1221  Economy / Economics / Re: Are banks needed for crypto? on: October 14, 2021, 09:11:54 AM
I don't think so, there are payment apps that accepts crypto and converts it into fiat so I don't think that we're going to need bank in our crypto, not to mention that their obsolete, we don't need a middle man in crypto so no worthy reason why we need them in the cryptospace.

Yes we don't need anymore banks because crypto isn't made to be dependent on banks. More and more countries and legal tenders are now accepting transactions in the form of crypto and someday bitcoin and other leading cryptocurrencies will be legalized in the whole world and that's the specific goal of bitcoin.
In addition, banks nowadays aren't trustworthy anymore because anytime they can declare bankruptcy which we don't want to happen.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: October 14, 2021, 05:27:42 AM
I'm not sure if that would happen, passing the torch should be in the right guy and I think Gaballo is not the right guy for now. During the time of a young Donaire, he became popular because he beat a lot of champions and Gaballo has not made the same yet if I'm not mistaken.

Nonito Donaire was a nobody before he beat Vic Darchinyan via that devastating left hook, from that moment on people are expecting his every fight, and yeah he established a fan base in the Philippines because boxing fans love the way he knocks out his opponent. If Gaballo could beat Donaire then this is somewhat a changing of the guards and this Gaballo will become a household name at least in the Philippines.

There's news that Donaire has signed a promotional deal with Probellum, the lone bidder of that Casimero vs Butler fight. This sounds interesting as we all know how that company compromises the mandatory fight of Casimero.

He signs with that promotional company because surprise, surprised, it is being managed by Richard Schaeffer, the ex-CEO or president of Golden Boy, they have a fall out years ago and I wonder why it took years for Richard to built his own company.

As for the changing of the guards, this is a big step for Gaballo, not just in Philippines but in the US as well because he will become the full champion and for sure he can chase more lucrative fights in his career.

He can chase more fights on his career if he win against Donaire on this fight but this will be a tough match to him knowing that Donaire is a good counter puncher and still a great fighter even today. But this is a good match between both of the fighters knowing how good they are in the ring also their record is impressive so we can expect that we will see a good fight between this two great boxers in this generation.
It would really be a big step up on his career whenever he do have the chance on beating up Donaire since we know on whats the status or standing of Donaire itself on boxing world and if ever that Gaballo
would defeat him then that would be a huge upset yet for sure Donaire would be the main favorite on this one but we know that everything could happen in boxing on which underdogs could
definitely beat up the crap of those who are favorites. We dont know on whats coming but basing up on numbers then we can make presumptions.
The point here is, if he cannot defeat Donaire who is already not in his prime, there's no reason to believe that Gaballo would end up a champion in this division, so there's also a lot of pressure on him as it's his stepping stone to major success and Donaire could always say that he is not in his prime anymore that's why he lose, and also, there's nothing to prove anymore for Donaire as he has become champions many times.

You're right, Nonito Donaire is supposed to be a stepping stone for young Gaballo and the Philippine boxer is not in his prime anymore given his age and his last fights.
So if Gaballo couldn't defeat or even get a close score against Donaire then this young boxer isn't worth it to fight closely against other champions. But if Gaballo will win, for sure there will a be lot of line-up match afterwards and there'll be a promising future new for the young boxer.
1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: have you ever play or won from a crypto exchange lottery? on: October 13, 2021, 04:43:02 PM
in the last few days, I see more and more people posting they won from the lottery which is in pancakeswap
what surprises me is this account that claims he won 37.583 $CAKE or the equivalent of $548 (sorry I saw it wrong before)

what do you think, have you tried?

https://twitter.com/SAFUSHARK/status/1413012961778495491

Personally, it's not worth the time for me and never played on it. I want to make some pure profits and can looks some odds like regular gambling rather than wasting it on a lottery and just base it on my luck. Anyways, I'm not lucky on chance games or some lottery games that's why I keep myself away from it because otherwise it'll end me losing time and precious money.

