1401  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] A2 Terminator 77mh/s (one board down) hosted at cryptoboreas on: June 22, 2016, 09:22:56 PM
Price wise selling it here id say maybe 400 to 500 on Ebay a little bit more , some one sold a Mini A2 a few weeks back i missed out on for 198 free shipping on ebay but that was rare most of time the shipping kills any EBay deals . just a thought . but id say with a bad board on the btc forums around 400 to 550 . more on ebay because of Fees ebay takes a lot out of the sell more then they should .  sadly im broke atm which is usually when it comes to any deals on A2's  for me i get the feeling I'm meant to have one.
1402  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2 Zeus Miners (22-25MHS) on: June 22, 2016, 06:07:09 AM
i need to give them some thought there old miners but still usable but power hugs but im interested kind of just waiting to see were eth is headed to by July and the bitcoin having in July not that it maters it really doesn't mater to me and won't be that bad 12 + less coins and harder to mine those 12 and if it is So gkgv what Smiley. but those miners are still usage till Innosilicon floods the market with there new one due soon probable in Sep.sense were only getting the S9 this far before halving i have mortals issue paying that much for something  that will be lower in price in a mater of month maybe even next month etc etc . i need to think on it . why i asked were you lived if it was near we could skip shipping ad escrow sense i hate using it any way but will if i have to .but your farer then i feel like driving so it would be shipped if i do or I  decide to and you still have them then.
1403  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: June 21, 2016, 08:46:09 PM
What happened to KnC Solar's, Spodoolies RockerBox, Cointerra, BFL and other shutted down companies chips? What about SFARDS?

Everything you just named is a high-power single-die BGA (three strikes you're out), and most of those companies shutted down because they were evil and crappy.

Their know how is really good start point for starting new chips.

Another good start point is several millions of dollars.

The best advice I can give anyone listening to anything I say is, don't trust anything to actually work out unless it's something that doesn't rely on anyone else but me. Even then, I don't always come through, but I've come to assume that anything I look foward to, which relies on someone else doing his job in a timely manner, will probably fail miserably. I'm working to get away from having to take in anchor customers to help pay for initial batches of new projects because, for every three anchors, one (I'll be honest, it's usually CrazyGuy) will pay up front and on time, one will pay a month late and one will completely flake out. This is a self-perpetuating cycle of crappiness. Point is, anyways, since the current "thing" is me being a tagalong in someone else's enterprise, I can really hope everything works out but there are way too many variables which are other people far away. So, only basic "this might happen" for now, and more actual real news later. Couple weeks, maybe a month. It's exciting, and I sincerely hope what I've been asked to help with goes through with their plans because their plans are totally good and not crappy for everyone ever... but we'll see.

If I do get to build something, it probably won't exactly fit the "open community miner" model completely, in that the software probably won't be completely generic and repurposable and such. But it should still be good, and it will definitely be open-sourced so folks can mess with it, and the hardware had darn well better be solid and affordable.

I hope until then i guess I'll keep running my Alchemist 5 boards trying to get one looked at, I  donated one, dropped one and fuck it up it up beyond repair Sad by beyond it needs a new PCB replaced . and my lowie s5 and Avalon 4.1 and s3 from time to time i let the s3 run solo on ckpools solo and eth mine and keep GPU mining  i'm buying two of the new AMD cards out on the first of July that i can count on. I'm looking to buy two S7 there in what i call a fair price range now I refuse to buy the S9 it's a mortal thing with me, i could have bought a S7 when it was as high but didn't and don't give a rats ass about the halving . i honestly believe it won't be bad just 12 + coins less and if it is SO what, it won't stop me .

Ive found out in life you can't really trust any one when it comes to money that includes family.

what part the of east coast ? what state encase that falls ? i kind of have free Electricity as much as i dislike calling it that there is no such thing because some one pays it some way , i can't or won't really say i don't pay the bill because i do from time to time.
1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.7.0] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: June 17, 2016, 10:01:12 PM
I picked up a Gridseed G-Blade and a Zeus x6.
I would like to run these both on a Raspberry PI, and ran-accross Minera.
It looks like it can support this, so I just wanted to double-check before I screw-everything-up or blow-up my miners...

Im assuming I can directly plug in the USB ports of the mining HW into the PI and use this software to mine with both my G-Blade and Zeus at the same time?

