1841  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: August 10, 2022, 09:40:43 PM
Now the price of bitcoin has reached $ 24k and those who buy at $ 17k can get a profit of more than 40%, of course, this is a large profit, I bought the cheapest bitcoin at the price of $ 20560 and have received a profit of more than 15%, unfortunately, I only bought with a small amount of only $ 1200.

Bitcoin's volatility is top high nowadays. Some people even listened to FUD. But no matter how big or small the profits that we gained from Bitcoin's volatility, profit is still a profit and it's something that we should be grateful for. As long as we bought at a low price and sell it during a good recovery price, I guess that's still the right decision. I bought BTC at $20K and still holding it until I reach a good value. We all have different goals.
No one’s losing in bitcoin as long as long as you never sell at a loss. Whether you sell it earlier because you see profits already, I think that’s your own strategy wherein you are comfortable using. While others just prefer buying and hodling, it’s not also a bad idea to sell sometimes when you see profits and just buy back again as soon as the price drops more. Atleast, you are consistently making small profits the whole time.
1842  Economy / Economics / Re: Surprisingly, Elon's Tesla is not so keen on hodling BTC anymore on: August 10, 2022, 09:19:29 PM
Pretty easy decision for him and I think maybe some of us had so this coming. Obviously, it has something to do with the current state of the market and maybe he knows that he is going to lose money short term. So as a businessman, he has to shift and keep moving his money around so that it will still grow despite the current recession that we are having. So I'm not surprised, but I don't think this is an attack to bitcoin coming from him, just a business move, in my opinion.
Elon is smart, so he won’t sustain seeing his investments falling where it should be going forward. More like he wants to see his investments keep on generating an income, and I think bitcoin can’t do it for now. However, I believe Elon will buy back again when he sees opportunity to buy at its best price. Selling majority of his bitcoin does not mean he’s leaving the crypto market, as I bet he’s hodling a lot of dogecoin way back then. And definitely, his act of selling will never leave a huge negative impact on bitcoin market either.
1843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is dead! on: August 10, 2022, 08:58:09 PM
Yeah, imagine when BTC will crash from $200,000 to $100,000: run for your lives, sell everything and forget about it  Cheesy

Such drama in this world. This is why HODLing and relaxing is the best way to handle these things. 1 BTC = 1 BTC even in 2140.
Bitcoin has been dead a lot of times, and that’s what most of the people believe. When the whole market is crashing, bitcoin drastically drops its price and settle into a new low price. And from there, criticisms arise that bitcoin won’t no longer recover again and eventually die. However, only fools believed in it including those weak hands that eventually sell their bitcoin immediately. While strong hands remain firm and continue to buy and hold, as the price will eventually rise again and reach its new all time high.
1844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you guys invest meme coins now? on: August 09, 2022, 09:49:02 PM
So right now the market is unpredictable. Even in this condition as we all can see most YouTubers and even Kucoin, and Binance exchanges promote meme coins. What would you guys do about this meme coins project? are you guys ok to invest in these coins or rather not invest this time? because most famous coins like shib, and doge are now in the dip as we can see.
Investing in meme coins nowadays particularly in this bear market is something we need to avoid because it will only bring losses in the end. Though it seems profitable at first like we used to see dogecoin and shiba inu  before, but look at where they are now, their value have been very low and might lose their value eventually if they are not relevant anymore. If you want to invest for sure profits, just stick to bitcoin. Although the profits seem to happen for long, but you know it will never be undervalued.
1845  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie! Protect your name, it is your brand on: August 09, 2022, 08:55:05 PM
I guess having a nice username is nice, but it's importance is probably a bit too overblown. I mean, a reputable developer(Bitcoin Core, BTCPay, and Strike) has a username called "rockstardev". If you have a good reputation and if you work hard, what your username is — is pretty much unnecessary (unless you picked something like Hitler45 or something).
What matters most is how you leave impact to the other forum members because you are good enough and you can be a trusted quality poster. If that what is seen on you, no matter how stupid your username sounded, you will always leave a good image and that people will always look up to you as someone who’s name is highly reputable.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: August 08, 2022, 09:51:48 PM
That's fine but I think the basics are on YouTube and in some books like The Bitcoin Standard, Mastering Bitcoin, if these books and resources are available in your local language it will be easy for them to learn if they have some time.

