981  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 2TH/s, Batch 1 on Sale this week, shipping before Sept. Ends on: September 20, 2014, 01:09:18 PM
Bitmain are probably waiting for the Btc price to rise back to $450 before they announce pricing and specs.

Ironic that by mining with the equipment themselves and selling on the majority of coins mined in there super farms they are devaluing the coins. Would probably make more money by having smaller mining operations themselves and selling the stock to the public, as at least most home miners tend to hold onto a percentage of coins mined, which in turn helps to add upward pressure onto the Bitcoin price.

yeah but greed is tough and getting 3 eggs from the goose each day instead of 2 eggs is very tempting.

They are selling geese and eggs now?

 Huh
982  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Bicknellski's Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: September 20, 2014, 11:24:53 AM
More Technobit woes. One more reason not to buy from them.

Well Marto, I see you are online, why no comments on the out of order shipping, how can you ship batch 2 orders from 3 weeks old? What have you shipped so far, from MS' pictures it looks not even 25 to the USA?

Because he need to set up his own farm and cloud hashing first to recoup from the losses of buying ALOT of parts to manufacture the boards?
Martin got paid in chips, remember?  Roll Eyes

BULLSHIT. I paid in full. No conversion, no who's in inline shit. I paid straight up for 50. Got the PSU's, breaker boards, fans, all that. Converted half my breaker box to 240... and still nothing. 4 weeks my ass.

I should have had 50 boards here, yet difficulty is up another 20% yet again.

Marto... please, and I beg you deliver. Timeline for this venture is running out. Sad

And BFL rumors of a raid. One more reason not to buy from BFL.

I understand that there may be a large contingency of people who do not believe what I posted earlier or will not believe it until they see it in the news or a government agency confirms it. But I hold in my hands a 33 page ex parte temporary restraining order filed by the FTC against BFL on 9/18/14 that names three individuals associated with BFL in it, specifically. I am not releasing it at this time for two reasons: 1) the person who gave it to me hasn't given me the permission yet, 2) it says "*Sealed*" on the bottom of the page next to the case number. I believe the fact that it is sealed is the reason government agencies have not commented on it at this point.

I went by BFL for the first time in a year today to see what was going on as well after I heard the news and I didn't see any agents, however I have received confirmation this afternoon from another completely independent source who was scheduled to have a meeting with BFL today before it was abruptly cancelled who went by and ran into agents there. This other source is a reliable and established name in the Bitcointalk forum and they can back up my claim publicly if they wish to, but I am not pushing them. I know what I have seen and heard from my sources and people can believe what they want until it is officially confirmed.

As to what Tech... is posting is all 100% factually true, I cannot be completely sure. I can confirm that Tech... is former BFL, just as I am. Tech..'s initial info from the same sources from whom I received my info, since my source told me that they had also spoken with Tech.... Nobody is pulling your legs here. This shit happened. Now, the US Marshals KC office was denying any connection to this action at least as of 4:30 pm CST, but they may have had reasons to withhold that info temporarily. I'm not too familiar with the US Marshal Service's protocol. Still, they entered the office around 10 am CST, and had employees leave all computers and any other equipment, files, and basically whatever wasn't personal property. They interviewed employees, too. I won't go into the nature of those interviews as reported to me, since I'm sure all of that will be disclosed in the case ahead. There have supposedly been two arrests. I believe there is at least one additional warrant at this, and it will be rather hard to serve.

There's a group of BFL ex-pats who, while employed at BFL, believed that company was doing things in so many wrong ways that it was difficult to keep count. IF you voiced dissent (and god could I tell you stories - I'm somewhat combative, which Tech.. can attest to, if he figures out who I am lol), your days were numbered. Tech... and I were not the best of friends, but got on well, and had at least some level of respect for each other. Tech... isn't the type to jump on and feed the community a bunch of bullshit. Sure, I've seen some ranting  and venting, and maybe even some posts that were written without the backing of solid info, but those are few.

This is no bullshit. BFL is being taken to task.

Black Arrow and Minersource more disappointments.

Well I can confirm that I invested a lot more than 10k with BA through Minersource. Currently I have tried to work out something with Minersource but they have stopped responding to my messages. I will probably end up suing Minersource if they don't get their act together.

