DYIP almost break their losing streak as they fought really hard against SMB.

SMB only won by 1 point, the final score is 108-109.
Easy wi on DYIP handicap, and almost the ML.

Yeah, it was a close game, no one would expect that DYIP will be able to have a competitive game.

The spread was like -16.5 for the SMB Beerman and yet they only won by 1 point, SMB backers are not happy with the result for sure.

Btw, Fajardo was the best player in this game.
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bear markets are for building on: July 13, 2022, 09:58:13 PM
The illustration speaks a whole lot. During bull market everything seems green and many misinterpret the moment as time to build whereas building and accumulation is a thing of the bear. Bullish season is a reward season, a compensation season as well  for patience. some times the FOMO push new investors to start building when the bulls have exhausted their grip.

Just like an african proverb says you don't search for a black goat at night. Investment is appreciated when everything seems down
That's how people see the bullish market as a time for everything because the prices are very positive and they even believe that these prices will stay on top and won't fall down anymore. These people might not only be selling their coins, but also be buying new coins. And when the market suddenly crash, they start losing everything. Although people seem so stupid if we think, but i guess that's how they learn and cope up in the crypto market, they always learn it the hard way.
1923  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: don't be fooled by titles. on: July 13, 2022, 09:42:06 PM
After reading how a forum user  Almost Gave Scammers Access To his wallet, there is a need to state how important it is not to be deceived or fooled by titles. This is an advice to newbies and some other forum users to not be deceived or fooled by titles. There is a tendency for someone to let his/her guard down when approached or contacted by another person with a title like Chief executive officer(CEO), Managing director(MD), Consultant, Project Manager, Business Development Manager, Investor, Forex trader etc. due to the fact that titles naturally accord respect to the individual who bears them. Do not be deceived, scammers can easily bear these titles to have an advantage over you.

Don't let your guard down.
No matter how respective their titles are, still they are not responsible for whatever losses you may encounter in the future. So always do the right thing before giving your trust and giving your money, research and research until you see red flags that will help you to determine that you're falling for a scam. Scammers will always disguise theirselves in people whom they think you can't turn them down, but when you start seeing things that are too good to be true, then do not hesitate to turn them down.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Saves my relatives both of Life, Time and money on: July 13, 2022, 04:45:22 PM
It feels weird to tell someone their story is fake especially if it really happened to a family member. But there seems to be too many illogical things in this one.
I once won a few grands in a physical sportsbook and I was asked to submit my banking information where the money would be routed. They didn't want to give me the cash. I find it hard to believe he was given a suitcase or a bag full of money and shown the exit door. You also mentioned he talked to the police and they helped him apparently. How did they help him, and if he got the help he needed, why did he still need to buy the bitcoins? If attempt were made to kill him, those responsible should/would have been arrested.
The conviction of how bitcoin saves time and money is a fact, but the story behind i think is not happening in real life. Although its possible to win such a huge amount but handling it all to you in a form of cash, that sounds unrealistic. Here in our country, mostly it will be done through bank transactions. And you can't just withdraw it all at once, the bank provides withdrawals limit. I guess even if the story is cut short, the flow of events is still hard to believe. Converting all your fiat into bitcoin, that thing alone is very risky to make.
1925  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency market is currently a hot spot for whales. on: July 13, 2022, 04:10:19 PM
It will be more easy for whales to manipulate the market now than when it was bull. The market volume might not reduce much but the price of Bitcoin is low now, and it means the whales have much power now to manipulate the market.

But the at this stage of bitcoin price, everyone can actually benefit from it. Just buy bitcoin and hold for long and the activities of the whales will not affect you.
What whales actually do in the market now is to shake the market more so that strong hands will be more tested and weak hands will be more prone to fears and end up panicking. That's the time weak hands sell their hodlings, and since we are in a bear market, the whales will actively buying it at a very affordable price. Not just the whales alone, but even for those who know exactly what bear market opportunities brings, they eventually grab the chance buying more bitcoin while the price is highly discounted.
1926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear markets are a time for building, development and research on: July 12, 2022, 09:48:12 PM
Being greedy with your capital could cause you to lose most of that very quickly, there is no need to do something like that. I personally would prefer if the world would understand the logic of crypto and how you could make a profit from it in the long run but there are plenty of people who do not understand it at all, and that creates a bit of a chaos.

