2601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 17, 2022, 02:03:29 PM
For me, Croatia is a clear favorite in this match, their defense is no worse than that of Morocco, but they have a much stronger middle line and I think this can play a decisive role. Well, Croatia's attack is also better, and if it comes to penalties, then Croatia will be stronger there as well. Croatia took second place in 2018, and this speaks of their stable game and discipline, so they probably have more chances to win.
I don't think that you watched many Croatian or Morocco games this tournament because if you did, you wouldn't say that Croatia is a clear favorite (and that's coming from Croatian btw). While its true that we have better midfield, I wouldn't say so about the attack. Their advantage is probably the fact that if they win this game, it will be by far the biggest success of any African teams so they will be extremely eager to win, while Croatian advantage is mainly experience, which can be very important in these type of high stake games, as both teams will want that 3rd spot.

You know that Morocco players have given everything out, and probably they are already happy with what they did.
I am 100% sure that Morocco players will really want to get the 3rd spot and won't satisfy with semifinal, the same way Croatia wanted it back in 1998 when they beat Netherlands (which imho was the best team that year and should have won WC) for the bronze medal. Hell, we really want it now as well.

Cheesy

Because you are still Newbie rank and to share images you need to be at least Jr Member. In this topic you can find what are actual requirements for each rank (for Jr Member you need 3 more activity and 1 merit).
2604  Other / Meta / Re: Gambling Signature Trap Trolls on: December 17, 2022, 07:52:05 AM
The problem could be easily solved if I only post ONCE in every gambling discussion topic. But that seems so very boring. How are you supposed to have a decent gambling discussion if you need to be nervous that 2-3 (or more) of your posts can be deleted just because you posted them in the same topic? And I only post in quality topics, not randomly.
If you are only posting in quality topics started by members who have good reputation in gambling board, how exactly are you having issues with deleted topics by trolls?

Anyway, I don't think that is necessary to introduce solution that you suggested just so members who are barely filling their signature quotas have time to write few more (shit)posts in order to meet their signature quotas and get paid. Being careful where you write and always make few posts extra should do the trick. And if those who are not selective where they write occasionally don't get paid, so be it.
2605  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance’s “auditor” Mazars,nuked the website with Binance’s proof of liabilities on: December 16, 2022, 10:02:20 PM
Based on the news it's temporarily paused not gone so it would come back soon so how this will impact the market?
Dunno, since they removed everything related to those exchanges from their website, it doesn't look to me like those audits will come any time soon. Imho they stopped it for good (or at least for longer period of time) but "pausing" sounds better.

Meanwhile, has Mazari issued a statement pointing out the reason they halted the auditing?
Yep, here are few bits of the statement.

Quote from:
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/16/mazars-suspends-all-work-with-crypto-clients-including-binance-cryptocom.htmlMazars Group said in a statement to CNBC that it had “paused its activity relating to the provision of Proof of Reserves Reports for entities in the cryptocurrency sector due to concerns regarding the way these reports are understood by the public.”

The statement added Mazars’ proof of reserves reports are “performed in accordance with Reporting Standards relevant to an Agreed Upon Procedures report.”

“They do not constitute either an assurance or an audit opinion on subject matter. Instead they report limited findings based on the agreed procedures performed on the subject matter at a historical point in time,” the statement continued]paused its activity relating to the provision of Proof of Reserves Reports for entities in the cryptocurrency sector due to concerns regarding the way these reports are understood by the public
2606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First nuclear fusion ignition achieved electricity price will plummet on: December 16, 2022, 04:50:02 PM

Sure it will take some time to go from lab experiment to first commercial nuclear fusion reactor, but its a milestone that is definitely changing the world as we know it.
I don't wanna be a partypooper, but I think that "take some time" is an understatement here. From what I read on the topic, this device (NIF) is not really efficient as lasers actually used 322 mega joules to deliver 2.05 mega joules of energy, which then through reaction produced 3.1 mega joules of energy. It is important achievement nevertheless , but I don't expect this to be actually used for at least couple of decades.

Anyway, who wants to read more on the subject, here is a good article that explains everything https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-04440-7

It can only be good if it's shared with every country if it's just for the US then nothing stops OPEC countries from using fossil fuels.

Heads up! They even bought a legendary account to promote their service, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5426428.0
Since account hasn't changed email and/or password lately, I think its more likely that they just hired that Legendary account to publish their ANN, thinking it will somehow make them more legit. Anyway, regardless ofof why account is promoting this scam exchange, I've tagged it and raised Flag Type 1  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3067
2608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is that guy still rummaging the dump? on: December 16, 2022, 02:19:01 PM
Probably he stopped already. Maybe he realize this when its too late already but if ever he find it he is probably gonna take a millions worth of money.
Nope he didn't stop and the last news from few months ago was that he  is still trying to find ways to persuade his local council to excavate the fill and try to find the lost hard drive. I do hope for his sake to finally forget about it and move on with his life.

