2821  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-19] Bank of Indonesia Discourages Use of Bitcoin on: June 19, 2015, 10:22:49 PM
Good thing they discouraged and not banned it from usage Grin
2822  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-19] ArsTechnica: After Bitcoin loan goes south, judge rules man must... on: June 19, 2015, 10:21:10 PM
Good to see that the person who lent the coins is actually going forward with justice... This just goes to show that people who come here to scam aren't inimputable, just because this is "magic internet money"... This is serious business. Unfortunately some people just see this as joke and an opportunity to scam.
2823  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Black Holes and it's effect on price on: June 19, 2015, 10:16:54 PM
I think the price would have to go up, too...

As for me, I've lost a total of 0.003 BTC I think, more or less Smiley
2824  Other / Meta / Re: Banned? Someone changed my PW! on: June 19, 2015, 03:24:57 PM
You should post that in Meta

That being said, you can follow the instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Good luck Smiley
2825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best method to create a paper wallet on: June 19, 2015, 02:53:50 PM
Just adding to what was previously said: use a dumb printer, preferentially. And also consider other things beyond paper wallets Smiley
2826  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best android wallet for a noob? on: June 18, 2015, 07:58:16 PM
Mycelium is quite good, and not hard to use... Smiley It even has a local trader so he can exchange to fiat if he needs in an emergency.

“Mr. Bridges has regretted his actions from the very beginning,” Bridges’ lawyer, Steve Hale Levin said.

Pretty sad when we have examples like these in our authorities. He obviously had to say this, as it would probably be worse for him if he didn't. I'm waiting to see where this goes... More curious about this than with the main Silk Road case, actually.

Unfortunately we can't "decentralise" our authorities and make them run like our blockchain Smiley
2828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think I found Satoshi's latest message --- Sent a message on 2-2-2014 on: June 18, 2015, 07:36:53 PM
What is the exact proof that that message was submitted by the real satoshi?

Nowhere! Smiley
2829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think I found Satoshi's latest message --- Sent a message on 2-2-2014 on: June 18, 2015, 07:33:59 PM
Obviously that's not by Satoshi... So I'm posting just to "bump" this post:

OK guys, this is obviously an anagram.  If you exclude some of the unnecessary letters in the message you get "The perplexing wok awoke truth"  Clearly this is a reference to clams (CLAM) because the way you mine them is rather perplexing, and when you find them it is as if the truth has awakened.

But if you use all of the letters things become interesting:

I AM VODUNS NIPPY LUV STRANGER. WE ARE ONE TIT.

OXO

WHITEY B  GOATEE

VOTE KOOK HE KEEN hh

This may seem like nonsense at first, but if you consider that a vodun is a spirit, it refers to Satoshi's ethereal nature in the bitcoin community.  But if you look further in the message it is also clear that he is referring to VOD, the legendary boob licker.  Nippy is Satoshi's pet name, given to him by VOD.  He is a love stranger for the same reason that he is a vodun: no one knows who the heck he is.  "We are one tit" reveals both that they are deeply involved, perhaps even married.  OXO is a just a greeting and doesn't mean much besides hugs and kisses.  But here is the shocking part:  he reveals his name as Whitey B!!! Goatee is clearly another pet name so it can be momentarily disregarded.   So who is Whitey B?  None other than Whitey Bulger!!!

And finally he leaves us with a message for the future:  vote for Donald Trump because he is "keen".  Obviously it is Trump because he is the kookiest candidate.  I have no idea what the hh is for, but I bet it is mysterious.

There!  Now we know who Satoshi is!  The mystery is finally solved, along with a community member (VOD) that has direct access to him!

So VOD how is Satoshi doing these days?

