1781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 21, 2023, 05:04:31 PM
And for me it was one of the best things on the 95th Academy Awards that, despite seven nominations, The Fablemans didn't win a single Oscar. I know that it is very likely that I'm wrong, but I see it as a start of a new era in cinematography. The era where there will be less films like The Fablemans and Avatar: The Way of Water(4 nominations,1 Oscar for Best Visual Effects), and more movies like Everything Everywhere All at Once, which took all the major Oscars(for me, at least): Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
I find The Fabelmans and Avatar to be quite different type of movies; while first one is pretty intimate drama where Spielberg reveals some quite personal stuff and its sort of autobiopic, Avatar is a pure blockbuster whose sole purpose is to make as much money as possible and a way for Cameron to play with the cutting edge movie technologies.

I think Oscars reached point of no return as for so many years its more important about what movie is (minorities, lgbtq) than an actual quality of the movie which make them less relevant than ever before making it a movie equivalent of Eurovision song contest.
1782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding the mechanics of an atm bitcoin purchase on: March 21, 2023, 01:32:27 PM
It's fairly simple really: you click on "Buy" button on ATM, choose the amount you wanna buy (in fiat) and then BATM asks you to show QR code of your mobile wallet (BATM scans it) to they know eher to send bitcoin. After that is done, you insert the bills and that's about it. Once you come home you move bitcoin somewhere safer, preferably to a hardware wallet.

I would never advise you to make use of a Bitcoin ATM to purchase bitcoin. The charges are extremely high, however. Why not make use of other means of purchase like ? Hodlhodl if what you are after is protecting your privacy.
While its true that BATM fees are generally higher than the other means, you don't know OP's situation so maybe for him that's the most convenient option. Or maybe he just wants to know how those machines operate.

Croatia is great in many sports, but not American Football and Baseball. I guess it's because those are "American" sports Grin
We have Bill Belichick (probably the greatest NFL head coah) representing us in NFL so its not like we are not leaving a mark there as well. Cheesy

I just left my answers and I am really curious to see how it goes, hopefully some of that slackovic's luck rub on me. Cheesy

1784  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deflation in signature campaigns on: March 21, 2023, 11:18:31 AM
And one last question. The CM campaign paid for a maximum of 50 posts per week, while the rest (except Stake.com) pay for a maximum of 25. Do you think this will lead some people to try to build up an alt account so that in the future they can get paid for two campaigns for a total of 50 posts per week?
There is always possibility for that as for some even 50 posts per week wasn't enough so they managed to get few more alts in CM campaign, but I don't expect to see a big surge in high quality newbie accounts (that would be a sign that something fishy is going on).

Afaik CM is the longest running campaign ever on the forum so I'm not sure this ever happened before.
Crypto.Games is two years older than CM and still running.

1785  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: March 21, 2023, 09:58:24 AM

Broj postova tijekom Veljace 2023

Lista aktivnih clanova tijekom Veljace 2023

1. slackovic [50]
2. Daniel91 [36]

This is true, but he's wanted by the FBI. His chances of never getting caught are slim.
True, but its easy to say "just surrender and get good lawyers" when you are not the one that has possibility of going to prison for 40 years and since that guy who is allegedly behind CM 49 years old, that's bascially a life sentence.

1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 20, 2023, 05:51:07 PM

You'll quickly learn to ignore posters like Sirait Wink Their quality has actually improved over time, but only in grammar and spelling. Actual value to the sports they presumably follow..?
Hah yeah, after I replied to him I noticed that he is one of those 1xbit shitposters whose posts should be ignored/reported and deleted. Since mods are reluctant to do the latter, I opted for ignore so I don't see more of that drivel.

