This was called Crypto before bitcoin even arrived.

I have nothing against cryptography. It's the basis of Bitcoin.

It's craptocurrencies that suck.

Understood, yet that "crypto" word is maligned around here all by itself..for no good reason.
I have a thick skin due to my age and personal history, but that cursing Bender-lite nincompoop-I like to tickle his/its electrical senses from time to time.

Pickford is not any worse than gigantic (in height and reach) Donnarumma.
The guy (P.) has super good reflexes.
England might be posed for a deep run in the WC2022.

Sure that might be good for some but look what it did to McAfee.

what is the most insane about it is that it is not even relevant to US citizens as they are taxed on worldwide income basis (with a small and tenuous carve-out in Puerto Rico).
The only way is not to sell, lol.

I guess the most imortant question now is are we in a bear market? And if so, for how long we will be there, before starting to climb up to the last ATH and break it? If the trend changes in the next few weeks, I guess it won't be right to call it a bear market but rather a transition/recovery period from Elon&China FUD (actually they are the same, since there is leaked information that CCP is investing in Tesla and wants Elon to ban Bitcoin). In 2017 we had 3 such periods. The first in the winter - about 1 month, the second in the summer - about 2 months and the third in the autumn - about 1 month. So it is a bit early to tell if the current period is like an extended version of 2017's sideway periods. I guess, however, that if this period extends over 6 months, then we can hardly deny we've entered some kind of a bear market. Time will tell, I guess.

You could be right re the 'bear period' and we shall see shortly. Another possibility is when hedge funds/wall street started to get involved, they started to frontrun both bull and bear, distorting the cycles. First, take a note that we "front run"/overshot the bull chart (both fractal and S2F) twice already in this cycle. Also note 'analysts' like Scott Minerd.
First, he was rah-rahring about 300K when we were just above 20, now he turned into a bear with 10-15K calls. This is WS for you. When they get into a position, they would provide wild numbers on both upside and downside, especially those "shops" (like Oppenheimer) that mostly work with the hedge funds.
On a positive note, they could also compress the 'bear part' from 1-1.5 year into only a few months.
In this situation, it would be hardly a 4 year cycle, but some waves and wave breaks, which is what i expect, with adoption and Metcalf's law being more important than halving.

People are driving crazily these days.
Not sure if this is caused by PTSD-lite or less concern for their own life or the life of others, but something is happening.
Maybe we got some kind of 'mind' virus? I don't mean it literally, of course.
2108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 09, 2021, 02:20:44 AM
If 'they' are setting up ~32K to be like 6.5K in 2018, then my calculations and approximations (from proportionally reduced plunges) give a bottom at 20-21K (the exact number is about 20.5K, but the whole thing is a projection and unlikely to exactly "fit").
It could be just a wick. I can handle this price without being upset.

Of course, if we go there, it means that we were in the bear market and then we would start recovering, hopefully.
It would also mean that the whole cycle was front run on the bull side.
Next cycle might not even be a real cycle since the impact of halving would be smaller and other factors (adoption) could become more important.

Italy has a long streak of not losing, England has a home advantage.
ITA has one more day of rest.
Interesting...imho, whoever scores first, wins.

PS: IN US, they edited out in youtube clip HOW R. Sterling got a penalty.
Think whatever you want about it. To me it did not look a real penalty, but I am not a ref.
If this s-t repeats itself with Italy, then I would believe in conspiratorial UEFA wanting England to be a winner, but we shall see.

Personally, I don't support mandatory vaccinations, but having a relatively large pool of unvaccinated people increases the "field" for the virus to propagate in and, therefore, produce new variants that could potentially break through to both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Non-replicating virus cannot mutate.

... see above, the vaccines are non-sterilising so the virus is still replicating, and mutating, among the vaccinated so your logic is based on a fallacy

.... it maybe advantageous in these circumstances to maintain a pool of unvaccinated in case a mutant that proves to be extraordinarily deadly arises in the vaccinated population that is less deadly for the naturally immune, as an insurance policy for humanity

Maybe, but I wouldn't be so categorical about non-sterilizing as there is some evidence that moderna could be sterilizing 90 days after 2nd injection (see ref 10 in the link below):
https://www.verywellhealth.com/covid-19-vaccines-and-sterilizing-immunity-5092148

re second-there is always a good idea to have some people that are different in behavior and everything else, hence i do not support mandatory vaxxing (apart from very deadly agents, of course).

@suchmoon

In the UK, anybody who is infected with COVID but dies up to 28 days after testing positive of anything is recorded as a COVID death.

You could test positive today but get run over by a truck next week & your death would be officially recorded as a COVID death stat.

I am not kidding!

I’m mid 30’s, haven’t been vaccinated, unsure if I will but at the moment i don’t feel the need to.

I think the COVID deaths recorded are way over cooked. Mostly older & already ill people die of/with COVID. I’m not a conspiracy nut but the whole charade has been ridiculous imo.

On 19 July all social distancing is legally removed & masks are no longer required by law here & I can’t wait.

How it was counted is irrelevant since excess mortality went up and now mostly disappeared (after vaccination campaign in US and UK-see graph, choose UK and US.
First decline were masks/closing/soc distancing, second- vaccination.

Time Travel brings me to Electricity. What do you guys think Reality is powered by? Electricity. Which many Electrical currents exist. Its a selfsustainable element which is the fundamental to all life in the Creation. Electricity is attraction and gravity, it is everything , it moves particles around . Smiley... However i would like to explore the Holy Element even further to broaden my horizons by experimenting with various elemental procedures.

It is sad that we are currently 100 years into the Electrical era and we as Humanity think we have tapped into the outmost absolute secrets and ways about it .

Looks like someone just discovered lsd.

Thanks, fellas, I will probably watch it.

