Yeah, part of the reseller markup is the price of having to deal with customers. I got three emails just in the last week from people who bought sticks from resellers and came to me with questions instead of them. I don't know how they went through the convoluted process of tracking me down instead of using the seller contact info from the listing or website they purchased from, but I don't want it and I don't need it. That stick's been in the wild for more'n six months and there's plenty of resources available that aren't my personal email address and forum PM inbox.

What I do need is a competent programmer.

sorry can't Program very good at trouble shooting very bad at programming or i would have offered. done it free because it would give me something to do.

kind of why i asked about were to buy the break out boards I'll buy it any were idc I know what im getting from your stuff  it was more to find if any were on sell yet and were to buy them i feel you wanting your privacy now that you got the product out there .

hey luke i  saw you in Avalon channel why can't I get them to answer a question about a order i made and paid at least with bitmain they keep me updated . no matter how big the order is .I  really hate using that kind of chat but it's looking like i may have to become a jerk.
1583  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCS Dumping SP35s for SP50s on: April 16, 2016, 07:25:01 PM
really 600 bucks ive seen them cheaper on the forums market or thought i did .

That''s eBay to .

Silver Spring, Maryland

real close to me i could go pick that up but I'm not wasting 600 bucks on something that can become out dated worse then it is now in may be 2 months for sure no RoI if that's your, thing.
1584  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Community Miner Design Discussion on: April 16, 2016, 07:00:19 PM
Excited about the new compac, I just hope the resellers don't add too much margin.

IF hes sell it like he has in the past it won't be to bad but that's how it is re seller sell for more we know that which i have no problem with and don't blame him !!!! . he has to live and eat as well ,I'm not saying that to kiss ass either it's a fact of life .

so you might see them here:

https://asicpuppy.com/magentoPuppy/

http://holybitcoin.com/

If you live in the US for 10 to 30 more then what he would sell to us direct unless you buy a lot off him and make it worth his while, which i don't blame him or anyone else does, in other words if you buy a lot ( i don't remember what he said a lot was)  you should get the re sellers price from him direct.  but that's how it works . any place .

At least it did when i had my PC business.

BTW I'm finally having solar installed in my home they come on Monday to look it over draw up the plans etc it's all been approved can't wait ..

ethminer.exe doesn't work with awesome miners yet ?

i get it to work then it shuts down after may be 10 seconds .

not asking to add it over time it maybe im sure just making sure it doesn't work and if it does work were do i look for a set up for it.

it's the truth it's a great product a year ago i think i tried it it wasn't that great .I  give credit were it is due.  i hope this one doesn't fall by the way side like  CGWatcher and CGRemote

that would be your only completion now if it had lasted it was the only other paid for program that worked like this  and it did as long it was kept up to date but it cost to much that might have been it's down fall . it also did a lot more then Awesome but this is a very nice thing if it keeps going strong it's worth it I see this as being = to or better at a much better cost ..

new image file on my raspberri pi b+ 512

hooked up hdmi and it takes me to a desktop

but minera is running

before i would have to do startx to get to the desktop..

sorry mich but i have to get to bed

the miner is running but for now i need sleep

if it's a Jesse system and what he said doesn't work you may need to set it to log to txt or cmd with

Code:
sudo raspi-config

if it is ubuntu 15 or up to stop that if your using the desktop version type at a terminal  in the gui/desktop
Code:
sudo graphical disable
then reboot .

there is ubuntu 15 server version for rasp pi 2 and up . sense you said B+ it most be Jesse ?. set it with
Code:
sudo raspi-config
with SSH .

@ michelem

what funny is ligthdm never really installs for me i have checked by hocking a monitor up. but I use all mine headless unless one for some reason or another  needs a log in after a new image is installed on one of my non-RPIs but a Pi type to load in network setting the i can use SSH .

and i run them all at root i hate popups or password prompts  every time  i do some thing with sudo. i figured out how to run any pi type pc  at root . unless there is a install issue then I'll run it as non root .etc etc i know the risks .

i know about

Code:
sudo visudo
which doesn't really fix or do what i want with root and SSH.

