1582  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit source application on: February 04, 2018, 01:25:48 PM
The criteria for a merit source should require that a source must be fair and possessed of sound judgment, well-informed, resistant to corruption, and deeply invested in the Bitcoin Forum’s long-term success as a community.  By such evidence as I have seen in my experience here, LoyceV appears to have these characteristics in more than adequate measure.

A merit source should ideally be someone who actively strives to promote post quality in a positive sense, by making and promoting quality posts, and also in a negative sense, by fighting spam and abuse.  LoyceV’s post history is impressive for his own quality as a poster.  Almost from the first day I actively started posting here, I noticed his aptitude for both starting and encouraging generally helpful discussions.  On the spamfighting side, LoyceV’s copypaste plagiarism reporting thread is an endeavour I much respect, independently of the merit issue.  I suggest that it clearly demonstrates his devotion to forum quality, plus the superlative level of effort he will expend for it.
Which is why he should not only be a merit source, but a staff member. This user has good knowledge on bitcoin,is always on the verge to succour any one in need of help. Loyce V has reported so many users, for copy-pasting,shitposting and the like. Another person who would be up for such is Welsh. Both of them contribute a lot to the forum.
Sorry for that off-topic spam though.
1583  Economy / Services / Re: [1 SLOT] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: February 04, 2018, 12:49:29 PM
Ivory tower and Serious Discussion boards are boards where the spam content is almost zero, but not counting posts in such discussions may curb down real, good discussions. Is it a good idea? It has been introduced quite recently only,so...

ChipMixer solely pays for exposure, and in the stated sections of the forum they don't get that due to disabled signatures, so it makes sense that they don't pay for posts that don't give them that exposure. You can participate as much as you want in said sections, it just won't get paid.
Right... I almost forgot about that. Thanks!
1584  Economy / Services / Re: [1 SLOT] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: February 04, 2018, 12:10:14 PM
I'll give this yet another shot..

Do you even know what a segwit address/segwit is?
For obvious reasons, posts in Ivory Tower and Serious discussion don't count as well.

1585  Other / Meta / Re: Serious issue with the merit system on: February 04, 2018, 10:57:19 AM
You actually think you're trying to help here but you're not. Theymos has already stated that whoever abuses the merit system, their merits shall be decayed. The staff need not worry much. Tracking down such abusers shouldn't be such a hectic task.
You're newbie, I do understand but can you not read and then create  a thread? This thread is conveying the same message just like those tens of the same threads with the same context. Enough of this criticism already.
Edit :- Oh crap! Dang it lauda, you beat me to it.
1586  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 04, 2018, 10:47:49 AM
I think this is the best the decision you could take by removing abuser in your trust list, and i think you should ask Blazed to stop recruiting racist and abuser in his trust list. Noone of those  abusers fignt realy againts spammers all they want its money, power to destroy user accounts. Its time to leave the trust system in the hand of moderators instead of all those bad guys.

That's right. There's a growing resistance against these trust system abusers as more and more members are experiencing and seeing their unjust, devious actions. This forum needs only one good, fair alternative and we'll see a massive migration to that other forum.
OH really? And you will have signature campaigns in that forum too? Great. It's about time dumbfucks like you get the hell out of this forum, for you are not contributing anything. If trust system is unfair, theymos won't keep his hands off. There is resistance but it all seems to be one immature dumbass behind this shit. Good luck with finding an alternative to this forum.
It's too early to get a clear picture, but my thoughts so far:

First, most people complaining about merit are constantly posting garbage, and should not rank-up. The forum is not a welfare system
I am just enjoying this new authoritarian attitude by theymos.  Cheesy
1587  Other / Meta / Re: I done good posts but not receive any merit on: February 04, 2018, 09:27:42 AM
this system is good, but have to be modified.   thats biggest weakness.
The system is good, it doesn't require modification, it needs time so that users can cope up.
if i say i post quality posts but who knows who will give Mertis, we can not beg on that.
A little heads up, your posts aren't good enough to receive any merits, no offense. So your merits are just and fine.
sometimes we will stay member forever. but here bitcointalk alternatives will be born rapidly and move away
See what theymos has got to say on this: -

1588  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a simple guide on how to post links and images in a new topic? on: February 04, 2018, 05:17:17 AM
No problem, happy to help. I'm not entirely sure if you can embed images in text like with MS Word, but you can at least center them using

Code:
[center][img]image url here[/img][/center]

to make things look a bit neater. Lesson 3 of the BBCode guide might also be helpful, tables can clean things up pretty nicely.