I don't recommend to plug them directly to PI, usually this won't work for multiple devices (only one could work), you need a powered and good USB HUB.

Then you cannot run both on the same miner instance like bfgminer or you need to find the perfect config line to bring up both in a single miner instance, not simple.

You should first try one, then the other one and only when both is working (alone) you could try to setup both together, or you have to use two miner instances (but Minera supports only one).

if the Gridseed G-Blade is the 25 mh one it comes with a self powered hub inside the miner and you can plug both the X6 and Gridseed G-Blade in one pi but that Gridseed G-Blade has to be one that's comes in the box this version http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Powerful-Gridseed-G-Black-25-28-MH-S-SCRYPT-ASIC-MINER-420Watts-LTC-/291793675563?hash=item43f042252b:g:rxQAAOSwepJXYhq7
other wise either buy two pi's or a good usb hub with Id say around 20 watts to be safe.  i used do it with no issue just testing and usually run one pi type per miner.I know they come with everything you need but some like me take them apart and redo the cooling  etc take the Psu out of the case ........so on and so force i like to mode stuff in a crude way .

but id do what he said get a really good hub with 12 watts or more i said 20 but i tend to do things over kill.

I' not sure what's wrong but mning here with Avalon4 only shows me doing at best 980 gh i have over clocked it to do 1.26th let me go on it's only on this pool it does it i can't get to hash over 1.06 th only on this pool i can go to any other pool no lie and it picks right up and start hashing at 1.26  th or better so it's not the miner .. my setting are

stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 the normal stuff after  btc address is
Code:
13Xb4RvqoeRumYbzNpe4a8jNLb7N3qhFNZ
would that effect it if so which one should i use .

if i use just CGMiner or minera
Code:
--lowmem --avalon4-fan 60 --avalon4-freq 550:500:450 --avalon4-voltage 8250 --avalon4-miningmode 0 --avalon4-automatic-voltage

if I use there supplied software same setting  but they do it, i even have left out some stuff and it got worse .

i had this problem one other time and fixed it by using a different firmware from bitmain but that's was a antminer .that was a nice hash fork that didn't like this pool so i went back to butmains fw and it picked right up.

but in this case with that Avalon4 i don't have to much pick from and BFG does not support Avalon4 and up that i see or i can't find any support or id use it . i have tried default setting under clocking and etc tried my own complied version of cgminer with just cg,miner and in minera and with the openwrt software they supply untouched. and best it hits is three hour is 724.46 and now it's actually showing it at 128 seconds   1,082.43 Gh/s with that miner and the software is showing Per 5s: 1208GHs Per 15m: 1067GHs but seems to go down  as i said it's only on this pool  and with the update coming i may buy 2 S7 1 a6 and set here like before sense s9 are beyond what I'm willing to pay or can afford even if i could afford one i wouldn't it's a moral thing with me  and S7 and a6s are and  im not blaming anyone just looking for tips to try to see if anyone has one i haven't tried yet.  and it just didn't start it been going for weeks i never said any thing i was hoping id find out why and apply a fix .

Probably the host CPU is too slow. You could try setting --queue N higher.

haven't tried that yet ill give it go.

if it were any pool other than eligius i would be rolling my eyes.. eagerly anticipating this change.

Id be doing the same i have allways liked this pool but lately it's all most impossible to mine here but once  this starts I'm back i never gave up on the pool and keep watching and hoping .Id loved to see the pool best out antminer but that's a dream i know because they make there own miners and can go private any time they feel like it, and won't be hurt for long.

waiting for open beta i don't like doing betas but will do open beta once it's up .

Good news i like it but it was a bear to get loaded in right for me i had to make sure my S5 had the July Firmware not the one i had in it . once i had it set to that firmware it all loaded in great took a few mins to adjust but now i can do a lot more with what i have for now once i get a S7 or two il buy two more copy's and the s5 is going solo .

ty
and

hope my feed back helped remember this is  what i had to do to get it to work , now to play with it see what freedom it gives me.

cya

PS trying to download the SD image still says Sorry, you have reached the download limit for this file. not the tar file i can  download the tar file and it still loads any firmware version i try to S7 and the only way it lets me adjust the fan speed is if i use the old classic way and it only hashes at 4.56 GH no TH very slow because of the firmware it keeps trying to load the S7 and S5 use completely different firmware but the S5 + will work on the S5 if you have so many blades loaded using it. sigh for now because of the annoying high 100 % fan speed it going back to the default S5 i was using from nice hash .I'll study it more and watch some of the wordless videos with no writing that explains nothing, so its hit and miss guessing .but i do like it but it's not working as intended and should not be such a pain to get just right .

last question was this even tested on a S5 it looks like no it wasn't ?. I'm willing to bet it will load a S7 or S9 flawless .