Based on the screenshot you posted, that dude is one of a kind lucky guy. Hopefully it is not fake or scam.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: October 13, 2021, 03:45:06 PM
On the other note, If he cannot win, I bet he'll be back in boxing doing the exhibition matches like Floyd.
Most probably as he might spend a lot of money during his campaign and if he loses, he will lose billions of money. An exhibition fight means no pressure for him and who knows, we might see him fight Floyd in a rematch and both will make a decent amount for sure.

Yes, looks like we there won't be any news on Many Pacquaio because he will be busy for now and spend more time during the election campaign. Indeed he'll be spending much cash to promote his name but his latest poll about the election isn't running smoothly with him.

Yea I guess so too that if ever he'll be defeated in this upcoming election, we will see Pacman doing exhibition fight and likely to fight Floyd Mayweather again.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Gold: Superiority on: October 12, 2021, 01:46:21 PM
Question

The price of gold fell 10.5% since the beginning of the year, but the price of Bitcoin gained 332%. Bitcoin, in the same decade, has returned 146% annually, compared to gold's 0% per year. Is it really necessary for us to still debate which of the two is superior?

Here are my thoughts

A valuable store of value and medium of exchange, gold has been around for five thousand years.

Despite Bitcoin's success, do not let your enthusiasm for it turn into arrogance or (worse still) stupidity. In addition to bitcoins, the world values many other assets, including gold and oil.

How do you feel about this?

Gold has been in our world for a thousands of years now and it has been proven historically as an investment or an asset and it has been a luxury provided to make much more in return.
But bitcoin is far more superior than gold in this era, bitcoin is undoubtedly much more valuable as an asset/investment than the gold and provides much more return. Given that the bitcoin is highly volatile and extremely risky but it's still proven to make huge returns.

But the scarcity of gold will make some huge impact on the price of gold in the years to come. For now I'd say that the bitcoin is much more superior than the gold.
1226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past three months bitcoin journey on: October 12, 2021, 10:35:24 AM
I am away from my home working in an office and it is hard to manage both work and house at the same time for me as i came late from office. So most of the time I order food online say 3-4 times in week and was happy with that until the point i realised that i was wasting lot of money on junk food. So i decided to have my future plans as i was already investing in bitcoin so i decided to reduce my weekly budget for ordering online food and decided to invest that money into bitcoin despite the prices and just go on investing till the time being. But i made a plan that every time i would add on the fixed budget of $10 extra to btc investment and from next month increased my intial investment by $10 also. For example say my weekly budget or food expenditure was $40-$50 weekly on my 3-4 order i would reduce it to half and say invest $25 weekly and next week it would be turned to $35.Along with this I was also planning to buy some gaming stuff for my time pass but i dropped that idea for the same reason and decided that i would keep on investing in bitcoin only not any other altcoin also .So this was my plan and investment was done every week.

I got bonus from my office this month for extra performance along with my paycheck so i decided to to go mile extra this time with bitcoin investment and invested another $100 from the same bonus to bitcoin investment and will make some bonus investments as I get them with my paycheck.

BONUS $100 INVESTMENT AT $43600 = BTC0.00229

I have doing this from past three months now and planning it to carry on for long time as i know that my returns will be high in long run and my wasting that money on my food items would have given me happiness and relaxation for few time but this investment at this time would be long lasting and give me pleasure and joy for lifetime. So I decided to compromise my that things for bitcoin investments as it will surely have more value in future when every other assest will be depreciated with inflation but my this investment will prove worthy at that time.