You can actually reduce the size of the image too. There are apparently way too many BB tags, related to HTML/forum obviously that most of us hardly even know about.

1589  Other / Meta / Re: Rejoice! Actmyname is soon to be demoted on: February 03, 2018, 07:52:51 PM
Here comes the sadist Butthurt troll!
But actmyname most likely won't leave Bitcointalk just because of the fact that he may be removed from DT.  He'll still continue to do what he used to do before he was a DT member. Just go away.
1590  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 03, 2018, 06:40:27 PM
It's too early to get a clear picture, but my thoughts so far:

First, most people complaining about merit are constantly posting garbage, and should not rank-up. The forum is not a welfare system; you don't run through a few hoops and then get paid for doing something that nobody actually wants. I like that good forum members can make money, especially when said forum members are in poorer countries and this is a major opportunity for them. I very much do not want to destroy the sig-ad/airdrop/bounty "industry". But I am not going to tolerate people posting garbage upon garbage. If the merit system completely fails and I can't think of anything else to replace it, then my next step will probably be to completely remove all ways for forum users to make money from posting (eg. removing signatures entirely).
Why would the merit system fail? Are you kidding? The merit system has been one of the best things ever done on this forum which is why users are complaining so much about it. Why do you want good posters to suffer from the likes of idiots? I know this can be a hectic task to do but users can be banned if they are hesitant to cope up with the forum's policies and if they only want to earn from signature campaigns. But really, you have done great work and just verbally appreciating it isn't enough.
Maybe there are ways for people who were making money by posting garbage on the forum to make money on other sites with easy bounties, etc. (For example, I don't know if they're actually any good, but https://bountyhive.io is currently advertising on the forum.) But people should use the forum to talk about these money-making ideas, not as a way of making money itself. Once you spend a lot of time here, you may be able to make some money here (which is great!), but you should consider this a far-off hope, not your primary objective.
In sections like trading discussions , economics, bitcoin discussion, alternative cryptocurrencies discussion - people do post on how to make money but they are often ruined by shitposters and the whole thread becomes meaningless to read. The forum needs one more extra thing which would really help for the better :- New staff members and if possible global mods. They can patrol through discussions and nuke stupid users. Loyce V would be a great staff member, my suggestion /vote.
BTW, if anyone has any ideas for simple things that these ex-nonsense-posters could usefully do to make money, I think that this'd be a good project right now. There are apparently quite a few people who were making money on the forum and could use guidance. Even though their past activities were not good for this forum, I doubt that they are useless in general.
There are ways to earn money but signature campaigns by far has been the easiest way to earn quick cash that too in quite significant amounts. So any other ways, people might go for it but signature campaigns would be the first go to option, as most of the managers don't monitor their participants well. If you could make a whole list of rules and guidelines including for that of signature campaigns, it'd be helpful.
I think that actmyname has been too hasty with some of his negatives, but I haven't had time to look carefully enough into it to justify making forceful changes. I did exclude actmyname from my trust list, so another DT1 could remove him from the default trust network by doing the same.
Actmyname is giving a lot of negative feedback but most of them if not all deserve such ratings. Removing him from default trust won't be the best option, I think the managerial principle of "Stability of Personnel" should be applied here, that is give actmyname some more time to prove himself worthy of the DefaultTrust members list.