Not sure where I should be posting this, so I'm trying it here....  Have been mining for several months with a few monarchs using bfgminer.  I had a power outage and did an upgrade to a dedicated line to my panel.  Also took the opportunity to upgrade software to bfg 5.4.2.   I now cannot connect to a mining pool.  I belong eclipsmc and slush's pool.  Here is my error output:

anyone have any thoughts as to what I need to do to get connected again?  Thx.

post your logs or full setting . by power outage you mean ? . using windows ? upgrading ? fresh bfg install ? by that I mean used the old bfg setting or a full complete clean install on the PC ?

why not go back to the bfg that worked Smiley . i like keeping stuff up to date to but sometimes i have to use old version of something if that helps any. but if there is a issue after going back to what worked you may need to do a complete clean install on that PC. to clear out any bad links or shares after the downgrade if it comes to that or to fix what the power outage might have caused . if this is why Smiley.

@toptek I fixed a little bug sorry for that please update the code with (you don't need to re-run the upgrade script):

Code:
cd /var/www/minera
sudo git fetch --all && sudo git reset --hard origin/master

And you will be fine!

That did it thanks .!!!

what I did was clear the cashe , reinstall minera after i did a purge remove and auto remove. factory reset , used sudo ./install_minera.sh
sudo ./upgrade_minera.sh trying to see if that would do it and a few other commands you have listed from Trouble shooting .

even went as far as a new SD image on a completely fresh Ubuntu 14 i can try Ubuntu 15 if needed.

I use Cyberfox x64 bit as my browser.

deleted my fire fox/Cyberfox profile account and redid another one, cleaned out the old setting before i started the new account with firefox/Cyberfox  and saved my password and bookmarks but only loaded back in my passwords till i tried minera again .

I'm running it on Ubuntu trusty 14 fully updated  on a cube board 2 from here :

http://www.armbian.com/cubieboard-2/

never had any issue with that OS before .

is it stuck on the alt coins stuff checking ? .

it can possibility be my ISP sense Verizon went on strike in the US my internet went from very stable to crap at time its will just drop the connection. I can't even mine Ethermine to well due to the ISP dropping on three PCes . i haven't tried to much of the rest of my farm yet other then minera with one miner to test 7.0 .

but it seems ok script mining sense every thing else see it .

I updated to 7.0 paid to get ride of adds now the wheels won't stop spinning at one time there was command i could use to stop it and make it show the speeds and stats and not spin, can't find it .

it is hashing i can look at the site i  have it pointed to and the logs show it is . awesome miner does to

I tried a factory reset and few other commands etc . they keep spinning .

my other question sense i hate adds on all my PI types i plan to pay the four bucks so i have no adds, i can per PI with the same email i would hate to make 10 different emails? my isp only allows so many , because I'm not one to ask for resets or help that's my last resort.
1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Minera v0.7.0] Your next mining dashboard - Networked/CPUminer/CGminer/BFGminer on: April 14, 2016, 10:06:54 PM
Minera 0.7.0 is out!

Finally here is the newest Minera, there are some main changes and one you don't like at all I think Smiley So first of all, the main one is the new Debian (Raspbian) release Jessie which now Minera has built-in.

Of course you can't have Jessie release if you don't start from new Minera image because the upgrade is too much long and I cannot do it in your current system. So you have to install a new Minera image (only 0.7.0 version) in your SD Card (or you can always try to upgrade to Jessie by yourself, it's not difficult but it could take a lot of time in old RPI)

And now the worst change I know you don't want, but here we are.
I introduced banner Ads in Minera web interface.

I know nobody likes them but I enjoyed the time to build all the infrastructure to receive donation to remove them. Because yes, you can remove ads FOREVER from your systems donating a small amount (it sets now at 0.01BTC).
With this kind of donation (you find the remove ads button in the settings page) you will have ONE Minera system ads-free forever based on its MAC-Address.
You don't need to do anything but donate and wait a couple of minutes, Minera connects to my central server to check the payments (each minute) and automatically remove the ads.
If you change your RPI (and so the Mac Address), just send me an email and I will switch it (probably I will add an option to do this by yourself in the future).