If there are any other people in the same situation as myself - please contact me, thank you.

Sue Minersource for what exactly? Im pretty hes even more screwed than everybody else, cause it was this guy's main business. He will likely be declaring bankruptcy, at least we can just write it off.

In other news, Black Arrow responded to an email yesterday saying they cant ship my miner because they had to recall the power supplies, which I am aware of, but does anybody know if I just ask to receive it without a power supply installed will they ship to me as is?

Its an expensive paperweight, a novelty item which Im planning on keeping as a testament to my own hubris.

Well you see, to start because they have not refunded me a dime and I have asked for a refund in June. They did offer me some BTC Garden miners but that was not a viable option for me due to space and power requirements (my X3 order was to be hosted with Minersource).

Then it would be the small matter of BA refusing to honor (according to MS) some of the promotions they have ran in the past that were part of my contract with Minersource. They didn't bother letting me know - maybe because they conveniently forgot or they were just afraid I would have asked for a refund right away since not keeping your promises is a clear indication of a shady company - once they have your money they suddenly forget all the promises/promotions/deadlines, etc.

And third, because they have stopped communicating and therefore how can you expect any amiable resolution with someone that doesn't even want to communicate with you?
983  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs (BFL) raided today by U.S. Marshalls 9/19/14 on: September 20, 2014, 08:20:07 AM
I doubt very much that BFL is insolvent. I just received my bonus Monarch on Wednesday (shipped Monday). And I also received a BTC refund on Monday for the balance of my original order.

Hardly sounds like they aren't at least trying to ship and/or refund which you would expect if they were going out of business.

I'm just saying if they played the books correctly...any losses would be BFL losses...any xfer of equip or assets to EMC miner pool could be listed as
xfered but *unpaid* ..mine with them a bit ...give them back to BFL ....games could be played if they have legit reciepts for miners sold on the
inside....well if the paid for the miners even if they jumped the que as employees or investors by 6 months to a year...they could do that

then when it all goes to sh*t....BFL the corporation for bad loans or selling equip at cost to insiders/investors/employees way way before us
could claim they were independent

also all that pre-order money they are giving back ..my suspicion is a lot of it was used on the nimbus mining pool etc....they had a year
to hash with this pre-order money in various cloud mining operations...again if they bled it off the main company BFL....and they did it
correctly and BFL goes under (bankrupt) and takes the fall...all personal assets and other corp assets like EMC and hashing etc outside
of BFL would get washed....it would look slippery as hell...but with BFL they could claim a long track record of being 'stupid' rather then
criminal etc

ie like the bankers in the banking crisis...only 1 guy went to jail..and that is because he felt guilty....even thou all the actions of the bank
for a period of years ONLY  helped the individuals running it...not the bank that was insolvent

now truthfully I don't think the folks at BFL are this smart nor would their ego allow failure etc....BUT they could have pulled
(or tried) to pull something off like this..moving assets around on the claim of bad business decisions etc

just gives me the hebbie jebbies to think that such a plot ...(hey were stupid not crooks!) the line that our monarch product was SOOOOO
cutting edge ...oops we failed....and BFL takes the fall as a corporation on all the bad derisions (for the corp) ....but all the good results
go to EMC Pool ...the pre-order money mining for say 1 year on Nimbus and personal miners for themselves mining as they stalled for a
year with our pre-order money

if I was an Evil Genius..that is how I woulda played it internally for the last year with all that nice slushy.....pre-order cash and no refunds
and all the access to equip ahead of everyone else..either by purchase (with receipt to show bona fides later) or more risky as a 'testing purposes
loan"

anyway like I said they are likely just Evil and not Evil Genius's but hey ......just saying......In that even more of a puzzle then the above is
HOW the mangaged to not ship ANY product less then 9 months late since at least nov/dec 2012!

so in reflection of how long they have been doing this...the above fiction I just wrote on BFL Corp looks a little more real/scary imho

again I'm likely wrong just gives me the hebiee jeebies thinking about such a possible end game ...where the lose the battle over BFL
going bankrupt but win the war personally

again just hopefully telling nightmare stories here

BFL ain't good enough or smart enough to hide it and the forensics employed will root them out and expose anything they have done to try and cover their tracks. The problem with their cute little scheme to defraud people is that they defrauded a lot of people. Meaning there will be some government agency with the power, the means and the budget to end their cute little scheme full stop. Their attempts to "hide" BTC or $$$ as BTC or property is not going to absolve them of their responsibility to make people whole. Here is hoping that these claims are in fact true and that the government has indeed made BFL a serious target for investigation. It would not surprise anyone here that these claims by the 'former BFL employee' are in fact true.

