As it comes to vaccines, i am not vxxed yet, because i am waiting for a certain vaccine (VLA2001) based on sterilized sars-cov-2 virus, which should be available in autumn and deliver the best protection with the lowest risk of negative health reactions, also for longer times (5-10 years). A classic vaccine, just entered 3rd trial phase. I can barely wait to see results.
Before i get the shot i want to do an antibody test as well, but avoid experimental vaccines like mRNA at all cost. In the face of the approaching "D-variant" (a.k.a. "delta mutation") wave, i'm a little under pressure.

Once i was into conspiracy theories a little too deep, i'm no more into that shit now for almost 20 years Cool

SHIT! I did the mRNA vaccine (the Pfizer variety, 2 doses done already)! I'm currently having a heated discussion about this issue with my cousin (the new coiner with 0.3 BTC), in which he is adamant that I made a grave mistake by having the mRNA vaccine, and will most likely die or suffer extremely serious health problems in under 6 months from now. Seriously, no joke! We even made a bet about it. He claims that by Q2 2022 about 1 billion people will have died of the mRNA vaccine. He bases his predictions on the claims by Robert Kennedy Jr.

Not really worried, but looking forward to the end of that 6-month period... Damn!  Shocked

At least he makes a testable prediction, lol.

Alright, underwent some health condition, but i'm OK now again. Nothing too serious, bit of headache, sore throat and short periods of cold shivers, but mainly fatigue.
It needed a lot of sleep to cure out.
I isolated myself from the family because of that single positive covid saliva test.
Did another one the day after which was unclear, because there was a positive test line, but very light, thus barely visible.
Testing twice yesterday returned negative results both times  Cool
As of the nature of Antigen tests, i just might have caught one of the many other (common) corona viruses. These are said to deliver borderline results, which would match in my case. (EDIT: ...and all my kids got runny noses now, but all have tested negative to the antigen tests).

Good to be back again, didn't even check the bitcoin price within the last two or three days, so i was happy to see it at $35k+ today.
I'm doing hard to decide if i want to backread several days of WO or not  Huh
Anything important i might have missed?

Glad to hear you're OK and back on WO duty!

From what I know, Rapid (antigen) tests are dependent on viral load. That's why the instructions say that the result is negative only if there is absolutely no positive test line visible. If there is even a very faint positive test line, the result should be considered positive. I guess your viral load may be very low. I've done about 10 Rapid (antigen) tests so far, and the positive lines were all completely clear, even under bright light with a magnifying glass.

Have you had the vaccine yet? If you do have the virus, maybe there's no need to get vaccinated now, but some time after the virus has cleared away. But when the time comes, I suggest you get vaccinated. Don't believe the crazy conspiracy theories about Bill Gates installing chips and nanoparticles in your body to control you via 5G and magnets (yes, there are people that actually believe this shit).

Thanks, thanks  Grin
I use to rinse my mouth with List**ine, which cointains alcohol and reduces bacterial/viral load also in the throat area. That might have played a role there, too.

Are you aware that Sinovac's vaccine is based on exactly that-a sterilized virus? It appears least effective with most side effects according to some.
What's wrong with RNA? It's what our cells use to build our proteins. AFAIK, the RNA is modified to lower it's own antigenicity. Afraid of RNA-use Novovax or Sputnik then.
Novovax uses viral protein+adjuvant and Sputnik uses somewhat clever design with each shot (out of two) having two different vectors, therefore focusing immunity just on the spike protein.
both approaches (NOvovax and Sputnik) are highly effective and are not composed of RNA. I am sorry, but waiting for Godot does not appear to be the right strategy.
However, if you test for antibodies (not done at home test, but real lab test) and are positive, then you might have had it already and do not even need any vaccine currently 9depending on putative antibody levels).

Americans didn't get rich by goofing off.  They don't call it the "land of productivity" for nothing.
OK, so I have lived here my entire life and have Never heard US referred to as the "land of productivity."
"Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" Yes, but not productivity.
My cousin got a whole 7 days of maternity leave without pay when each of her kids were born - the law says you can have up to 12 weeks in one year and the company has to keep your position for you but they don't have to pay you.  The sad thing is, the law refers to pregnancy as a disability!  The time you take off is called "Pregnancy Disability Leave".  She had to pump breast milk early in the morning and on her lunch break so someone else could feed them while she worked during the day.  I couldn't believe when I first heard it.  Her husband took steady nights in order to have one of them with the baby at all times.  Talk about stress.
In Romania new mothers get up to 2 years at 75% of your 12 months average income to a maximum amount (there is a monetary incentive to take only one year in the form of an increased maximum amount plus a small monthly bonus for the first year back) with the first 42 days being mandatory to allow for parental bonding.  The father gets a month off too if desired.
My responsibility is to my total staff, my customers and my investors. None of them get any advantage from me willingly signing up to pay people to reproduce and not come to work.

if there is no reproduction, you (or your company) would not get customers, pal.
US system regarding paid leave for women is not optimal.
Same with legal $2.79/hr under-minimal wage for the restaurant workers.
Low base salaries is the cause of many problems here.