This is the simple reason why the best thing I could think of about crypto right now would be not being greedy but being able to accumulate without having any financial trouble. If you do that and you can hold onto it for a long time, then you should be able to make a big profit without risking too much of your own living.
Greed has no place in crypto, or in any types of investments. If you could invest perfectly having the right timing in the market, and with the funds  you can afford to lose, i think that will always make you profitable in the long run. What is very important in this bear market is not how huge the funds we get to invest, but if we get to invest in the right coins. When the market is totally bearish, all the coins have become cheap, and if you are not cautious and just go on random investing, you will always fall on the wrong coins.
1927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Reasons why there's an Increasing Crypto Scam Rate on: July 12, 2022, 09:21:46 PM
OP, no need to associate cryptocurrencies with scams. Fraudsters appeared exactly when the possibility of deception arose. And this, as you know, has been popular since the dawn of mankind.

Therefore, there will always be people who are ready to profit at the expense of others. And no matter how, the main thing is that deception is their way of existence.

If we talk about cryptocurrencies, then scams have been around for a long time, but again, as soon as the price value of any coin appears, scammers will immediately be ready to take away what they own from people.

That is life.
Scamming is already part of our lives, not only in crypto. Even if the government creates a campaign for free education for the people, scamming will always be around. However, the rate of scamming in crypto is clearly high, as long as money is involved, i guess there will always be increase  rate of scamming. And for some people who got scammed, most likely its their own choice to be scammed. Otherwise, they have taken full responsibility and high caution in cases where scamming is mostly observed.
1928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: July 12, 2022, 08:58:54 PM
Well, that's not surprising. Good deals are made by buying cheap, and now is a time when Bitcoin is cheap. We can't know i the next few months it could go lower, I wouldn't rule it out, but we are definitely in a clear buy zone if you plan to hold bitcoin for the long term. Uninformed retail investors usually do the opposite: they bought above $60-69k and sold recently.
This is how the strong hands move in the market, they buy at its lowest price and sell at its peak. And right now, the market condition is definitely a perfect time to buy and accumulate a lot of bitcoin to maximize bitcoin portfolio. However, not all realized this. Weak hands get panic instead and develop fears. That is why instead of seizing the opportunities to buy in the market, they resort into panic selling which brought them a lot of losses in the end. That's how they learned their lesson as the crypto market is hardly learned.
1929  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: July 11, 2022, 09:30:39 PM
Hi guys,

After the immense hype up of the crypto industry, I jumped into crypto investing last year along with al lot of the casuals. I spent a couple of hundred bucks but sold just above break even point after the market crash last year. I was forced to because I needed the money to invest into myself to find a good job. Now that I've found a job, I started investing in crypto currency again, and started doing my due diligence.

My goal right know is to accumulate as much crypto as I can, but I'm not sure what the best strategy is considering the current economic factors. The approach I've had over the past couple of months has just been dropping a portion of my salary each month into crypto. But now I'm considering stacking my fiat to buy in on the bottom of this bear cycle which I think is yet to come. Would this be a wise decision? Or should I just keep going with the approach I have now?

EDIT

I would like to thank everyone for their helpful advise so far, I will definitely take each point made into serious consideration. Also from the points made, it lets me now that my mindset is where it should be.

Right know I'm heavily focused on accumulating as much Eth as I can. I'm almost at the goal I've set for myself in terms of how much I'd like to have before investing in another coin, since I've started investing again a short while ago. Next up I'd like to stack some ADA and BTC of course. But I can't help but wonder is accumulating ETH and ADA the right move right now? Or should I be more invested in BTC in terms of potential long-term returns?
Do not repeat the same mistake again and lose everything. For now, learn to invest in bitcoin with just an amount you are not afraid to lose. Although you could maximize your bitcoin investment particularly in buying from the dip, but never allocate all your salary to bitcoin. Save some of it for future needs. You can invest in bitcoin and hold for it for long term investment, that is the most common strategy that will make you rich eventually if you always sell them at their highest peak.
1930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 09, 2022, 01:32:21 PM
And he has been criticized as well by many basketball analyst, leaving Nets and then the Warriors winning the championship? That could really hurt Durant inside that's why he wanted to leave and find a new team to win again. But time is running out, it will be hard to find a championship caliber team in exchange of him.