1411  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: MinToRRo Bitmain Antminer Firmware - The Flash one! on: June 15, 2016, 06:07:16 PM
i got into it I  put port 80 like this at end if you can't access it.

Code:
https://your Ip:80
 make sure it is
Code:
https
not
Code:
http
.

read father i was able to find the flash not the SD image which is what had a limit on it after i was able to read your site better Smiley .

I can only access it with the SD image loaded on the miner i did make a mistake of not backing up my old s5 setting so now the only way i get into it is if i have the sd card in the s5 . the Mintorro-SetpOne.tar

image was loaded in how you said etc so no idea wtf went wrong. I'll fix that and burn a s4 image t0 SD and load it as a S4 then put it back to default  s5 because I tried to load the default image with your image for recovering  it gives me a dead page and doesn't work and I tried other things probably everything you ask me to.
and the fan from what i was able to figure stays at 100 no matter what mode it is till I adjust it , it loads the s7 firmware o my s5 so now im gonna get the s5 july firmware after i get it back to default were i can do something, then try  sense there was a issue using other version of cgminer then the one from that firm ware the fan spins at a 100 % if you load in any other miners software then what it came with.  I'm not being a jerk if it seems I am this is feedback to me there is no other way to put it but seem to be rude im not . if i had a S7 the way it looks it will load out of the box as intended but i don't but will soon sense the S9 are out and above what i can afford .s7 should be come S5 prices and S5 should be come S3  prices if there not all ready i haven't gone shopping yet.

and this can also mean the BB files got corrupted so it won't load any pages thu the browser but will if i use SSH which i can do that way but is not to help full unless i do a lot of replacing so ill S4 it then load the July bitmain firmware and let you know.

recovering now

so using this does work https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201604120945219855QObfk20066C then i loaded it to the S5 July firmware it looks like you all use  . im back to default S5 now gonna reload the Mintorro-SetpOne.tar and see what that does with the S5 July firmware not the May version i had loaded .
1412  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: IBM takes a leap to 7nm on: June 15, 2016, 05:17:01 PM
So the smaller the chip the better? Can someone explain to me why that is? I figure the bigger the chip the more it can handle but I guess that's not the case here is it.

also look at this way 22 weight wire is bad in some cases but 12 weight wire is better and you can do more. the number may be smaller but the wire gets bigger only in this case the trans they put on it are super small and making it smaller actually allow for less power usage and makes it run better or is suppose to and gives it more room . so they can do more per chip . kind of the layman term.so look at it in terms of the wire 22 is big but 12 is bigger so it's kind of the same  but it not .it is smaller but bigger in the way it does it Smiley because there is less for the software or whatever is controlling it to do  that lets it use less of everything but do more  and suppose to be less heat but that one is still a problem kind of.
1413  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: MinToRRo Bitmain Antminer Firmware - The Flash one! on: June 15, 2016, 01:28:28 PM
well to start with i can't down load any thing it keeps saying this to me

Sorry, you have reached the download limit for this file.

if there is  no limits on down loads why i do keep getting the above .

your site is so hard to understand because the translator you all use when i use it, does not work to well. i end up using google translator which actually works better then one you all use or seems to if you use the same one it''s not set up right or something .

I hope you don't think  i have to pay another 20 bucks for software that never worked right to start with .  beyond that let me know . Please !!! .

last thought  clicking this : http://www.mintorro.com goes to a dead page or i get this:

 Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/2.4.20 (Ubuntu) Server at www.mintorro.com Port 80

i was able to read the site enough to get flash but now after  i do it how you said here i get this

Honestly i don't see how this is much better then before the fan still spins at a 100 %  all the time  but now i can't even access anything on my S5 to lower the fan speed and will have to do a hard ware reset and hope that works if it doesn't then the SD way , if that does i do have a BB laying around as backup , i hope i just didn't thrash the BB on the miner now .

also i don't use the July firmware from bitmain it sucks worse then the ones before it i do use the may 2015 version forked from nicehash sense it works better then any version bitmain put out and not the July 15 2015 version you all may have , i see i may have to update to for this to work right ?.  I really want to use this software but at this point in time it's shit and i can't say i have anything good to say about it , till it really works like it should out of the box  GL .. I normally don't have issue picking some thing up.