A tip is to get them to stop thinking of Bitcoin as a short-term investment or a quick way to get rich.
If people will only see bitcoin as a get-rich-quick scheme, they will never come to understand bitcoin the right way. You should consider explain it to your neighbors OP as i believe their mothers have influenced them to approach you because they think bitcoin can get them rich quickly. And explain to them that bitcoin is only good to be used as a payment system as long as its not prohibited in your country. Otherwise, they should only consider bitcoin today as more of a long term investment.
1847  Economy / Economics / Re: U prepared for great depresion or u want to be surprised? on: August 08, 2022, 09:21:51 PM
You're sounding like you're the first to think that a recession/depression is coming. Literally almost everyone in crypto or investing in general communities have been talking about this for months now. Calling for a collapse is actually the common opinion now.
You will never grow if this will be your mindset all the time. Yes, we are currently experiencing global recession but hey mate, we are not yet falling apart. And we are still doing things to make the market normal again. But if you focus being negative and discourage the people around you, that way you will never be wanted at all. The current inflation is high, and so we should at least do things like bitcoin investments so we can combat its inflation effects.
1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 06, 2022, 12:01:44 PM
DeRozan is having his best season with the Chicago Bulls, he will continue next season, with the experience they had last season, they will be more mature and maybe they are not a championship team but who knows a surprise might happen. Remember when the Raptors won a championship, they are not a championship team but they beat the Warriors.
The raptors got lucky. They had a lucky shot against the sixers on their game seven and they play against injury-riddled Warriors in the finals. They have persistent and their teams are veterans with Kawhi leading the team. You cannot say that to the Bulls team.
Too much happened on that series against the Warriors. Steph Curry knew it when Klay went down, there is no way they will be able to win anymore.

DeRozan and the Bulls. Well, they started great last season and was even brought to the hype as a championship team. They have the talent, the defense, and a ball handler that was getting better as he progress.
Lack of experience is only what I see as an obstruction but they have DeRozan and LaVine and then injuries.
What they would need are players that can back them up whenever those circumstances happen again. I was amazed by DeRozan though, he played 76 games and this might be the prime of his career. The Bulls should take advantage of that and bring more roleplayers.
Adding Dragic is like adding more role players, he will not be a starter but he will be a good leader on the 2nd unit. Their defense are really evident and I also witnessed how they struggle after the injuries of their players, of course, they will be back this season with a more experience and probably a stronger team.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 06, 2022, 11:27:33 AM
The odds though doesn't change, Campa is still almost 9:1 underdog, just thinking it will not hurt if we throw some money on the underdog?
It's up to you, $2-$5 is still make sense.

Honestly I don't think Campa might pull an upset because he only fought an amateur boxers and this fight is the first for Campa on US as he only fought on his home e.g. Mexico. If the crowd will make him insecure and can't show all of his performance, he will be in trouble to face Lopez. Lopez is a skillful boxer and he's already cherry pick his opponent, he must win this fight.

That's why we can never trust with big money on him, maybe ma max of $10 would be enough for me, but I'm still thinking if I will go with that experiment though. Honestly, whether at what angle I will look, I don't see a reason Campa will be winning this fight.
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 06, 2022, 08:58:44 AM
Since both series are tied at 1-1, maybe you can still extend the cut-off time til the next game. Perhaps fans of Magnolia and Meralco want to throw some bets on them. They show good plays in their games earlier.

Yes, bro. That was really the plan and I'm even glad that both series are now even to give an equal chance for those hesitant to place a bet for Magnolia and Meralco. Come on, guys! Please join the fun. Smiley

Just place your desired bet on the team that you think will be crowned as the All-Filipino Champion then we will tally it later on a first come first serve basis.

