241  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: November 30, 2023, 11:18:38 PM
Keeping funds on centralized exchanges comes with a big risk as you could lose it if anything goes wrong. CEX could be shutdown by the government, it could be hacked or it could go bankrupt. But these are not just the only issues to be worried of when dealing with centralized exchanges. Your data could be stolen and sold on the dark web. Morealso, the government could use the data to track and impose tax on their citizens. The safest way to store your funds is self custody.

There's nothing wrong using centralized exchanges, so long you know when to get out your funds.
Should take note that after you complete your trading, as much as possible, transfer your fund to your own wallet.
Sometimes we can't avoid using the CEX services especially if we want a trustworthy platform to convert our crypto to our fiat.
This is why we can't totally avoid using their services. As long as you know how to take care of your funds with them.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: November 30, 2023, 10:00:18 PM
However, you need to apply wisdom when taking such steps of selling a property to invest in bitcoin, make sure the property you are selling off you don't need it (a property you can afford to lose) because there is a risk in bitcoin investment the embedded risk of volatility shouldn't be neglected.
It should be the last thing to consider when thinking of how to raise money for investments. Even so, not all items should be sold, there are some thiings that should by any means be preserved. When you sell off items, you sell at a loss, and also create a vacuum if you cannot replace them. You will later spend the profit from your investment in replacing the sold item. If you sell your land to buy bitcoins, you will later want to buy a land when you profit from investing

I can understand selling unused items or gadgets, but properties and other real-estate properties, that's actually
hard for me to do in exchange of investing in crypto market. I would leave such asset as is and just find other disposable
ones if in case I will buy certain alts. As this market is still a very volatile one, you have no idea when will you can get profit out of your coins.
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 30, 2023, 08:06:06 PM
Best game to gamble on should be based on your desire and the kind of game you will like to play ordinarily and not just some random selection. If you have skills in a particular gametype, I suggest you focus in that area.

On the aspect of slot and other rolling games I think those ones are games, which just mostly depends on luck. As most times to predict the outcome is always difficult.

If you are a lover of sport like soccer, tennis, football, you will probably have some team you are always supporting and you can tell, which team play best most time, and you can use that means to determine the outcome of most games, which you can also use as your own gambling strategy.

I am guessing by now the OP already found his way to some of the casino games.
But should remind himself that before spending any funds to these casinos, better use only his spare funds.
Because he can easily get addicted to it and would be too late if he will follow his desires.
And he knows very well a particular sport, he would have better chance of winning on sportsbetting.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: November 30, 2023, 07:37:48 PM

The number of positive results that you mentioned here are not very helpful as there is a huge difference in the odds and how AI would respond to whatever data it pulls. If it was 3 in 10 predictions and it was 3 games with a favorite who had odds of 1.1, I doubt that AI is needed to make good predictions at all...

But something else that came to my mind is about the 30+ games. Does that make any sense? I like multibets as well sometimes, but I don't know whether I had ever more than 10 or so. How would it still be enjoyable if you have 20 correct outcomes and then still have at least 10 to go? And I wonder how often he got one of those 30+ multis correct. I can't know of course, but I doubt it.

I believe the answer here is already very obvious. 3 out of 10 in multi-bet? It means you are on the losing side.
So better trust your instincts and bet on the sports you really know and very familiar of.
What more with 30+games, the chance of winning is very small in this case. Maybe try single bet, maybe you have better chance.
Because if the winning percentage is low, it means, you don't want to trust AI with your multi-bet. You can easily go bankrupt in this route.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: November 29, 2023, 11:57:43 PM
~
But the odds shows that Garcia is the favorite, Duarte is a long shot, a huge 4:1 underdog in this fight. So I don't see this going into full 12 rounds, and it could end in a knockout win by Ryan Garcia. Even the over and under, it's listed at 8.5 rounds.
Ryan Garcia is the favorite but he is coming back to this fight against Oscar Duarte after an upset loss in the last fight and the import thing is that Ryan Garcia has changed his fight camp completely after the loss and now he is with the new trainer and he was complaining about his weight cut, so it is interesting to see how he returns after the loss with a new head coach.

