The stability of the forum doesn't rest on VOD's participation levels you give him far too much credit. Seems like the scammers got caught scamming in this instance and are hurt and are lashing out. Tsk tsk tsk... stop selling keys you are not legally entitled to sell end of problem right?

304  Other / Meta / Re: people "buying" trust without you noticing? on: May 01, 2015, 08:38:57 AM

Since you asked, I figure I would trust you with around 1.5-1.75 BTC, unless you have personal issues with me, in which case I'd trust you with 1 BTC or a bit less. And damn, your feedback page isn't pretty. I didn't see many claims that had anything to do with your financial trustworthiness, but damn do you have a lot of enemies. How many enemies someone has is also worth noting.

I've been in the Bitcoin scene for quite a while, you don't need to worry about me. I've never been scammed, because I've calculated trustworthiness to a near perfect science. Self interest my friends, people won't go against their own self interest, unless there are other motives towards screwing you over, which is how I factored that I'd trust you with less if I was one of your enemies (I'm not as far as I know).

*edit* Btw bick, you could probably ask to get your negative trust spam removed. The people with 100 negative ratings for you in the form of poems and stories actually make it difficult to read. Pretty sure that falls under the trust spam category that you could ask to have removed.

No issues "personally" with anyone really as I have met very few people in these forums to make that sort of assessment. For only seeing me from forum posts 1.5 to 1.75BTC sounds like a fair start heheheh. Only person I met that I have problem with is Josh Zerlan. We all know why he is not to be trusted. The others I am at war with are circumspect basing on how they attempt to manipulate consumers or support those who manipulate consumers here in these forums.

The more enemies the better given the lack of ethics for some of these people I will gladly wear red from each of them 100x over as the spam indicates. It is a badge of honor to me and I'd rather it be left there so when I am proven right it hangs there as a reminder. Look hard at Marto74 and Loshia as an example of being proven right in the longer term. Fraudster and shill symbiotic relations there all clearly documented still in the trust ratings.

I posted a thread about the trust spam and nothing was done, Dogie was slammed with the same spam and nothing was done. I don't care really my business / profession doesn't hinge on this trust system at all and any dealings in this space I am certain if asked I would never hold 80K USD again given what Avalon did with the chips I had weeks of sleepless nights till that was resolved and I got coins back in the rightful owners hands and I was relieved. Ugg never again. Within my field of education I am well respected with hardly anyone you would call an enemy at most adversaries and even then that is pushing it as I often train my direct competitors to be better educators.

====

As for the Trust System being able to balance itself out or self regulate sort of mentality, I don't agree with that entirely, and there have been some discussions on how to better the system hopefully those discussions lead somewhere but for me it will NEVER trust anyone unless I am willing to lose 100% of what I put in. Currently my foray into BTC mining is a net loss. BTC purchases net gain. Overall even. I know risk. I have seen reward and loss.

Personally those in the default need to be more proactive in verifying any person they add and I mean VERIFY who the hell they are not just based on past reputation in dealing within the forum. Most of the recent issues with Default Trust have stemmed from unvetted people abusing it. Something with Quickseller stinks to high heaven I don't really like anyone that is completely anonymous being on the default trust too many ways to abuse the system in that way.

When you think about that topic then there is a third explaination.

You are not providing an explanation. You are coming up with guesses based on nothing but assumptions. Not helpful.

How could you provide an explanation? In no way, as you are involved party at all with no actual factual knowledge of the situation.

What kind of miners was it? Did you run them by yourself before or did you buy them from someone and let them send there?

Have you ready anything I have written at all? They are brand new S5, delivered straight from Bitmain to ASICCRAP.

They have damaged them, they already admitted doing so.

This user does this on a lot of threads. Seemingly defending the indefensible actions and doesn't READ THE FUCKING THREAD. Careful he might call you an EXTORTIONIST next if you are looking for fair compensation for the damage. Never seen warped parts on a miner like that before WTF? That is some sort of extreme and sustained heating to cause that to warp.

Admission of liability?

I so glad we have some one that will keep the gear coming incase bitmain pulls a knc which I don't ever see them doing they know the value of all miners and what it can do for them in the long run , and looking forward to the stage 3 part more then anything, i may buy one of the USB sticks for fun .

Psst... you need chips from somewhere... let us hope Bitmain doesn't pull a BitFury.
309  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: April 30, 2015, 01:21:32 PM
Please document it. Possibly some Youtube vids DIY etc if you have time. Be very interesting to see if you can get it cool enough for your units.

Check out Earthship cooling if you have space on the farm to build a root cellar like room you could have the ground do most of the work for you via passive cooling. Just a tube and vent no AC required.

Or this...

Modern version of an Iranian Badgir cooling system where earth exchange and evaporation pre-cool incoming air drawn by a solar chimney.
310  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: April 30, 2015, 09:49:43 AM
Solar panel and DC air conditioner?

Or Evapo cooling in a few windows running a solar powered pump with batteries. Might save a lot more.

Might be worth it if you are thinking to pay for air conditioning powered on the grid will be a killer.
311  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: April 30, 2015, 09:39:00 AM
How much energy are you drawing on cooling with fans for all your units?

