1641  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Finding the best cryptocurrency exchange to trade on - What is your top pick? on: April 07, 2020, 11:29:34 PM
Binance, Wazirx, Paxful and Localbitcoins are the best places according to me if you are looking to get the best for your BTC, be it alts or fiat (based on exchange to exchange). For the derivatives part, none other than BitMex because they provide all of us with the opportunity to get stopped out and that's when I make the most out of it. I mean, when the markets are against you, you can make more money by just hedging it with a different account on a different IP address. Wink
1642  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Face Lift for Cryptowisser.com! (Feedback Wanted) on: April 07, 2020, 11:21:16 PM
Your web interface is quite impressive (but couldn't load as quick on my mobile as on PC) and some parts were broken in my phone (maybe phone-to-phone display difference). I'm very much surprised to see exchanges like Binance and BitMex not being in the top 5 list. Okay, I'd need some extra info if I were to hop into your site to get knowledge about these exchanges. Is it possible for you to gather their volumes, let us know their KYC status (needed or not), regulation status, certificates, etc.?
1643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH hits $160, after a +11% gainer in the last 24 hours on: April 07, 2020, 11:09:13 PM
Whether sustainable or not, but you can't deny the fact that % wise, this thing has shown an almost 100% increase from its touched low this year which is highly commendable. I think Eth 2.0, being in the discussion all the time, could be the reason why this beast woke up and blasted off? What's your thinking on it? It's a great opportunity for everyone to go long at 2-5x max on Eth because it can give you huge returns compared to other alts.
1644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little doubt about giveaway thread!! on: April 07, 2020, 10:56:12 PM
--snip--
These users where banned because the airdrop was originally posted on the Bitcoin boards, and then moved to the Altcoin section, where users got banned because it was an altcoin airdrop. Nevertheless, most of those users got their bans lifted because of the confusion it generated.

It wasn't the only story till there.
It was initially a Bitcoin airdrop which is why it was in Games and Rounds section and they were incentivizing just to post in their thread (which meant that they wanted to remain on top by getting too many bumps due to users posting their usernames), but later they started doing altcoin giveaways in that area which was not allowed, as well as, even after moving it, asking for your username alone and giving no tasks to you increases the risk of getting the thread moved to trash and your" account getting banned.

* = Here, your was meant for everyone, including the participants.

As my account has been temp-banned because of participating in a giveaway thread, I became a little bit too sensitive to this subject. I read the rules multiple times and I can say this topic doesn't violate them.

The member who created the topic didn't ask participants to reply to his thread. He is conducting the giveaway off-site.
Does this mean that everyone who has participated in an airdrop will get temp or perma ban? Or airdrops or allowed in specific board? I am always confused with that discussion.

I think airdrops are allowed:
For BTC alone in games and rounds, and that too if certain tasks are needed to get that airdrop.
1645  Other / Meta / Re: A little bit of warning about the pandemic on: April 07, 2020, 10:49:38 PM
I believe we are all under the colors of Coronavirus pandemic only where even Bitcointalk is popping up in some Google searches if you use this very specific term: "pandemic". I think users here are already doing their best to play their part in spreading a lot of news about Corona (yes, there are threads about it where unnecessary discussions are being done) and theymos is also worried about the situation as well as careful too, which is why he actively participates in some serious and on-topic discussions, so he may consider your request and make a specific thread with the title being advertised in the News area.
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: returning to normal on: April 07, 2020, 10:35:23 PM
I don't think the H1N1 flu was this harsh on our economy. I don't think it was too easy to be spread through just a few droplets and enter your body and start ruining it. This pandemic has already started showing its effects from day 1 after getting publicly announced (late announcements and delays because of China trying to hide it). Markets turned highly volatile and liquidity erased out of them which is why money seems to be nowhere. Food can't be prepared out of air and vegetables are going to vanish soon, so an extremely bad mix of non-treated patients and ended economy is yet to be seen and we need to be prepared for the same. I'm seeing an era where possibly man will start eating man.  Undecided
1647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: April 07, 2020, 10:18:51 PM
I won't be such a stupid to just break the bars and get out of my home impatiently and almost immediately once this outbreak ends as there is no guarantee that everything had been sanitized and cleaned carefully and it might take some more time for the things to come to normal. It's better to stay home and stay safe even after this pandemic ends because the effect it'll leave will be very dangerous compared to what we are seeing as of now.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin current situation on: April 07, 2020, 10:12:16 PM
It was a fancy for everyone during old days when all of us were having at least 1 BTC with us for sure. Today, it's next to impossible for many users to even buy it at its current low prices and they are waiting for a new low. Even if a new low will take place, that will only be for a few seconds in international markets and till you try to buy it for some discount, it'll slip out of your hands like sand. It's very hard these days to gain a nice amount of BTC on hands which was then, very much easily possible for everyone during the beginning days.
1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Role of the crypto in the incoming global crisis on: April 07, 2020, 09:57:26 PM
What do you expect will be the role of bitcoin and altcoin in the upcoming global economic crisis?

