1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 07, 2023, 12:35:09 PM
Boys. It is time to quit gamble. I created a topic about taking gambling as a major income or not and fought a lot of kind people who held an opposite point. I own them a truly apology. I am sorry. No matter who you are, gambling is only for fun. Never take it as income at anytime. If you are still gambling, you should quit now. If you cannot quit by yourself, there are so many channels to help you. Even you can talk to me. I will do my best to help you.

Just some chemical reaction happened in my mind today, I get the point at that moment. Gambling for income is totally wrong and toxic for spirit and body. You will never be successful in that way. But I like gamble is still the fact and it will never change if doing nothing. So, why not open a stream and show it to all people who have interest on that. Let me prove how hard or easy to quit gamble. I will only gamble the affordable fund only. Maybe less. I am streaming 24/7. If some software problems disrupt, I will fix that except sleeping time.

Quit gambling now!

If you decide to quit gamble or take gamble as entertainment only, welcome to join me.

I hate gamble!

Update 1
Boys. You can't imagine how relax I am when decide to quit gamble. Here is the way. I will stream all my gambling behavior with recording. No stream No gamble. If you are going through the same situation, join me. You will obtain a new life.

What's with people in this forum dialing everything to 11 and taking radical stances over everything? Can't we just all be partial? You literally could still gamble and have fun without ever thinking of it as a source of income, so what makes you think that ditching it is the great answer, I mean talking about this makes me sound like an addict lmao but there's no other way we could drive the point any more. All of it boils down to what you really want to get out of your gambling habits. If all you want is an hour or two of fun and nothing more then go for it, if you're seeing gambling as a way for you to earn money that's where the problem starts. You don't have to go full ballistic in here saying that everyone should quit gambling.

Happy for you though, you found out the problem and cut the head of the snake as fast as possible, perhaps gambling just isn't for you and that's okay.
1362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 05, 2023, 11:32:18 PM
There is always an element of randomness in sports events, which makes their results unpredictable. Even with good strategy and analysis, one cannot rule out the impact of an unforeseen event on outcomes. I think,  Because of this, even the most experienced sports betting players cannot achieve steady profits in the long run.
I think it's funny that OP praised his post like that. I mean of course eventually all gamblers will find themselves losing on a game regardless of how good they are with their strats and discipline, this isn't a zero risk activity after all. But if in the case that's not what he meant and he meant something along the lines of gamblers losing all of their bankroll and ending up on a negative net profit, it's all because of randomness as you have said, and at the same time the greed and hubris that you get when you won something massive and you suddenly think you're invincible. You would be lying if you say you didn't feel this and answered this overwhelming sense of pride which then lead you to losses you didn't think you could recover from.

It's a truth of life, people will inevitably fail sooner or later and there's nothing to it.
1363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling scenario that keeps repeating on you on: July 05, 2023, 10:41:54 PM
I have this kind of gambling scenario that I’m always experiencing when I’m gambling. Whenever I use bankroll that is close to 00 like 80, 180, 290, 360 and so on always result to a lose in the end. It’s very hard for me to surpass the nearest 00’ milestone no matter how hard I try on betting slow or quick. I knew the problem is I’m rushing to achieve that goal to have a closure that makes me struggle on the game instead of focusing on being happy to play the game.

FYI, I’m always winning easily above 00 target that I’m struggling to get from the above scenario when I start my bankroll far lower from 00 balance like 30, 40,130, 330 and so on. I hope that you get I mean on my balance description.