As described earlier, James Howells bought bitcoin for next to nothing and kept his hard drive on his desk. After spilling liquid on the desk, he decided the hard drive was defective and threw it away while cleaning.
Didn't he mine those 7500 bitcoin instead of buying it?

He probably could have made most of it back working a part time job and buying crypto all these years instead of digging in the dump.
Since all that happened back in 2013 I don't think that he could easily buy back majority of bitcoin, at least not on his salary.

2609  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance's proof of reserves raises red flags: Report on: December 16, 2022, 01:55:33 PM
It was in CZ's AMA that he claimed that "for 99% of people today, asking them to hold crypto on their own, they will end up losing it."[1] This is obviously an exaggeration to stress a point, but I don't know if this is valid enough to make Binance relevant. If I'm actually incapable of being my own bank, is a centralized exchange a better option? I don't think so. I guess that's a bit worse than myself. I'd rather just keep my hardware wallet and my seed phrase in a bank's safe.
Lol what a clown and what a difference between CZ and Paxful exchange CEO Ray Youssef who decided to send email to their users on the weekly basis, suggesting people not to store their crypto in any exchange, including their own.

In other news, Mazars decided to stop with all crypto exchanges proof of reserve audits.

Accounting firm Mazars is temporarily ceasing all work for its crypto exchange clients, including proof-of-reserves reports for the likes of Binance, KuCoin and Crypto.com.

A spokesperson for Mazars' client Binance confirmed the news in a statement, adding that, “unfortunately, this means that we will not be able to work with Mazars for the moment.” Mazars did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
2610  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kevin O'Leary says that Binance put FTX out of business on: December 16, 2022, 01:40:52 PM
Do you agree with him ? I feel this can cause legal issues for him for lying in front of senate.
You might wanna watch that video in the tweet you shared once again. That senator asked him to give his opinion on why FTX failed, and he gave one. While his opinion is pure bullshit, it is just an opinion after all so I don't see him getting into any legal issues. Well, at least not for that (who knows, maybe he is involved in FTX downfall in some other way so that's why he puts blame on Binance).

Perhaps, the creator of that bot should tweak it a bit to exclude ignored users.
I don't know how you missed that, but there is already an option in @BTTSuperNotifier_bot to add users on ignore list, so you don't get those notifications.

2612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 15, 2022, 05:50:13 PM
No body honestly cares about this match. Both teams are fighting only for third place and not for the title. The only good thing is that it is played a day before the final so people will watch the match. Both teams will play just to finish this tournament and go home Morocco can be satisfied with how far they came
While not many people outside Croatia and Morocco cares much about this match, I don't think that either team will take it lightly and just play to finish the tournament and go home. It may not seem to you, but there is a big difference between being 3rd or 4th. I remember when Croatia won 3rd place back in 1998 and how proud our players (and people) were of that accomplishment, and I doubt that it would be the same if we were 4th. After all, you get a medal for it. I have no doubt that both teams (and especially Morocco that never came even remotely close) will give their best in order to win, even though both teams overacheived and could be happy with semifinal.

I expect an even and tough game but based on performance so far, I think that Morocco has the slight advantage. Then again, in that first game during group stage they didn't really do much against us, so I hope it will be the same this time and that we win this game on experience.
2613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBF, arrested! on: December 15, 2022, 04:43:13 PM
Are you are trying to say that SBF is not responsible for all that FTX drama and his "I dont know", "I wasnt aware of that" is true in multiple interviews? It is really hard to believe FTX founder was so irresponsible and did not know what his "child" is doing with all that money.
You probably misunderstood him. He didn't mean that he doesn't believe that SBF is guilty until the verdict, but instead that he doesn't believe this arrest is real and that all this has done for public sake, to appear that they are doing something. I don't think that all this is just show for public, but I also don't think that he will get  a long sentence either.

2614  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance asking for KYC, again on: December 15, 2022, 04:32:19 PM
On the other hand, I regret verifying on Binance again, not because of my details (they already had those; nothing had changed), but because by using CEX, there's a small chance that cryptocurrency is tracked to you and you may get taxed for it out of the blue.
While chances to get taxed if you are from countries like Croatia (me) and Greece (you) is low due obvious reasons (inefficiency), I expect that to change in a couple of years max and then we may start getting envelopes from tax office. And if you regret verifying it again and worried about getting taxed, just stop using it all together and that's it, not much harm done with this 2nd verification.

