1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Much Bitcoins Do You Have? on: November 07, 2015, 09:18:51 PM
These kind of replies vary from time to time... In some people's case it varies from hour to hour Cheesy replied with 0.1 - 0.5, right now, might be different tomorrow Smiley
1883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: November 05, 2015, 09:44:13 AM
Sold a bit on this bump for profit, to help with some bills... But yes, still holding most of what I have Smiley
1884  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post your Total time logged into Bitcointalk on: November 05, 2015, 09:42:56 AM
Finally... Cool

1885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kimdotcom sold, heading back to $200 on: November 05, 2015, 09:39:56 AM
If he sold he would probably be just a drop in the water... Smiley Also, nobody can know for sure if he sold anything during this climb Cheesy
1886  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is reason of recent price increase of Bitcoin ? on: November 04, 2015, 01:06:08 PM
Other... Someone is trolling with us for some profit Grin
1887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China BTC Exchanges now accepting direct bank deposits! HUGE on: November 03, 2015, 08:10:03 PM
Weren't deposits disabled because of a Chinese law? If I remember correctly they stopped allowing deposits on Bitcoin exchanges accounts and invited such exchanges to close their accounts... What happened meanwhile?
1888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin symbol accepted for Unicode on: November 03, 2015, 04:21:49 PM
You guys are thinking way ahead, and that's awesome! Would definitely love to see BTC on my keyboard... Smiley
1889  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DDoS attack on Kraken? WTFFFF on: November 03, 2015, 03:55:30 PM
Someone's trying to sabotage a big player on the BTC/EUR pair for the price to keep steady Grin
1890  Other / Meta / Re: Similar Usernames Attempting To Scam - Defaults Please Tag on: November 03, 2015, 09:46:37 AM
This user has no posts, but it is clearly trying to mimic an account of a Legendary user here with quite a bit of trust... No good can come out of that, I think, mods should keep an eye, please.
1891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin symbol accepted for Unicode on: November 03, 2015, 09:35:25 AM
Looks like we have been accepted for the next revision of Unicode! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be news or a thread about this... Only a twitter announcement, but I bet this will be discussed a lot in the next few hours Smiley

What do you all think? I think this is great news!
1892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen AMA happening now. on: November 02, 2015, 04:45:22 PM
Is this really Gavin? Was it verified? I've never heard of this new Bitcoin forum...
1893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone on Reddit took this picture on: November 02, 2015, 03:54:15 PM
This is good publicity, unlike what we see everyday... Obviously not talking about the articles inside the mags, as I haven't read them, but as you say they aren't indeed random mags...

I do wonder too what's it going to be like in 10 years. I just hope mainstream media starts to write without presenting only half of the facts.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever heard of BitKong? on: November 02, 2015, 03:17:31 PM
Looks like a nice site, but haven't tested it... As said, you should look about it on the gambling section. They have two threads as far as I could see...

1895  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain password lost, Paper Wallet restore possible? on: November 02, 2015, 03:12:26 PM
Just imagine, I had the coins on my blockchain wallet and would really have lost the password. So all my money would have been gone.

One could argue that you should have stored your password on several places and that if you want to store Bitcoins you should do it yourself and not trust on third party services Cheesy

Speaking more seriously, this isn't an issue of Bitcoin, but of the human nature... we tend to forget passwords, seeds, backups, mnemonic phrases (and we tend to make them very insecure) Smiley
1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain startup Antshares raised 2100 BTC in 10 days on: November 02, 2015, 03:05:00 PM
Didn't really understand what's this company all about from the translation of the article, but they must be up to something good to raise so many funds in a short amount of time... Chinese people aren't crazy when they go all in on something.

I thought they had a rep as degenerate gamblers as late 2013 and the recent stock market madness amply demonstrated.

Yes, they are huge gamblers, but as we all know they go big on mining facilities... And they don't do it just because they can, they want to succeed and have huge profits. I think the same is happening here due to the respectable quantity of funds they've managed to throw at this company... They must have something big going on. I think it's impossible that all those 2100 BTC were a result of gambling... Cheesy
1897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe it is to download the blockchain from a torrent? on: November 02, 2015, 03:01:51 PM
Bootstrap torrents exist and were widely used. They're now useless with the most recent Bitcoin Core versions (0.10 and up)
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore pretends to be pro bitcon on: November 02, 2015, 02:55:48 PM
That's pretty aggressive news... What happened for you to be such a target? I find it hard to believe everyone is a target right out of the box Shocked What if we all go there? We can't be killed based out of nothing...
1899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain startup Antshares raised 2100 BTC in 10 days on: November 02, 2015, 02:51:13 PM

1900  Other / Meta / Re: is here any chance that bitcointalk get close after some year? on: November 01, 2015, 06:36:17 PM
And the chance of bitcointalk closing is quite low Smiley

yup. many people considers bitcointalk.org to be the central (arguable, of course.) forum for anything related to bitcoin so I think this forum will continue to exist. not to mention that the owner of this forum have very little reason to close the site.

He also cooperates with justice when they request him to do so. So this isn't even some kind of internet target for three letter agencies Cheesy
