1761  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: March 27, 2023, 09:23:15 AM

How does this explorer work?
Here is detailed explanation how wallet explorer works and how it connects the addresses: https://www.walletexplorer.com/info

There should have some other solid connections. It worth looking for. If I am not wrong BitMaxz was a regular in Chipmixer campaign so he does not seem to be a chatbot shitposter.
Wallet explorer was not the only evidence as there's also use of the same address which in most cases is usually enough to prove the connection and as you can see, Blitzboy actually used the address first meaning we can exclude the scenario in which he copied BitMaxz address in the first place.

1763  Economy / Reputation / Re: I need help to investigate Blitzboy and need DT members to tag him. on: March 27, 2023, 07:50:42 AM
Is there a reason why BitMaxz shouldn't be tagged along with Blitzboy? The reason I ask is I found Blitzboy is pretty clearly posting AI-generated text:
How come he went all these years without getting even a neutral tag saying he is Blitzboy's alt? The evidence presented by marloboroza wasn't convincing enough for anyone?

The larger question is should posting what is clearly AI-generated text be a tag-able offense?
Afaik, those who plagiarize don't usually get negative feedback so I am not sure that is the right course of action even for members that use chatbots. Its probably better to try get them banned intead, but its easier said than done as in some cases its  hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt that someone used chatbot.
1764  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 27, 2023, 07:30:07 AM
I may not have read all the latest news, but the Montenegrin police detained a man who looked like Do Kwon. His fingerprints have not yet been verified and the data has not been transferred to Korea.
Hah you indeed missed latest news as Interpol already confimed that they verified fingerprints and that person arrested a couple of days ago is indeed Do Kwon. Now the only question is who will get him, South Korea or Unites States. Former makes more sense as he is their citizen and they issues warrant first, but we all know how "persuasive" US can be.

Interpol says a man arrested in Montenegro is Kwon Do-hyeong, also known as Do Kwon, the disgraced founder of a collapsed crypto company who is wanted in South Korea and the United States on fraud and other charges.

Kwon, a South Korean national, founded the blockchain platform behind the TerraUSD stablecoin and its sister coin Luna. Both coins lost their value in a matter of days in May 2022, wiping about $40 billion from the crypto market and setting off panic across the speculative sector.

Kwon’s identity was confirmed through a fingerprint match, Interpol’s national central bureau in Seoul told CNN on Friday.

Found a couple other examples... does this constitute a ban, or just spam?
I stumbled upon a similar case week ago and member got banned so its definitely worth it to report. Maybe this phrase "As an AI language model" should be checked using ninjastic.space to find more of those.

1766  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bounty Star is a Scammer on: March 26, 2023, 05:29:34 PM
....
Even though some of those name that you claimed never made "proof of authentification" post actually did it (Urmi3, ARNI4), there is definitely something fishy going on as how can accounts that didn't even registered in the bounty get stakes, or accounts that were active last time months before bounty campaign even started. In the best possible scenario bounty manager is completely incompetent and managed to get tricked by bounty scammers while more probably scenario is that he simply inserted those accounts in order to get some free tokens.

Btw, have you confronted him about all this and if yes, what was his answer?

We here don't see anything strange about the account above, I don't know what we see with the account above. Can you give clear instructions for us, regarding the accounts above, involvement and connection between each other
Point of his post is not to make connections between those accounts, but rather to say that bounty manager inserted those accounts and gave them stakes even though they didn't participate in bounty campaign. And he managed to prove that some of those accounts weren't even active for ~5 months yet they managed to get stakes of bounty that started month ago.

OP, I'm pretty sure, this topic you made, must be your Alt account, you are hiding behind the scenes, if you are professional enough, make accusations with your main account, we will respect that, if your main account is playing behind all this.
Of course this is his alt account but what matters more than him coming on his main account is here is whether what he claims is true.

Yeah, well... Odds on x2 was too good to miss it. I know that Croatia tends to play bad in the first games of any qualifications so I couldn't miss the opportunity. While the game was on, I was certain that I will lose the bet, but I guess that in football nothing is certain until the final whistle.
Yeah the only thing I was afraid of is us starting slow as usual but we actually looked better than I expected, minus the not being able to finish the game sooner.

I used to bet against us thinking "even if we lose I'll still get some money so I will feel better later" but then that infamous 2008 Euro QF game against Turkey came. We lost and I won the ticket but I was so pissed off because of the war we lost the game that I ripped it to pieces (it wasn't some crazy amount of money though). If not for that unlucky loss we could have won it as we played great that tournament so I said to myself never again betting against any of our teams.