PSG has two of the best players in the world Messi and Mbappe in the attack. Rennes' defenders were able to successfully block these two players. Rennes' defense was very solid in this match.
If Rennes has to thank anyone, that's their goalkeeper as he was bascially the man of the match. Either way PSG is a mess and woulnd't put a dime on them.
1788  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum on: March 20, 2023, 04:37:23 PM

1789  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum on: March 20, 2023, 03:52:09 PM

1790  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance launches new cloud mining for Bitcoin on: March 20, 2023, 01:18:37 PM
Please  I will like to know which mining pool is better for mining bitcoin and also if they do ask for Kyc verification
But why would you bother with cloud mining and waiting for a certain period of time to get your bitcoin when you can simply buy it directly and have it immediately in your own non-custodial wallet? And yes, if you plan to use Binance cloud mining you will have to go through KYC.
1791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 20, 2023, 08:00:04 AM
in the champions league, PSG is the favorite team to win, but seeing the quality of their performance in the last few matches, I doubt they will be able to win the champions league, the thing that really doesn't make sense to me is because they were beaten by Rennes twice this year just. that means rennes is a stronger team than PSG, totally unexpected.
Buddy, PSG is not in CL anymore, Bayern kicked them out two weeks ago.

Marseille team took advantage of psg loss today and they closed the gap between them and paris team to seven points thanks to their win against Reims and in the process they stoped Reims unbeaten streak that lasted 19 games very impressive performance from alexis sanchez who scored two goals and gave marseille team three precious points.
Imho, Marseille lost its chance for the title when PSG beat them few weeks ago. If Tavares scored from those early chances we would have looked at very diffeent game imho and now Marseille would be just 1 point behind them. As a matter of fact, they would maybe even be ahead of them as that win would boost their confidence so they wouldn't so easily lose points like vs Strasbourg last week.

I watched the Reims vs Marseille game last night and honestly they should be happy if they finish 2nd as they are not ready yet to seriously endanger PSG as they are even more incosistent than them. Sure, they beat Reims that is a very tough team to beat (19 games withour loss before Marseiile game) but they had a lot of luck to win 3 points last night.
1792  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 20, 2023, 07:41:29 AM
At the moment the news appears to be that the whereabouts of the owner of Chipmixer remains unknown. Maybe he has enough funds to remain hidden from any authorities chasing him but at some point he will end up getting caught or he will surrender voluntarily.
Why are you so sure that he will either get caught or surrender? Its obviously not easy to reach this guy because if it was, wouldn't they actually track him and arrest first before going public with all this and giving him an opportunity to run.

1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 20, 2023, 07:26:32 AM
But, I promise you, I can make a better movie with that budget and that cast, not me personally as a director, but give me the money and let me be a producer and I can hire the same director but hire a different script, not because this will suck, we haven't even seen it, but it is a reward season movie and that sucks, people hate on Marvel but at least they do movies for the public, not for awards.
Cool story bro.  Cheesy

How experienced you are in the movie industry, how many movies you produced so far or worked on in any capacity that you claim you can do a much better work than Nolan? Gotta love guys like you that probably never suceeded at anything in their life, telling how better they would be than people who are actually doing it for a living.
1794  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who is most reliable person? on: March 20, 2023, 06:31:04 AM
Can we also show our bitcoin key to someone closer, maybe love, spouse, next of kin?
Better still between someone; who introduced and taught you about bitcoin, a friend or family member and your children who's most preferred and reliable person to give out our information about your bitcoin?
The only one who can answer and decide that is you because you know those people and how they are, but I personally woulnd't trust anyone else other than my wife and my parents with something as sensitive as this is.

Giving out your private key or seed phrase means you want the person to have access to your assets. Once they have it they can carryout transactions without your consent so its best to keep it to yourself. Don't make the mistake and give your keys to anyone especially the person who taught you about bitcoin.
Trust No One because money can be tempting so expect the worse whenever you share your keys with anyone.
While people should be generally careful regarding these things, I don't think that its a smart thing to not have a contingency plan in case something happens to you. In my case, my wife has the access to the Ledger's seed phrase and instructions what to do in case something happened to me as it would suck if all my effort in all these years goes in vain. Now someone might say "your wife might end up stealing your crypto and running away" and while that's true, if I don't trust her with money, why the hell would I even stay married to her?

