1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is a custodial wallet to a hardware wallet on: April 08, 2023, 08:51:04 AM
Still hardware wallets are a good invention since they make it more easy to store your bitcoins.
Point of owning a hardware wallets is not to make it more easy to store bitcoins (after all software wallets are more convenient for everyday use) but rather to make your bitcoin more secure. Advantage of hardware wallets is that private keys never leave the device so even if you download malware on your PC, attacker still won't be able to steal your bitcoins while same can't be said about software wallets.
1702  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: April 07, 2023, 08:11:53 AM
What will it take for people to wake up and just withdraw their coins to their own wallet?
Logical answer would be "they will definitely learn their lesson once they lose their money on one of those platforms" but then again I know some people that have money stuck on both Celsius and FTX and still hold considerable amount of crypto on Binance.
1703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOINS ACCELERATOR COST $$$ on: April 07, 2023, 06:23:53 AM
Exodus isn't even a cold storage, it's a web wallet although you can use it to connect Trezor, this case Trezor is the cold storage, not the Exodus wallet.
While I agree that Exodus shouldn't be used for cold storage, are you sure that its a web wallet? I have never used it, but my understanding is that its a non-custodial wallet (albeit crappy one imho) and not the web wallet where you don't have access to your keys like for example blockchain.com.
1704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BITCOINS ACCELERATOR COST $$$ on: April 07, 2023, 05:22:01 AM
Since your post doesn't make much sense, I have a few questions for you:

1. First you say that you have $125k stuck but then you go on about putting $75k of your own money. Care to explain where exactly you put that money?
2. Who is asking you to pay $15k? Share some links pls.

This is just my guess based on your confusing post, but it looks like you are being scammed by one of those sites that ask you to send money in order to be able to withdraw.

Well goodluck to both of us mate @Rikaflip
Same to you bud. Btw, my username is Rikafip Wink

I've checked that we only have 2 questions with different answers aside from the tiebreaker questions.
Well there's only 5 questions (not counting tiebraker) so no surprise that we don't have many different answers.

I'll give you some hints about me, Im one of the worst player in division 1 sitting at 2nd bottom spot right now so its fairly easy to beat me  Smiley
Don't sell yourself short, you have no idea who are you playing against as my track record so far hasn't been great either. This is going to be clash of the titans.  Grin

1706  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: April 06, 2023, 09:14:17 PM
After firing over half the staff and destroying the ability for Twitter to operate
I am using it on the daily basis and I haven't noticed that Twitter stopped operating since they fired big portoion of their stuff meaning they probably had bunch of people not doing much anyway.

Now he's just trying to combine these checkmarks on his way to insanity trying to manipulate markets and pump a s**tcoin by associating it with the company he decided to buy and destroy.
You really think that someone who has ~$200 billion cares sbout few millions of dollars that he can make by pump & schemes? He is not doing it for the money, he is simply doing it for the lolz. Don't get me wrong, I am not fun of Musk at all but I think that people  are giving him way more attention that he deserves, and that's exactly why he is doing all this crap.

In other news, Doge logo has been removed from Twitter and naturally price went down instantly.  Cheesy

I still think that even the full tree is correct.
Hm from what I understand, that tree of yours can in the best case scenario be correct only for the 2nd round because after that it will be again random draw.

Does anyone know confirmed Cup Round 2 scheduling?
Nothing yet, waiting for Trofo to publish the official draw.
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: April 06, 2023, 09:40:47 AM
After examining the post I created a tournament tree. This tournament tree isn't official and it can be full of mistakes. I don't accept any responsibility.  Cheesy
Kudos for the effort, even if it isn't correct.  Wink