Actually Durant should not be surprise that the Warriors won a championship because the Warriors are already a championship team before he joined the team. He only made the Warriors better but they are still good even without him, as Draymond said, "we don't need you", he was right.

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2018/11/16/draymond-green-reportedly-told-kevin-durant-we-dont-need-you-we-won-without-you-leave/

This is the reason why Durant join the Warriors because he know that this is already a championship caliber team and he will get more higher chances to get a ring with them compare if he stays in OKC. Now its proven that he cannot lift up his team when he's on Brooklyn and this one indicate that they don't need Durant to win another championship.
Durant had a good season with OKC, if they only continue to build their team, they might become a championship team, but he took the shortcut, win a championship by joining a good team and leaving to prove that he does not need the Warriors, turns out he was wrong, so he cannot come back to the Warriors now. I cannot imagine what Green is thinking about him now.  Smiley
That trio in OKC should have been unstoppable but Durant was kinda in high regard for his talent, when in fact they were already a championship-caliber during that time when they made it to the NBA Finals in 2012. He's just an opportunist I'd say, when he sees that GSW lacks anymore the chance to get a ring, he forms another team in BKLYN and one source tells that he demanded lot of trade for that. It's a slap to his face, I'd say.

I almost forget they had a trio, are you referring to Serge Ibaka?

This guy has been a huge asset for the OKC but they could not really win a champion.
Of the big 3, only Westbrook has not won a championship.

Durant won as Warriors, while Ibaka won as Toronto Raptors.

1932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: July 09, 2022, 11:35:22 AM
There's no doubt that he can do that at his age, the question is can he find an open shot to hit Canelo Hard? GGG is old, might be slower a bit but he still got his power, so if Canelo would be too complacent and would underestimate GGG, then we might see a huge upset here.
Canelo has an iron chin and he has been tested against Bivol who a knock out artist, but he can still survive even Bivol did punches him many times in every rounds. Bivol is more faster than GGG too, so I doubt GGG could knock out Canelo. In other sides, GGG is really hard to win via decision due to don't have reach advantages and biased jury favor on Canelo. If GGG is a boxer who have a fight style of take less damage or dodge like Haney or Mayweather, there's a chance GGG will win via decision.
GGG would be boring if he is like Mayweather, I like his style and I think that's what makes him popular. He maybe older but we never know, this is boxing and we don't know the condition of the boxers fighting on a certain day, so I just hope that GGG will give everything in his last fight with Canelo.

Chot Reyes back as Gilas Pilipinas coach for 2022 Fiba Asia Cup

Quote
Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes in the 31st SEA Games. SEA GAMES POOL

MANILA, Philippines — Chot Reyes will call the shots for Gilas Pilipinas in the 2022 Fiba Asia Cup from July 12 to 24 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

After missing the third window of the Fiba World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) announced on Friday evening that Reyes, who is also the program director, will be back to coach the young Philippine men’s basketball squad.

What do you think about this news? is it a good news, or a bad news?

Please share your thoughts about this one, because I read a lot of negative comments regarding this.

It's bad news, hehe.. Sorry, but seems like coach Chot is not right to lead the Gilas if they want to achieve a good result, we need to try a new coach that could build a system we can develop in the long run, his coaching style I think is already obsolete.

By the way, ROS finally broke their losing streak, and NLEX now is on a losing streak.

96-86, ROS won by 10 points.
1934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 09, 2022, 08:00:20 AM
That's a big challenge for him, he has to start over again but it's never too late for him, he has the heart of a champion, it's just that he struggle to keep the weight in the division where he was a champion.

Yeah, but Casimero is already on his prime years and he just wanted a couple of fights already. So if he will start all over at the new weight class, it might be too late for him to get another belt. The perfect time is when he won it against Tete, then defended it against Duke Micah and unfortunately he can't do it against Butler. And there are no fights for him this year, so another chances squandered.

