1421  Other / Meta / Re: What if, opening a new topic will be only allowed for jr.member and above? on: April 03, 2018, 09:08:48 PM
What will happen if we allow only jr. members and above to open a new topic?
In Bitcoin Discussion, every 3rd or 4th thread is opened by a newbie with 2-3 activity, and it's usually an average two liner with a link (pointing to random news site), and after a question, like 'What's your opinion?' or similar...
Just an idea, I'm not against newbies in general...
Questions like When will the price go up? or Why is the price falling down? or anything stupid enough just so shitposters can spam their way through should be deleted immediately, atleast IMO. However there are a few newbies that actually have good discussions with the non-spammers.

What can actually be helpful is :
  • Limit newbies not to create any topics except for that in Beginners&Help,Meta,Bitcoin Technical Discussion or any non-spammy board like Jetcash suggested.
  • If newbies want to post in other boards they can do so by becoming a copper member.
There's lot more of suggestions that users want but let's not go off-topic.

Look at this rubbish on the serious discussion board - I thought that was moderated.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3251165.0

I am afraid that's not even close to the real rubbish we see in other boards. But don't worry,it should go down soon enough.

1423  Other / Meta / Re: Mark as Read if Seen in Preview on: March 30, 2018, 08:27:03 PM
Bill I think you're confused here. This is a watch list, your thread will appear even if you read it. As per the image the v-link(visited link) is activated. That means you did read the thread and the forum took that into note.

The difference on how to know whether you have read a topic or not is here:
When some one makes a new thread or reply, you'll see that topic like this:

And when you read it and come back the topic would be like this:

You'll see that the color of the link has changed from bold to normal. This is because you visited the link.

I believe this is what your confusion is? Or did I get it wrong?
1424  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: March 30, 2018, 05:07:45 PM
Phew! Finally evaluated the answers and gave merits to a few deserving posts.

I know the feeling, we've got a couple of threads that require a lot of attention and time. Then you add regular everyday life into the equation and you end up feeling like there's not enough hours in the day to just do the simple things. I feel bad that I have been mostly missing from this thread and it has been awhile since I've popped my head in, but it seemed like you and a couple other users have found somewhat of a rhythm so I didn't want to mess that up. I'm researching questions and always learning more, so whenever that rhythm seems to stutter I will have questions at the ready without a problem.

Phew indeed pugman, but good job not letting this thread get away from you and staying on top of it.
I know right. Bill, don't worry. Feel free to hop in any time and ask the questions,I am sure you'll get a lot of answers.
I just realized I haven't been online for 4-5 days.. Crap. Need to get my shit together.
Will evaluate the answers soon and will have another question for y'all.
1425  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: March 26, 2018, 05:05:11 PM
Gonna work to pass LoyceV, of course
Bring it on Cheesy

That's you two fighting it out for 1st place, now who's taking me on in the first to rank up challenge?
Me Tongue

It looks like the Legendary randomizer has been particularly unkind to you. I win.  Grin
Congrats bud. I agree it has been too unkind  Undecided
And congrats on your bonus too.
1426  Economy / Reputation / Re: appeal of neg trust The Pharmacistif  tag me on: March 24, 2018, 03:33:08 PM
I promise to kill The Pharmacistif in forum. see who will finally laugh
QFR. What exactly do you mean by "kill"?
I think he is going to drug him.  Shocked
Trust me, these people actually gathered on Facebook Groups and started a campaign to demote The Pharmacist from DT when the first time he became one.
I knew people made YouTube videos on how to earn from Bounties in bitcointalk but never expected this. TP, if you continue with what you're doing, you sure are going to get famous like hell.
1427  Economy / Reputation / Re: Possible Phishing Link from user. Need Help urgent. on: March 24, 2018, 03:28:23 PM
Since you didn't enter any details, your account is not in risk. Had you entered your credentials and logged in, things would have scaled across in a different way. But luckily that did not happen. This link in the image has the website myrippleaddress.com and here's what virustotal.com had to say on it.
myrippleaddress.com : https://www.virustotal.com/#/domain/myrippleaddress.com

I'd suggest you to install malwarebytes.
1428  Other / Meta / Re: DT1 users abusing their power to increase their own trust on: March 23, 2018, 07:19:12 PM
Additions and/or exclusions may need to happen, but educated decisions in a slow and controlled manner.. not just add a bunch of new DT1/DT2 members and say we are more decentralized now.
Two people : The Pharmacist and Loyce V have been added to the DT network recently. And nonnakip has been excluded. Maybe even more, I might have missed out on something as Philipma1957 did remove someone. OP has made this thread just three days ago, and DT1 members should rather take more time on deciding who should actually stay on the list before excluding someone. I see Philipma1957 has already evaluated their list, but it would rather be better to take a good look at their previous list again and think rationally. Though this thread is helping in giving suggestions on how DT1 members should improvise their lists, using the term "DT abuse" is not going to help. And like ibminer said, I'd like to see what theymos has to say on this whole DT networking and how exactly he wants the system to be decentralized. A lot of DT1/2 accounts have been bought and sold in the past and the more decentralized the network gets, more easy it becomes to get hands on DT member's accounts.
1429  Other / Meta / Re: TMAN'S guide to getting merit. on: March 23, 2018, 04:31:18 PM
Well, thank you so much for your sharing, sir.
-Snip-
Anyway, still not get any merit on mine because before I'm only focus for bounty and now I just realized how important merit for my account  Grin But will try to get it even a bit late.
-Snip-
You called me fucking sir? Did you even read all of the op?
I'm sorry,
My habit  Cry
Wait, will edit it.
Out of interest how much do you earn for all this bounty work? Do you have multiple accounts for them?
@Indohunter, If you tell us more on your alt accounts, we'll help you find the best Bounties, after all bounty hunters are becoming more like male rhinos. I'm lying.
1430  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos has been fooled! on: March 22, 2018, 05:28:55 PM
Did I get added back on DT or what?
You did.
1431  Other / Meta / Re: Ideas for new factoids? on: March 21, 2018, 07:44:56 PM
I don't think I saw this in the list of factoids. So here's one I wanted this to be there in the factoid :
Quote
If you don’t believe me or don’t get it, I don’t have time to try to convince you, sorry.~Satoshi