And that's all about ads, oh well and yes, you can always hack your Minera and remove the ads by coding it, it's not hard and Minera is always open source, but if you donate I appreciate much more Smiley

IMPORTANT:

The upgrade script could take some time so I strongly suggest you to upgrade viw Terminal (you can use the web one too under System):

Code:
cd /var/www/minera
sudo git fetch --all && sudo git reset --hard origin/master && sudo ./upgrade_minera.sh

If you upgrade "manually" you won't have the new Jessie release, for that you need to start from scratch (New image file).

This is not all for this new release but for the remaining just look at the changelog below.

v0.7.0 -> http://getminera.com/download/latest

Hope you like it!

0.7.0 Changelog

* Bug fix Limit on number of network miners
* Enhancement: hostname/system name of miner on login/lock page
* Updated miners with latest versions (Cgminer and Bfgminer)
* Updated Raspbian version to Jessie Debian release (You need to flash your SD Card read more above)
* Removed all save buttons and introduced the new one-save-button
* Added reset logs button to clean up log system files (only Minera and miners)
* Added system info at lockscreen
* Changed Refresh button position (on top!)
* Introduced Ads in Minera (yes I know, you don't like)
* Introduced the Remove Ads button (only 0.01 Btc for system forever, read more above)
* Lot of other small fixes/enhancement

to start with TY

I never have a problem with donating if that's what it takes to a keep a worth while thing like this going if you ever need to charge us a one time fee for this or that i have no problem with that at all , i just bought awesome miner pro i was that impressed with it and i tried it over a year ago it wasn't that great to me then . but this time around it was i guess they really fixed some stuff in it .

SO my point by saying that about awesome miner is I will with minera to if it comes to that only because to me it would be worth it and  there is no other GUI like this one that actually works this good . with all most every miner ever made .

and im having solar installed in a few days so now all i need is a few of the 16 mn chip  miners im set Smiley .

Hes right unless your prepared for a long upgrade process and nite mare that might led to a fresh install  just save your setting and redo the SD , i tried a week or so ago and ended up doing a manual install with UBUNTU 15.

Two miners atm are your best bet

The S7 is cheaper but the A6 is built better

and listen to these guys so far there right and are giving solid advice, i won't comment to much on the halving that happens in July, that will happen again in four years unless that's changes over time it can happen but for now it's every four years.

This is the main bitfury thread to watch ,

sidehack is our go to guy if he can get chips his miners are solid builds.

Welcome to bitcoins and the forums !!!!.

Tip on buying don't buy direct from Avalon for the Avalon 6 you can find it brand new else were for 150 usd or less . they follow the rule you pay ,more buying from them direct unless you talk to them for a big order which right now as some one else said hold off buying to much till the new stuff hits in about a month we should start seeing it a lot unless we were lied to which is a possibility to boost there investment sells .

kast thought forgot this link right here our very own market

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

with nice deals, some in your area and buying used should not mater to much right now for the S7 or A6 .

Man i wish i could give you some tips on openwrt that's a  whole new learning thing for me . I'm really enjoying learning it, there is  a lot there to learn

I'm wondering if its just the little thing doesnt have enough cpu to keep bfgminer happy ?.

basically the stick sits idle, its getting work, but not sending any.

I would say ask here https://archive.litecointalk.org/index.php , but it's still read only after the hack there is one or two threads there with support it would prolly get fixed there .

just looked at the R1 specs it says on bitmain site the only miner USB wise that will work with it is the U3 which is BS if one works anything should. it may be a driver issue more then anything.

the engine is a tlink type should be np with 2.4 g and 150m speed so im guessing the ram/rom or nand memory is 8 mb or better that should be enough, i have a few openwrt routers with about the same but there not miners either but sense it will work with a U3 or suppose to is that powered by the router so im guessing yea sense it was referring to the part that can charge a phone. so try it with a powered usb hub or ask jat if hell look into it.?.

does bfg run at all ?

is there enough space on the router after it was unlocked to handle it
?
like you said

i think there is, do a space check sorry off hand the only check i know of is for SD cards , still learn  openwrt i forget a lot till i use it a lot.

Man this is awesome like the name says , i tried the free version i think a year ago wasn't  really impressed then so i gave it another try a few days , I was sold to the point i bought the PRO version for now .

it needs  more features added or tweaked but it is awesome or more then i really thought .

Don't let this turn into another CGWatcher and CGRemote type software .that was a really good one but it cost to much per year etc i like how this is a one time per unlock, buy , i plan to buy the next tier up to  Prem in time but for now i don't need it .