You know we're waiting for a full review, right?

Quite entertaining...harks back to "Aliens" for me, albeit I am always seeing weird dreams after such rush. Lotsa teeth. A solid B.
Without issuing spoilers, there is always this nagging question about time travel: you went to the future where you did something, then went back to the past and did something that prevents you even being in the future; then how, exactly, did you get something to the past from that future that you erased (prevented from ever happening) in the past. Basically, a gradfather paradox.

So, who is winning on penalties in the final? I, E or D?
My feeling is TYPICALLY..if you win one game like this by penalties..you typically lose the second (if there are penalties again).

20 Things I've Learned (Or Had Confirmed) About Humanity During The 'Pandemic' (THREAD):

1/ Most people would rather be in the majority, than be right.
2/ At least 20% of the population has strong authoritarian tendencies, which will emerge under the right conditions.
3/ Fear of death is only rivalled by the fear of social disapproval. The latter could be stronger.
4/ Propaganda is just as effective in the modern day as it was 100 years ago. Access to limitless information has not made the average person any wiser.
5/ Anything and everything can and will be politicised by the media, government, and those who trust them.
6/ Many politicians and large corporations will gladly sacrifice human lives if it is conducive to their political and financial aspirations.
7/ Most people believe the government acts in the best interests of the people. Even many who are vocal critics of the government.
8/ Once they have made up their mind, most people would rather to commit to being wrong, than admit they were wrong.
9/ Humans can be trained and conditioned quickly and relatively easily to significantly alter their behaviours - for better or worse.
10/ When sufficiently frightened, most people will not only accept authoritarianism, but demand it.
11/ People who are dismissed as 'conspiracy theorists' are often well researched and simply ahead of the mainstream narrative.
12/ Most people value safety and security more than freedom and liberty, even if said 'safety' is merely an illusion.
13/ Hedonic adaptation occurs in both directions, and once inertia sets in, it is difficult to get people back to 'normal'.
14/ A significant % of people thoroughly enjoy being subjugated.
15/ 'The Science' has evolved into a secular pseudo-religion for millions of people in the West. This religion has little to do with science itself.
16/ Most people care more about looking like they are doing the right thing, rather than actually doing the right thing.
17/ Politics, the media, science, and the healthcare industries are all corrupt, to varying degrees. Scientists and doctors can be bought as easily as politicians.
18/ If you make people comfortable enough, they will not revolt. You can keep millions docile as you strip their rights, by giving them money, food, and entertainment.
19/ Modern people are overly complacent and lack vigilance when it comes to defending their own freedoms from government overreach.
20/ It's easier to fool a person than to convince them that they have been fooled.
Bonus thought:

21/ Most people are fairly compassionate and have good intentions (this is good)

Here's hoping "21/" can carry the rest (1-20), with the help from Bitcoin we might just pull it off (I'm a sucker for happy endings).

20/21 observations sadly are correct.
1/21 observations happily are correct.

You're not quite a complete cynic yet though, give it some time.

I wish you were wrong. But at 64 and watching life patterns repeat 🔂 throughout america and the rest of the world 🌎. I am far more cynical than I was in 1980.

As it comes to vaccines, i am not vxxed yet, because i am waiting for a certain vaccine (VLA2001) based on sterilized sars-cov-2 virus, which should be available in autumn and deliver the best protection with the lowest risk of negative health reactions, also for longer times (5-10 years). A classic vaccine, just entered 3rd trial phase. I can barely wait to see results.
Before i get the shot i want to do an antibody test as well, but avoid experimental vaccines like mRNA at all cost. In the face of the approaching "D-variant" (a.k.a. "delta mutation") wave, i'm a little under pressure.

Once i was into conspiracy theories a little too deep, i'm no more into that shit now for almost 20 years Cool

SHIT! I did the mRNA vaccine (the Pfizer variety, 2 doses done already)! I'm currently having a heated discussion about this issue with my cousin (the new coiner with 0.3 BTC), in which he is adamant that I made a grave mistake by having the mRNA vaccine, and will most likely die or suffer extremely serious health problems in under 6 months from now. Seriously, no joke! We even made a bet about it. He claims that by Q2 2022 about 1 billion people will have died of the mRNA vaccine. He bases his predictions on the claims by Robert Kennedy Jr.

Not really worried, but looking forward to the end of that 6-month period... Damn!  Shocked

Dude, how seriously severe to think about a (least) possible vaccination outcome. You'll be doing fine if you tolerated the two shots well.
While in Pfizer's own research results, mRNA vaxxes statistically cause about four times more severe outcomes and hospitalizations than in the control group, regarding age 12-15. Around here the politics heavily point to vaccination of the younger ones, to protect the elderly and working adults (you realize how actually sick this agenda is?).

See below directly from the approval documents:

Quote
The frequency of serious adverse events†† was low among all participants; five serious adverse events (0.4%) were reported among vaccine recipients and two (0.2%) among placebo recipients, with no statistically significant difference in frequency observed between the two groups (5). These serious adverse events encompassed medical events occurring at a frequency similar to that in the general population aged 12–15 years, with none considered to be related to vaccination (5).

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8136423/

The point is, you cannot really make a stat distinction between 4 and 2 out of 1100 for each (vaccine or no vaccine).
I would like to see a number of zero, of course.

Uhm...
Here's a ink to the whole story:
https://www.bmj.com/content/373/bmj.n1635/

That's just someones interpretation of the actual study that appeared here:
https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMoa2107456

In Adverse effect section it clearly states that there was less severe adverse effects in 12-15 yo vs 16-25 yo comparing with what you wrote (that there was 4 times MORE in younger patients: 12-15).
Regardless this current situation, i suggest to always go to the source and not some interpretative writings.