Do you have this kind of same scenario that puts you on an infinite loop when you are gambling as in you don’t move forward at all?
Either that's just you and your pattern-loving brain to blame for this post, or there's really something going on lmao. Have you tried this with a different casino? Have you made extensive studies and experiments to determine whether what you're saying is really valid? Cause if you'd ask me, and I mean this in a way that doesn't come from a place of insulting you or whatnot, but perhaps you haven't played that much games to begin with, so much so that every loss you get, you attribute to something else instead of looking inward and realizing that when you gamble, you immediately sign yourself up to the risk of losing. So maybe go back and give us an update if an extensive research was made that could prove or debunk your claim.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Virtual bug? on: July 05, 2023, 10:18:41 PM
I work for a casino house a couple of years ago - I could make a serial reference since it's been said in most of my post here.
Alright,?? Cashiers were assigned to manage the activities and book on desired games for all validated customers, but i normally noticed something very displeasing - sometimes, I felt bad for any gambler that lost in that same way and It looked to me like a kinda "money heist" program.
Here is it; A gambler could bet on correct scores - mind you, this all happens only in Virtual games - let's say, 3-0 and, since the games are being displayed on screens for them to confirm Thier winnings, it could even happen that the game stops at the 82nd minute, maybe with a 2-0 score, but once it rules out and updates the scores on the score sheets,.what we all see is 2-5...
Now the question is, how can 5 goals from the away teams be scored in barely a time to blink?? Could that have supposed to mean something different? Maybe a bug? Or is it some sort of misprogramming?

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
I don't get this entirely, so does this mean that casinos are actively making efforts all to ensure that players won't win? Do you have any proof of this? Cause if this is so then we're probably looking at a class-action lawsuit against multiple chains of gambling sites/casinos if proven that these casinos/sportsbooks are actively undermining their players in the name of profit. But for now, given the fact that we don't really have enough evidence going on besides the fact that you said you "worked for a casino one time and you saw this", it's safe to assume that this is just a visual bug or a bug in the system that could easily be fixed to give the players the peace of mind they need. This is most especially if the outcomes don't change and the players are still receiving their wins.
1365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Discussion - Being an Active Poster in the Gambling Board on: July 05, 2023, 09:43:24 PM
Our history of posts indicates that many of us are active contributors to the gambling board. We engage in discussions about various aspects of gambling, including sports betting, different casino games, and even stories, whether real or fictional. The topic of gambling addiction has been extensively covered, to the point where one could compile a short book on the subject just from our discussions. We have also shared our opinions and insights on gambling strategies. Considering all of this, I would like to ask:

  • Has being an active participant in the gambling section helped you develop more effective strategies for winning bets?
  • Has it aided you in overcoming gambling addiction (if you were addicted) or developing healthier gambling habits?
  • Have you noticed an overall improvement in your gambling experiences?

Let's delve into this topic because beyond simply increasing post counts, there must be genuine benefits to actively participating in these discussions.
It did actually. Looking back from where I was in 2019-2020, I would say that I was in too deep into my gambling addiction, and if not for intervention from friends and myself, all thanks to the gambling discussion by the way which back then had no shortage of constructive topics that discussed the dangers of gambling addiction and how you can get off it in the quickest time possible. It had helped me create healthier habits when gambling which I in turn share to people.

The problem with the current face of the gambling discussion board is that, compared to how it was in the past I can tell that people are just making posts about their gambling addiction to gain attention and not really apply all the "help" they asked for in their posts, which is a bummer.
1366  Economy / Gambling / Re: What other gambling sites offers free bitcoins like freebitco on: July 05, 2023, 09:08:08 PM
I would say that the time where faucets are relevant and useful are already over. Bitcoin's valuable right now and it's getting harder and harder to mine and allocate bitcoins to people nowadays, especially if they don't get anything from it other than internet traffic. sites like Freebtc stayed afloat because of ad revenue and the fact that they involved gambling in the equation which then lead to them being able to recycle cryptocurrencies from players who lost and have these bitcoins gained from player's losses be allocated back into the treasury. Other forms of faucet on the internet are nothing short of scams or baits that are there to ensnare you and keep you occupied with ads and access without ever giving the profit they had promised.
1367  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: July 03, 2023, 11:19:40 PM
It's just a hypothetical question and says nothing about me. I decided to open thread with this question for a lot of reasons which I'll explain down below.