Well I can guarantee it is not correct  Grin The page I used to create brackets actually does random draws for each round. Meaning you can't show it in that way. After we have winners in round 2, they are again randomly drawn. That is why you have all the rounds written in my initial post. Check round 3 matchups and you will see what I am talking about.
Is at least Round 2 draw correct as I was trying to figure out who I am playing against in the next round and according to @CLS63 it should be against arralmuus?
1709  Other / Meta / Re: Messages for deleted posts - from 4 years ago? on: April 06, 2023, 09:29:54 AM
I've recently received several emails about deleted posts -  only I haven't posted here in years.
Were those posts maybe written in one of the ANN threads? I am asking because we have a couple of members (and afaik one mod) that are regularly clearing altcoins section from thread bumping shitposts written years ago when this thing was popular, so your posts might got caught in their reproting spree.
1710  Economy / Exchanges / Re: many CEXs faces strongest regulatory pressure, will you use CEXs/CEXs/TEXs? on: April 06, 2023, 09:24:09 AM
Decentralized exchanges had a large jump in cryptocurrency trading volume in March as U.S. regulators went after their centralized counterparts including Kraken, Coinbase and Binance.
Volume on DEXs reached $133.1 billion, the third consecutive monthly increase and the highest monthly total since May, according to DefiLlama data
Problem with majorify of those "decentralized exchanges" is that they are not really decentralized. Good example of that is Pancakeswap that is based on highly centrazlied BSC so how decentrazlied it can be in the end? In the same time, truly decentralized Bisq has only ~$100k daily volume so it makes it very costly to buy/sell any bigger amount of bitcoin.

That’s led some to speculate crypto traders will shift to DEXs, and the DefiLlama data suggests that could be happening.
I don't see that happening in foreseeable future as people prefer convenience and sense of (false) security over everything else.

I am using centralized exchanges from time to time but I am not keeping anythin there for more than a couple of days, fully knowing that every time I send my money there it might be the last time I see it.
1711  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] whirlwind.money | Redefining Mixing | Signature Campaign ~Up to $150/week on: April 05, 2023, 08:54:36 PM
@Hhampuz

I don't know if anyone else noticed or reported it, but Sr Member and Hero/Lege signatures are kinda messed up and missing some parts on mobile browsers. I checked Mozilla, Brave, Chrome, Opera and Safari and all are more or less screwed up. Anyway, thought that you maybe want to look into it.

This below is from Mozilla. Chrome, Opera and Brave look pretty much the same.

This is from Safari and as you can see, Sr Member looks even more messed up than on the other browsers.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: April 05, 2023, 03:32:06 PM
Well, my luck will surely turn around at some point. I'll just ride the wave until it stops Grin
That's my plan too, but let's see if your luck is stronger than my jinx.  Grin

Really surprising to see that nobody chose a draw between Juventus and Inter.
Meh, the last thing I did before submiting my responses was to change it from draw to Juventus. My gut feeling was saying "draw" and I answered accordingly but then I decided to take another look at their form and changed the answer. Lesson learned, sometimes you just have to trust your gut.
1713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some scams that can be avoided that people failed to check!!! on: April 05, 2023, 03:19:35 PM
As for application even google play added goggle play protect and scammers still find their way to get fake apps into the goggle store but one could use some common tips to minimize downloading them. Firstly is to check the logo/avatar of the app once they are duplicated or many then one is the only genuine one. The next step is to go through the number of downloads and reviews although this also can be manipulated. One also can check the app developer to check which of these apps is actually the right one. Things like checking through the app grammatical errors could also help in dictating a fake app
You forgot to mention by far the best practice to avoid downloading fake apps and it is to avoid Google Play completely and instead download apps directly from developer's website. I know that its more convenient to use Google Play, but losing your concentration for a second might make you download the fake app so why even take that chance.

You know what sometimes surprises me?
It's seeing some people, who are educated and even work in the IT area, falling into some basic theft schemes.

I once saw a person who worked in a computer company, saying how he was deceived in a very basic method on a personal level. If I were that person's boss, I would have fired them on the spot.
Don't be so judgemental as it can happen to anyone, even to the most experienced people as all it takes is one moment of losing your concentration and money is gone. I know a guy who is in crypto profesionally for 7+ years, yet he managed to lose $100k by connecting Metamask to some scammy website just because he wanted to do something quick before going out. Even better example is the well known Bitcoin developer Luke Dashjr who recently got hacked and lost 200+ BTC and guy knows more about security than 99.99% of us here.
1714  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: April 05, 2023, 10:04:28 AM
BestChange, (ako se ne varam) druga najduza trenutno aktivna kampanja na forumu ima jedno slobodno mjesto za Sr/Hero/Lege.

On a different note, we are informing you that we now have one vacant slot for Senior+ participants. Please apply in reply!