Speaking frankly I was happy at this dip as i was getting big share at small prices and they don't even matter for me because i was not into trading and my sole motive was to invest and hold for long time no matter what the prices are and will be.I have decided to follow this plan for atleast 6 months and will keep posting the updates on this thread. So i am constantly reducing my miscellaneous expenses and allocating that funds towards bitcoin and i will not panic with any price dumps and afford to loose that money(but it will not happen as i am optimistic) and will hold that coins until i need to use them.Till then my 6 months chart is on for investments  Wink

EDIT: The thread has been updated with this month DCA investments and Bonus investments made by me and will keep this in same manner.

Sounds like someone is getting more comfortable soon in the near future, congratulations! And for that it's very commendable because not everyone have that kind of mindset. There's nothing harmful if you decide to order your food online because you have a busy schedule and as long that it's highly nutritious unlike junk foods.
This one is especially for newbies who wants to invest for their future or for someone that doesn't know that you can buy bitcoins with just a small fraction and not the whole coin.

Thanks OP!

1227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If the internet is down in the future on: October 12, 2021, 08:25:14 AM
I think there's no news about crypto project that is independent and can even transact without internet. Almost all of the transactions and technoligies in todays generation are highly dependent on the use of internet. So if the internet will be down in the near future, the whole world will go down too to even cryptocurrencies aren't exempted.

But if someday in the near future that the internet won't be of any use anymore, for sure there will be a forecast on what day or year that we can't use internet anymore. And there will a be a medium or invention that will replace internet.

1228  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you been grateful for today? on: October 12, 2021, 06:32:27 AM
I just opened Facebook and read a short, but meaningful post. in the post it says

Quote
A mountain of gold would not be enough for a greedy person.
But, a plate of food is enough for a grateful person

I ponder when I do daily trading in the crypto market, I often get profit even though it is not too much, But I am always annoyed and irritated if the profit I get is not on target. I forgot to be grateful and hopefully, I can be a grateful person even though I get a little profit from crypto trading.

Being here in the crypto world and making profits no matter how small or big you get is already a reason for me to be grateful as long as it is a gain. But sometimes we tend to be greedy to make some big profits even though we know the risks because ofcourse I think it is natural for us to be greedy sometimes.
For me, I'm trying to be grateful for everything I have now especially when I get profits daily or weekly because of bitcoin and it does really helps my life to be more comfortable and for my family.

Being greedy doesn't help us to get our goal instead it makes us stumble more often and get irritated when we lose.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM stolen in a liquior store on: October 11, 2021, 05:08:53 PM

https://twitter.com/scottbudman/status/1446540818316070917

This is the surveillance video of the liquor store itself, showing how they stole it.

Maybe this will be the new trend for criminals, breaking and stealing Bitcoin ATM across US.

Hopefully the public can help identify this crooks.

I know that this will eventually happen, stealing bitcoin ATM will be mostly a target and it wasn't a smart move either because they're just want the cash (fiat) they probably didn't know that it is impossible to steal bitcoins, and they're thinking that the ATM have a physical bitcoins on it.  Maybe that place was already under their surveillance for a couple of days or even weeks just to get that ATM.

Anyways, it's much safer to develop the bitcoin ATMs that have more security feature and cannot be stolen that easily.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legalization. In Ukraine and now Laos on: October 11, 2021, 03:19:26 PM
Asian nation Laos to legalize Bitcoin mining and trading

I am suspicious on the word legalize. It can be used inaccurately and I think we will need more time to see it is really a legalization or just a fake news, a misleading term using on media.

I mean terms like ban, legalize can be used and misled by social media and whales.

Laos has cheap electricity price, you can check the chart: https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/electricity_prices/
Will the nation appears on the World Mining Map and move closely to nations like Kazakhstan or Ukraine? https://cbeci.org/mining_map

Wether this is true or not, it's still a good news for the bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies around today. Eventually, more and more countries and governments will start to welcome and legalize cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin because it's the most trusted and famous among other coins.