If you think about inflation, taxes and your salary at the same time, you'll understand how the government eats you alive. Let's start with the fact that იf you live in Europe and have a normal salary, you have to leave almost half of it in taxes. Then, when you want to go for shopping and buy something in store, including food, clothes, technics, etc, you have pay your taxes of those items with already taxed money. Then, the store owner has to pay taxes of the income his store generated. Distributors, who deliver things to these stores, have to pay taxes too. Then there are vehicle taxes, property taxes. So, absolutely everything is taxed and on top of that, our salary is taxed and even on top of that, we experience inflation. This is not fair!

So, my legitimate question is, after all the robbery, a person, who doesn't pay taxes, is a bad person for the society or not? More likely I want to get answer from those whose countries have a model similar of European healthcare and employment insurance.

You’re liable to accept punishments from tax-related issues if and only if you kept at it design people all in all, while the other is if you abused the glitch in the system which could happen. So with that regard, if you took it multiple times. Plus you can’t be worrying about your taxes when there are countless character on the market, as long you don’t so anything funny god walls are so funny and in this hypothetical characteristic. So all in all, if uou don’t do anything stupid from Alpha’s room. You’re pretty much absolved every one you blocksd.
1368  Economy / Economics / Re: Has everyone become too pesimistic about the economy? on: July 03, 2023, 10:41:50 PM
I'm a pleb like most of you, and I too have, many times, become pesimistic about the economy in general and in what's about to come. But has anyone ever considered that,

- The economy is not going to crash into a recession
- That there will be an actual soft landing
- That the Russia - Ukraine war will not escalate into a European war
- That Gensler CAN'T truly ban crypto
- Institutional investors will come back and take Bitcoin to six digits

I'm probably missing more narratives, but you get the idea.
It's one thing to be pessimistic, but it's also another to be realistic. I enjoy thinking about things getting better eventually since that keeps me off the constant ringing of problems in my head at the very least, but this economic and global struggle we're in isn't going to end or be gone with a few papers signed and hands shaken. You have to understand that the people who involved themselves in this mess had a clear motive in mind that diplomacy in this stage of the scuffle isn't going to fix.

These goes for everything that we're dealing with right now, crypto at risk of getting banned, Russia not relenting from annexing Ukraine, China's housing bubble collapsing, among other issues, as well as other stuff. This is real, this is happening, optimism is great but if it takes your eyes off of the real situation it becomes delusion.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Not your keys, Not your coins" is not enough on: July 03, 2023, 10:20:41 PM
« Not your Keys, Not your Coins ». « Don’t keep your Bitcoin on exchanges »

These advices are excellent, and no rational person with a genuine interest for Bitcoin should ignore them. There's no need to explain why, when you consider the number of scandals, scams, exit scams and accounts frozen / seized by the different CEX; because, let's not forget, CEXs work hand in hand with governments.
All the people advising this are therefore informed that CEXs are not reliable, do not work in our personal interest, and rightly so.

However, every time I read this on the internet, people stop at the Bitcoin storage step. That's not enough. There's another important step: exchanging Bitcoin.

So why not just advise and tell people to stop using CEX entirely? Bitcoin is by nature decentralized, why make it centralized? Why should a CEX that doesn't deserve to store our financial funds, our cryptos, deserve to be left with our banking and personal information?
Is it really that important to take the risk of having your funds frozen, losing your personal data, and enriching these useless people? Who wants to contribute to CZ's wealth, or encourage Coinbase in their disgusting practices?

Some will reply that CEX users choose "convenience ". Even that's not true! How is passing your KYC to Binance and using their UI easier than installing/using the Peachbitcoin (for example) app? It’s not! The only reason CEXs are in this position is because they benefit from substantial advertising resources.