Actually that goal made my day yesterday. Not only did I win my bet (I put some money on x2), that goal made notblox1's answer wrong so I'm still in the game to win this week.
Up until now I was blaming bad luck and our players for not having more composure to sort out the game sooner, but now I know who is actually to blame for that late goal. You jinxed us!   Tongue

Looking at the spreadsheet, I am on my way to have 0 correct answers. I think there should be some reward for that feat. Grin
1769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is storing bitcoin is more secure in iPhone than in an Andriod phone on: March 26, 2023, 07:52:55 AM
Most of us keep our bitcoin and crypto in wallets stored in either iPhone or Andriod phones. Even we have an exchanges accounts app on our mobile phones.
If that is really the case, that majority of people are keeping their crypto on ther mobile phones then many are doing it very wrong. Keep in mind that malware is not youyr only cocnern when you are storing larger amounts of crypto on your mobile phone as anyone can take the phone from you and beat the shit out of you to get the access once he realized that you have a mobile phone wallet. This scenraio might seem far fetched you, but these things happen.

Since,  iOS offer better security and low chance of malwares etc, is it better to buy an iphone to store our crypto or even an Andriod phone is enough for this purpose?
It doesn't make much sense to me to spend $1k+ just to be a little bit safer when you can spend less than $100 for a hardware wallet and be much safer. I am using android phone but I never have more than $100-$200 on my hot wallet as that's the max amount I am willing to risk to lose that way
1770  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism Vs Scam on: March 26, 2023, 07:28:18 AM
But let's compare posts from ChatGPT. AI-generated posts are also the most common form of plagiarism, but the forum has not yet decided on the punishment or acceptance of such posts. Accordingly, if fraud takes time to detect, then some plagiarism methods also take time, and we can say that ChatGPT, that is, plagiarism, is also not moderated.
Based on several cases that I saw in that "report plagiarism" thread where members got banned and one even nuked (iirc you reported that nuked guy), I think that forum staff already decided how to deal with ChatGPT users and took the stance on that. Tricky part is to actually prove beyond reasonable doubt that someone used the bot and it will take some time before tools get reliable enough.
1771  Other / Meta / Re: One new topic per month on: March 25, 2023, 08:42:09 PM
Instead of limiting the amount of topics someone can create (which I think it's bad suggestion) I would rather see people being more selective when they chose a topic to reply to and when they see poorly written/nonsense one to rather report it than leave a reply.
1772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 25, 2023, 08:24:00 PM
Agree. Croatia is consistently successful in the World Cups (they are less lucky in the European Championships as they meet the future winners of the tournament in the early stages) and are a strong team in general, so even if Wales is not bad, the quotes are fair.
Yep, competition at EURO is tougher than at WC as you have to beat some very serious team to even get out of the group stage, let alone win the whole tournament. Good example of that was 2012 Euro when we were in the group with Spain and Italy that were later in the final. Worst of all, we played very good against both of those teams.

With Euro expanding to 24 teams these things will change now though, at least the part about getting out of the group stage.

edit: well deserved lead Smiley
1773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 25, 2023, 08:02:10 PM
I'm a bit surprised that odds for Croatia against Wales is so low.. Yes, Wales isn't that team as they were few years ago, but still, it's a bit understimating.
I don't think that ~1.4 is underestimating at all considering the circumstances; Wales has been far from great on the WC (1 draw and 2 losses), two of their very important players retired and on top of that they have injury problems. On the other hand, Croatia is playing home after yet another success at Word Cup with almost all players available as the only one who retired is Lovren.
1774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: March 25, 2023, 09:23:28 AM

For Belgium it is great seeing them win with such ease in Sweden home, something even Italy could not do not that many years ago when Italy had a strong team but they were out of the Euro because of Sweden.
Same old Belgium, kicking ass in qualifications and then bottling it up when it matters the most.

But, Norway has Haaland, and Wales without Bale?, sure Croatia has confirmed without significant resistance, while Spain, maybe quite difficult to guard Haaland where enough agile, and sharp on front of goals. (maybe any surprised Norway won the match if Haaland create more hat tricks)
Haaland got injured uring training few days ago and is alredy back in Manchester so he wont play against Spain meaning everyhthing except Spain winning would be a big surprise. Regarding Croatia vs Wales, we are the clear favorites here, especially since Bale (and Allen) retired but then again we are known to start slow in qualifications.

