2321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hypothetically keeping your bitcoin when you die? on: February 08, 2022, 01:52:29 PM
Hey, so what if you freeze yourself? And then there is technology to bring you back from the dead hundred years later.
Is there any good way to keep some bitcoin on you for this situation?
I plan on giving/inhriting most of my btc to and kids I might have in the future, but.... butttt.... what if I froze myself, kept some btc.
Is there any good idea how I keep my private keys with me? There is no gurantee I would remember a seed phrase in my head when I woke up. Might not remember much of anything. Idk no one knows.

but I'm pretty sure 100 years from now btc will be tens of millions if not more per coin, so even just 0.1btc would prob make you a millionaire.
If... lets say, you kept it in a steel container with instructions, any way to make sure the people freezing you dont just take it? Or if they dont, what if you wake up, and you dont realize what you have? Someone could easily take it from you then. Maybe I could put on on stainless steel, like a thin sheet, scratch the seed phrase in, then have it shoved in my arm or leg and stitch it up, then die, wake up. Maybe have some sort of instructions that would only make sense to me in the event i forget about it...

or..... maybe like... I put it in an awkward place in my arm or leg so it's guaranteed to give me some major issues and will need removed so it will remind me. like if i forget  my memories, I wake up, ouch my leg kinda hurts when i walk. go to doc, doc x rays and is like you got some random metal in your leg wtf lets remove it. on th metal, rolled up, it says "my name" or whatever to open only. no one else. then has instructions how to retrieve the btc?

Assuming I dont have great great grand kids who want to help their ancestor in some way who show up on my revival?

All of course assuming it is possible for humans to revive the dead in the future. idk. wouldnt it be funny, there is an afterlife, and you tell people there how you had bitcoin and if it is worth a bunch telling everyone how if you were alive you would be rich, then suddenly you get sucked out of the afterlife into your body? Maybe it takes 1000 years later, and 1 bitcoin is a trillion dollars lol. but then it would suck if you wake up and someone performs operation on you in the process of waking you up and sees and takes it? Man... too bad things cant just be literally etched into the brain so there can be no possibility of forgetting it or something.

Idk, anyone have any ideas?
do any post death trusts exist? Like go to a bank and be like hey, can I rent out the safe deposit box for the next 100 years?
THen its your luck it's 101 years when you revive and the bank threw out your seed phrase lol

I don't really see the point in doing this. Isn't this being so greedy? Because you can always enjoy the fruit of your labor and patience if not today, in the next few years with your loved ones. It seems futile to me finding a solution to an imaginary and impossible scenario. It would be better if you would spend your coins in your lifetime. Or if you choose not to, it's better to leave it to your loved ones such as your children like you've mentioned to be their inheritance. As for me, if ever bitcoin would really massively soar in the next 100 years, it would be worthless for me to live because after all not everything just revolves around money. Imagine the generation gap that you would be into. You would have a hard time adjusting as well as having a hard time enjoying those money when you don't have someone with you to cherish and celebrate it. You could even feel lost and empty despite having so much.

If I were you, instead of thinking nonsense, I would just put my energy into generating more profit so that I could enjoy it today or in the next years without the need to wait for hundreds of years just to celebrate. You can always enjoy your assets and funds with the right discipline and limitations so that there would be left for you to use in the coming years.
2322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investor Psychology on: February 08, 2022, 12:53:56 PM

People were willing to buy bitcoin at all time high prices and everyone was greedy. Now when bitcoin is half the ATH price, we see no buying pressure. It's strange that people are willing to get bitcoin at high prices but they don't buy it when bitcoin is available at fair cheap prices. This is strange bitcoin investor's psychology.

I can attest with this kind of scenario. I have seen so many times already different kinds of people whenever there's pump and dump happening and mostly, these people are just everywhere. Whenever bearish market enters and coins suddenly drop price position, people are fearful, they tend to sell right away. Meanwhile, when price position is low, most people still try to enter despite the price which doesn't totally makes sense. I believe this is mainly because of three main factors which are greed, loss of hope, and unchecked and lack of information.