We have effecient, fast, simple, user-friendly and totally P2P solutions at our disposal. For example :

-Bisq, a great P2P exchange, focused on privacy
-PeachBitcoin, their motto is #KYCfree
-Robosats, simple and efficient for those using Lightning network
-Majestic Bank, where you can swap BTC and XMR in a privacy-friendly way
-LocalMonero, another P2P exchange platform ; privacy focused

There are plenty of others, which you can easily find on kycnot.me

So why not advise people to use these services, in addition to advising them to use a non-custodial wallet?
Why shouldn't we be as enthusiastic about advising people not to use and register on CEX as we are about not storing their BTC there?

Not your keys, not your coins. No CEX at all.

P.S. : In this topic I'm not interested in altcoins and launchpad / launchpool type products, I'm only talking about Bitcoin exchange and storage. Personally, I don't think any launchpad justify a KYC procedure, but it's up to each individual to determine his or her priorities.

For those who want to read more on this subject, I highly recommend this topic from GazetaBitcoin

While I agree with you, and truth be told I support with all my heart and soul the novel advocacy that bitcoin drives thanks to its decentralized nature, there's a method to the madness that these people who support and use CEXs are under.

For some, it's the convenience that it brings, "don't worry about the KYC process as they say, it's the one that's got 5 stars in the App Store, it got good reviews on Google Play, and a lot of people around me are using it, so why shouldn't I?" is some of their argument, which is a strong one at that too cause for me, there's little that could compete with convenience and efficiency, two things that CEX are able to do so with finesse. The paradigm is slowly changing however, as more and more people see how flawed the CEX world is, so in the future, it's pretty possible that more people use decentralized no KYC platforms in stead of the ones that we use right now.
1370  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is happening in France? on: July 03, 2023, 10:00:48 PM
There is already an existing thread for this discussion and I advise you to continue with that discussion instead of creating another thread for the same discussion.

Back to the topic:  Police brutality has been on the increase across the globe and I wonder why officers of the law who are meant to protect the citizen's right are the same violating those rights to the point of committing extrajudicial killing of the 17 years who is underage so this has resulted into the unrest witnessed a cross french over the last weeks.
This goes way back too, which was evidenced by the fact that France has been in the headlines for quite a while now, and the existence of previous threads about this issue. It still all boils down to dissatisfaction with how the government is being run for the interest of the few instead of the many, and the ongoing police brutality debacle. If there's one thing about France that we should know of, it's that they don't take these things lightly, especially if it causes massive disruption in their way of living, I mean, their Marie Antoinette was parted from her head for a reason, and so was their king.

So yeah, you fuck with the French people you'll get the horns. That's pretty much it, and Until they are satisfied with how the government works and the dissolution of the current police system in place, this is gonna carry on for a while.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 03, 2023, 09:39:34 PM
Yes, you read that accurately.

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

It's just a thought I've had for a while and decided to ask here in the community.

I think conventionally, both online and land-based lottery impose strict expiration dates on all tickets they issue, this is to ensure that every draw is made fresh and so people don't use old tickets with potential jackpots in them to get an unfair advantage against the competition. So you might as well use all of them in one go or at least before they expire. For land-based casinos it usually expires on the particular draw date and any further time will render the ticket void and invalid. Online lotteries on the other hand may impose lengthy expiration dates as much as they please. It's all about the system and what works best for these casinos really.

So again, you might wanna use those up before they become useless piles of paper or junk in your online inventory.
1372  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 03, 2023, 09:11:32 PM
Get jobs, get more jobs if you can, if you can't take another job on top of what you have right now, learn a skill or a craft, preferably one that is not as time consuming, not stressful, and not something as major as your current employment, look into baking, writing, tutoring, all that stuff. These crafts pay good and are not that much of a hassle (except baking as it requires you to have some sort of practical training). From there, hone your skill, master your craft, and build a clientelle. I actually suggest that you offer your services for free in the first few months of you opening your side hustle and only ask that these people recommend yourself to other people within their circle of acquaintances that is in need of your services.