I sent another email !!! .

Keep it Up!

regards

it might be but eth doesn't work with minera yet i think i tried , in july a new light weight better minera is coming  and it might .i mean eth might work now i tried once but haven't sense , sense a new version is due out soon ill wait . minergate does mutiminig as far as i know minera doesn't  yet at default you may need a proxy that does and run minera thu it . and minera may not support video cards that well .you can try and let us know.minergate is for video cards last time i used it minera is more for asic miners but some on the forums have done amazing things , so give it a try.

Nice, but we're years away from seeing that in a miner.

Or it becoming worthwhile for any manufacturer to stump up what, $10M to have a go at 7nm.

Meh, people have been claiming this since BTC asics first showed up.  It took just over 3 years to go from 130nm to 14/16nm.   This space is so full of retards I think it's quite possible someone is going to start working on 7nm as soon as tools are available.

they all ready have someone in the bitfury post about chips  posted a paper on it and  the tools are there it won't be long, I guess long is a mater of terms or how one see time.

or above my post he posted it Smiley,

It would be REALLY attractive to know what Pi software is expected to be teamed up with which MM firmware. They obviously have their own dates and own features/fixes. When got my used A6, I had no idea which Pi software to use,
and one I got past the bad cable, no idea if my combination was "good" or "bad". I have been quite reluctant to tinker with the MM firmware for fear of bricking the A6. I don't worry about the Pi, since i's always possible to get back to a working state.

Any guidance on this on the website would be swell.

https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/brcm2708/bcm2708/ should work with the Rasp berry PI b

https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05/brcm2708/bcm2709/ should work with the Raspberry PI 2b

pi3 i haven't find one yet but really haven't looked or tried ....

https://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon6/openwrt/20160530/brcm2708/

The MM for A6 should work with any Raspberry like the USB uart dongle they have for the a6  works with both the A4/4.1 and 6, they sent me a replacement uart usb dongle for my 4.1 and it's version two that comes with the A6 and work well on  my a 4.1 . but the A4 and A4.1 does have a different  MM and it's listed as such on there FTP.

A 4/.4.1 is listed like this https://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon4/ for MM

 A6

https://canaan.io/en/support/

They just did a firmware release and made it more clear in the above link.

like i said one MM for both rasp berry pi for the A6 the A4 had two different versions of the miner that hashed different.Smiley.

Ok so things are running etc and all going well so now I'm wondering if I can get the screen with cgminer in to appear by itself and at a certain size. Does anyone know? I've been looking but unsure where to put the commands for the window size. As for the auto appearing after booting I have no idea.

you can but i don't know how to  but i saw some place for screen were it says or tells you how to exactly

Misc
redraw window    C-a C-l
enter copy mode    C-a [ or C-a <esc> (also used for viewing scrollback buffer)
paste    C-a ]
monitor window for activity    C-a M
monitor window for silence    C-a _
enter digraph (for producing non-ASCII characters)    C-a C-v
lock (password protect) display    C-a x
enter screen command    C-a :
enable logging in the screen session    C-a H
getting out of the screen session    exit

has something to do with redrawing

start here again Smiley .

Anyone hear about this? http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-mining-asic-acquired-avalon/

Wonder if anything will change?
Well this won't matter to this thread, his chips are from BW not avalon. So he should still have a supply of chips to buy.

That's a shame to and will probable  end up like KNC filing bankrupt because they got to dam greedy and want it all ...

well any way i hope bitmain and BW both remain how they are and hope Jat can get a good supply of chips for some time to come .

I thought that you can use raspberry pi only for pos staking not for mining purposes.. And i hope some can give more details about mining raspberry pi.. i have many stuck i just use it for programming cellphones.. i will convert it into mining purposes..

I use one to run my Avalon 4.1 the Avalon 4.1 and 6 has OpenWrt software for raspberry PI's , i use miniea with my Avalon 4.1 ,  i use Different pi types to run my Alchemist and grid seed 25 mh blade with minera and use one as a Proxy to mine with , they have all kinds of uses, if i could figure out how to use one it to run my GPU rig i would over using a MB.  i have 10 PI types there fun to play with .they actually don't mine just control the miners that do.