If taken seriously, BTC and alts can prove to be the best safe-haven investments you'll ever bet your money on.

Quote
i mean i read on several sites that the only way to face the next economic crisis will be to freeze and withdraw some amount of private equities.
In your opinion will this lead to a massive adoption of crypto? given the fact that they are unseizable and in the end bitcoin was born right to face the crisis of the global market of the 2008?
If so what is the best altcoin to buy and hold for the next five years?

I can't say anything about alts because the higher they rise, the worse they fall but BTC will be the King in the next 5 years and almost all the Govs will accept BTC as a game changer. Though, if it's a necessity to give a name of a project that can be hodled for the next five years - Pundi X. Even if the value gets dumped these days, it will strike hard in very less days.
1650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are calling projects as scam when they are in a bear market? on: April 07, 2020, 09:07:07 PM
Scam and bear markets are two totally different subjects.
Calling out a project a scam is worthless until there really is a proof of the attempted scam. Not all members go negative against a project even during bear times. See Pundi X, even if it fell down badly and is just falling only, people still believe in the project because of the fact that the team behind the project is hardworking, they deliver their promises on (or sometimes even before) time. Their community on telegram is always active and I can say that their products are worth it.
1651  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CVD token is scam on: April 07, 2020, 08:51:06 PM
This isn’t a scam... I’m in the discord server. Why don’t you check it out to see if it’s a ‘scam’

Cool, these guys (the shill accounts I'm talking about) are taking advantage of the disadvantage this forum.has - and that's by allowing everyone to make as many accounts as possible. Discord server? Are you some chick with a red bikini waiting for us, so that you may ask us to visit a website to see your nudes by giving our CC details?  Cheesy

@marlboroza, great work dude. Hats off.
1652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little doubt about giveaway thread!! on: April 07, 2020, 08:26:15 PM
I can also agree with your evaluation. But i recently remember a wave of temp bans happened with about 40 users who applied in a giveaway. Most of them are experienced reputable users. From what i can remember, the reason was that giveaways are only accepted if it's a bitcoin giveaway.