This is what worked for me and I was able to get out of my dead-end job at a call center agency and find a better work-life balance that I enjoy till this day.
1373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your thought on: July 03, 2023, 08:37:49 PM
I'm curious about the recent pump in Bitcoin's price. What are your thoughts on the factors that contributed to this surge? Do you believe it was primarily driven by positive news, investor speculation, increased mainstream awareness, or a combination of these factors? How do you think this pump will impact the overall cryptocurrency market? Looking forward to hearing your insights and opinions!"
BlackRock's ETF getting accepted by the SEC, the SEC creating clear distinctions that it is not after bitcoin, only unregulated investment assets or or speculative tokens that provide no real value to the industry, and the recent lack of anything negative to say about bitcoin, partnered by the fact that MicroStrategy just bought bitcoins again by the thousand, and the overall excitement that people have for the halving event that will happen soon next year.

All of this contributed to a pretty substantial increase in valuation over these past few days. Is this sustainable, will bitcoin be able to stay in this price point for a longer time? Only time will tell, but we still have a couple more months until the big thing happens so might as well enjoy this!
1374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 will determined bitcoin fate on: July 03, 2023, 08:16:56 PM
It's funny when people cartoonishly deflates the essence and value of bitcoin over its price. There were people here who bought bitcoin when it was worth peanuts, there were people here who bought it when it was skyrocketing, does it change the fact that bitcoin was a revolutionary monetary tool that could help bridge people from across the planet? No, I don't think so. I think the essence still remains and even if bitcoin were to drop to the ground like roadkill on 2024 people will still believe in it, because there's use for it and people will find ways.

It's fair that you're thinking bitcoin's fate is decided on 2024 but keep in mind that before bitcoin became this big, it's a monetary tool that was made for the people without any drawbacks or conditions. People like me who saw past the glitter will continue to believe in bitcoin even if it went for a cent tomorrow.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 01, 2023, 09:25:36 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?

Reputable sites do, and they are able to thanks to KYC and age verification, other gambling sites aren’t or are just flat out refusing to do so either because it’s a drag having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in creating systems that will verify someone’s age through KYC, or because they’re afraid of losing money from these underaged citizens to which I say you have to be a certain level of asshole for you to even dare to do this.

With the current reputable system in the industry I don’t doubt the legitimacy of people who’re playing, at least in the age department, I’ve encountered some manchildren while I was gaming and gambling, but that’s the closest I’ve ever had an encounter with an immature individual in the gambling world.
1376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that if you bounce bitcoin back and forth to different wallets on: July 01, 2023, 08:56:41 PM
that after a certain amount of time the bitcoin becomes practically anonymous? As in, not being able to be traced back to the original KYC exchange, or in the case of "tainted" bitcoin, that?
Picture this my friend. I have a ball named bitcoin that I wanted to hide from a cop that thinks I stole it (spoiler alert: I didn’t). Now I have this trusted friend we should call “wallet 2” where I could entrust the ball with for the meantime as I try to evade the law. With enough leads and evidences, there’s no doubt that the bitcoin ball will be traced back to wallet 2, and from there, I’m toast, the bitcoin’s gone, my identity’s blown, and people now see me as a ball thief in the neighborhood.

Now picture the same scenario, but instead of having only one friend to entrust the bitcoin ball with, I have 18 other friends correspondingly named wallets 3-18 which will pass the ball around in random to confuse investigators and the cops. They’d still suspect that I’m accomplices with the other 18 people in my friend circle, but there’s sure as shit no chance that they’d find the ball.