Greed. Most people whenever they see high price value, they would want it too. I mean, who wouldn't want gains right? However, some people do it the wrong way. Instead of buying in low price position, they buy in high position. Most people are encouraged and enticed to take the risk because of the hype. And oftentimes, they were left behind in the upper position because most people, particularly the experts already took profit resulting to gradual change in value specifically decreasing manner. Some people are just too greedy to generate money and in the end, they end up losing instead of profiting.

Loss of hope. Some people are not really emotionally strong to risk whenever they see unpleasant scenarios such as seeing a downtrend in graph. They tend to be fearful and doubtful whenever dips happen. Some thinks that it may not be able to recover and they would just end up losing money if they would risk it. Which is also justifiable since not every dip is worth it to buy. But sometimes, you just really gotta take the leap of faith and trust in the coin as long as you know they have a nice whitepaper and projects in the future. I have heard so many confessions of regrets because they didn't buy in low position. Turns out, the coin they think will continuously dump suddenly skyrockets after several years. Just like what happened with bitcoin.

Unchecked and lack of information. This is one of the factors too and actually it plays a great role. This usually is the reason behind the greed and fear of investors and traders. Oftentimes, they are misinformed about something and didn't bother to have a fact-checking before delving into it. And sometimes, they just don't bother to search and equip themselves with knowledge.

Being so fearful won't get you nowhere the same way with being so greedy. So you must really know when to invest and when not to. And being so complacent to the point that you no longer check and feed yourself necessary knowledge about the things you do makes a conflict too. Let us always be a responsible investor. Let's do our part such as doing in depth research to avoid wrong timings and regrets.
2323  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it just me or people are out of liquidity ( money ) ? on: February 08, 2022, 12:17:42 PM
Is it just me or people are out of liquidity ( money ) ?

From what i see : market , malls etc no people,or if they buy something...they buy basic stuff... in my area ...slow biz ...same in your country ?

I think it depends on which country you currently belong. Do you live in well-developed, developing, or third world country? Because right now, businesses here in our country seems to bounce back already and the operations are slowly becoming closely similar to that rate prior the pandemic. But disregarding the economic status, one major factor that plays a role in this would be the social status of a person residing in that specific country. Since not everyone is well-off and privileged, some people can only buy what they need or what their money can buy to sustain their necessities in that moment.

If a person is living paycheck to paycheck and is struggling to even put food on their table, they would probably just pick and buy those things that they just need. They won't bother to spend a dime to luxurious things to only suffer and struggle more later on. But to those privileged ones, they could still manage to buy both the things they need and want because they have a spare. It would just up to them if they would indulge in buying unnecessary stuff with their money. Some still do that, while some opt not to and just prioritize their list of goals. So, perspective and goals are also one of those factors that dictate them to either go for it or hold back.
2324  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook ("Meta") down 25% in a day on: February 08, 2022, 11:46:01 AM
~
May I add a bit of information regarding this drop - it mostly boils down to two (huge) factors (that I'm aware of):

  • Apple recent privacy changes[1] - Facebook business model is all around advertising and sell you what you need / want. If they are no longer able to track you - which was something that Apple implemented by allowing their users to select if they want to be tracked or not[2];
  • For the first time ever, Facebook monthly active users remained flat and the daily active users decreased in the time period between Q3 and Q4[3]. Since Facebook wants to grow and attract new users whenever it can (again, to fuel their business model), investors saw this as perhaps a warning that Facebook may not grown as expected in the upcoming times.

I'm a bit skeptic regarding the recent project that Meta has entered - the so called metaverse - and how it will pay out in the future. They already spent $10 billion[4] on it and I'm unsure how they wider audience will embrace this kind of technology. I guess it remains to be seen...

PS: This drop in price is also considered the biggest wipeout in US corporate history - In one single day $240 billion[5] simply were erased from the company stock value...

