviour is causing higher prices for all of us, including people like me who OC sensibly and don't run to the manufacturer when I screw a device ...

Use your a drop, if you're paranoid. Nobody is stopping you.
Why would you be billed after 3 months anyways, and not 3 days?
fail logic. you're expected to return the product after you received your "replacement". after a few months, they eventually give up and assume you're a scammer, so they send you a bill.

Do they take BTC Cheesy ?

Difficulty seems to be on a steady rise, is "it" back ?

That was my first thought when I saw diff jumping back to 1623000 Cry

Damn, it is looking like 1 720 000  now Angry

What happens when all legit miners are out of the game and only botnets are mining Huh

Lol @ anyone who falls for this.

Also, people like Nyaaan are the scum of the earth.  Don't support them.

Not only that but I think this is the type of behaviour that causes increased prices for all of us so that the retailer can compensate for things like this and RMAing intentionally broken GPUs through overclocking etc.  Undecided

Watching what becomes of this thread.

Anyone actually ordered and used Nyaaan's "service" Huh

Not that I am planning to use it ...

1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Litecoin Development Club on: May 07, 2012, 05:50:20 PM
Is it possible to make an Intel iGPU miner for litecoin?  The OpenCL SDK is out: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/vcsource-tools-opencl-sdk/

If an Ivy Bridge GPU can get 300 kh/s with the onboard video card, "CPU" mining might still be viable.

Yeah. I can barely get 300 with a 5870 but you will get that with a iGPU ?

Cheesy
1028  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini Rig announcement by Butterfly Labs - 25gh/s on: May 07, 2012, 02:15:30 PM
Take a look at the wait list.  Everyone who gets one is going to be screwed.  Right now it pays for itself in 6.6 months not counting electricity.  When that many people have one, the difficulty will go up like 5x and they'll all be getting next to nothing.  I wouldn't get one if they were free because it won't even pay for electricity as soon as too many people have one.  He should have just built one and kept it Tongue

Most uneducated and uninformed post I have ever encountered on this forum.

Yeah right. The guy is stating the obvious but you all BFL fanboys are failing to see it.

Good luck with your big boxes !

Is the Raspberry Pi included with the Mini rigs ?

Any news on that EU VAT avoidance plan you guys had ? EU reseller ?

Can we please get this moved to FPGA section ?

Thank you !

1030  Economy / Securities / Re: Red Star Mining IPO GLBSE Listing - FPGA double boards ~800MH/s@~40W - each on: May 06, 2012, 11:39:01 PM
If MtRed have no news about bringing NameCoin merged mining back by the time the next dividend payment is being arranged this Thursday (2012/05/10) then I'm changing the pool to - https://polmine.pl - as they also offer 0% fees (tho we will continue the 0.1% donation to help keep the pool being able to offer such low fees), PPS payouts, merged mining with NMC and also IXC and IOC merged mining.  This is a very small pool so we will be supporting the variation of the bitcoin blockchain network but this also means the dividend will vary by (+/-)20% a week due to them finding less blocks (which we will get a bigger share of).

I will be putting forward the motion on whether to buy fans to cool the Sparten6 chips to help lengthen their lifetime and help them mine harder longer.  As the board hashes anywhere between >1GH/s down to <0.7GH/s because the board is mining as hard as it can but cuts down the hash-rate once it gets too hot.  So if we can keep the heatsinks cooler they should mine harder for longer plus live longer.  The fans cost £4.25 each and two will be used per board.  Costing £0.06 a week per board on top of the boards £0.79 normal running costs.

I would be very wary of such small pools without active forum presence and 0% fee PPS ( very dodgy and unsustainable for the most part ).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50779.0 to see an example of their actions in the past.

They might have changed but I would not advise going for this route. I think it would be better if you stuck to something like 3% PPS fee so the OP is less inclined to pack up and run.

0% fee PPS is not sustainable unless you are hopping or doing some other "magix" IMHO and very dangerous and real danger of folding quickly if pool is unlucky.