Soon, the neighboring countries not just in South East Asia but most of the Asian countries will start to legalize and accepts transactions in the form of bitcoins or its digital currency. Few years from now, I know that bitcoin will shine brighter than ever before.
1231  Economy / Economics / Re: How to protect from inflation? on: October 11, 2021, 09:00:52 AM
Hello community,

I want to start a topic that I think is interesting for the immediate future of cryptocurrency investors, the inflation. One of the consequences of the global pandemic we are experiencing seems almost certain to be the injection of money into the world's economies at levels never seen before. This will undoubtedly lead to an increase in inflation.

I leave you the link (https://www.docdroid.net/H1fuimX/the-great-monetary-inflation-pdf) to a paper by a very well known and knowledgeable on the subject that talks about the performance of Central Banks and different ways to protect our assets against possible inflation. In my opinion there are very coherent things that are worth knowing. It is true that I personally disagree on some points but in general, I think it will be useful for everyone. Here is an image of the ways to protect our assets that Mr. Tudor Jones talks about in his article:

I think you might find it interesting and helpful. I hope you find it useful and give your opinion on the subject.

Gold or any precious metals such as silver or platinum might be a best defense against inflation and it is historically proven. Commodities as well like crude, oils and grains are useful to protect yourself from inflation and even real estates because time to time that asset can be profitable as 3x your invested money.

But since we're in bitcoin, it is also believed that bitcoin or any top ranking crypto nowadays can be also used to escape or evade inflation but it is not guaranteed that it's the best defense from inflation because its volatility can't assure you. Still many trusts bitcoin as an investment to protect from yearly increased inflation.
1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT for money laundering? on: October 11, 2021, 07:35:33 AM
I suspect high level organizations or scammers have already using NFTs to launder their money, for starters they can just create any arts they can and have the desired amount to match their laundered money to have a clean NFT money. And because NFT is easy to use they can launder everything have without even cracked down by the governments.

But sooner or later the government will know this system they're using but even if they can crack any criminals in NFT. There's still a lot of escape route other than NFT itself.
1233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi about to show up? on: October 11, 2021, 06:13:20 AM
Hello, I was wondering why 21M? maybe SN wanted to keep 1M himself, then, when BTC hits 1.000.000, donate 1.000.000.000.000 to charities or make some kind of good actions? would be great, besides of giving us this beautifull gift. Its about to happen any time soon....thanks for reading.

If Satoshi Nakamoto decides to show up then for sure it'll be in the headlines within that hour. The Founder himself/herself reveals his/her true identity will be on the news for several weeks. But I don't think that the founder will move that 1M because it will be such a huge mess or the system will crash, I think.

But I think NS will never reveal his/her identity for security purposes or maybe because the name Satoshi Nakamoto is a group behind the curtain.
1234  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 10, 2021, 10:33:32 AM
Almost everyday is good to invest in bitcoin, if you have what it takes then you should do it today especially if the market are dipping low because there's always a high chance that the market will recover immediately. Do always mind that the price is so volatile and make it as an advantage to yourself.
If you can invest today then do it today, don't wait for tomorrow. Generally speaking, every single day there's a new investor in bitcoin that makes profits rather than those who just shows interest and doesn't make any move.

This pandemic shows us that it is good for the bitcoin and still the best way to invest your funds. Invest only what you can afford because there's always a risk of losing.
1235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the crypto hype over? on: October 10, 2021, 07:32:44 AM
For some reason, Elon Musk stopped tweeting about DOGE and even Bitcoin, making people lose interest in crypto these days. Add to this the China miner ban, and regulatory action against Binance exchange and you'll see why the market hasn't gone up that much within the last 2 months (approximately). Bitcoin is still struggling to reach a new ATH, while ETH doesn't get past $3k per coin.

Sometimes I wonder if the crypto hype is over. "De-Fi" and NFTs are still a big hit, but interest/demand seems to be slowly declining. I'm guessing the next Bitcoin halving will "revive" the hype. But there's no guarantee this will happen since crypto behaves in many strange and bizarre ways.