1775  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 24, 2023, 10:02:24 PM

Rich and spoiled characters like De Kwon or Bankman probably consider all this to be a game with high stakes, and time will tell if the game was successful or if they will become roommates in prison.
That's for sure. Just remember when someone warned him on Twitter few months before shit hit the fan how easily his stablecoin can get rekted and he mocked and dimissed the guy, instead taking it as a warning. Regarding them being roomates, won't Do Kwon be extradicted to Singapore?

He wasn't very smart. According to the news, he was using a Belgian and a Costa Rican fake documents. Somebody should tell him there aren't many people who look Asian in Costa Rica, and he'd have a better chance posing as a citizen of an Asian country.
I think that Do Kwon is far from stupid (at least based on his CV prior to Terra) but he is obviously not a criminal mastermind because of the way he got caught. I mean, who in the right mind goes to Europe when you are on the run and have access to all that money?
1776  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 24, 2023, 11:45:03 AM
I somehow believe that he would have done much better if he had flown from Serbia than if he had gone to Montenegro. A few months ago, there were rumors that he was last seen in Serbia, and it is logical to assume that he arrived in that country by plane and passed control at the airport. The question is how the facial recognition system they use when checking every passenger didn't detect it in Serbia, but it did in Montenegro?
Maybe he came to Serbia before Singapore issued arrest warning and cancelled his passport and only after that happened he got stuck there? My guess is that his plan was never to actually stay in Serbia and instead move someplace safer as Europe is generally a very bad place to hide but since his passport got cancelled, he had to make another plan (getting fake documents and then trying to fly from Montenegro).

By the way, no wonder that he got caught as allegedly this is the document he tried to use (I sure hope there are some movie connoisseurs here). Cheesy

1777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 24, 2023, 06:59:23 AM
I always remember the guy who spent 30+ bitcoins on pizza and now these bitcoins are worth a fortune. Like I don't want to be this guy and pay with an asset that WILL go up in price. It feels like you paying more for the product from a future perspective.
Are you referring to Laszlo Hanyecz who spent 10k bitcoin on two pizzas and you remembered the amount wrong,  or you are talking about some other case?

What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.
Why not just use fiat instead if you prefer stablecoins for payment?

Regarding your question, I felt like you at the beginning when I just started paying stuff with bitcoin as I always had it in back of my head that I might overpay something when bitcoin goes up but after some time I simply start thinking it that way and spending bitcoin when I need to. I will try to avoid big purchases though when bitcoin is down a lot (for example few months ago when it was ~16k) and will use bitcoin for cheaper stuff like VPN or IPTV monthly sub and wait for better times (like now) to start spending.
1778  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 24, 2023, 06:29:58 AM
It would be great if somebody indeed confirmed the news rather than merely speculating that it was him.
The news originated from Montengero minister of internal affairs and not from some random guy so it was very likely that it was Do Kwon. Anyway, seems like the man arrested at Montenegro airport with falsified documents is indeed Do Kwon as Interpol confirmed it to CNN.

And why are people still holding that garbage token LUNA anyway? It will never rise up again. Not after it brought the entire industry to its knees.
I guess some people lost so much that its easier to hope they will recover from their loss rather than accept the truth.
1779  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 23, 2023, 05:15:34 PM
He obviously had badly forged documents and thought he would pass under the radar - and if he had been at all smart, he could have flown from Serbia to Russia without any problems and been out of reach of anyone.
Well, who is to say that Serbs woulnd't arrest him with fake documents if he tried fly to Russia? But even if he managed to reach Russia, I am not so sure that he would find any protection in Russia as he is not Snowden or someone of that caliber so Ruissia has some actual interest to protect him.

Is this means that refund might be possible for all the victim of Luna/Ust scam? He obviously took away the company reserve funds that supposed to be supporting the token price stability.
I woulnd't get my hopes up just because he got arrested. Sure, they may force him to give the rest of the money that he still has, but that would be nowhere near to make everyone whole.
1780  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 23, 2023, 02:52:34 PM
After a search on google of "Chipmixer" I found there's another website that's up and running
I don't know if it's from the person who created the official chipmixer or if it's a clone.

Its a fake one of course. It's not the first one though and probably not the last attempt as scammers are trying to trick those unaware that the real ChipMixer website is down. Unfortunately, some will fall for this.