Also see the dangers of SMPPS by meni !

I fear the biggest challenge to bitcoin will come this Dec when the block reward will be cut in half. (Question:will the difficulty drop by a lot so blocks are mined any faster?)If the block reward is cut in half and there is no substantial reduction in difficulty the mining community will will die off.

Don't worry there always will be :

-botnets

-system admin miners

-children in mother's basement

-mining "for the lulz" without caring about $$$ profit or losses due to electric costs

-illegal electricity stealing from neighbours / power company / broken meter

Difficulty ain't going down any time soon Angry

All the legit miners will be squeezed out I think and all the criminals left to play and mine.
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the First on CPU Mining on: May 05, 2012, 07:31:02 PM
Forked can be a bitcoin copy like tenebrix or blockchain fork like you threatened to do with NMC and got paid 30k NMC to avoid this via blackmail.

Bulanula,

I only just noticed because I had you on ignore; you have a scammer tag. Is that because you are a scamming scammer who scams?

Actually don't bother answering because I'm going to put you back on ignore. It's way more fun to watch BCX and the MicroCash scammers fight it out than it is to listen to you. Of course if you want to tell the forum why you actually fell out of CoinHunters scam circle that would go some way to repairing your karma.

I fell out of the scam that is SoiledCon when I saw that CH was going to bring the reward down to 1 from 32 or something like that.

I was worried he will block my wallet like he did with ArtForz and many others and I sold all my SC at 0.0126 and never looked back.

I was in the "circle" for only a few weeks at most and I got nothing valuable from doing so.

When I saw the power CH had ( more than GayPal ) of blocking wallets and his CPF and the TX blocking and the block reward change I said "screw it" and left that scam immediately.

@ALL

As bad as I hate to agree with Psytard, Bitcoin was the first CPU mined cryptocurrency. For over a year Bitcoin was CPU based. ArtForz came on the scene in July 2010 with the first GPU miner.

Tenebrix was the first coin post Bitcoin that was announced as a CPU only chain.

It was one of the first coins I forked just for the hell of it.

Is this you admitting you are "lolcust" creator of tenebrix ( last came on here 14 Feb ) AKA "ArtForz" ( what a coincidence, last came on here 15 Feb ) Huh

Retard,

Please explain how you can derive that from what I posted.

I do not know if Lolcust is ArtForz or not, but I do know I am neither !

Can i have binarys for ubuntu 11.04?
I`m still unable to compile, and i`m trying once a mounth at least :/

Wouldn't you rather learn how to correctly compile? Let me know how it is failing for you or give me ssh access to the machine and we can fix that for you.

I just see, that " kill a watt" is an brand. So i use not this!! I use one from "Brennstuhl".
I will buy an other one today with different brand for have an second measurment.

I just check the rig after 7h mining: still 930Watt. Single temperatur betwen 52°C and 63°C!

Better would be to buy an ammeter and measure the DC current at the board level. Apparently these kill-a-watt devices can get very confused with inductive loads (like a switching power supply).
You are absolutly right!!!
Looks like "this midle price" kill a watt devices have BIG- problem with iductive loads!!

I connect my new "cheap" devices and it shows:

1 host PC + GPU mining: 180W (old 180W)
1 host PC + GPU + 15 Singles idle: 418W (old 412W)
1 host PC + GPU + 15 Singles mining: 1370W (old 920W)
This give 1190W for 15 Singles = 79.33W/Single

Mystery solved!
Means: more expensive german-tools are not allways better!

Sorry for the revolt!!!

Can you post a picture of this device ? If my power meter is wrong then I am Cheesy

I believe I have 3 of them like this :

Which one are you using to get the bad results ? Thanks !

Good sport or not, one day I will pay it back and have the tag removed.

But for now I am in the elusive and exclusive scammer tag club. Gotta enjoy it, don't you think Grin ?