This will be a good one to bet if you happen to believe on Duarte's boxing skills.
Your money can easily be multiplied if upset will happen on this match.
Also, we will see if there will be improvement on Garcia's side. Is he ready to face elite boxers?
Duarte on the other hand, has very good record as well. So Garcia's camp should have not taken this fight lightly.
Duarte is only 27 years old with 26-1-1 record. So not bad at all, he has the capacity to upset Garcia in my opinion.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: November 29, 2023, 11:41:43 PM
Investors and holders who don't know about burning mechanism, demand burning as if token their invested altcoin will skyrocket after that but the process isn't working thus way. But after announcing burning, people start investing that altcoin and so price get increased. It depends of that altcoin how they'll take manage to take advantage throughout this process. Although memecoin with huge supply, burning are different, it Doesn't impact but team create hype by themself based on burning news. Shiba buring doesn’t really Impact but after burned shiba inu from vitalik buterin, effected a lot on its price which is rarely happened
The burning mechanism can help a token to become strong and withstand bear if this seems to go wrong. Some many tokens that is built on Proof-Of-Stake need to be burn or else the worse might happened. There are many crypto projects that is been built on Proof-Of -Stake and the only thing we can do to help the projects is to keep staking it apart from buying and holding. This help the liquidity of the token to be strady and keep going bull if there is no mass selling or dumping.

It will only help if the token itself has some solid use case that can survive with the competition.
But if they will rely in the burning aspect of growing its use case, then I think, it will easily go down later on.
This is why most meme tokens have short lifespan because they have no reason to exist to begin with.
They are only relying from naive traders that will join their market and hoping that at some point they can cash out from it.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 11:11:51 PM
I have come to realize that gambling is remotely fun when you're not winning. You will have to get a lot of wins in order to get the thrill and the dopamine from it. That's why I think a lot of beginner gamblers win - it's for them to get lured and be caught off guard by the system to gamble more and win more. Once that's established, the gambler will then have the choice to decide if gambling is worth it or not. If they only play for entertainment, great. If not, then there will be a problem eventually, for sure.

Just like most games, gambling is indeed entertaining and with money involved, it is more thrilling.
To be addicted here is no surprise. Just compare it to how you can easily be addicted with some simple games.
There is no complex reason on this aspect. So even if we don't know such analogy it is quite easy to understand this behavior.
So there may be no perfect analogy explaining the behavior behind such addiction but in my opinion, it is not difficult to explain.
248  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin will accepted worldwide for legal then price rising $100k?? on: November 28, 2023, 11:47:51 PM
If btc is legally accepted in all countries then huge number of investors will increase. and the use of btc in various fields will increase.

what is your opinion about this?

What was Bitcoin's last ATH? Did it reach $69 000 in the market, right? Is it true these days that all countries have accepted Bitcoin? are not the only few countries that still recognize it. And most haven't, really.

What does that mean, if most countries are not completely ready to adopt Bitcoin, but its market ATH value has reached such a level, how much more if all countries have accepted Bitcoin, eh, probably quickly in 24 hours the price value of Bitcoin will suddenly reach more than 100k$?
I completely agree with you. Despite the fact that Bitcoin is not yet officially accepted in all countries, its price has risen to $69k. As I recall, Bitcoin reached such a high price in 2021 due of hype. How much more if Bitcoin is legally accepted in every part of the world? It is not likely to happen in the next few days, but I believe that the price of Bitcoin will hit $100,000 due to the halving next year. That is why it is advisable to accumulate Bitcoin now, while the price has not yet reached such levels, because it's highly possible that the price will never return to this current price if Bitcoin reaches those levels.

Reality check, we can't expect every country to just accept btc in their financial system.
But if large population will use it in their everyday payment method, definitely the price will shoot up.
However, we are still just speculating on this matter. We will know the possibility if we can actually see the progress in the market.
249  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: November 28, 2023, 09:23:45 PM
I think so op. Memecoins weren't in trend so much even before but nowadays bags of memecoins are launching daily. A few memecoins are good, listed on good exchange, very much in demand and rest of memecoin can be considered as trush. Just get launched and then scam. But people still keep investing on those memecoin cause each & every memecoin used to create hype by increasing their coins value, sometime 8-10x and that's the reason why people invest there & plan to sell their token with little profit but most of them fail to sell at all because team already withdrawal all lequidity from all exchanges while its time to vanish with people's investment and left them behind