The principle applies to bitcoin too, merely passing the ball around doesn’t change the fact that the bitcoin cane from you, so with enough dedication and time for research any guy could trace bitcoins back to its original owner, but at the same time this doesn’t necessarily equate to them being able to find where the bitcoin is at the moment.
1377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 01, 2023, 08:32:53 PM
I think it doesn't take a rocket scientist for you to realize how flawed the logic of selling your physical properties for bitcoin, especially if you can't afford losing these properties at the same time. This creates a lot of chaos and puts you in a risk so high you'd get dizzy. And while some people live for this kinds of risks and thrive in it too, the average joe just couldn't afford to make these types of magnanimous investments without performing thorough research. So equip yourself with the proper information like what OP's trying to convey right here, and only ever invest when it's something that you can afford losing, and if it's something that will not cause you problems in the future. Otherwise, withhold from investing in crypto as you wouldn't be able to survive the harsh volatile environment that most of us here have accustomed ourselves of.

Heres the statistical low down for all you avid bettors to feast over in your judicious appraisal of betting prospects in this clash of titans :

These are hilarious stats!
I don't know if a fridge can win against an athlete.
That’s a proper tale of the tape! Just goes to show how funny this whole ordeal is. Still laughing at this shit from the day I saw Zuck post a story with the caption “send location” as if the fight’s going to be held at his place or an abandoned Walmart parking lot like Jesus Christ. My money’s still on Zuck cause I really wanna see Musk’s face get clobbered by someone who looked so out of place that he looks like a skinwalker every time. In any case, let’s just wait for definite dates since it’s pretty much confirmed the fight’s going to be under UFC’s care courtesy of Dana White showing support a few days ago on a shirt.
1379  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 30, 2023, 10:10:20 PM
$6k is actually a small value for Stake as they are a big casino it would not be possible to steal it from a user for any reason, I am sure your problem can be resolved in their ANN thread as it looks like you have also PMed Stunna as well made this post in a new thread here's a post on the Stake thread, I hope your problem can be resolved well because the problem of $ 6k is too little to damage the big name Stake on this forum because they are a trusted casino.

I will continue to monitor the progress of this case, my advice is that you need to be a little patient in this matter until the Stake team really provides a solution to your problem without having to ask for KYC which is so complicated as billing in English that you can't do it. I hope Stunna replies to your PM soon and make sure to post as often as possible on the ANN Stake thread.  Wink
Money is money, regardless of how "big" an establishment is. Plus it's not about the money itself but the fact that stake is allegedly making things hard for the customer with all these proof of verification that he needs, plus all of it is piling up too, imagine getting asked for a billing statement one time and then next you find out it was not approved and now they are asking for more, I can sense the frustration on OP's end.

I'm an avid fan of stake and I think this is not something that OP took lightly to post, I believe stunna needs to reply on this to provide proper resolution as clearly the customer service available at stake isn't helping that much. As a supporter of stake and someone who's wearing their badge in a signature campaign I think it's only fair that I provide the voice of reason here too, and not downplay Stake or OP's troubles, regardless of how big or small the money is.

Again, it's not about the money, it's about the principles that Stake upholds to its customers.
1380  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: June 30, 2023, 09:38:01 PM

Now the point here is that on the gambling site, there are many easy winning bets with odds like 1.01x etc. If the money lauder is sensible he can easily be wagering the whole amount by placing a few bets where the odds are very low and the winning chances are 99%.

There is no sure winning in gambling; even the lowest odds can still lose a game. So if the intention of the user is to launder money through the Casino, their chances of losing the entire money before even getting it out are high.

Lower Odds give one some confidence that their chances of winning are huge, but it does not always happen that way. So trying to use that as a loophole in an online casino might lead you to fall victim to losing all your wagers.
While you are right in the idea that 99% doesn't mean everytime, you also have to consider the fact that it is almost every time, and that alone is enough for these money launderers to use these gambling sites as a form of money laundering method. It may not be the best, but against losing it entirely to the IRS and getting jailed for god knows how long, the prospect of losing all your money which I believe you can gain anyway considering the fact that you're trying to hide it from the IRS is minuscule.

So while for the average person losing money on a bet like this could cause them mental anguish and pain, for the average money launderer who as I said earlier could earn back what they lost in a snap thanks to their unlawful/shady business practices, this is just a minor setback.