[1]https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/03/technology/apple-privacy-changes-meta.html
[2]https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/26/technology/personaltech/apple-app-tracking-transparency.html
[3]https://techcrunch.com/2022/02/02/facebook-isnt-growing-anymore/
[4]https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/02/technology/meta-facebook-earnings-metaverse.html
[5]https://www.businessinsider.com/meta-q4-earnings-largest-ever-one-day-wipeout-190-billion-2022-2

So this could be one of the reasons why Facebook stocks has dump massively the past days. I just learned about the apple issue today, but I already foreseen the possibility that facebook would go downtrend because it is having a hard time staying relevant nowadays that there are already more social media platforms blooming as well as other means of entertainment for the youth and adults to enjoy. I really think it is one of the major reasons why Facebook's stock is declining aside from the usual dump they experience way back. Right now, a lot of competitive and enjoyable applications have been surfacing and most people really patronize it. The number of active users and new users aren't really going up because they are already diversified in other platforms that could keep them entertained and at the same time, updated. I bet Facebook have also predicted it is going to happen in the future which in this case is now. That is why they decided to rebrand the name to Metaverse and have so much plans about projects about it in the future at hand. This could be their way to stay relevant despite the competition and maybe to garner more users in different brackets. I also don't have any idea how Metaverse would work in the future but I hope it's good enough to sustain the economy of Facebook.
2325  Economy / Economics / Re: i was right people have no more money on: February 08, 2022, 11:03:17 AM
I don't really think people do not have money left right now just because of the videos. While it could be true to some people who are living paycheck to paycheck or just having side hustles that are just enough to sustain their needs, I believe people aren't in the same scenario all at once. It would be nice if your claims would he backed up by evidences such as survey involving large population with lower, middle, andd upper bracket of the society are all present. That way you could have a support to your claims and it would not just be pure assumptions based on an unacceptable proof such as youtube video.

I think people just learned their lesson to prioritize what they need the most instead of spending it over luxurious items that just want and isn't really a necessity. People are holding themselves back from buying and making unnecessary expenses that could cost their budget to be misaligned. Although there are still few people who can afford such, but the majority are doing their best to save and just buy what they need to survive the daily basis given the pandemic situation that we are still in. Those countries who are able to bounce back are considered to be lucky ones because they can now move at ease and without restrictions unlike in some countries that are still stuck in lockdowns and quarantines.
2326  Economy / Economics / Re: Phishing SMS claiming Binance. on: February 08, 2022, 10:29:35 AM
Because Binance is a famous and large platform, it is really eyed by the scammers and hackers. Most of them are just waiting for the perfect timing to attack and have a victim. This kind of trick which is done via SMS is actually an old-fashioned one that has been used years ago already and therefore, people should have known better. Unfortunately though, not everyone is aware about this and still falls victim in this kind of scheme. Mostly scammers lure their victims via phishing texts that offer nice set of package in exchange of something. Sometimes they lure their victims by texts that says they have to change password because it has been compromised and the changing of their passwords are mandatory. Some still fall for these traps and sadly, they won't be able to get their money or assets back because it is a human error.

As an account holder, it is our responsibility to be well-aware of all the possible ways we can be tricked when it comes to money. Because the company isn't really liable with the losses of such scamming and phishing that are not from the inside of their company (inside job tactics). Let's do our best to research first and think before clicking for the safety of our funds. Do not click suspicious email and texts. Disregard those if you know it to yourself that your account is secured and you don't have to suddenly change password. Let's not be gullible and let's protect our assets because no one else will.
2327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet365 and UFC extended their partnership on: February 05, 2022, 03:23:10 PM
Extended partnership means they are both giving benefits to each other, also this is a good sign because sports bettors will have a lot of options where to do sports betting in UFC. I love watching UFC but never tried betting on it, though my friends always bet on it saying that it's better rather than betting on an "online sabong" (cock fighting) here in the Philippines.

