1621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to Know That How Can I Use BitCoin to My Business? on: September 27, 2022, 07:44:38 PM
There may be many more exchanges and wallets. But these exchanges and wallets are very reliable and very easy to use.
Some of those exchanges are not very reliable and advisable for one to use, and should not be used to store large funds.

Trust wallet is not recommended for use as it is a closed source wallet.
1622  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to Know That How Can I Use BitCoin to My Business? on: September 27, 2022, 05:51:17 PM
One of the most important factors when accepting transactions in crypto is speed of transactions, tx fees and the volatility of the market, to accept cheaper and faster transactions is to use Lightening network, and to avoid the volatility, you should use a payment processor which converts BTC payments to your preferred currency.

• Here is a list of payment processors you can self host to accept Bitcoin payments - BTCPay is the most recommended here on the forum... Full List,

• You can also use lightening network to accept Bitcoin payment at a cheaper rate and with faster transaction
1623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen If Bitcoin got stabled ? on: September 26, 2022, 09:30:35 PM
Whenever Bitcoin got stabled, All the market will be stable in a result of that.
Firstly, you should rather ask what happens if Bitcoin becomes "less volatile" and not stable. There is no stability in currencies and stable coins only exist cause they are pegged to other currencies. Those currencies they are pegged to are not stable.

Now to answer your statement above; No. If Bitcoin gets less volatile, this would not necessarily reflect on altcoins.

Question is that how Bitcoin can be stable?  If it got stabled that will happen?
Adoption and growth would reduce the speculative value of Bitcoin.
If Bitcoin became less volatile, nothing happens besides a change in how traders view it.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 26, 2022, 06:14:33 PM
For newbies is a copied whitepaper still a red flag for projects? I heard they don't matter much anymore because big projects do the same thing too, if two projects have the same goals or utility one can copy the other, change some few words here and there?
What's a big project? If a project has no real value and only uses hype to attract investors, it's still a sham and newbies should avoid it
If a project has tried out a certain utility successfully, why copy their framework, and if they did it unsuccessfully, why copy a failed project?

What advice can you give me based on this? Is it right to say, yo any project that has a whitepaper that looks like another project is a scam or  bad for investment.
A whitepaper is meant to give all information regarding a particular project, a team should have the originality to create their own design, and if the can't, they should be avoided.
1625  Other / Meta / Re: No more banner advertising: what's next? on: September 26, 2022, 03:21:06 PM
Do we really need ANY advertising? I for one would be more than happy for the forum to be ad free !
The sites paying to get slots certainly need the advertising, that's why they pay for the slots.
Does the forum need the revenue from paid advertising, I'll normally have said yes, but considering theymos is considering shutting it down, then maybe not.

While paid ad slots may not be that necessary, the incentives from signature campaigns goes a long way to keep discussions alive on the forum. Many of the discussions are spam, but even genuine, constructive conversations would slow up if there were no signature campaigns.
1626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: September 26, 2022, 07:20:44 AM
so all these alternative means are hardly convincing and even many times go the opposite of what CSW is supposed to be trying to show (that he is Satoshi).
They definitely are unconvincing, but that might not be the intention at all. CSW knows he's not Satoshi, and knows the public knows that too. He also knows he has no proof to convince us otherwise, so rather than convincing, he's intention might be to bully everyone to at best, not challenge his stand that he indeed is Satoshi, even if you do not believe it.

This sort of trial is straining on those involved. Hodlonaut would have wanted none of this publicity and financial demands that comes with the suit, many others would also not want that. So bullying people to silence, would leave none to challenge his stance or proof the inaccuracies in his position to the world, or court.
1627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is dead (read more) on: September 26, 2022, 07:11:14 AM
Do you hold Bitcoin, if Yes, then you should sell off.
If No, then clickbait, spam posts like this are unnecessary. If you intention is to spread fud, no one is going to make an investment decision based off your post.

Also the world is collapsing
In that case, BTC should be the least of your worries.
1628  Other / Meta / Re: Tables of users with the most merits earned (more than 1500 merits) on: September 25, 2022, 10:00:23 PM
I can also say from personal experience that right before I reached various milestones, I would get a sudden surge in merit received, and that surge would continue for a while after I reached said milestone. I am not sure if this was because I was motivated by the milestone, or if people wanted to help reach the milestone, and once it was reached, my other posts were noticed.
I have a shared experience, especially before I achieved legendary rank. Merits received would thin out at intervals and spike up when I was approaching a new rank.

I hardly notice any such now, maybe cause I do not pay much attention to merits as I used to.
1629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much do you care when you wear a commercial Signature? on: September 25, 2022, 08:53:26 AM
Obviously, scam websites or tarnished reputation campaigns are the ones that the community is against people to join to. This includes the campaign that is handled by no reputation member to avoid scamming its participants (DT/ other members warn others for possible scam). Once a campaign falls for this, you better not to join or you will be tagged particularly at the former.
You would not be tagged for joining a campaign handled by a member without a high reputation. This is not a criterion for deciding which campaign is not a scam. Reputable members have perpetrated scams, and members of seemingly no repute have shows great degree of honesty and trustworthiness.
What members should be wary of when joining campaigns managed by unfamiliar members is that the funds should always be escrowed by a higher reputation member to ensure they get paid.