Do you think the crypto hype is over? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Even if Elon Musk or any famous richest man/woman in the world gives a bad remark on bitcoin, I don't think that it'll be a huge impact on bitcoin to drop or maintain its curb. Only those fool who followed them are losing interests, don't forget that they're just using their names to give impact on the industry or market for them to ride and have as much profit they could have.
As you see even if China (another supercountry) bans every transaction or use that connects to bitcoin, bitcoin market wasn't that much affected.

Surely this hype is over and another hype will come and take over in the near future and many other countries will join and legalize bitcoin in their respective countries.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The misconception when buying/investing in Bitcoin on: October 10, 2021, 05:56:49 AM
Bitcoin was introduced to me on 2013 but I started when the price is $15k per btc on late 2015. Since I joined I've been kept telling myself that if only I joined my friends 2years ago, maybe my life was more comfortable now because all I see is the price of 1 whole bitcoin and not knowing that I can still buy bitcoin with just a small fraction and use it to invest and make some profit.

Most misconception about buying or investing in bitcoin is that the more bitcoin you buy, the bigger profit you have. But that's not the case because even if the price will increase 60%, everyone who have bitcoins will have their own share and no matter how big or small bitcoins you have, you still have the fair share of increase.
1237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson on: October 09, 2021, 04:27:25 PM
I'm looking forward to see a good toe-to-toe fight between this two great fighters. Their match records are close to one another, looks like it will be a split decision and not via KO.
Although Jamel Herring has the advantage of this fight with a height (5'10") and reach (183cm) than Shakur Stevenson's height (5'7") and reach (173cm) but I don't think that will count as an odd because they're both known and a great fighter.

Still I want to see this two boxers fight on October 23 this year and it's yet too early to place the odds between these two fighters.
1238  Economy / Economics / Re: Why criminals prefer cash (Fiat) on top of crypto? on: October 09, 2021, 12:14:07 PM
Criminals always prefer fiat money since then, it is because if they were to make a heist in a group then fiat money easy and best way to divide it according to the plan and also it is untraceable. Even if it comes directly from the bank, the government can't track all those cash (fiat) that have scattered remotely.

While if they plan to attack on crypto, the chances of making it successful is too small and it's not worth of their time. Most of the criminals are in need of instant cash and not in the form of cryptos because if they were to exchange it in cash then they'll be having a hard time to cover their tracks.
1239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think on: October 09, 2021, 09:59:58 AM
I fellas I have two questions to ask crypto experts and investors in this forum today

1. Is this a good time to build crypto portfolio?
2. Do you really think that bear market will be a dipping as 2018?

Now that crypto is gaining more investors day by day and crypto adoption is increasing massively I don't think that the next bear market will be crazily low like 2018/2019, what do you think?

1. Almost every single day is indeed a good time to build crypto portfolio, yes there will be always a risk but it's so low than the previous years. Build now while you can and enjoy the profit later rather than just thinking when. Time is money my friend!

2. I don't think that the market would dip that much just like in 2018. Given that the price is extremly volatile, still it can't be as lower than $3,000 - $4,000. I think that dip was caused by the negative remarks of some big investors and also by China's banning on btc.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar supporters destroy Bitcoin ATM in El Salvador on: October 09, 2021, 08:45:44 AM
If you don't like bitcoin, you can simply not use it and just continue using your preferred. Why need to cause damage? It's not like fiat users are going to be affected. Something's just so suspicious about this.

Yes you're right, something is so fishy about their actions. I know for sure that there's some USD overlords that ordered behind this nonsense action.
I'm pretty sure that the government in El Salvador was pissed and I want to know what legal action they'll do because everyone knows that destroying government properties are illegal anywhere in the world. It's just that their actions aren't match on how they should react on the legalization of bitcoin in El Salvador.

On the other hand, surely bitcoin has gained so much trust nowadays because some countries are already on the path of legalizing cryptos.
