1661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: October 08, 2022, 03:40:37 PM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.
It's possible, I invested in chainlink at around .20 usd. If you get in on a new project early, and it does well, then the sky is the limit. There will be a lot of failures along the way so you really need to do your research. One project that I am looking forward to is MAXX finance. Another is Aptos, which is by former Facebook blockchain developers.

Yes, that is possible. However it depends to the OP's timetable because if the time is only 1 month then I think that's near to impossible but the OP didn't specify that one either, so it's really possible. You just need to find that certain project or coin that will help you achieve that said goal, although searching for it won't be an easy task.
1662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose an online casino? on: October 08, 2022, 12:09:27 PM
It mainly depends on what the preferences are for a player. It is important that a player can expect his payout relatively quickly, but you also have to deal with good customer service and certain limits. I don't know whether you can still demand that you do not want to comply with the KYC, I think that is really a thing of the past and you can no longer give that as a preference. If you accept that, you have many choices of major casinos with a good, solid and reliable reputation. Not only on the forum, but there are also many other review sites available.
KYC submission is a thing nowadays in Online gambling , either in crypto or in Fiat so whether we like it or not? we must comply with it or never play anymore in that cycle of place because gambling is about money and this is also a tools of gambling site to at least try holding money from suspected laundered or cheaters.
so best to understand this or be a loser at all cost.
I think that is because online gambling is becoming a mainstream now and for them to become more legal in the eyes of the government and the people, they need to acquire a license and then conduct a kyc. Having a kyc and a license do also have a benefit from the casinos and their players but there are still people who prefer to play on a non kyc casino.

It's not that they will do something shady like money laundering but they only value their privacy so much. Gambling isn't only about money but gambling is also about having a leisure time for one's self but of course if you're a criminal then money will matter the most for you.

Well, they have their own disadvantages and advantages that's why there are some people who prefer licensed casinos and some also prefer non-licensed. But for privacy purposes, it's expected that most of the gamblers will prefer the non-licensed because they have more freedom and the casino is not that strict, however, if we are talking about risks, it's much better to go and play on a licensed casino but you have to accept that most of them do KYC. So, it's just a matter of perspective to me.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 08, 2022, 11:48:56 AM
That's not the case for the Lakers because they cannot win without one of their star players.

Lebron or Davis' injury will drastically affect their chance of winning, just like the Clippers when Leonard and Paul George was injured, although they were still competitive but they are not the same without their star players.
It's true. But Paul George did something great when Kawhi was out.
About the Lakers, it's not like its a one man team now or two man team which only rely on Lebron and AD.
They have PatBev and Westbrook which I think will be a big impact for the team if their coach would let it.

Ham is different than Vogel. It's not like he have focus for defense only. I have seen Westbrook play this preseason and there is a difference than what he was last year. We cannot tell it just yet.

Just like what you've said, we cannot tell it just yet and that same goes for Pat Bev and Westbrook because this is their first time playing side by side while Westbrook should bounce back from his performance last season, he may have good stats but that is not the Westbrook we know. So that all goes back for AD and Lebron because I don't really think they go far this season if both named superstars are injured.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 07, 2022, 03:40:31 PM
I'm still figuring it out what he saw on Ryan because personally, I'd pick Davis over Ryan. I may be wrong about this but I guess we will see once they share a ring.

Maybe he was challenge by Ryan Garcia and he likes to shut him up. Ryan could attract a good number of crowd as well, so in terms of revenue, there's still a chance that they will make a profitable fight. Actually, it doesn't matter if he start with Ryan Garcia, because if he beat him, he can have Davis next in line.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 07, 2022, 02:31:04 PM
Bay Arena Dragons is still undefeated, however, they are not that dominant as what we expected, they only won a single digit win, so it's still a close game against the converge. I know they are good, but I think they will not end this conference as undefeated since they haven't face the good teams yet such as Ginebra, SMB, TNT, and Magnolia.

One day, that zero will go away when they face Ginebra or SMB Beermen. I just forgot to check the odds for that Bay Arena Dragons vs Converge but i think they did not cover the spread for today's game so come Sunday when they face the crowd favorite Ginebra, the spread will be close and if bookies will still give a 7.5 spread for Ginebra then I will not hesitate to bet for the Kings.

Same here, not betting on the spread but I will go with the moneyline, I'm pretty sure I'll get +300 the lease. Anyway, this team is really good but they have not face the Ginebra yet, I'm excited to see the import vs import production in this game, I'm still betting on Brownlee as I think he can beat the opponent's import.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: October 07, 2022, 01:12:59 PM

Finally, odds are up and i'm good with the ML but i'll be pushing the bet button 12 hours before the fight, there might be significant changes by that time.

