Manchester City is very dependent on some key players if they don't have these players you can't expect to have good performances from this team anymore which is not good for a team like Manchester City at this level they are. We saw a dramatic match between Manchester City and Newcastle and I think Manchester City was just lucky to have the player, Oscar Bobb score one goal in the last minute of the game and helped them win.  It is because of the effectiveness of those key players that made Manchester City management to sign them and if the club relies in the to be able to get good results, I don't think it's a bad idea. Gone are the days when teams win trophies because of total commitment of players because these days, a club have to be financial fit enough to sign quality and world class players to be able to win trophies and that's what Manchester City are actually doing. Copenhagen have managed to become runners up in group A which I thought from the start it would not be possible for them to qualify from this group, but the fact is that they showed a good performance compared to Galatasaray and Manchester United, it was a surprise for me who underestimated Copenhagen because they played with a good structure so that it can balance the games of Manchester United and Galatasaray including Munich. I misjudged them. Unfortunately, they have to meet Manchester City in the round of 16 when Manchester City's key players are starting to recover from injuries, including KDB. Luck is a word that fits Napoli for their efforts to beat Salernitana. The real strongest candidates to win the Asian Cup are definitely Japan and Korea.
The squad is complete and many play in Europe. for South Korea there is Son Heung Min super star and top score totenham hotspur. Hwang He Chan is Wolverhampon's striker and is temporarily the top scorer in Wolverhamton's team.
I think that between the two, Japan has the biggest chance. In friendly matches his performance was crazy, slaughtering all the opposing teams with a landslide score of over 3 goals. There's no doubt to the fact that both Japan and South Korea are the favorites to win the tournament but should for any reason, Japan and South Korea makes it to the final, I'll be banking my money on South Korea to win Japan and lift the trophy. About Roma I can just say that Mourinho has an incomplete job to do in the Europa League.  They were so close to winning the title last season but because of having problems with the referee also they lost their chance to Sevilla instead. At least Mourinho believes that as he was very angry at Anthony Taylor back then it the finale. But can they do this time? I have big doubts about that as long as Leverkusen and Liverpool teams are present. Roma will need to have Lukaku and Dybala both in their games from now on to increase their chance. Because I can clearly say that these are the most crucial players for the team this season. I honestly don't think that they will be able to do it. Because there are other better teams. And those teams are also performing better compared to them (Roma). I simply do not think that the current performance of Roma is going to be good enough for them to be able to win the Europa League competition. If you ask me who has the chance, I will say it's Leverkusen, They have the better chance to win. After all, they are performing well and better than anyone. This is a very exciting match for Leverkusen fans of course because they will definitely think this match will end with a share of points. However, it must be admitted that the way Leverkusen pressed the Augsburg defense was extraordinary, the Leverkusen players never gave up until they finally managed to score a goal in the added minute. It was extraordinary, this victory was certainly very disappointing for Bayern Munich fans because they were unable to reduce the points even though on the other hand Bayern Munich managed to beat Hoffenheim with a landslide victory. For me, the Augsburg vs Leverkusen match can be interpreted as a sign that Leverkusen will win the Bundesliga title this season. The reason is that this match was difficult but almost didn't go according to Alanso's wishes, but in the end he was able to win in the final minutes. Bayer Leverkusen is now unbeaten in 26 games thanks to manager Xabi Alonso's incredible tactical works at the German club. In the beginning of the season, very few persons would've believed that Bayer Leverkusen will go 17 league games without conceding a defeat but that's actually the reality of things at the club at the moment and the good thing about it is they're not even showing any sign of declining anytime soon. No, Newcastle won't win if they don't change the way they play. Kevin De Bruyne, yes that's him. 1 goal and 1 assist made Manchester City take the lead in the second half and it was something special when he got playing minutes. As I said, Newcastle will not win the game when they are just intent on defending completely throughout the second half and fortunately Manchester City really took their chances well. The entry of Kevin De Bruyne brought many changes to Manchester City's game as a whole. He is a leader or field general who can make the team play more focused and calm. Evidently, he was able to change the course of the match and recorded 1 assist and 1 goal to win 3 points from Newcastle. Just like I predicted, Manchester City still fought back into the game and it is the big man Kelvin De Bruyne that rose up to the big occasion. It’s been an interesting turn of event so far in the Newcastle vs Manchester City fixture. Where we have had the league favorites take the lead and in no time, lose that lead to Newcastle United. Manchester City has been ridden with errors after errors. Enderson had his round of errors before catching an injury and was substituted from the pitch, S. Ortega came in and you could see him making similar mistakes as Enderson.
Newcastle United continues to surprise me, some of there energy sterns from them having to play from a home side but, a part of me still tells me to be weary of Manchester United. You can’t really write them off and it would be interesting to see what changes Pep would bring on in the second half.

The second half has started and Pep Guardiola doesn't want Manchester City's defense to be as bad as the first half. If Newcastle wins and they deserve to get past Manchester United. For me, that is the rule because Newcastle will have more points than Manchester United if they are able to win until the end. Considering that there are still 45 minutes left in the match, it is not certain that Newcastle will win and I want this match to end in a draw. In this second half, Pep will issue his best strategy for Manchester City players to practice. In the first half of the game, Manchester City were the better side until they scored the in the 26th minute started feeling relaxed and that gave Newcastle United the needed opportunity to strike back and luckily for them, they did that in quick succession. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is a very experienced manager and isn't new to this kind of game result so I expect him to know what to do in other to bring his team back in to the game. Sevilla's form worries me. Given their record, losing to Alaves is stunning. They have allowed 30 goals in 20 matches, a poor defense. Its a far cry from last season, when they won the Europa League without a good league performance. After Diego Alonso left, the coaching change may have contributed to this downturn. Why Sevilla can surprise in Europe yet suffer locally is puzzling. If they dont sharpen their defense and develop consistency, they could be relegated.
I am also very confused about what Sevilla has experienced since last season until this season, because when Sevilla managed to get the European League trophy last season while their local league was not good enough it raised big questions. So it is quite possible that this is due to the departure of their old coach, Diego Alonso, and at the moment Sevilla seems to have really sunk to the point where it seems quite difficult to recover from their bad results so far. Sevilla's performance in all competitions since the start of the season I think is the worst in the past five years because I've followed proceedings about the team in the last five years. The team is absolutely in shambles at the moment and it seems no one including the club manager and management knows exactly what to do in other to bring them back to winning ways again. Sevilla are currently sitting in the 17th position of the Spanish La Liga table and are just one point above relegation zone. Cadiz who are in the 18th position have played one game less than Sevilla and that means that if for any reason they win their game this weekend, they're gonna move above the winners of last season's UEFA Europa League trophy. The English Premier League game between Chelsea and Fulham at Stamford Bridge earlier today was actually a very tough game. It was a closely contested game which did not produce as much goals as it was mostly predicted before the kick off. That was the first game of today and just like many, I expected a more entertaining match that'll produce more number of goals than we saw but surprisingly it didn't as the home side made sure they protected the slim lead till the final whistle. That was Chelsea's third straight win in the league and hopefully they'll continue with their current performance to move further up the league table. |