U ostalim vijestima, nastavlja se borba za najbolje placenu kampanju na forumu jer je Royse povecao isplate za Sinbad te se tako moze zaraditi do $150 tjedno sto ju izjednacuje sa whirlwindom.

We want to receive the BEST VALUE from this campaign hence we introduced the GREEN ZONE concept. If you are a BEST VALUE poster then you are member of the prestigious GREEN ZONE.
1715  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: April 05, 2023, 08:49:25 AM
He was in bitcoin before 2015 and he was also one of the first Ethereum investors  I reckon it was his investment in Ethereum that made him a millionaire
I checked him out a little bit and it looks like he has a podcast called UpOnly. I noticed something interesting on his older videos and that's FTX banner so maybe he is butthurt about FTX going down and he blames CZ for that. Cheesy

His predictions before are more based from an understanding on what occured in the past and guessing if it will happen again.
Well, what he shared wasn't really prediction but rather a statement ("Interpol Red Notice for CZ") so unless it happens very soon it means that he was just bullshitting. Unfortunately, no rumour or FUD will make majority of people moving their money out of Binance.
1716  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: April 05, 2023, 08:23:28 AM
Update: FTX continues to have the plan to refund investors, FTX sent an email informing that it is seeking to refund many investors in Vietnam. However, the email also notes that this email is a confirmation for investors, and the payment schedule will be decided by the court.
There has not been too much information about FTX refunding investors in Vietnam, but it also brings hope to investors in other countries.
https://e.vnexpress.net/news/economy/bankrupt-ftx-raises-vietnamese-investors-hopes-with-email-4588667.html
As far as I know, users from other countries/regions also got the same email so I think that its too early to celebrate, especially since we know that billions of dollars are still missing so chances of people getting all of their money back are slim.

Looking at the spreadsheet right now I feel a nice accumulator can be made using what the majority have gone for  Roll Eyes what could gp wrong  Tongue
Just follow slackovic and you are good to go. At least that's what I will start doing from now on.  Cheesy

I wanted to take a part but TBH I don't know how? I tried to read but still don't know what I need to do?

so i decided not to be involved if i don't have enough time to read enough to understand this contest
Tbh it looked complicated to me as well (I also joined late) when I just skimmed over that text in the first post, but then I actually took like 10 minutes to read the rules and it turned out to be pretty simple and straightforward. I am sure that you will be fine if you just give it another try.
1718  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk discord server on: April 04, 2023, 08:26:52 PM
Thanks for this but this is not the discord server, I ask about an Official discord server.
He gave you the corect link, that's the only bitcointalk Discord server and if you checked it you would see that one of the bitcointalk administrators (Cyrus) created it. Me and bunch of other members are there, but its not as active as it used to be.
1719  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cygan abuses DT - Proof! on: April 04, 2023, 03:21:43 PM
I'm OK with leaving feedbacks and I should do it when it's needed, even my feedback as non DT member don't have that much weight. But I have no intentions to become DT2 or DT1 member. I really don't want that someone would analyze my trust list, my judgement and etc. Less centralised trust system is good thing, but no, I'll stay away from these things as I used to do during all my time here.
While you can simply avoid being elected as DT1 by keeping your Trust list at default so you are not eligible, the more feedbacks you leave higher the chances of others including/excluding you in their list which can result in you ending in DT2 whether you want it or not.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mind is unrest on: April 04, 2023, 02:49:39 PM
Hardware wallet is best place for saving Bitcoin fund, but its not really necessary when you have option holding assets in free wallet like Trustwallet or any mobile phone wallet.
Mobile phone wallets are one of the least secure ways to store your crypto and it should be only used as a hot wallet due several reasons; first, mobile phone (especially android based ones) are prone to malware attacks and 2nd, you open yourself to a $5 dollar wrench attack.

I have been several years with cryptocurrencies and still not use hardware wallet for saving bitcoin, most time hold and save bitcoin in exchange account.
If mobile phones are one of the worst places to store your crypto, then exchanges (and other centralized platforms) are the worst possible place. You are playing a very dangerous game if you think that your bitcoin is safe there after everything that has happened lately and milions of people losing their money because they used exchanges as banks (which they obviously aren't). After all, its far cheaper to learn from other people's mistake than from your own.