Php 5,000 / max bet per team

Bet: Php 5,000 max bet/team | Winner Take All

Talk N Text - harizen (Php 5,000) - FULL
Magnolia -
San Miguel Beermen -jakelyson (Php 1,000) , bisdak40 (Php 2,000)
Meralco Bolts -

The cut-off time for placing bets is 5 minutes (4:25 PM) before Game 3 starts on Sunday, August 7, 4:30 PM, PH time.

I will go for 2,000 SMB to win the championship.

It would be nice if the amount will increase as I could go as high as Php7000, so the total bet for the team will be Php10,000.
1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 06, 2022, 08:10:51 AM
LOL.. did anyone checked the polls on this thread recently? Golovkin is favored by such a huge margin (almost 3:1). Despite his age, I am sure that this fight is going to be very competitive. Canelo is still reeling from his loss against Bivol. Golovkin on the other hand is in good momentum. Even during his press meets, Golovkin looks to be in very good shape. To be frank, I am not expecting a KO. Both the fighters do have very good defenses and it is almost impossible to knock them out. The result may be decided by the jury.

Yeah, he is favored here but on the betting odds, it's Canelo who is the heavy favorite, and betting odds are more reliable than our poll here, but who knows, we might be right with our prediction, and that would also mean we will win good money as the odds are high for GGG.

1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man Collapses after Allegedly Losing a $400 Loan at a Betting Shop on: August 05, 2022, 11:18:51 AM
He was being responsible, he only believes in the positive outcome but did not see the risk of losing, now he is surely regretting as he suddenly becomes homeless. I think this guy does not have a stable job though, because if he has, he can still pay the lose since he is earning, so it will only fall to the violation of the principle in gambling which is gamble what you can afford to lose.

We should not wait this would happen to us, we have to learn from the experience of other people.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 05, 2022, 10:50:41 AM
You got a point but let's be optimistic for now that this undisputed fight will happen this year somewhere before the month of December because it's clear that they are engaged into talks but unfortunately, it's quite longer than we expected because Spence really said that he's coming to get Crawford's belt. We waited enough for this that is why I really hope that this will happen sooner.

Yes and since there's no choice but to wait, we have to wait. They don't have to adjust for us and there's no such thing that they need to throw official information regularly for the satisfaction of the fans. Although we are now approaching the 4Q of this year, we should still say optimistically that there is good progress happening without us knowing it.

I'm sure this fight will commence this year. No excuses or no standing on their way to make it happened.

For sure both camps are aware about it, fans are trying to hype to push the fight to happen,

but likewise, there is no obligation from both camps to keep providing updates. They are just doing their job in terms
of looking for good terms for both ends, to sign the contract.

What we can do for now is to wait for further update, if there's something interesting for sure the social media world
will be polluted by news about this possible upcoming fights.
They let us make our own speculation so this fight will get more attention. Until now, we still have no idea if the fight would really push through this year but all of us are optimistic that it will happen. A positive update on the fight will add more on the exciting of waiting the fight, so hopefully that will come soon.
1854  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 05, 2022, 08:38:17 AM
What I'm reading about Howard right now is that he could be the Net's replacement for Drummond. He seems to be interested with the idea too but I think he just wants to land a team for next season and it doesn't matter if its the Nets or the Kings hehe. He's already looking for another career after NBA and he'll probably take another one-year min vet deal before calling it quits. That's plenty of time for him to get a new job.
Howard to the Kings Cheesy. That's their first move this off-season if that happens. They are the most silent team right now and aside from that, I also read a post in Facebook telling that "The Kings are the only team who doesn't have any losses in the playoffs for the last 16 years." You know what it means right? Tongue.

Howard is a really good 2nd option as a defender and he has been a big help to the 2020 Lakers where they got a championship. I hope that there will be a team that will get him even for a veteran minimum deal. If the Nets will get him, I wonder who will be the starting center of the team because for sure Howard will not be their starting Center. Drummond is more agile than him and now that they will replace him and with Aldridge becoming a free agent, who will be the starting center of the Nets.