Looks very attractive, I'm sure I'm going to put a decent amount on Ancajas to win. The odds now are the opposite of the first match, so maybe Ancajas will try to be better and win this fight, good luck to us mate.

Yes, that's for sure! Ancajas is fortunately listed as an underdog by the bookies, although I wasn't really surprised of that fact, but this is indeed a good opportunity and advantage for us who believes in him that he can reclaim his belt this time. Tomorrow is the fight, right? Anyway, thanks for sharing mate.

I guess Ancajas is going to be more technical in this fight, he cannot fight like he did in their first meeting, that if he want to have a good chance of winning. Ancajas still has good future, but this is a very important fight and he has to win this, so I'm going with that underdog odds, certainly gonna take it.
1667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privilege to teach Bitcoin in church on: October 06, 2022, 09:06:24 PM
In my country churches have made big changes in the society providing education. Maybe here it is little different, but something after the regular service is good. People need to know about everything happening around and the same will create awareness and according to their need one can make use of it.
Even in my own country, churches have become more tight when it comes to teachings not related to church. You can stay in the church as long as it’s for religious education, other than that you can do it outside the church. However, with this scenario, it’s really a privilege that you are given a chance to teach bitcoin in the church. But always focus on the facts and give them assurance that bitcoin is not a big scam. But never fail to inform them that investing in bitcoin has its own risk so one should never start investing if he has not completely understood bitcoin and crypto market in the first place.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 06, 2022, 01:57:07 PM
It's true, but for me this is a good chance to see how the player chemistry is, and of course if they are going to win their new team mates. I remember last year with the Lakers line up, highly anticipated and we say that it is not that important, as the impression on them is just like half baked. But look at how the team turns out to be in the regular season, but we can argue that it was due to injuries to their franchise like AD and Lebron that really contributed to their downfall.
They may face the same situation this season. I mean, we don't know when injuries will hit them, especially for Lebron who is getting older. The Lakers should try not to expect too much from him and do what they can to also lead the team.
Austin Reaves for example, he may not be putting much in the score sheet but we can see his presence on the court.
Offensive rebounds, steals, and defense, he is everywhere and will be a pest to every offensive player that he will face.
Davis though will be a big help if healthy for the whole year.

If Lakers management will be able to maintain a healthy Lebron and Davis, what I mean if the coach will be able to bring good
player management, it might lessen the chance of possible injuries.

More on the players though but the minutes of their stay inside the court can be limit if there's a good rotation for them just
a good jive of players.

At the end of the day, the chance of winning should be on everyone's shoulders and not just for the main stars.

That's not the case for the Lakers because they cannot win without one of their star players.

Lebron or Davis' injury will drastically affect their chance of winning, just like the Clippers when Leonard and Paul George was injured, although they were still competitive but they are not the same without their star players.

According to the schedule tomorrow, we have converge vs Bay Area Dragons.

Bay Area Dragons is still undefeated until now, does converge have a chance of beating them? If there is, how big?
I'm checking on the spread, but it looks like it's not yet available.

But here's my question, if converge is +10.5, would you take it?
1670  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My quick advice to my fellow newbies on: October 05, 2022, 09:45:23 PM
The advice is not just for beginners but for everyone who wants to invest or trade from crypto.
Don't expect too much from what other people have suggested because suggestions from others do not guarantee that we can benefit.
In investing or trading in crypto, we must be able to find as much information as possible, especially finding the right information from out there because many people will give the wrong news.
I think we can have more opportunities to profit from crypto by having information or learning more from others.
It’s not wrong to ask suggestions and opinions from other people especially if they have been here in the market for long, but never reach to the point that you will follow and just rely whatever their last say. It’s always your final decision that will count the most. Also, if you decide to invest or trade, then prepare for it and gain sufficient knowledge and skills first before jumping into risky decisions that you may only regret later on.
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Generate Profit in this bear time? on: October 05, 2022, 09:17:32 PM
In many days i see in my port filo 5$ up and 5$ down , what is the best strategy to increase profit?
Profits dont increase everyday, only net profit or loss might change.

In any day when the markets are open, you have to sell for the profit at a higher price than buying price. So the best strategy is to have patience till the higher price is reached and then sell, but to do that you need to have bought at lower price. Remember that more the number of altcoins more is the risk you will have to carry.