1795  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dilemma between focusing on B@bitcointalk and my current paid employment on: March 20, 2023, 06:19:56 AM
Do I quit my Job for Bitcointalk? (This is running through my mind)

My Job pays less that $300 a Month.

I am in a serious dilemma.

I need some motivating advice on what to do.
Even though there are signature campaigns that pay more than your job, I still wouldn't advise you of doing that. First of all, it will take you quite some time to actually achieve the rank needed to earn that kind of money (read 1+ year). 2nd, you never know what future brings and signature campaigns might be completele reomoved, or traffic on this forum might drop so much that it won't be interesting to advertisers anymore.

What I would suggest you to do is to edcuate yourself, learn new skills that will open you to a possibility of a better job, while being active on this forum so maybe one day you can earn some extra money from it.
1796  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: March 20, 2023, 06:11:38 AM
Even if you don't count Indonesia as one of the local board that has decline in merit distribution, I want to say something here.
However, regarding the number of merit distributed, we are slightly down compared to January which managed to distribute 482 merit to 39 users, while in February the number of merit distributed became 376 to 34 users.
The only reason why I didn't specifically mentioned Indonesia among those who had reduced amount of merit is because majorify of others expoerienced the same and i only focued on Russian and German because that's where majority of that drop came from.

So, we can expect our local report soon?
It will be out tomorrow. Cheesy

The number of shared merits is really in a big decline and maybe it's time for new merit sources in German and Russian local boards.
I don't know about German board, but Russian would have much better merit/post ratio if they didn't have HYIP dedciated section where bots spam their crap + I suspect there's a lot of drama and arguing there  over Ukraine invasion. But in the end, we casn only speculate as only the members of those board know the real situation and whether they actually need another merit source or not.
1797  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak (filmovi, serije, knjige etc) on: March 19, 2023, 05:25:08 PM
Gledalo se dosta toga pa ajmo redom

Monsoon Wedding (2001)

Find Me Guilty (2006)

Rio de Janeiro, specijalci, droga, korupcija, politicari etc i sve to vrhunski upakirano te uz odlicni Cidade de Deus vjerojatno najbolji Brazilski filmovi u zadnjih dvadesetak godina.

1798  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dare to take such gamble? on: March 19, 2023, 01:58:18 PM
I was scrolling my page on Twitter as usual and I saw this post from a crypto guru, I don't know him but many people do say he knows how the market works. He put up a gamble worth of 2million USD, open to anyone who doesn't believe that Bitcoin will reach 1 million dollars 💰💰💰 in 90days, with the way he has been right with past predictions, this thread is making some noise on Twitter, but honestly, I found this prediction to be impossible, maybe I don't see what makes him believe that this is possible.
I don't think that you understood his tweet correctly. His offer was not for anyone thinking that bitcoin won't reach 1 million and instead it was reply to a guy claiming that he is willing to take $1 million bet that US doesn't enter hyperinflation. Here's his tweet as well https://twitter.com/balajis/status/1636797265317867520

Don't worry. I wasn't putting too much pressure on myself since I'm not that big of a sports fanatic like some of the guys here. However I'm still at the top of the table in Division 2 so I'm pretty satisfied Smiley
You know how we say in Croatia, bolje se roditi bez kurca nego bez srece (roughly translated "its better to be born without dick than without luck"). Cheesy Joke aside, I went through those google forms and majority of questions are from pretty mainstream sports & competitions (at least for us in Europe) so its not like you have to be a die hard sports fan in order to be competitive.

When you read the rules it may look complicated but essentially you just have to send the answers by the deadline (usually by Tuesday afternoon Europe time) and you are good to go.
Yep, at the first look it may look complicated but its quite simple and straightforward.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of defense the accused owner puts up.  Hopefully he's got enough money to hire a good lawyer after all those assets got ganked by the cabal of governments behind the investigation.
Well they will have to catch him first. Afaik he is still at large and with the amount of money he (probably) has, he can stay hidden for quite a while. Or I misunderstood something and they got him already?