1433  Other / Meta / Re: And I Was Fucked Up For The Campaign on: March 20, 2018, 03:42:09 PM
I'm not making a fuss here, I'm just sharing my thoughts for I was so annoyed. I hope you can leave me some comments with this failure of mine.
Meaning of fuss:
Quote
fuss:a display of unnecessary or excessive excitement, activity, or interest.
You realize you're contradicting yourself.
What you're is not a failure but an idiot. You are annoyed because you didn't get 0.00125BTC,and what are you doing now? You say you're not complaining but that's exactly what you're doing.
You had to make 25 Qualifying posts but you didn't. What you can now do is,learn some shit and then do anything. Sign up for a campaign only if you are competent and worthy enough for it. You making extra posts means that you already know what kind of a spammer/shitposter you're. Get over your anger/annoyance. Lock this thread because everyone will tell you the same shit, its you who has to make up for it. Be a man and suck it up.
1434  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: March 19, 2018, 02:24:28 PM
Phew! Finally evaluated the answers and gave merits to a few deserving posts.

Joel, did you find the answer you were looking for? So that you could merit any one who deserves it.
Question: Give a short summary on bitcoind.

A tiny bump.
1435  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 ($10 for 2nd) + 8 Merits every week! on: March 19, 2018, 06:54:05 AM
Joe, have you thought of using Google forms for application processing? This way, spam can be reduced and it'll also reduce your work, and you won't miss any participants too. Things become much clearer then.
1436  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Rightbtc exchange scam on: March 17, 2018, 11:50:09 AM
Do read this article to know more exactly on the exchange: https://www.forexbrokerz.com/brokers/right-btc-review
Apparently, rightbtc has more liquidity of EPC coin than hitbtc or bitfinex as per coinmarketcap. Though I won't use the exchange, cause I for sure do my own dilligence before doing anything. But since some people did get their money back,be sure to check again.
1437  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 ($10 for 2nd) + 8 Merits every week! on: March 17, 2018, 11:35:37 AM
@fakegurutu has been disqualified from this week's round, as they have applied to a paid signature campaign after applying for this challenge.
This means that there are only 24 valid participants in this round. Unfortunately, this also means that there will not be a cash prize for 3rd place.
Joe,I don't people to ruin their hopes,so I don't mind paying 5$ for the 3rd prize, either from the existing BTC I sent or I'll send 5$ worth of BTC over to the person who secures this week's 3rd prize, for one time only. Your call.
1438  Other / Meta / Re: Report Sufficiently Answered Topic(s) to Lock on: March 16, 2018, 02:31:26 PM
A slightly off topic but a suggestion: In many of the tech forums where you discuss related to issues and whatnot, the users who ask questions have an option wherein they can vote whether the post helped them solve their issue or not. I'm thinking if those sort of ideas would help or not.
There are a couple of things that came in mind:-
If a query is answered, the user who asked the question can deem it to be helpful/not helpful.
If the issue is solved, the thread will be automatically locked. And no one can necrobump it later on. If not autolocked, the mods can verify the issue to be solved and thread will be locked by them? This would be a hassle for the mods, autolocking feature does help here?  This is just a sort of a basic idea. And who knows, this may help stop shitposting same thing over and over again. Maybe even combine this idea along side the merit system. Who knows.
I don't know how bad of an idea this is but I'm just throwing it out in the wild.
1439  Other / Meta / Re: Gangbang at QS's house on Friday - featuring his mum and the glory hole... on: March 16, 2018, 09:50:51 AM
i too don't have hopes at all because I might reveal most alt accounts based on IP's. Anyway Coming to the topic Why Lauda is not showing a proof at all?
You jackass. Do you even know the meaning of moderator/s? Moderators cannot reveal IP addresses. Unless you're an admin you cannot do much. And how the hell do you even think of being a moderator? I don't see one reason for you to be a moderator. You can just go away, you know. (Because no one gives a shit about you.)
1440  Economy / Reputation / Re: Requesting DT1 member to remove positive rep from abuser on: March 15, 2018, 12:19:32 AM
You know exactly who to contact. It's not like the person who I'm talking about is in control of multiple DT  accounts and it's also not like he received money for a promise which he never kept. So yeah.