People keep investing because of the idea that they will get easy profits from this type of project.
However, only few are worth looking at as most are just riding the hype and banking from naive users.
If you are long enough in this market, you can easily spot crap projects as they don't have anything to offer but just pure talk.
This is why hard to trust new alts specially meme projects as they will just screw your funds.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Web3 Platforms Connecting Users with Opportunities on: November 28, 2023, 08:22:19 PM
this forum in itself has a board for upcoming projects and airdrops however i agree that this sounds promising the project would probably have to pay a fee to get their project listed just like in exchange it is still important that the upcoming projects to be listed are trusted and has really good potential

The site having airdrops have been existing for quite long already. Haven't checked them for so long.
But just to give several sites that you can check -

https://www.coingecko.com/learn/new-crypto-airdrop-rewards
https://airdrops.io/
https://airdropalert.com/

The last site that I listed I knew has been existing for years. So you just need to know where to look at and you can easily see the list.
However, as already mentioned by others, most of them would just waste your time and resources.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Platforms Where You Get The Same Level Of Enjoyment Like You Do In Gambling on: November 27, 2023, 11:55:45 PM
Going out, doing something that you've never done before like nature tripping, hiking and any other activities that's going to make you tired all day long. But if I just want to take sometime and then get the same level of enjoyment, is anyone find taking a rest is enjoyable as in doing nothing and you're just all over the social media watching all of those shits that are posted there all day long? All day lying on the bed without doing anything at all. I find it sometimes enjoyable and it's the same level or even more than the fun that I can find with gambling. I just remember the famous song of Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song.  Tongue

I believe I will have the same activity as yours. Traveling and exploring areas that you've never been out of.
This for me will give enjoyment and relaxation of mind. Explore the nature and you will find out that you will be refreshed.
Should rest from all social media channels and as much as possible be off grid so you won't think of outside stresses.
Detoxifying from the use of social media I think is a very good chance of detaching yourself from others, hence, anxiety, depression and other negative emotions might go away.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 27, 2023, 11:28:34 PM
<snip>
I did know that such indicators exist. They are not entirely strange bit I would call them less common indicators. From off the top of my head, some other less likely indicators include -
- cellular call index- people may make less call during a recession to save money on cal bills
- brothel index- people are less likely to visit brothels and strip clubs during a recession.
- shortlet index -hotels and rental businesses are affected. Less travels and sleepovers.
- gambling/casino index- people gamble less or restrict their gambling activities during an economic downturn.

I think I will go on with your indexes here rather than in OP's indicators.  Grin
Anyway, we all have our own indicators if we are experiencing some economic downturn.
But one thing for sure is that we are more attentive with our expenses if we know we have limited resources.
Also, those indicators will depend on where you are in the world and your economic status as we have different needs.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: There is possibility of great reset and bail out by crypto holders on: November 27, 2023, 09:54:54 PM

To understand that this idea doesn’t work, just try to simulate what will happen next with NFTs/stables and how the country’s global economy will work - with external obligations of the state, with internal obligations, provision of social benefits, pensions, medicine, salaries of civil servants, and work in general economy...
Stables won't help either, because... they are also backed by fiat funds, which “suffer” from classic problems such as inflation. Stables are generally a tool for simplified interaction between the fiat world and crypto 1:1, without the influence of cryptocurrency volatility

In general, the topic “cryptocurrency will save the economy” is a beautiful fairy tale that has no real basis...

Just be glad that crypto market is helping a lot of people in this community.
That is true, crypto alone won't save the economy of the country.
For now, that is a good ambition. However, we need to be realistic with things.
As the population who are into crypto is still small, only those who are in this market can appreciate its importance.
However, most will stick to the traditional means of investment like real-estate, precious metals, gold.
254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why rush, instead of taking your time to learn about the forum ? on: November 27, 2023, 09:24:03 PM
It all depends on your orientation before to joining this forum, which I am sure determined your aim on this forum. In certain countries, the economic situation is quite poor, with no work for graduates and no money for upkeep, thus in quest of anything to do, some people stumble across this forum, possibly through someone or the internet. Usually, the intention is to learn bitcoin so that you do not get scammed, but when you see people making money from the forum through signature campaigns and other means, knowing that you are looking for a way to make money, you will want to join them, which is why you start looking for ways to rank up and get more exposure to start earning as others.

