I will do an youtube video review when I receive my Avalons. will ask someone to shoot and give enough details so that there is no scope of confusion.

1946  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Number of Avalon boxes in the wild as of today on: March 14, 2013, 10:15:35 PM
dont bother, china is owning bitcoin mining right now...

Shipping within china does not cause Customs to take notice. I guess those orders were given higher priority
1947  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 14, 2013, 05:16:31 AM
I am not jealous, but my excitement is dwindling each day that passes without receiving my Avalon ASICS.
1948  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Number of Avalon boxes in the wild as of today on: March 13, 2013, 09:58:05 PM
Not a reputed seller (3 feedback score).

Hey can you post you resignation letter? I need to send one soon, to dive into self employment. need ideas.

No there is some NDA stuff in there.  The paraphrased version is something like

Quote
resigning ... last day ... thankful ... generosity of the company ... trust and confidence you have shown ... this is something I need to see through ....

Everything's down at EMC. Saw the warning, and was reading the 0.7-0.8 thread. Tried to log into EMC to make sure it doesn't autosend any of my coins and screw with the blockchain. Can't login, miners have stopped.

Is this some sort of emergency shutdown? Doesn't EMC need to be online and mining to help fix the blockchain?
Website is down, us3 is down. us2 is up though.

Since Avalon ASIC is shipping, I am trying to crowd-source batch 1 order progress.

If nothing else the next year is going to be interesting.  I tendered my letter of resignation last Friday.  Since August of last year I along with my business partner and investors have build Tangible Cryptography, LLC from an idea to an enterprise executing almost a million dollars a week in transactions.  To date we have done this without any full time staff, just a lot of out of the box thinking and clever back end automation.  It is time to make a leap of faith so starting in April I will be working full time for the company I helped build.   I have lots of exciting ideas to bring to the Bitcoin community and soon Tangible Cryptography will have both the funding and resources to make them happen.  When I first read Satoshi's paper back in 2011 I never imagined that the next chapter of my career would be connected to Bitcoin.  It has been an exciting couple years and I am confident that there are only bigger and better opportunities over the horizon.

1954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert: chain fork caused by pre-0.8 clients dealing badly with large blocks on: March 12, 2013, 03:44:26 AM
0.8 is not flawed. The flaw lied in 0.7 and below. If an upgrade was hastened, the problem would not have been a problem at all.
Sadly, 0.8 is flawed— its "one job" was to faithfully follow the behavior of 0.7, "bugs" and all. It did not. Had we known about this behavior in 0.7 or had testing turned it up we would have made sure 0.8 behaved the same way.

This is the nature of a distributed consensus system.  The primary definition of right and wrong is "consistent" and if you aren't consistent you aren't right, no matter what.

The testing should have happened with the older version of Bitcoin. I don't see how testing 0.8 would fix this issue, given that 0.8 fixes the bug.

from Inaba. "EMC is on the .7 chain, no need to worry if you are mining on EMC."
1956  Bitcoin / Pools / List of v0.7 pools on 3/11/2013, 3/12/2013 on: March 12, 2013, 02:05:11 AM
Pool operators, please add your poolname for miners to know that current status.

BTC Guild:  Downgraded to 0.7 on all but one node so far, that node is almost downgraded. UPDATE:  All BTC Guild servers are back on 0.7.

from Inaba. "EMC is on the .7 chain, no need to worry if you are mining on EMC."

Ozcoin ecoinpool nodes eu.ozco.in:8332 and us.ozco.in:8332 are still fine - running older bitcoind, stratum nodes under downgrade atm and will be up soon

Eligius are unaffected

bitparking is running 0.7 nodes.

Deepbit is 0.3.21 IIRC

BitMinter mining on 0.7

Slush 0.8 with sipa patch, so it's safe here

Coinotron = 0.7 ( stratum and getwork )

50BTC.com 0.7

BTCOxygen using 0.7

Triplemining has switched back to 0.7, as announced by our tweet...

Is emc using 0.7 or 0.8 ?

I should point out that Avalon sold 1000 units within Batch 1 (in China).

less FUD please, there's total of 300 units for batch one, -/+ 10. this includes in china. fun fact: we rejected 2x 100+ orders and a deal to buy the whole 300 unit lot.

p.s.
sorry about the DHL delay guys, since we are doing shipping through another company we get the tracking a few days after we ship, and due information being passed through multiple parties, it is entirely possible you'll receive units before tracking information, which is currently what is happening.
+1 Thanks for contributing to miner diversity

thank god.
What happened in the LTC arena?
1960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRC price up! on: March 11, 2013, 07:15:15 AM
TRC reached 5x the price recently on Vircurex. Looks like the spillover from BTCers is starting to happen. Alt coins for the win!

Even LTC is showing a bull run. Any ideas / speculations?