1597  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [PROXY] Looking for Mining-Proxy, ideally witha GUI on: April 13, 2016, 10:01:47 PM
Hy there,

i am looking for a nice peace of software, to control several miners for their pool connection.
What i want to achieve, is that miners in a farm (20pcs S7) connect to the proxy, and i can control the proxy to direct all miners to one BTCaddress or worker, without the need to configure a worker or BTCaddress on the miner itself.
If i need to install a webserver and a SQL database, that would be fine for me. A timetable to configure several pools would be a nice sweety too(for example change pools every 3 hours)
In below please find a schematic diagram.

MINER(only URL of proxy, without worker or BTCaddress)----INTERNET----PROXY(configure poolURL, worker/BTCaddress)----INTERNET----POOL

Thanks in advance for your awnsers!
Kind regards,
elrippo

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611338.0

To me this is the best one out there, it works with all most any pool but  maybe  pools like  ethmin pools or a few others give it time and it should support them all, don't let no updates fool you it's one of the better /more used proxy in use .

https://github.com/Stratehm/stratum-proxy  you can set it to change pools every 3 or a ll most unlimited of hours  and it works well just have to read all it can do "Roll Eyes .I have tested it and it worked .

This ^ proxy has it own GUI in browser etc

another one i read a lot about i haven't  tried and see no need to is the one CK puts out .

have you made a new img on raspbiran jesse  as the wheezy img only worked with Ethernet and not my wifi adaptor. I tried to install on jesse but it never worked right.

Minera 0.7.0 is coming soon with Jesse release and more.

hey mich till then i fixed the share issue i  said some thing about  i  deleted some old shared files bfg no longer uses minera will load in on any updates . if you delete them it works or on a clean install with a new image etc i first install bfg make sure it works in a root folder some place then install minera then CP over bfg  . no more share issue or delete some files in the /usr/local/lib folders bfg might look for if you update with the build_miner.sh file . i just do what i said above on a fresh clean manual install with Ubuntu Smiley.

my self I'll keep using Ubuntu 15 sense it works well on rpi 2 and up nicely or just about anything once your able to figure out what boot files are need for that PI type Smiley .

Ubuntu 16 is due out on the 21 st and is suppose to have a version for RPIs Smiley. fun time !!!! .

just a tip or hint ubuntu is more stable then jesse but the down side unless your wiling to make it work on all Rpi's i don't blame if your not, i do understand that's the main issue you don't  it pretty much only works on a Rpi 2 and 3 with out issue. even barryboot doesn't have ubuntu in it as one of the OS es to use for any PI's  below RPI 2.

but am very much looking forward  to this update just for the fixes a lone and Polly run it on ubuntu 16 :_).

Why do alt coins always seem to find their way into so many bitcoin discussion topics in the Bitcoin part of this forum?

Scrypt has no place in this topic.

Hi, this time, A4 have the bitcoin interest in the A3 "brother". Unfortunally, there is no notice about this chip/miner. BTW, the alt coins are all in the same area, so it is a bit hard to find the topics you are searching or have interest. Here is easyer, but you are right, this is a bitcoin forum area...  Embarrassed

i agree if they are gonna have both forms they should both be formatted the same. maintained the same way. but again rules are rules with out rules things would be a worse mess then they are now

because most will do it regardless of rules it's a chip it mines coins that's why it's that simple....or it's hardware some even believe sense it is hard ware it does not mater what forms it is in ,
Smiley.. i tend to agree with that but that's me and rules are rules, so I don't push it .
1600  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Bitcoin Mining Software for Windows on: April 11, 2016, 08:02:44 PM
Hi to all, is there any LEGITIMATE Bitcoin Mining Software for Windows that can earn faster?

P.S. Admin please remove this thread if it is not allowed here.
I've been using bfgminer for sha and cgminer for script for a while now and they work quite good without stopping and they're quite easy to use too

cgminer no longer supports script miners unless your using one of the forks or odder version they stopped support for script miners  some time ago . bfg still supports both script and sha256 miners or bitcoin miners , but that all depends which one , CGminer only supports sha256 miners beyond cgnminer version 3.9 or so .