2615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bear market - previous experience / advice? on: December 15, 2022, 04:02:19 PM
I am expecting most of 2023 to be the same and I plan on sticking with my dollar cost averaging but must admit there have been days recently where I have panicked slightly asking myself If I am doing the right thing investing in crypto. I think this is down to constantly seeing the market fall and feeling like it is going to take a lot for it to reverse and see better days again.
Occasional panic and questioning yourself whether you are doing the right thing is perfectly normal when you are experiencing bear market for the first time. I went through exactly the same thing duirng my first bear market and everyone else I know. Its completely normal to think that bitcoin may never reach previous prices, and the more people feels that way, closer we are to the bottom.

Like you, I am also doing DCA (unlike you I wasn't waiting for price drops and instead I was buying at regular intervals no matter the price) during previous bear market and what I can tell you what helped me, and that is to remove all price tracking apps that you have and to stop visiting Coingecko/CMC and to stop looking at prices in general. Once you stop obsessing yourself with the current price, you will find it much easier to focus on your goal, and that is to get as much bitcoin as you can.
2616  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone posted here about our Project then sabotage us to give him money on: December 15, 2022, 03:48:17 PM
I have a question though- what could be the appropriate sanctions for a person intentionally spreading libelous and unfounded claims against a project? Clearly, there has some sort of damage that OP incurred due to the spread of malicious words/statements that affected the general feedback of his project.
If he did spread false accusations on this forum and did direct blackmail, he would probably  up with negative feedback. But since he did it on the external sites (and its not easy to be 100% sure he is behind it), neutral is just fine, and that's exactly what he received from a couple of members (Including me).

Don't conclude your judge on the experience you had with a member, you could have been in thw same shoe if you're a newbie or legendary rank doesn't mean youve got everything it takes with good reputation, and i say it again that you should report him provided that you have life evidence to proof your claim to ascertain it with reference pointing to the whole scenario, if not your tag on such member may be invalid without a reference.
Maybe I am wrong, but I think that OP meant crypto space in general and not this forum specifically. He is right though, this space is extremely toxic.

2617  Economy / Exchanges / Re: STOP THE EXCHANGE FUD; Everyone will suffer the effect. on: December 15, 2022, 07:29:42 AM
Binance is without a doubt the largest crypto exchange and must be protected at all costs,
Rather than worry about protecting Binance, better worry about protecting your own funds by removing it from exchanges,

Loss of trust in the cryptocurrency market: FUD can also create a general sense of distrust and skepticism among investors, which can make them less willing to invest in any cryptocurrency. This can lead to a decline in the overall value of the cryptocurrency market.
An average crypto investor is too easy on trust and not skeptical enough, so I would say that would be a positive thing for crypto market.

Not at all. If anything we should do something that Binance is no longer the "largest" crypto exchange. Go back to 2013 and see what MtGox being the largest bitcoin exchange did to bitcoin price. Binance is to altcoins as MtGox used to be to bitcoin. Back then MtGox controlled >85% of the volume and single-handedly screwed up the market, today no bitcoin exchange controls a volume bigger than 10%. But when it comes to altcoin exchanges like Binance they suddenly control a huge percentage of altcoin volumes and it has to change.
While its true that MtGox controlled way more bitcoin trading volume than Binance percentage wise, fall of Binance (who according to Coingecko controls ~27% bitcoin trading volume) would seriously affect bitcoin price as well, at least in short-mid term. That of course doesn't mean Binance should be "protected at all cost" and similar nonsense, but it is reality as they are that big.

That clown Kevin O'Leary keeps defending SBF. During today's hearing, one of the senators asked him "why do you believe FTX failed?" to which he replied that its Binance fault. Poor SBF, the fact that he mismanaged billions of dollars had nothing to do with collapse, its someone else's fault.
2619  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak on: December 14, 2022, 04:34:12 PM

EDIT:
Još jedna ok serija sa Neflix-a, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
To korejska verzija one spanjolske serije?

2620  Economy / Exchanges / Gemini allegedly hacked, 5.7 million emails leaked on: December 14, 2022, 03:54:20 PM
As the title said, (allegedly) yet another exchange got hacked, this time "only" emails and partial phone numbers got leaked. All those having accounts there, get ready for phishing emails.

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini appears to have suffered a data breach on or before Dec. 13. According to documents obtained by Cointelegraph, hackers gained access to 5,701,649 lines of information pertaining to customers’ account numbers, email addresses and partial phone numbers. In the case of the latter, hackers apparently did not gain access to the full phone numbers, as certain numeric digits were obfuscated.

The leaked database did not include sensitive personal information such as names, addresses and other Know Your Customer information. In addition, some emails were repeated in the document; thus, the number of customers affected is likely lower than the total rows of information.