Unfortunately, one of them was me too. It felt harsh at first but I never knew that I was breaking a forum rule until I saw that it was posted in the wrong section, huh my bad! Though, thanks to theymos for removing those bans and giving us a chance to post here again. I believe that if you are given any task rather than just asking your username and picking up random winners out of that only, then such threads and their owners are likely to be banned. So, it's better to stay away from such threads and never post there.
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: April 07, 2020, 08:14:42 PM
The worst part is, fiat if handed in the form of cash only and not contactless payments, can also bring your home this epidemic virus. Try to avoid cash. Here in India, a miserable scenario happened where a family was living in an apartment and someone rang their doorbell at 1:30 a.m. Now, they decided not to open the door as there was a stranger standing outside, so they kept it shut. Afterwards, in the morning at around 8 o'clock, when they were getting out to throw the trash in the bin, they saw a INR 500 note waiting for them just outside their door. This is ridiculous because when checked via the thermal machinery, it was found that the cash note was infected and someone was trying to spread the infection.
1654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 07, 2020, 07:40:19 PM
Even gambling anything that you can afford to lose isn't worth it at current moment because losing will bring you regret only and you will think that whatever lost, could have been used for your family's daily needs instead. Yes, there were sleepless nights for me while sportsbetting, but that has nothing to do with my affordability to lose my money, but rather different. I used to place my bets a day ago and then, while thinking that the match is gonna take place in early morning, I couldn't sleep and just wait for the match to start.
1655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep track of your gambling? how? on: April 07, 2020, 06:58:30 PM
do you registerhow much you separate for gambling?
do you see it as an investment?

Gambling can't be an investment because you can surely lose while gambling if gone wrong, so can't take it that way. I just use 10% of my earnings to gamble and only bet on higher odds where chances of win are low because I love to take risks.

Quote
if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?

I used to write these things into a physical notebook once but when my wifey caught me, things got fucked up. So nowadays, I just keep a track of these things via notepad in my PC and saved it with a password, so no chance of getting my betting secrets leaked to her once again.  Grin
1656  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit abuse by a Legendary on: April 07, 2020, 06:43:24 PM
Isn't it looking like a "new merit cycler" being formed here?  Roll Eyes
I remember of a guy accused by me and many others, who, after being pointed out, started sending unsolicited PMs to many of us.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5187994.msg52570339#msg52570339
That's the thread, almost similar where he/she used to give merits to people at a single shot, but at that time, many people went against me and told me that its their merit and they can decide whom should they be giving their merits to. That's why I turned my way towards trying to get more people like him/her to highlight his/her deed.
1657  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is 51% attack a double-spending threat to bitcoin? on: April 07, 2020, 06:31:43 PM
--snip--

the thing about pools is that you may not notice it but their seemingly big hashrate comes from a very large number of miners connecting to them. which means if a pool starts being a little shady, they will all leave.

What if such pools start giving higher rewards per each miner (obviously after dividing their distributed amount of hash power) just to grab a big number (or almost all the miners in the market switch to them due to their competitive business and some contests)? Why won't the miners join them and start gaining even a few bits more than what they get from their ongoing mining group?
1658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Satoshi theory? Deceased or alive & well on: April 07, 2020, 05:51:00 PM
Now, learn something from me too.
My saying - "Good Souls Never Die!"
I would never believe that Satoshi has left us all in vain. One who loves anonymity should never reveal and keep up the good work being done by his end without shouting out for trying to take credits for the success of their project and I bet Satoshi is calm enough to stay away from all this drama and remain silent forever while doing his job that he started with the invention of BTC.
1659  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is 51% attack a double-spending threat to bitcoin? on: April 07, 2020, 05:39:55 PM
I believe that 51% (or more) is more of a centralization situation rather than being called as an attack for the purpose of double-spending. I've got many reasons to say this, one of which is the fact that at some time when we just began with crypto a decade ago, BTC mining had been both, easier and controllable due to least hash and many companies even tried and did rule the crypto mining industry, and trust me that there will be group of miners who, once all gather at one place (pool) some day, we'll definitely be noticing a drop in number of other mining groups as this single group will be ruling it up to the mark by getting almost all the blocks on its name and others will stop by seeing them gaining everything.
1660  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Crypto miner in Chandigarh/Mohali on: April 07, 2020, 05:12:00 PM
Images of rigs with your name, details of the rig, price and date when you clicked that pic will make things transparent for us to know more about you and what you have in stock. As well, just a WhatsApp number won't help as we'd definitely want to know your address to check your verifiability in person. I'm from Ludhiana, so Chandigarh is not too far for me or my friends to visit. And I've also got some friends there, so if possible, please give us complete details to check the genuineness of your project. Smiley