Costs?

Any ability to do a wall / window evapo cooling like in a big mining operation?

313  Other / Meta / Re: people "buying" trust without you noticing? on: April 30, 2015, 08:33:37 AM
I don't see why someone shouldn't leave feedback for loans that they complete. If someone borrows 0.01 BTC and pays back 0.015 BTC, make sure you leave that in your feedback. If someone has proven themselves trustworthy with 0.01 BTC, that doesn't mean they are trustworthy with any larger sums.

500 positive feedback from the most trusted members of the forum for 0.01 BTC each, doesn't make that person trustworthy with 5 BTC, maybe with 0.05.

How about 780 BTC and few people that verify it?

Then a mass of bullshit neg ratings?

Would you give me $80K USD to hold for you?

Trust no one unless you are willing and able to lose every satoshi.

316  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] B's A More Ethical & Trustworthy Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: April 30, 2015, 07:06:51 AM
Bitmain. More issues. Are we seeing too many problems to recommend buying from them?

It seems that there are a growing amount of concerns with the S5 and shipments of questionable products. It would be good to hear from Bitmain on these concerns here or in the thread posted below. Xian01 is a reputable member of this community and I personally value his radar on scams / customer service failures given his experience here in these forums in the past 2 or 3 years.

What do others think?

@ Bitmain:

Are these brand new & unused - or are they from your mining farm?

Ta.

Hi cathoderay,
Brand New.

Honestly, seeing this post by Bitmain, and hearing reports of them sending out dusty units with the old heat-sink design for Batch 5 completely destroyed any trust I had in them.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the performance of the B1 S5's I have, but I bought them because they were advertised as being quiet, and ~75dBA is not quiet by any reasonable measure.

Also, had some private communication with them that didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about doing more business with them. Their pricing shenanigans with the S5 was the final icing on the cake that made me buy a bunch of SP20's and finish out my farm for the time being - It's been making more sense to just buy BTC outright than purchase miners at the current prices.

Will probably be getting out of the mining game entirely this year unless the economics significantly change.

bitmain could fix the noise problem by sending the fans quiet to all their customers, but it certainly will not do it because the Chinese are too greedy for money

the fans mentioned wont fix the noise issue. the problem is the s3,2, and 1 are full contact heatsinks. while the s5 uses the same heatsink it seems the metal only touches the chip so the full amount of heat isnt being pushed into the heat sink anymore and ontop of that the second one that would go on the other side of the miner isnt being sent to customers like with the s3's signs that this was used can be seen on the components on the sides that face the plastic side plates. there is thermal paste applied there and partially whiped off which imply bitmain has run an additional cooling components on that side of the boards as well which we dont have. Other signs are that there are screw hols that arent being used that follow the same design as the otherside heatsink on the s3 which if there is no additional heatsink that is being used on that side then those screw hols wouldnt be there at all since they arent needed.

now i got refunded for my issues with bitmain. I said i would update this thread but i wont outright delete this thread because it is info that is needed. i also stated that i will revise it when an agreement is reached. so i will go do that now.

Edit: S5 has some sort 80c cut off issue?
317  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: April 30, 2015, 06:19:22 AM
+1 loshia!

This pool lied to the community, so I got no problem with it being attacked.

-1

Where were / are Loshia and Dogie when Marto74 lied to everyone and then ran off with their money / hardware the whole time outwardly promoting Technobit.eu / Marto74 as a reputable business for years?

Hypocrite much you two?

I think if you are going to be credible voices against those who scam people in the forums you might want to be consistent.

318  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bitmain antminer s4+ 1000$ 2.5ths rofffflllllll on: April 30, 2015, 05:35:27 AM
At this point I think when something good comes out, nobody will buy it cause we'll think
it's just a SCAM because they are a bad INVESTMENT!!!

FTFY Shazam!!!

Back on topic. Too expensive no hope of return on investment. Buy BTC and / or avoid price gouging on miners. Better to buy used miners in bulk at lower than cost if at all.

Is this a 'Hardware' thread or 'Mining Speculation'?
319  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Specifications Revealed [Updated 14/4/15] on: April 30, 2015, 02:48:37 AM
I've never understood this miner mentality...why are you wasting your money on miners if you think the price will jump? Your barely going to ROI if you buy hardware now as it is if ever, so why are you not buying the coin and holding it?

Thats the problem with this community...everyone is in for profit...if half the miners actually stopped mining and bought coin with the thousands they would spend on miners then the price would start going up. More buyers instead of miners = upward price pressure and less dumping to fiat from miners = win/win.

Stop feeding the Chinese trolls and actually support crypto.

Yup.

Unless you got literally millions you are not going to be making anything in mining.

Hobby or education sure that is a valid reason to buy miners on the smaller economy of scale say 1 to 30 units let us say.
320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Specifications Revealed [Updated 14/4/15] on: April 30, 2015, 02:46:13 AM
There are tax benefits for purchasing machines over purchasing the coin outright.

Where has Matt gone Terrence? Is he going to reimburse those people he owes?