For newcomers who can't easily rank up as it is quite difficult now because of the merit system,
do remember that there are other ways to earn money aside from participating in sig campaigns.
If you have other skills such as programming, being a graphic artists and others (as you can see in services section),
you can also look for those opportunities and offer what you think you can do.
It may be hard from the start but as you build your portfolio, people will look for you and ask for your services.
Also, there is trading, staking or mining that you can venture but definitely, you need to learn also on how to do these things.
255  Economy / Gambling / Re: YoCa.sh Multichain Casino | No Deposits, Decentralized, No Kyc, Instant Payouts on: November 26, 2023, 10:56:25 AM
Now this is what you called a professional type of entry into the No.1 crypto and Bitcoin forum in the world. Welcome here mate. The ANN looks pretty good. The graphics are top notch and are equipped with almost all the necessary information. The casino’s name also looks pretty catchy and very unique at the same time. I can see that you have already announced that sportsbetting and PvP games coming very soon to the site. This will definitely attract more gamblers to the casino. Nevertheless will leave a detailed review after checking the casino thoroughly.
I really applaude Yoca.sh for their grand entrance into the bitcointalk forum. It is either the person behind the project is an old user of this forum or he was correctly gaurded by someone who could be jeoperry.
The have good Ann thread and the overall arrangement is nice .

It is also good to note that they have started a review campaign which will in no doubt help them improve the more.

But I have doubts about casinos own token - YCH  Grin I still dont understand why casinos have their own token. Why not focus on gambling only? Why spread resources on something else. Better be expert on one thing, than average everywhere.
Funny enough I have never seen any successful casino token, but casino owners keep diverting their attention to it.

A review campaign is always good as they will see what they need to improve on and of course, what strengths they have.
But as a non-kyc casino, wondering what sports they can integrate on this one as it is stated on their site as "soon".
Also, don't know if they have something to do with yobit, because whenever they launch something, there's "yo-" at the start of the name.
On the note of their token, I believe, a lot of gambling sites are trying their hands on creating their own token as potential income generating for them.
256  Economy / Gambling / Re: Reel Crypto - The Best Online Crypto Casino | Elevate your play! 🎰 on: November 26, 2023, 10:39:41 AM
Although it is only few days but looking at how OP started this thread, I dont see it as a good start. It is like there is no effort from the representative to represent their casino here in this forum professionally. Started with a low quality ANN thread and sudden inactive after the creation, I have to say they are not serious to be here to promote their casino. Giving them more few days is fair but I will not expect too much because they should be at least active in their early coming in this forum. The best thing to do for us is to avoid depositing in this kind of casino with inactive representative.

I don't want to be rude, but I don't see much that they can represent at this point. Only third-party games, mostly slots, just two promotions, a welcome bonus, and 10% cashback. And they count 10% cashback as a loyalty reward. I guess they need to check some other crypto casinos and their offers, after checking this casino I think they are far from an "unbeatable crypto gambling experience" and "elevating our gaming".

Simple and ordinary casino, and the same ANN thread, they need to improve both if they wish to come closer to  "the ultimate online crypto casino", for now, they are miles away.

They won't progress if they will not listen from users' opinions here especially the valid ones.
The claim is still too early, and it doesn't matter for now. Hopefully, the OP will get back here and see for himself what areas they need to improve on.
This industry will always have new players. However, how they can survive depends on how they will manage their site to attract and sustain players.
257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 26, 2023, 10:04:25 AM
I don't want to believe that it's possible but since we have some games that are skill based it's possible, if the gambler have their own gambling strategy they might be able to make income from gambling, might not be steady but gradual income like weekly is good enough, but still I believe that looking for such income through gambling is not safe, many people are losing money because they want gambling to provide for their needs.

Even if a strategy is working for you today it will change some day and stop working, remember that when you win too often the casino change the game, the short answer is that casino ain't ever going to be happy after your every win, they want you to lose it's the only way they will win.