Haha Cheesy Absolutely hilarious, this should go into this forum's wall of fame! Grin
2830  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Monstercat + Bitcoin on: June 18, 2015, 07:26:22 PM
They have some nice names there, but unfortunately for them, they somehow managed to put Krewella first in their artist page... Grin

Speaking more seriously, I hope they open their Bitcoin store again. If music websites like Beatport or labels accepted Bitcoin, I'd buy quite a lot more music than I do right now.
2831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Official Lamborghini for bitcoin thread! on: June 18, 2015, 07:19:35 PM
I've owned a couple of quasi supercars. I don't think I'd ever go there again. In the UK it doesn't inspire appreciation. People just tend to think you're a flashy twat.

Staying under the radar is far more peaceful and more fun. I'd go for a stinky old banger with a few hundred grand's worth of WRC technology bristling underneath.

Wasn't aware that was the current of thought in the UK, it seemed quite the opposite when I went there once: super cars pretty much everywhere on the streets. Of all kinds and brands...

So I guess there are many twats around there? Cheesy

As for staying under the radar... Agreed Wink
2832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: From 370,000 Full Bitcoin Nodes to 6,000: What happened? on: June 18, 2015, 06:25:42 PM
It seems to me that there needs to be a distinction between "running a full node" and running Bitcoin Core.

There may have been 370k people running Bitcoin Core, but how much benefit were they providing to the network? Running Bitcoin Core long enough to sync the block chain and send some bitcoins or view your balance provides very little benefit, especially if you haven't opened port 8333.

I assume the numbers presented have that distinction already made... At least the OP and thread title talk about full nodes.
2833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger Integrates Biometric Authentication on: June 18, 2015, 06:21:06 PM
Too bad they won't adopt fingerprint tech... Since they won't, I'll be waiting around for retina scan technology Cheesy

Thank you for the new version, updating right now Smiley
2835  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is My Electrian Overcharging on: June 17, 2015, 02:48:32 PM
For what I know, if the guy is good, he's not really overcharging... Wiring is extremely expensive these days, almost anywhere.
2836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you buy a prepaid crypto card? on: June 17, 2015, 02:45:27 PM
I definitely don't see myself buying such a card right now. Maybe two years ago, when I started learning about Bitcoin... but definitely not now Smiley I'm very used to the usual way I buy and sell Bitcoins.
2837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get Dope for Bitcoin All Around The US on: June 17, 2015, 02:41:43 PM
Clicked here to report this post, thinking it was spam, but definitely wasn't disappointed... Cheesy

Good to see that you can now go to the cinemas with Bitcoin!
2838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the Religion?! on: June 17, 2015, 02:40:18 PM
I definitely don't see this as a religion. A religion has a God, which was never been seen, and who lives on people's minds. A religion is based on things that cannot be seen, but only believed in. Bitcoin can definitely be seen and it's "truthness" can be proved with science and mathematics Smiley It's actually quite the opposite of a religion...

This is a bit more like a football/soccer club, or any other sports club Smiley We have "fans", people who spread news about their "team", we have "coaches", "players"... Cheesy
2839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Santander: Blockchain Tech Can Save Banks $20 Billion a Year on: June 16, 2015, 07:59:14 PM
They are finally discovering gun powder Roll Eyes It was taking long to praise blockchain technologies... Now the question is, how are they going to implement it for fiat currency? Whatever they're going to do, I bet it will be centralized.
2840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miners are all hitting close to the cap currently on: June 16, 2015, 06:43:33 PM
Probably stress tests are being run in the light of recent block limit discussion, but as people have said, when price goes up, normally transactions do too.

As for shorena's post, I find it really disturbing that 6k unconfirmed transactions waiting isn't that much of a number... I wasn't aware that this number was so high at times. I'm all in favor of rising block size limit, but these high numbers still shock me. Just goes on showing that people who don't want to raise the block limit aren't really thinking clearly...

We need that block size change ASAP. We're a "small player", for now. Imagine when Bitcoin approaches most people and people start using it more frequently and for more things... We definitely don't want to have hundreds of thousands of transactions just waiting hours for one confirmation.