Dont look at the entire portfolio at a glance, instead if you are trying to trade everyday, you will lose money.
Just buy low and sell high, and build more patience within yourself simply because the market will always create unpredictable moves that may sometimes surprise us or disappoint us. As long as you see price decline, take time to buy and consider it for long term hodling. And when you see chances to sell, then sell. That way, you can still make consistent profits as long as you start buying at a very low price.
1672  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons you will remain broke as an adult on: October 05, 2022, 08:47:39 PM
You can write a long list of things that make adults poor, but it is difficult to narrow this list to how to change poverty behaviors into productive behaviors, especially since many countries of the world suffer from inflation, narrow job opportunities and difficulty in finding job satisfaction due to the lack of competition.

Therefore, knowing why you are poor is not a problem as much as changing the habits of poor to rich.
They say it’s not a mistake that you are born poor, but it will be a sin if you still end up dying poor. This is why even if we have less opportunities in life and met a lot of struggles, we should never give up but always move forward since it’s the only way we can survive and we can bring positive changes in our lives. As no one gets to win if you decide to quit. That way, you will have higher chances to change your life and won’t never end up dying poor.
1673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to Our Bitcoin and Other Assets If We Die? on: October 05, 2022, 07:59:33 PM
You should plan ahead if you think you have someone you can trust or you will need someone to retrieve it or do you want to give it to them as a gift or something before you passed away. There are ways on this forum posted several times when they want to make back-up or a trigger on a website that would send automatically the private key to someone's email if not being active after a certain time like month(s) or year(s).

People in the past didn't know this yet since they think Bitcoin has no value in the future that's why most of them forgot or lost their Bitcoin without knowing how to retrieve it.
If you care for your assets, then you should learn to value them while you are completely alive. The reason why we need our family too or even a trusted friend to be inclined about bitcoin so that if we pass away, our loved ones can inherit them and use them purposefully. But it will be more satisfying on our part if they will continue what we have started since bitcoin's value will keep on increasing and would mean a very huge amount in the future. Otherwise, once we die, our assets will also be left with nothing and will become useless in the end.
1674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's alright to lose and learn on: October 04, 2022, 09:50:20 PM
But not all the time it is good to lose money in crypto just to learn  instead it is good and ideal that before making different projects in cryptocurrency-related is good to have a background check what are the things needed by a newbie by that you can get an idea where to start your journey next is if you can now manage the risk that's the way you make a decision it is good to make a risk or not with the journey you would like to take, again investment in knowledge and skills is a must before making an money investment.
Well, if you tolerate yourself to always lose than making profits, that will be another story. You will never be successful in the end. However, if you decide to always DYOR first so you can gain good knowledge and skills before taking investments, you will most likely to create minimal losses. That way, even if you lose, you still learn from them and become more motivated.
1675  Other / Off-topic / Re: Life lessons from Bill gates and how it could make you a successful entrepreneur on: October 04, 2022, 09:24:07 PM
If you decide to become an entrepreneur, you must know the steps you should take to work according to your plan. You can set what has to be done and by doing it step by step, you can achieve the goals you want. Never stop, especially stop learning because learning can help you develop for the better and push you towards your dreams. It does take time to get to the destination and it all depends on how hard you try. If you are serious, you can achieve it and success will come to you.
Being an entrepreneur should also be flexible. You should know how to face your losses sometimes, so you can easily recover and move  forward. And always learn from all your mistakes, because that will improve how you handle your business and grow being an entrepreneur so you can also attract consistent and sustainable profits. If you can do it, most likely you will be successful in the end.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bear Market More Important Than the Bull Market? on: October 04, 2022, 07:49:21 PM
Bear Market and Bull Market are important in their own ways and depending on the investor themselves.

For me, bull market is a time to sell and bear market is a time to accumulate. The problem is there are some investors who are doing the opposite. Investors are investing in a bull market because they are afraid not to ride on a train where all of the coins are pumping like crazy. On the other hand, investors are selling at a bear market because the afraid they might incur more losses that's why they will sell even at a loss.