Always do your research on the campaign websites and activities.
1630  Other / Meta / Re: Tables of users with the most merits earned (more than 1500 merits) on: September 25, 2022, 08:43:08 AM
Note: I haven't found any similar tables, so I believe this one. If there is already something, I apologize in advance, and I will close this topic.
You don't have to be apologetic for creating a thread. As long as you did your research and no such thread exists AFAYK, then it's all fine.
Great work OP. Including a link might have made it easier for users to check out members they are not familiar with, but it would have been a bit more work to include.

Also, I would have expected a constantly decreasing list, from 1,500+ up to 10k+. It's surprising that more members have over 2,500 merits, than those over 2k, but that's likey a result of the gap from 2.5k up to 5k+.
1631  Other / Meta / Re: Archival section moderation policy on: September 23, 2022, 11:02:49 AM
That's a crazy amount of previewing. I imagine you're a outlier in that though, and I can't see many other users fulfilling their drafts.
100 previews a day is a bit high, but I dare to say many members use about that much daily.
Depending on the length of a reply I make, I could preview it about 3-4 times, before finally posting. That's about 5 slots already. If I notice any errors later, I would edit and most likely preview again.
Someone who makes 10-20 posts a day, could easily run through the entire drafts and clear out those from previous days.
1632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Today I become a Satoshi millionaire on: September 23, 2022, 07:47:05 AM
I am super excited to have become a Satoshi millionaire today and am going to hold on to this and also accumulate more subsequently.
It is advicable to keep any future accumulations private. How much BTC you own is not something you publicly announce here on the forum, or anywhere else, especially to people who know you personally.

Another advice would be storage methods. Since you're on the forum, you'll probably know the most recommended wallet softwares are electrum and Bitcoin core. For higher amounts of Bitcoin, it would be wise to invest in a hardware wallet.
1633  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to transfer wallet from one computer to another without transaction? on: September 23, 2022, 07:42:12 AM
Do you have a back up seedphrase? Importing using backups is the easiest way to transfer wallet from one device to another. The wallet file stored on the other device can be deleted if you consider it unsafe. As an extra measure after importing, you can still move the funds to a new address.

If you do not have the backups, following the suggestion above is a good way to do it as well.
1634  Other / Meta / Re: Merit what, why on: September 23, 2022, 07:37:28 AM
Theymos proposed it here. It's been 4 years now and we still don't have one.
It's been four years already since that thread was created? Feels like we have "forum years" now which is much faster than regular years.
The welcome message I feel should be too priority on new implementations to the forum, and the way I see it, would not need much tweaking of the current system, just a pop up for brand-new members.

But don't worry. As soon as we name an official custodial of all the world's bitcoins and the next Ice Age passes, there will definitely be one.
I thought that's how long it would take for epochtalk to be live  Grin
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bahrain allows regulated crypto payment gateway. on: September 22, 2022, 07:06:13 PM
With such positive developments, i hope crypto winter will be over soon and Bitcoin will rise again to moon.
Ideally, you should include a link to news you post. Also, this single update is not going to turn the market around or take Bitcoin to the moon.
1636  Economy / Economics / Re: ‘Polluters must pay’: UN chief calls for windfall tax on fossil fuel companies on: September 22, 2022, 06:45:51 PM
I would be waiting to see if any action is actually taken as regards rising carbon emissions. The U.N has become largely reactive in recent years, not taking action to prevent situations, condemning them after it happens and still not taken concrete actions.
I would expect less from U.N considering any action would put them against China. In a separate situation China is ready with countermeasures should U.N make any anti-China motion agants their alleged crimes against humanity

Also I'm interested to know how public opinion views these topics. I have a feeling public sentiment on climate change and alternative energy have shifted a little over the last 2 years. Things are changing. Hopefully for the better.
Climate change is a global issue that needs to be addressed and fast. With continued advancement in technology, the waste disposal also increases, reducing quality of life on the planet.
1637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin miner event on: September 22, 2022, 11:58:06 AM
You do not need to attend events or join some telegram group as you asked for in a previous thread. There are already lots of information on the topic of mining, here on the forum and on other sources. Check out this reply to one of your previous threads;
Here check this
- https://github.com/yjjnls/awesome-blockchain

About mining, this section is the best place but if you are looking for other sources check this one below.

And actually, you don't need to learn to mine because most ASIC units are plug and play they also have a manual on how to set up them which is basic.

You could get yourself scammed or get wrong information from some malicious users if you keep searching for information which is already available.

You left out a bracket close for the opening img tag. Most likely an oversight, but it would mess up the code and it would not display the image.

1639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price prediction based on Fed's decision T/F Price analysis? Possible? on: September 22, 2022, 10:02:57 AM
Raised interest rates makes the option of borrowing less attractive as well as discouraging spending and investing. Bitcoin as an investment would be affected by this no doubt, how much of an effect it would have now, or in a week or a month, or a year, cannot be predicted however.

Is the price analysis possible to an extent?
Every analysis is probable to an extent. There however are no guarantees and it cannot be relied on as a metric to speculate price actions.
1640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what will happen after 21 million bitcoins are mined? (in layman's terms) on: September 22, 2022, 09:52:34 AM
Tx fees don`t necessarily need to go up if the total number of tx goes significantly up i.e. mass adoption.
There is a limit to how much tx data can be included in a single block, so mass adoption without a change in block size, would not make much of a difference.

Much of the question about how Bitcoin would respond to end of block rewards would only be answerable in the coming years; any thing else is just speculation.