He should learn from this experience, he has a good opportunity to face Inoue if the Butler fight push through, but Inoue now wants to be an undisputed title holder, and Casimero is not on his radar now, he will have to wait for the winner of the Inoue -  Butler fights and promoters consider him to be the next challenger, Casimero has become nightmares for promoters he should have discipline and not too showy because it backfires, time to leave social media and return fighting inside the ring.

If Casimero will stay in the bantamweight division, he can still fight Butler in case Butler will lose against Inoue. Inoue will become the undisputed champion and will probably move up to try to bring his power and speed to a higher division. Not much news for Casimero now, some fans maybe lose their interest on him since he is not a champion anymore.
1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 09, 2022, 07:12:12 AM
There is less than a day left before the fight and now the boxers' chances are leveled and the adds return to the original ones, let the strongest win, but I will still cross my fingers and wait for Mark Magsayo to win.

We have to unite here to support Magsayo on the biggest challenge in his boxing career.

He knows how big is at stake here, his current belt and his future depend on the outcome of the fight, so he has to win this.
Magsayo by KO, that is my prediction.

Same prediction here, there's no other way but a KO win is what would make Magsayo impress the boxing community. Lots of criticisms in the past, but he is here again to prove that he is a legit champion and he is going to successfully defend his belt.

Magsayo to win by KO @5.18, hoping my ticket will hit.

This game was not fun to watch, it should first game instead of Blackwater vs Phoenix IMO.

All the games of the DYIP are not fun to watch because you already know they will not win. This is a bonus for the gamblers because DYIP has not covered the spread even if the spread is very high, this team has probably lost its morale now that they are on 8 losing streaks.

1-against Blackwater lose by 37 points
2-against TNT loss by 28 points
3-against Ginebra lose by 24 points
4-against Phoenix lose by 23 points
5-against Magnolia lose by 21 points
6-against Northport lose by 14 points
7-against converged lose by 13 points
8-against NLEX lose by 3 points

1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 08, 2022, 12:08:39 PM
^^ I guess it's how boxing is right now, or at least in the last 20 years, it is being controlled by few and very powerful men.

It's not just the promoters themselves, but we also have the network wars, like HBO and Showtime, and now DAZN and ESPN.

Al Haymon is very powerful and same as Bob Arum or before that, Don King. So it's a vicious cycle than only few men really benefited.

I guess Bob's careful match making, and that's why he made a lot of champions, and not sure about it, but perhaps it was all in-house championship fights.

Bob has been in the business for decades I believe, so what can you expect? He is already clever enough to ensure that the cash flow will continue, and that includes looking for a fight that his fighter will win so he can continue milking it.
1938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Be a Failure Even If It Hits $100,000, Says "Black Swan" Author !! on: July 07, 2022, 07:50:54 PM
If the bitcoin reaches those prices, no one will listen to these analyzes, so there is no point in them, especially at the present time, which everyone knows that it is difficult to reach these levels during the next two years.
What he is trying to say is just flattening historical phrases like “Bitcoin is a bubble” “Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme” “Nobody but drug dealers use Bitcoin” “Only failed states accept Bitcoin.”
There are nothing new when it comes to bitcoin attacks. Those words are only good for those who are still naive about bitcoin, but for those who already know bitcoin well, these set of words will always be insignificant. And that bitcoin has never been a failure, because if it is, then majority of the people are dumping bitcoin by now. Instead, they never stop taking chances to buy as much bitcoin as they can. That only proves that bitcoin is still highly valuable.

Here's the salary of the Wizards roster.

https://www.spotrac.com/nba/washington-wizards/cap/

Porzingis is next to Beal with $33 million by next season, and I don't think the Wizards will try to trade him but I'm sure there's still some place to add role players that will make the roster of the Wizards deep.

Porzingis has good stats but if you look at his impact in the actual game, it's not that much that's why Dallas let him go. Now, that he was out in Dallas, they became a better team and they beat the Suns IIRC in the playoffs who is the favorite to win the NBA championship. I think they should also try to trade Porzingis for a younger and a healthy player/s.

That cannot be denied, since he was injured, he is not the same aggressive Porzingis again and that's the reason why Dallas traded him. Beal needs someone who can consistently play with him and are not afraid to get injured so he can give his best every game. The Wall and Beal tandem was actually good but when Wall got injured and missed a season, things changed and the management decided to trade him for Westbrook who was also traded afterward.