I agree, since it's easy to collect data using google for the fighter you want to bet rather than randomly betting on a roaster to win its fight.
2328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 05, 2022, 02:12:33 PM
Looking at the many answers again from the pool it seems that more than 50% want a good customer support that resolves complaints quickly. Didn't expect that number to be so high. It's not a bad thing, everybody wants that his complaints get addressed quicky and a quick access to ehe customer support team. I just thought that people find quick payouts and large bonuses more important. I know from experience that waiting days for an answer from the support team can be frustrating, but having a big support team on standby 24/7 is also expensive. The money saved for paying wages for the support staff could be handed out to the gamblers through new bonuses. I guess it's a tradeoff for the casinos owners between employees and bonuses and promotions.

Good customer support means a very good gambling site, in my opinion. We're talking about money here, especially those gamblers that deposit big amount of fiat worth of cryptocurrency, therefore if they experience some problems in a certain gambling sites, customer support is their only choice to ask some help regarding about the problem. Without good customer support while experiencing a big problem, for example is withdrawing your profit (a big amount), that would be a total anxiety attack that wouldn't let me sleep at night until resolved.

There's a lot of issues in some gambling sites that prevents their players once they are withdrawing their money, yet the customer support is not even helping them, I guess many of us got the trauma in that kind of scenario that's why we seek for a superb customer support.
2329  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: stake.com- Does not have gambling responsibility on: February 05, 2022, 01:38:00 PM
Actually it is very often asked to block someone's account. But it is in the reality pointless because who will be able to prevent users to make another one? Or to make drop account and continue playing? No one. That is why it seems really pointless to blame someone in this case. Best regards, 1win team.

OP is a irresponsible gambler or even a person asking for some sympathy because of his own mistake. The only person to be blame here is OP himself, because he can't control himself, even if he wasn't banned, if he don't want to deposit some money, he won't do it, but he does, because that's what he truly desired. Gambling addiction is a very tough opponent, you'll never get over with it unless you accepted that you need to be treated right away and you have gambling addiction.

To be able to solve a problem, you must admit that there's one.
2330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Snooker Game on: February 05, 2022, 12:15:59 PM
Never heard of it but I've searched it just now, interesting game I might say. Similar to pool but they are opposite, same 6 pockets, however, the pockets of snooker is smaller than pool. Snooker's table is larger while pool is smaller. It's 1 vs. 1 or a team sports, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe people are not interested on it since it's a traditional sports, only few enjoyed it (it's like chess) in my opinion because it takes time before you take your shot.
2331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Roobet & Rollbit on: February 05, 2022, 10:51:31 AM
I'm confused, you said it yourself already that you don't have any accusations or complaints about them, and I don't know what's the merit of knowing the answer to your question. All I know is both gambling sites are operating well and adapting a lot of progress since they were released in the market. Roobet was first released and Rollbit comes after.

My only opinion is that they won't run for too long if they are not providing good services, that's why until now people are enjoying both of their services.
2332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Evolution Thiefs but no help from stake support on: February 05, 2022, 09:46:00 AM
Hi people i play at stake almost 2 years with no problems sometimes big sometimes small
I play on provider of them on live blackjack on evolution game,my total balance was low 44$ so i do bet 22$ that if i want to double or take insurance i can
Now on the table near my name you see chips with 22$ but on total bet they charge me on 44$ the game start dealer got ace i got 20 i can't do insurance beacuse they charge me 44$ that's all the balnt i had dealer got blackjack, now its only 44$ but fuck i am right and i hate when player right and casino disrespect player, evolution they thief they say i bet on 44$ even i have screen shot that show 22$ but i reat disappointed from stake no help no nothing thanks god its 44$ but still i am  very upset on this situation, this the screen shot name joni
https://ibb.co/whRdYyy

Unfortunately these sort of extremely rare glitches can and do happen, it's just especially painful when you are playing with real money on a low budget. Unless you happened to have screen monitoring software that was recording what was happening at the time to prove that it was a glitch in the game, you are unlikely to get any support back from them. The best thing to do is just move on and avoid playing that particular game in future. If you complain and enough other people have a similar bug happening (not sure how many people are betting $22 at a time), then it's possible that they could refund you if a bug was later found in the game. Don't assume they are thieves but they are definitely responsible for their software having glitches and they should investigate thoroughly.