Just remember, don't do what most of the people are doing. Another one is bear market is a time to accumulate and bull market is a time to sell.
Just follow the basic rule, buy low and sell high. If you want the right timing to buy, then always buy and accumulate more coins when there is bear market, and then you decide to sell for profits when the market is already bullish because that will be the start of seeing crypto prices consistently increasing. Otherwise, if you are doing the opposite, then prepare for losses anytime.
1677  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto jobs make government jobs irrelevant in the near future? on: October 03, 2022, 09:53:34 PM
I think that at most, and speaking completely out of my imagination, in such a case as you described, we would probably invent a new kind of decentralized government for crypto. That would be really neat. Incorruptible, automated and decentralized democracy. That is really the next stage we need to improve our democratic system, if you ask me. Hell, even things like Visas should be decentralized to stamp out forgeries. There is so much new potential that has not been explored yet. But I have no doubts that it will be implemented someday in the future, hopefully soon.
Even in my wildest imagination, i don't think our government will turn into a decentralized one, not today or even in the future. Because if that happens, then those government officials will no longer be relevant at all, which i think those people will not allow for it to happen. However, instead of turning the government into being decentralized, let's just hope that crypto and the government will be able to work as one so that both jobs from crypto and government will compliment each other.
1678  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teach Children Financial Education on: October 03, 2022, 09:17:31 PM
Pretty tough to be wanting parents to teach their children proper financial education, knowing that a lot of parents don't even know how to simply budget. Hence why it's necessary for financial education to start at ages 16 or so at school.
Well, as a parent, your teaching will not be effective because you should serve as a role model to your kids. Otherwise, they will also follow what they used to see from their own parents. Since kids these days are keen observers, then teachers and parents should always act the proper way so that the children will learn from them eventually particularly in wise spending and using of money so that they will come to understand the value of money.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 01, 2022, 03:12:27 PM
I would not risk at that kind of odds, I'd rather look for an odds of 1.50 over 1.03 even if there's a huge chance it will win, one of the reasons is that upsets do happen in any sports, especially in boxing. Well, just let us know the odds for Inoue winning by KO in less than 6 rounds, I think that would be more interesting.

Yes, we should wait for more betting options while the fight is approaching. For now, we only have limited options. I'm expecting the odds for Naoya Inoue winning by Knockout in less than 6 rounds is still low knowing Inoue is really good at that and has a good Knockout rate in early rounds.

High odds will be expected at Inoue winning by Decision or KO at late rounds which in reality, it's hard to bet on that options.

However, that's the challenge in betting. No way bookies will give an easy pick with a high odds in the first place.

Yeah, it's very challenging on our part because bookies are so smart, we thought it was easy to win but in reality we gamblers are losing more than we win. In this fight, we know Inoue will win, but the question is, what round ranges he would be able to stop Butler.

maybe the odds for Inoue winning via decision is very much attractive, so we can wait on the odds to be available.

Yeah, it could be 7.5 rounds or even less, but as the way they put the odds is going to be hard to choose. And as bettors we also go for the odds that we find very attractive by sometimes it's really a miss for us.

I don't think that the odds for Inoue winning a knock out could be high as well, everyone is expecting that he will win by this fashion. I think the decision win is tempting, but it's up to Butler if he can survived the power punching Naoya, so it's very tricky.

It's not gonna be high as we believe the fight will likely end in a KO win by Inoue.

Inoue to win via decision, that would probably give good odds, but for me, I'm not choosing that because anytime Butler could go down as long as he felt the power of Inoue. Of all of Inoue's fight, most of them was not able to finish the whole 12 rounds, so I guess I have to follow the trend.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 01, 2022, 02:22:05 PM
The Lakers reported that they are still open to trade their future first round picks but they want long term returns. We are referring to their 2027 and 2029 future first round draft picks. The Lakers are giving a sign that they want a young high potential player that can carry the team when Bron and Davis are gone or old. No wonder all their previous talks to unload Russ and acquire any players from Kyrie, Clarkson, Hield, Turner and Bogdanovich ended in failures.

Does the Lakers 2027, 2029 first round drafts and Russ' $47 million payrate enough to acquire a young star potential like Mitchell?

Well that's why they are future picks, because we don't know if they are going to be a great player in the NBA. But it's risk that any team are willing to take though or maybe they have scouting teams as well looking for the next prospect in high school that will be the potential picks. So we will see, Russ is still a big problem in their shoulder right now, but they can't do anything about that huge contract and they might be willing to let Russ play this season.

He is not a big problem if the coach knows how to handle his players. Westbrook has been proven a superstar, he won an MVP award and was once a triple-double machine, and I don't think he already pass his prime, so let's give him a chance.

He has this one whole season to prove that he is worthy to stay with the Lakers. He wasn't really the main problem, otherwise, he was already traded, the problem was the coaching style, that's why the new coach came in to make his own experiment, if he still fails, then we might see Westbrook getting traded and the new coach will be hired again.