In addition, in US (at least in some states, including Texas) it is easy for an employer to essentially steal someone's wages.
Example: you are working part time and was supposed to work on a particular day during certain hours. You come and one hour later the boss tells you-we don't have enough customers today, why don't you go home. Obviously, they are not paying you a wage for the time that you were not there. It does not happen in all of US, only some states.
I was not in this situation, but some of my children were and it infuriated the heck out of me.
Same happens with part time workers at my place of work-they are not being paid for obligatory training hours and even days, for example.
One day there will be a class action lawsuit about this, I am sure.

yea, a gazillion chart buddies and attemps to interrupt those-it is basically 50-60% of WO content now.

Is there an american equivalent to the chinese "lie flat" phenomenon/movement?
It could become predominant if most jobs would become automated/AIed away.

Is it possible a way has been found to game the system by pushing the difficulty down and then switching all the equipment back on? I have to think that's a losing scenario but "doors and corners".

Are you pretending not to know what actually happened?
There is no gaming-just levers and I/O.

What? How is this how Cobra helping Bitcoin? Did he accept the defeat?
The court case was about Bitcoin Whitepapper not about the open source license software.

The judgement prevents Cobra from distributing the whitepaper, directly or indirectly. The whitepaper is in the blockchain, so the software can be used to download the whitepaper. Thus Cobra has to block the source code too.

that's a strange interpretation, imho.
the f-g whitepaper was PUBLISHED, end of story.
"the whitepaper is in the blockchain"- i fail to understand this statement considering that it was a scholarly article first and foremost.

Yes, common mental block, and good advice, it's never too late for Bitcoin.

I would say a bit worse than I did.

I feel less pain reading that.

I just a crab 1-10 coins

I could be more than 50 if I approached it differently years ago.

10 coins is more than 352 average humans taken together could ever hodl, so it is MUCH more than being 1% (in bitcoin terms)..js.

Some like "The Boys", some like "The Bureau", some like both  Grin.

#1-lots of action, but not much meaningful conversation, lol.
#2-a pretty good dialogue and suspense, no superhumans, though.

Never seen The Bureau, is it worth a watch?

Cop shows have a habit of pissing me off when I see them all treating people like shit so I generally don't watch them.

I did like The Shield and The Wire though. Smiley

A spy thriller with real life conflicts.
Some handicaps for US:
1. it is in French with English subtitles.
2. it is on AMC+, which is typically a la carte for cable, just $7/mo though (first four episodes were free in my cable package). Worth spending $7 for a "gazillion" episodes plus I like how French talk to each other (if the movie is true) + some cute female characters.

^^ This new fella has a mindrusting potential...in eventuality.
Although, to me, even M. Saylor has that potential as he bought his stash too fast and, essentially, or margin (at least in part).

... same sheeple buying Musk's doge shit at the top?

most here never admit to any selling...unless it is for a ranch or a lake (or next 4-5-6 years of income)  Grin

Someone who was here since 2011 has got to be a whale, maybe even a 'blue whale', unless they were into some "other" stuff early.
It figures.

You could be correct that there are a decent number of 2011-ish forum members who would be whales of some sort.. but gosh I hate to be assuming too much in that direction....

So, according to todays definition of whale, we might be able to 10x or 16x (which seems to be too presumptuous) our anticipations regarding where BTC might go each cycle, so  those of us who registered in 2014, would be considered having high likelihood of being whales in 2024, or it does not work like that?

We might need our little chart again, for reference sake.

Of course, over the years, the classifications of the fishes and amounts needed for each classification should be changing, no?  Do these categories still stand, or does someone want to tweak to make them more reflective of our current BTC price dynamics times?  In other words, is 1,000 BTC still required for entry-level whale status?

Still a crab oh well

That classification is bs anyway. I posted about this before.
There are 25K blue whales in the world and, according to the link below, you need to have "just" 89 btc to be in the top 25K owners:
https://medium.com/@BambouClub/are-you-in-the-bitcoin-1-a-new-model-of-the-distribution-of-bitcoin-wealth-6adb0d4a6a95

Total whale numbers the world-about 75K, so the btc number you need to hit to be comparable with a whale (in bitcoiner numbers) is somewhere between 15 and 89, probably around 50, give or take. Maybe numbers are different now, but if anything, the distribution could be flatter.