Ok so Drummond already move from Nets to the Bulls, so it's probably Nic Claxton will be their starting center.  This kid has some moves, and has been improving since joining the Nets. So it's good that they have retained him, however, he has no back up in the center position and Howard might be a good fit. Although Nets have been known to play small as well, as they have the two best players in Durant and Irving (if they will remain at least this incoming season).

No other legit for the Nets aside from Claxton (https://www.nba.com/nets/roster), well, unless they will resign Aldrige then maybe that could help him. But this team have two superstars, so a decent center I think is already enough to help them win.
1855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 05, 2022, 08:09:24 AM
Looks like Meralco really made the right adjustment, they were up by double digits early but now they are only up 3 points after the first half. What's important is they started strong, now, let's see if they will be able to carry that intensity in the 2nd half to even the series.
1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will Never Fall Again on: August 04, 2022, 09:12:47 PM
It isn't advisable to rely on the opinions and advice of influencers on Youtube simply because they could release false information to deceive their viewers especially if they're advertising or offering a service, project, or product that will benefit them in return. Influencers are just making money regardless of the type of information that they're sharing so we should do our own research instead.
You are not completely right because I think there is some information we can take from their trading knowledge and experience although in the end you will have to do your own research. Not believing 100% is true, but if you don't try to learn from the experiences of others, it's wrong.

You can assume that everything that other people share visually, in writing or otherwise about investing and trading is not good financial advice, but rest assured you can also gain additional knowledge from them especially about new things that you haven't fully heard of and your responsibility is to filter that information properly.
Crypto influencers can sometimes be right or wrong. But the fact that they have gained more knowledge and skills from their different experiences in crypto makes them good influencers in the long run. However, relying in them fully with all our decisions might be risky in the end, that is why aside from their own ideas and opinions, we should also do our own part of research so we can correct if there are mistakes seen from their own shared ideas.

Betting lines are out for game 2.

SMB -5.5 vs Bolts +5.5

Hotshots +2.5 vs TNT -2.5

With this kind of odds, I'm staying away on the Bolts but would rather put my bet on Hotshots ML.
What are your thoughts on the games tomorrow?
1858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: August 04, 2022, 07:14:56 AM
Ruiz is the obvious favorite as far as the odds though. He is not that active though, so hopefully there will be no ring rust for him. Otherwise if Ortiz started to get hot in the early round and caught him with good shots then maybe it will have a serious consequence.

Still worth to watch this fight though, I mean two heavy banger and I would say that both are in the breaking point of their career. A lost will simply put them out of the contention.

He is the younger guy and as Ortiz is already over 40. We cannot forget that Ruiz upset Joshua the first time they meet, so I have my trust him since Ortiz is not a champion and he is probably going to retirement. I just hope that we will see an exciting fight, and if Ruiz will indeed win this, he will be given a chance to fight Joshua again for a trilogy.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 04, 2022, 06:41:03 AM
Although it was a one sided fight on their first meeting, I think I will still support Jerwin Ancajas and hope that he will be able to make the right adjustment in this rematch. I like to believe that Jerwin as a Filipino warrior will not allow himself not to be able to bounce back and be a champion again.

What are the betting odds of this fight?
1860  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the future of Bitcoin uncertain? on: August 03, 2022, 09:58:54 PM
What could be the state of Bitcoin in the future?

This is discussed all the time but I am asking this question because my elder brother said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not exist anymore and will be completely dead. He also said that after 2025 Bitcoin will not be mined so that Bitcoin will not be able to hold its own position.

So I would like to know from you how reasonable this statement is?
How did your brother made a fixed prediction when no one else here is capable to rightly predict that future of bitcoin. It’s more like he’s been scammed by all the fake news circulating around. In fact, 2025 is predicted to be a good year for bitcoin, as miners will continue to mined bitcoin that is bound to reach $100k as how analysts predicted its future price. If your brother comes up with another conclusion, then he must be one of those negative analysts concerning bitcoin.
