Great to see the richlist.

Is there a way to see the network hashrate distribution?  Perhaps a pie chart with the top ten miners?

Bitcoin Account spying seems to be the new thing for 2015 !

Time to go DRK then
 Wink Grin Wink
very very good news for darkcoin Smiley

Is this coin really anonymous? I mined for a bit

Compared to BTC and other coins Darkcoin is extremely private.  I'd say almost totally anonymous (when using darksend).  However, code improvements continue as possible exploits are identified.  The coin is open source and just approaching it's first birthday so there is some way to go.  The dev team were working through the Christmas period to improve the speed at which anonymisation happens for example.  IMHO we are close to being anonymous but not quite being bullet proof.

Sound fair?

2015 will be a good year for Darkcoin Wink
the 2015 year for darkcoin is bright,
one of the most active thread here.

I echo those sentiments! Yeah, buddy!

I think I know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway.

Are we limited to only using the provided miners?  Is the software open source?

I'm having difficulty getting the miners to work on non standard farms.  Its a shame that ordinary X11 can't be used...it would stimulate adoption and distribution of the coin.
These miners are open source, links to their sources are in OP. The problems with non standard farms maybe related to the fact that there is a limit by default on how many miners you can connect to one wallet.

Its a shame that ordinary X11 can't be used.
Ordinary X11 would imply pools.

Thanks for your response.

I regularly point 500Mh to 1Ghs of X11 at Darkcoin...I'll take a look at the source and see if I can get it working on any of the rigs.

Dev,we need to strengten marketing and promotion.
The average mining cost in the past week is about 20K sato,if the net hashrate is not growing, the price will get stuck below 50K sato.

I suspect that once masternodes go live, all those issues will resolve themselves.
without sufficient net hashrate ,miners will keep dumping to earn the extra profit.

I hope that starts soon.  I'd love to pick up a load more SPR at these prices.

I want to buy 25BTC worth of SPR and it doesn't seem possible on the exchanges. They don't appear to be dumping there according to the volumes.  Maybe one of those miners who is dumping would like to send me a message!

I really don't understand why did he flushed his bitcoins down the toilet like that. Everything was going according to plan at 590k as people were already dumping constantly. It's not like DRK is going mainstream tomorrow lol

Maybe he has more BTC than sense Mum

2157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: December 26, 2014, 12:11:12 PM
Investors now have realized the potential of SPR,they begin to buy at the current market price. Grin

Very small volume buys though.  6BTC in 24Hr according to bittrex.

Mr Spread...whats your next improvement to the Darkcoin code going to be?

EDIT:  Just went back a few pages and saw your masternode plan.  Good stuff.  Might be worth talking to Evan about how the payments will work when reference nodes are removed.  Might save you some coding time.

I've had cancelled orders not returned to my balances with Cryptsy before and it normally resolves itself before I raise a support ticket.

I wouldn't be concerned.  I do believe that Cryptsy needs to have an internal review of the problems it has had over the last year.  Its way too unstable for my liking and they won't keep the volume forever if they continue to have problems like this.

If you follow these steps, you will win.

Looks like the betting industry is collapsing in 2015...this dude has cracked it!

I absolutely love Darkcoin and all the people that make up this community, but reading through all that's just happened to xxxgoodgirls and what stonehedge went through with the hack he suffered recently one would have to come to the conclusion that managing your locally stored Darkcoin is far from certain and assured. It's alarming to me that substantial amounts of value can be lost so easily and with such accompanying confusion that entraps even very experienced people.

Until the retention and securing of coins in wallets can be lifted up and out of this level of technical confusion and need for extreme (almost forensic) troubleshooting, Darkcoin is NOT going to be used by regular people. To read through pages and pages of someone battling to understand where their thousands of $ have gone and finally admitting defeat is terrible (so sorry for your loss xxx; l sure hope something gets resolved and you can retrieve your DRK somehow).

This really is an aspect of crypto that will prevent many people from getting involved (read: virtually everyone who is outside of these levels of technical ability which is 99.9%), We really need to spend a whole lot more time and effort on firming up wallet apps and infrastructure if Darkcoin is to be taken seriously as the potential to inexplicably lose all your DRK is very real.

Nah, there are several ways to avoid getting fucked.
I have been dumb, it is all of my fault.
Anyway 2FA will be a killer.

Agreed.  I screwed up.  My loss.  Suck it up and move on.

2FA is going to be amazing...