Edit :- This might be the first time I have actually seen theymos sort of getting angry on shitposters. Love it already.
1591  Other / Meta / Re: The chaos on the forum! Judge, please on: February 03, 2018, 06:16:56 PM
We just literally said that asking for positive trust = receiving negative trust. Roll Eyes
I think he meant something else. Since actmyname is not answering and OP clearly acted like a jackass here. He nagged and annoyed actmyname so much that too before his 3 day rule, so now that actmyname has blocked him, he wants other DT members to give him "green trust" to nullify his rating, I don't know why this kid thinks that such a thing will ever happen.
I already see the post for the sMerit they give each other, im not a russian native speaker,  but for a post like that he got 15+28 merits? Wow, that is a great number. I made a statistic with chart for my thread on how does people feel about merit system in the first week of it (with the data gathered from poll and from my thread) and i only gathered 4 points up till now since i post the infographic update, life is really have a lot of unfair things. I guess if the post is really good, then it will atract more people to give merits, not just by 2 people who gives a big amount of merits.
Stop whining. Wait for some more time for the merit system to be in place and let users get used to the newly implemented system.
Seriously what's up with such whining, "I'm not receiving merits, I'm going to die in a garbage can."
1592  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a simple guide on how to post links and images in a new topic? on: February 03, 2018, 05:22:58 PM
Read this: - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
Its covers most of the guidelines even though it is unofficial.
You cannot create a self moderated post. You can delete your posts whenever you want. You can create a self moderated topic, though I think it is possible only in a few sections. You can just click the little plus button in the left bottom part of the new topic you want to start and you can check the self moderated thread option.
1593  Other / Meta / Re: [LIST] USERS THAT ARE ABUSING MERIT SYSTEM on: February 03, 2018, 01:26:17 PM
A suggestion to the OP and everyone else who are reporting users abusing merit. When some one has to report users, they can use a standardized format to report them for easiness. For example,
Code:
[b]USER PROFILE [/b] : [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=xxxx] Username [/url]
[b]MERIT SUMMARY [/b]: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=xxxx
[b]PROOF[/b]: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=yyy.msgzzz#msgzzz
[b]MISCELLANEOUS[/b]:Anything else the user wants to state.
Note: - xxxx should be replaced by userID. yyy should be replaced by the topic's designated ID. And zzz to be replaced by the message number. Like say,
Quote
This will also help DT members to tag those who are abusing such, hopefully, and things would seem to be much better.
How bad is the suggestion?
1594  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: .."What is WannaCry ransomware? on: February 03, 2018, 12:43:08 PM
I'm so glad you asked.
WannaCry Ransomware is something that became popular last year April - May. It's a malware that encrypts your entire, again entire data, and no one can decrypt your data except for that of the hacker. You pay these hackers ransom for you to get your files back or you just sit back hoping to get your data, which will never happen. These hackers made a hell a lot of money, in fact they easily became millionaires as this malware has been on the spread ever since and almost all countries have been affected. One of the main reasons why bitcoin became so popular last year and its price hike.
1595  Economy / Reputation / Re: LAUDA MISUSING HER TRUST POWER on: February 02, 2018, 05:24:51 PM

Another ass licker joined . I also do not have any idea why you have not been banned yet . Enjoy criticising people for what they never do . You are a moron and will be forever no matter what .

1596  Economy / Reputation / Re: LAUDA MISUSING HER TRUST POWER on: February 02, 2018, 02:14:51 PM
If my relatives were making that I wouldn't be here you moron .
If.
Don't worry, spoiler alert : They never have, and never will ever. Enjoy your farming here, don't know why you haven't been banned yet.  Huh
Oh really ? Then tell me : What is the mechanism that has been used in building top Hinge part of "Al burj" in Dubai ?
Now do not google like kids .
You do realize that this is a bitcoin forum. Need I remind you of how you scam people in the name of providing "bitcoin transaction accelerator services"?
1597  Other / Meta / Re: Begging for merit on: February 01, 2018, 06:13:15 PM
I keep looking at the other boards, but I'm having trouble finding posts that I like. There isn't really a lot about Bitcoin that is fresh.

I'll start looking at bounties soon, and maybe there will be something there. I've got a fairly broad concept of "crypto bounty". I include the rise in the value of crypto domain names as part of crypto bounty for example.
Because it's hard to find a good post in the garbage can. Start any thread, users start abusing that thread by shitposting random stuff.
To be honest Bounties aren't going to help either. They just make things from bad to worse.
1598  Other / Meta / Re: Begging for merit on: February 01, 2018, 05:58:47 PM
Why are users begging for merit? To look on one side, it seems to look like farming. But there is an other side too. Have a look, most of the people who have high amounts of merits are the ones who are posting in meta, whilst hardly any one is giving merit to those who are posting in other discussions in other boards. Users are impatient on the fact that the merit system has just been introduced and they just want to rank up and repeat the process of signature abusal.
1599  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System hits me hard. on: January 31, 2018, 04:25:22 PM
Rank has nothing to do with this fucking forum. If you're really here to talk about bitcoin, then rank should be of your least concern. Campaigns won't exist forever, what will you do after that?
Though you're saying you have "moved on" after the merit system has clashed your dreams and fantasies to a sad reality, it really doesn't look like you have moved on..
1600  Other / Meta / Re: Becoming a Legendary Member on: January 31, 2018, 03:42:54 PM
Even if the merit system hadn't been implemented, you'd have become a legendary member at any random activity between 775-1030.
Do you even know how the merit system works? You have 1000 merits, even if no one gives you merit you can become a legendary member, activity is all that matters to become "legendary". Though I don't see why you're "disappointed" with it,there's hardly any difference between a hero and a legendary member.