Exactly.

There's no point on continue playing in that site, continuing could mean much further losses in the future. Having no active customer service or the support doesn't even reply that fast means that they are poorly running gambling site, which is a sign that they could do a lot of unexpected things that players won't like. Even if it is a small money, if OP would continue to deposit to it, eventually he will lose more than what he can think of.
2333  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Company on: February 04, 2022, 03:01:20 PM
First off, get suspicious about them sending you an email even though you didn't send them one, but if you did, I'm sure that they are just scammers, or if not, I wouldn't even trust them with my money because I'll trade my money instead of them doing the work. Don't let others get your money just to do the work, because mostly of those people are schemers. Research about trading, teach yourself how to do it, and make profits by yourself, that's much realistic.
2334  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradig Course - Beginner on: February 04, 2022, 02:06:28 PM
Here's a couple of options[1][2] both paid and free. I haven't taken them but they look good based on the comments and reviews. You should also look into Binance's academy[3] they have some good articles.

[1] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQvw5JXXnrQ
[2] https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-cryptocurrency-trading-course/
[3] https://academy.binance.com/en/articles?page=1&tags=trading

I'll vouch for udemy account legitimacy and great teaching. All of my friends took a course there and they are doing good so far in trading, both stock and futures, but they mainly trade in futures because of its high risk high reward. There's a lot of video tutorials in YouTube, but only go for one channel to understand what you are really after. What I've like in trading courses is that they are giving videos of what they are teaching for those people who doesn't have good internet connection or those who are busy.
2335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Trading Bots on: February 04, 2022, 11:57:13 AM

We all know how volatile the crypto market is especially now. I have heard so much about crypto trading bots and their possibilities of automating the trading process and turning folks into crypto millionaires. For some of these bots, the user can program them to buy at predefined low and sell at a predefined high. I’m pretty skeptical about this maybe out of ignorance or just sheer human skepticism for stuff like this. Have you ever used a bot to automate your trading? Do you trust it enough to make the right decisions? If trading bots are as good as they claim, why are folks not using them as much as they should?

I've heard about it but never tried it, sounds like using a script to automate your trade but I highly doubt that it's gonna make people millionaires, sounds too good to be true for me. The answer on your questions are already given when you doubt it why you don't see it using by the majority, simply because it's not working. Trading needs to be hands on, because you need to monitor the market as much as possible, you'll need that for your technical analysis to make it profitable as much as possible if you could.
2336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The market is confusing on: February 04, 2022, 11:08:59 AM
If you're not sure what to believe, calm yourself and do nothing until you know what to do. If you're doing stock trading or futures, and you're just waiting for someone to clarify what situation we should expect in the market, then you should think twice before you act based on their analysis, because it's not gonna be always accurate.

The market is very tricky, so if I were you, I'd rather do my own analysis and decide what to do based on it therefore whatever happens, you're not gonna regret more since it is your decision that you follow.
2337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: February 03, 2022, 12:05:14 PM
Following one's advice is a good idea when they know more about it than you, but I do think we should remember that it might give them some sense of responsibility towards the same and at the same time gambling is a luck based game, sports gambling is certainly a green area and even online you can find the top picks and expert advice to gamble on certain players, certain sports. I do think you should try and make bets yourself. Pointing someone out would not necessarily be a good thing, I do think that you should just follow the general threads which are updated everyday as well.

I agree with this, mate. While I believe OP posted this with good intentions, it could do more harm than good in some ways. Having the list of names posted and labeling them as experts could be burdensome to them because people would have high expectations about them since they are "experts" and are good in that field. It could give them a sense of responsibility and obligation for those people who would follow their advice and predictions when they shouldn't because I guess they do that in a regular manner and with no weight to shoulder on, with no responsibility to anyone. Because after all, every gambling may it be in any form involves risk, luck, and chance which people differ from one another.