BFL may think they have covered their tracks and others may think they have covered their tracks but I doubt that anyone at BFL has the intelligence of or the resources available of these government agencies who are hopefully perusing this in earnest now. This is what was expected now let us hope it is finally coming to an end.
984  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 18, 2014, 05:05:05 AM

It does not matter. There's no global warming Smiley by far, the cheapest reliable source of electricity is nuclear .. until someone invents something to collect it from thin air ..

Isnt hydro power heat neutral?  The potential energy has to go somewhere whether they open the bypass sluice gate full or feed to the turbines/generator full, and as we know the miners output is also all heat.

Adam

Umm no. Snuclear ain't all that.
Nor is hydroelectricity, nor coal or wind.

The Sustainocene: era of personalized energy: Daniel Nocera at TEDxCaFoscariU

If it ain't personal it is going the wrong direction. Energy needs to be democratic.

Nice to see some twerking of the heatsink going on there SPTech loved to see the results of those tests.

Glad I bought SP30s and S2s. Both have broken even or will give me return on my initial investment. Monarchs? Glad I respected the rating system that is in place here. Following it saved me the negative consequences of ordering from BFL. I bet there are 100s more people that have taken the rating here and done the same.

It works. You can argue the semantics all you like. We all know that using that BFL rating when making a decision to avoid BFL, and companies like BFL, is the right choice and has already saved people money and frustration. The only reason Inaba is here is to cause issue with that effectiveness to sow doubt and confusion and Squeak is certainly adding to the uncertainty and confusion shame on him. Fortunately, Dogie is really beyond reproach even if there are disagreements about his methodology it still works very well with regards to helping consumers AVOID BFL and those who use the BFL playbook of lies and deceit.
986  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: September 17, 2014, 08:52:23 AM

Love the way they show it without the required power supply next to it!  Wouldn't look so good with all the wires all over the place. LOL

To be fair... Got both my Monarchs and the refund so congrats to BFL for actually doing what they said they would do...  As you can appreciate, there are many other ASIC manufacturers that have really crapped on the customers... I, unfortunately am one of them to a few companies and BFL has done me total justice compared to any of the other suppliers.

Obviously there is no possible way of making the amount of money that was planned but I'm happy that the loss has been reduced significantly.

P.S. Will never, ever, ever, ever pre-order ever, ever, ever again !!!  So sad... What a shame!!

er..you kept two monarchs and got refunds on some others? is that what you ment

(refunds from BFL I got one back in may I think it was...the mind still boggles)

anyway good for you

myself I MAY pre-order again..but would have to be someone like www.spondoolies-tech.com with a proven HISTORY and then again
all their pre-orders are really about 6 weeks they make most in shop...but even at their timeline and prices it is a no brainer.....no home
miner can make it now imho...not even spondoolies which seems fairly agressive in price..not at these BTC rates

then again I ordered a Titan just before KNC went to the Dark Side and BFL'd itself.....FrankenJupiter's etc

$$$ corrupt is the lesson learned here

Be careful Searing...using BFL's name in that context will get you Inaba'ed  Cheesy Cheesy

He's raising a stink with Dogie about the poor rating he gave BFL  Cheesy

Guess Joshy boi will try to buy Dogie out to get that rating upped  Cheesy

   .!.. BFL & Joshy boi !!!!  Cool

He tried blackmailing him with faux ratings so I guess a bribe is next... maybe they can just BUY OUT Dogie's account. They have done it before.

For you maybe and Josh.

For the majority we know the score.

Bitmaintech simple choice over BFL.