If there is really a way that someone can make steady income from gambling I will like to know, the reason why I prefer to be careful with gambling is because of the chances of losing money is too high and this is why I am using a very small amount of money, I don't want to risk the amount that will set me up for greatness if I invest the money instead of using it to gamble..

You are free to go the route that suits you, only make sure that you are a responsible gambler.

I think one type of gambler who can make a living out of his games is poker player.
A lot of poker players especially those professional ones are surviving owed to their tournaments.
But this game needs a lot of years of experience and practice to hone your skills and acquire tips and tricks.
And once you mastered this game, you can really survive just by playing poker game.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 26, 2023, 09:26:27 AM
You are very correct on this. Personally, gambling help me handle depression because I have seen it all through gambling so nothing can depress me again when it has to do with money. There is practically no amount of money I will lose today in any investment that I have not lost in gambling and being able to survive times of huge loses strengthened me so much that I don't feel pain again over loses.

Through gambling too, I have been able to develop the courage to take smart risk in making other investment. I no longer allow the fear of losing money stop me from making investment all thanks to gambling that emboldened me.

With your words, I don’t think gambling has helped you handle anything. On the contrary, gambling was seemingly the cause of your depression then. You said it yourself,
“There is practically no amount of money I will lose today in any investment that I have not lost in gambling”.

Lots of people get depressed due to financial problems and this seemed to be your problem then. A problem that was cussed perhaps by excessive gambling. Something helped you come out of your depression and It doesn’t seem to be more gambling.

Whatever it was that helped him get out of depression, that's actually great as he surpassed one trial of his life.
But I do agree that if you are gambling with spare money and not thinking about losing it, it can be a stress-reliever.
Especially if you are betting occasionally and not very often. Like if you only bet when your favorite athlete is playing or your team is on the field.
If you won't get yourself too deep in this game, you will find out that you will enjoy your games without too much pressure.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Closing Central Bank is Non-negotiable says pro-bitcoin Argentina Pres Milei on: November 26, 2023, 08:32:01 AM
You can't rule anything out with this guy as a president, but I don't see him making bitcoin legal tender. More precisely, if he goes down that road, I don't see him making bitcoin the only legal tender. Argentina will probably use one of the world's reserve currencies for the time being and perhaps bitcoin will become a secondary asset adopted alongside. I have never been of the opinion that you should force people to use BTC. Making it the only legal tender does exactly that. It forces you to use it. It should be an option you switch to if you want and if you see value in it. That's the natural way to foster adoption.

I believe they will be using USD as their main currency for now. I don't think they will go for btc as their main.
But even if btc will be secondary in their options, I think, it will already add to adoption in their country.
We will see in the coming days how they will work around with their financial institutions and implement protocols towards the crypto market.
As of now, they are not banning nor making btc as legal tender, they are just open to this currency.
260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: November 25, 2023, 11:54:27 PM
I am consistently reassessing and reevaluating my investment strategy as the halving could have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins. The halving could also lead to a surge in interest in altcoins. As such, I am on the lookout for alternative investment opportunities. And, of course, dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is a consistent investment I make. That's my plan, at least. What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
A few weeks ago I planned to only go for BTC but after watching the potential of ALTs I am convinced by them and now I plan to invest in ALTs too but there are a number of ALTs in the market and it is very hard for me to chose any of them. So, I am approaching different channels, groups, and YT channels to gain more knowledge about ALTs, and even start learning to trade. Which I had not learnt before while investing in BTC because at that time I knew investing in BT for the long term does not need a high level of knowledge about TA and FA.

So, I simply followed the FA I made due to my presence on the internet and started investing in it. But now for trading in ALTs, I have to do TA also, I realize you were not talking about trading in ALTs instead you were talking about holding in ALTs.

But till now from what I have learned never hold ALTs, always set your targets and when you achieve your target exit the market with the capital you have invested you might book some profit too but exiting from the market will save your investment money and make you risk-free.

If you are exploring your opportunities with alts, better look at top 20 at least. Then, weigh your options on this market.
Because as you learn more about alts, and their strong points, you will understand their potential in the upcoming months.
And do remember, knowledge in TAs are great but most of the time, it won't have influence in the market performance of alts.
