Either something very similar has happened or it's been posted before, wasn't this in washington? I would have thought that the police would want to avoid such a gigantic fuck up in their PR image.
1102  Other / Off-topic / Re: BUYING GAMING LAPTOP need advice on: June 10, 2015, 10:24:59 PM
I realise what you're thinking, but one thing you clearly haven't considered is that there's no way in hell anyone in their right mind would carry a laptop that expensive out in the open at an airport. If somebody knew about computers and saw you playing GTA V while you were waiting they might try to grab it and run.

In a hotel with a locked door? On an airplane where the thief can't run anywhere? Sure, but it'd be dumb to go around playing Battlefield 4 etc. out in public unless you were absolutely sure you wouldn't get robbed.
1103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson to bring Top Gear to Netflix on: June 10, 2015, 02:37:08 PM
Netflix is definitely the most logical option as they don't rely on advertising for their revenue, it's basically like the BBC would be if they were privatised, I hope the BBC go bankrupt and finally die or go private, they're a bunch of corrupt assholes regardless of what Jeremy has done.

BBC won't ever go bankrupt as long as people keep paying their license fee. People need to ditch it en masse but that likely wont happen. Maybe there could be some sort of referendum on whether it should go private or not but I think the fee should be scrapped and it should be funded via adverts like all the other channels.

They're desperately clinging on to it, I also think it should be privatised, at least the Royal Mail was providing a genuine service but the BBC is nothing more than if Fox News were left and funded by the state. Top Gear leaving will certainly put a dent in their reputation as well as their finances.

That being said, even peadophilia wasn't enough to get people angry at the BBC, another reason why I hate this country so much, they'll put up with anything if they're told it's good for them.
1104  Economy / Services / Re: DA DICE Signature Campaign 2.O - Pay Per Post & Fixed Campaign Thread on: June 10, 2015, 01:36:35 PM
That was confusing, didn't realise things had moved, put my signature back where it was, thought things had changed but I'm still there so Tongue

Good job keeping this campaign going, receieved my payment.

Though I have nothing against summer, I'd prefer eternal late-spring weather. Tired of temperatures like +36-37 degrees Celsius, continental climate completely sucks. Maybe I should move closer to sea?

I'm experiencing only 16 - 20 degrees celsius and already I'm sick of it lol Tongue looks like the temperatures are staying pretty low though considering it's summer, so grateful for that because last year was hell.

Bumping my infamous fuck summer thread, I am currently suffering from a high pollen count attack this week.
1108  Economy / Goods / Re: The Rabbit And The Moon - Coming soon! 2D Platformer! on: June 10, 2015, 11:14:25 AM
Okay, so what I've decided to do since this is just a very basic platformer I'm building in Unity I will provide WIP screenshots and game footage for you guys to take a look at. While I'm happy with the way things are going I want to see if theres any direction I can take this in to increase the likelihood of sales and so on and I'm always happy to receive good critique from people who know what they're talking about. I think it's about time now that I'm moving onto animation and polishing the game I get some screenshots up and let people look the basic mechanics working

I want to stress, right now, I basically have a nearly working alpha of this game, the artwork isn't done, the green square you see is just a placeholder for the main character who will be a rabbit. The animations you might see a little bit of are just crappy placeholders to help me decide how I'm going to do everything.

Starting level

As you can see I have a very basic score system up which needs to be worked on, the score doesn't transition between levels and I don't have a score screen up yet which I will be putting in. Right now I just have carrots as placeholder art, but you'll be collecting all sorts of vegetables to increase your score as you progress.

Player death is in, you'll be having to dodge enemy stars, things will get a lot more difficult as you get through the levels

No falling endlessly of the screen, I have a basic box collider set up so if you try jumping off the world you'll die and if you jump off the platforms same thing

I have multiple checkpoints in which are all working fine, you just need to go through them and then it saves the player's location, be warned, going to previous checkpoints and going through them will set it to that location instead

Level loading is in and actually pretty damn easy to implement thanks to Unity, so now I will be able to give you guys lots and lots of levels easily, in this game you have to reach the moon and press "E" to get to the next level or finish.

Physics based traps! Again, another placeholder that I need to do the artwork for, this will probably be a little iceball or something so you'd better watch out for it.

Moving platforms are in, a little annoying to animate, but thanks to Unity it's a breeze to put them in once you do all the work, this game engine has really won me over.

Also note the snow particles in the background, will be seeing what I can do art wise to make things interesting for you all, maybe some animated backgrounds would be a good idea? This is why I'm looking for input.

Hope you enjoyed this selection of screenshots, when I get animation in and some basic sounds I'll be posting up a video of the gameplay and adding in way more levels. I also need to clean up some of the code and make movement smoother etc. once I do all that then I'll be posting another update, with some proper gameplay footage of course.