If someone would really want to win their bets, they should do in-depth research about what they are getting themselves into. They should possess good analyzation skills and they should always be on their guard in choosing and deciding because it involves money. I agree with your statement that someone could also browse some threads or even articles to keep them updated with the current happenings as well as to be informed of their next moves in the gambling industry.
2338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 03, 2022, 11:31:02 AM
Hey guys,

I have created this poll to see what your ideas are in this.
So what do you say, what are the most important features for you in an online crypto casino?

Please choose five, and if you think of something else I haven't covered, please let me know.

Thanks,
Karl
Bitcasino.io

Unfortunately, I can't vote for more than one point, so I have skipped voting. For me, below parameters are most important parameters for an online casino,

1. Payout speed
2. Responsiveness to complaints
3. Security
4. Customer service
5. Engagement with Bitcointalk community

An my most favorite one,

** No KYC for whatsoever reason!

I agree with this list of priorities. Although the arrangements are not really according to my preferences, these things are the things I am also looking for in an online crypto casino. The payout speed is of importance because there would be times that you will have an urgent situation. It would be best if a casino would have a fast process of withdrawal if not instantly so that the clients would be at ease with their funds. They could withdraw anytime, anywhere without a hassle. Responsiveness to complaints and customer service I guess are alike in purpose. This is important because in almost every platform and website, whether we like it or not, we will experience some concerns and maybe minor inconveniences that could be resolved by the customer representatives. The way they would handle the issues and complaints laid out by the clients is essential because that could identify how they are as a casino. If they are a type of casino that is only after the benefits, or if they are the type of casino that is also after the customer's welfare.

Engagement with the Bitcointalk community would be nice as well. Actually, just as I think about it, it makes sense that this is on the list. If the casinos would have a healthy and interactive engagement in the community, they could easily encourage users to know more about them and maybe try them out as well. They could garner potential players if they would engage in the forum's thread. Maybe post the things they offer and also attend to the needs of their current clients so that they won't be left in the dark. Interacting with the players here in the forum and addressing their concerns, issues, and questions could definitely help both sides. Clients being able to have good customer care and experience and the casino making their name be more trusted and reliable.

And of course, the ever-controversial KYC. Since not everyone preferred undergoing KYC, it would be a plus to those casinos who would not require it. The identity and personal information are needed to be secured which I understand why most people became off with the idea of having and undergoing it.

Stake is a reputable website and is really well-known. Despite that, I still see several posts regarding complaints, issues, and concerns that I believe are normal to encounter on every platform. It would just depend on how the website would resolve and address your concerns. The process, resolution time, and way for them to attend to the issues at hand are the differences. I suggest you provide all the evidence needed to support your claims. Every accusation has to be backed up with proof most especially that we are talking about a reputable site.

Did you already try to reach them out? If so, what is their response to your concern? If they did acknowledge the issue you are experiencing, write down as well their proposed resolution to it. Although if your complaint really goes against their terms and conditions, then you will have no match because it is your fault that you made the bet. Just check their ToS first and lookup if ever you made a violation or not. If there is none and you know it to yourself that the error is on their end, post a thread in the scams and accusations board together with all your collected evidence. Try to reach out to the provider as well to check if they could take action about it.

I use Flashscore some times whenever I'm away with my computer, I just checked it out and yes they have some good updates about their design and theme. I like the Flashscore since based on my experience they are more faster than the other sites and they cover a lot of games and I think I just get used to it and that's why I mostly used it for most of the time.

Indeed, flashscore has a great interface. I love their designs and style because it is easy to comprehend and the information isn't all over the place. The details you need are arranged in an organized manner. You won't really have a hard time finding the team you want to see the match details to because the countries are arranged in an alphabetical manner and under that, you could see the teams as well as the status of the game. The choice of fonts and colors is well-complemented. You can easily check the standing as well with just a click. Overall, it provides convenience and ease to the user. What I like about it as well is that the advertisement placement isn't stinging to the eye compared to other websites.