For people who may want to pay in Pounds, Dollars or Euros or use steam, I have bought steam greenlight, so I will be submitting the game to there if I get enough support. There will be no extra charge for new game content or updates and the game will be DRM free. So you'll be able to play entirely offline, once you buy the game you will own it, so long as you don't do it for profit, you can share it amongst friends or put it on a filesharing website, whatever, it's your copy.

*Takes five seconds glancing through the article*

Yep, bullshit, don't pay any attention to anyone that tries to criticise currencies without even having a basic knowledge of how they work.
I've done the same. Well I was just waiting for these articles to start popping up again; however, I'm hoping that they are going to be less in number than before.
Remember the times when we have an article like this spreading FUD almost every single day, and sometimes multiple times a day.

To simplify the situation used to be:
If you bought Bitcoin on time, you would state the following:          Bitcoin is the future
If you hadn't bought Bitcoin on time, you would state the following: Bitcoin is a scam/ponzi and whatnot.

I guess this reporter from Washingtonpost thinks that he is smarter more than 100 000(+) merchants that DO accept Bitcoin. This includes Microsoft, Dell, Overstock, Newegg and several other big companies.  Roll Eyes

The currency as we all know, works absolutely fine and functions the way it's supposed to, it's all the infrastructure and services that have grown around it that needs some work, once we weed out all these scammers then we'll see more real businesses getting set up.
1111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson to bring Top Gear to Netflix on: June 10, 2015, 10:21:55 AM
I'll change it lol but honestly if they went to Netflix it would be amazing, the thing is, if you guys are outside the UK you don't realise just how much censorship and manipulation the BBC get up to, Clarkson was even in an interview fairly recently saying how nice it was to be able to say the word "shit" again.

Things will get very interesting next year I suspect with those presenters, but for now they're a bit stuck because of their contracts.
1112  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's talk about how hot Asian girls are. [NSFW] on: June 10, 2015, 09:22:28 AM
What the fuck does the indonesian military have to do with talking about hot asian girls, stick to the politics and society section thanks, bye, yes it's bad, but this thread isn't to post about that.

1114  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are we, bitcoiners good at minding our own business? on: June 09, 2015, 08:52:32 PM
The only people who give a fuck about this sort of thing are pretty sad individuals who feel the need to socially engineer and micro-manage every aspect of people's lives, something I'm getting rather fucking annoyed with, more than usual lately. I grant the criticism that there really just aren't that many women in the Bitcoin community, but here's the thing, there aren't many women in engineering, in science, in industry and in management positions, however the people these politically motivated critics want to go in have to actually want to be there, you can't force somebody or pressure them to go into a career they won't like.

http://uk.businessinsider.com/report-top-gear-trio-headed-to-netflix-2015-6

Thanks to the media practically stalking the Top Gear presenters it looks like we'll be getting some real confirmation of whether they're going to Netflix or not in awhile, probably going to be sorted after they've done the live shows and such like I suspected.
1116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson to bring Top Gear to Netflix on: June 08, 2015, 03:22:06 PM
Well if any of you are keeping an eye on things, it's been spammed around House Of Cars is the name of the show, not holding my breath until I see an actual announcement from Netflix though. Regardless of what it's called, it will still be a million times better than the 'new' Top Gear the BBC will be planning.

Oddly enough, this reminds me very much of when the original developers of Operation Flashpoint left Codemasters, changed the name, but kept the gameplay and Codemasters failed miserably in producing anything as good.
1117  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: June 08, 2015, 01:19:54 PM
Stop fucking using the word fallacy or ad hominem to make yourselves sound clever, you don't know what it fucking means or how to use it in the correct context, it also makes you look incredibly stupid if you're trying to have an argument.

Yes, I'm getting more annoyed about this than religion lately, it's become a more pressing problem on the internet in particular.
1118  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson to bring Top Gear to Netflix on: June 08, 2015, 12:32:52 PM
The BBC are getting desperate and spreading misinformation about him and the whole deal now they've seen the viewing figures of the channel they had Top Gear on. The consensus seems to be so far that they're planning their own original show but we don't know which one yet, evidence points towards Netflix.
1119  Other / Politics & Society / [Rumour] Top Gear Presenters going to Netflix on: June 08, 2015, 09:13:40 AM
What are they going to call it? I read Chris Evans (the British ginger not the American actor) was filming a pilot to be the new host of Top Gear on the BBC or something. If Hammond May and Clarkson all go to Netflix BBC might as well cancel Top Gear because nobody will watch it.

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2015/jun/07/chris-evans-making-top-gear-film-replace-jeremy-clarkson

I'm convinced that the BBC are coming up with all sorts of bullshit to try and get Jeremy Clarkson out of the way including bribing Hammond and May lol Tongue

What's great is seeing all the extremely smug and arrogant guardian commenters etc. going on about how Top Gear is finally doomed, boy are they going to be angry if the Netflix deal happens Cheesy

Crypto markets are being incredibly boring right now for sure, but just wait until the next stock market crash guys, build up your funds and hold onto your coins.