No one is buying BFL for a reason. That reason is they have yet to ever deliver on time, to specification or provide refunds according standard FTC practices.
988  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beastlymac - scammed me for 3.1 btc - gridseeds group buy on: September 17, 2014, 06:17:23 AM

numerous times i been confirming my id to beastymac, together with signed messages from my btc wallet, ip numers, email, ect. i was ignored.

Liar. Guys full of shit.

Stand by my statement. You LIE and you are sack of shit.

Both of you are sacks of shit and you both lie.

he also said 2 days after that he prefer refund due to customs fear.

and you have asked for payment proof
he gave it to you

and you entered silence scam mode.

that sums up you and your mentality

So your brother lied. He is now trying to force me to send him money by blackmailing my account. You are also involved in the blackmail.

What sums it up is.
Your brother ordered on the 5/2/2014 and when orderingm accepted the terms of the groupbuy that meant he was not elidgible for a refund after the order was sent for processing.

7/2/2014 curiousminer order sent for processing

Everything after this does not change the above. Your brother is not elidgible for a refund. You tried to force me to give you my personal information. You tried to blackmail me and you are trying to extort money from me. That is all proven in this thread and is the justification for the feedback I have left on your account and for my signature.

And at that point I feel since the accusing party is bring out no new information that this case has come to a conclusion and that my side of this issue in relation to the blackmail, extortion and slander will be covered in a seperate thread. If anyone would like to contact me in relation to this accusation I would ask you pm me as it is unlikely I will answer if it is posted here.

Regards, Beastlymac

The facts have been proven I have upheld and not broken the rules your brother agreed to. You having the audacity to call anyone else unprofessional in this situation is a joke as you and your brother have lied you have also attacked me personally and you have been impolite towards members of the community who have tried to assist in resolving this matter.

I say release the information and put these two quacks on notice their scams won't be tolerated. There is nothing in debating this situation. There was no scam they admitted it.

Better is put them on ignore and let it go. Given that they have lied and continue to lie they can be safely ignored moving forward.

I would suggest you use only self-moderated threads in future though Beastly they seem to be stocking all your threads now. Sick people.

990  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 17, 2014, 05:20:18 AM
As far as I know this sort of direct wiring from the fuse panel to the outlet is no different on a european panel than it is on either a 2-phase 120/240V or 3-phase 120/208V breaker panel.
What can I say? You are just an ignorant idiot. I even provided the links describing the differences between UK and US electrical wiring.

I'm all for capitalism and transfer of capital from stupid people in "old world" to smart people in "new world".

But what is now happening here is a sort of homicide/suicide pact done over the web forum. A homicide on the part of idiot giving the advice. Suicide on the part of idiot willing to follow the advice. It is a significant step beyond simple transfer of capital.

Thus far the worst occurrence related to Bitcoin mining was one guy suffering heat-stroke or brain-stroke after falling asleep in his very hot bedroom filled with mining equipment.

What is happening here (if followed literally to completion) will quite probably end in actual injury or death of boscocoin. The libertarian in me isn't really against it, if boscocoin has a death wish then let him fulfill it. But it may be a bad marketing for Spondoolies if boscocoin kills himself trying to install their miner.  So I'm somewhat torn ethically. On one hand I'm not really against ruthless people (like bobsag3 and klondike_bar) ripping off naive people. But when the ruthlessness moves into potential death-causing misadventures, I think I'm ethically obliged to raise an alarm.

I'll wait for the comment from the Israeli people who manage this thread.

+1

Safety first always people. Listen to the warnings please. If you are new to mining and do not know what you are doing please find some mentor locally to help you through this especially a licensed electrician for any electrical modifications. Do not ignore what 2112 is saying here he has your best interest and your safety at heart.

Quick, pull a Garr255 and delete it and pretend it wasn't you, then accuse ME of having sock puppets!

Lol, sorry to disappoint you Inaba, but Bicknellski and me are two totally different people.  You can check the join dates, post history, trust records etc.  We don't write the same at all!   Cheesy

I have nothing against you or your company on a personal level.  I mean BFL's track record speaks for itself.

I am Chuck Bick not Chuck Buck.... simple mistake.

Go ahead you first.

Seems you never answered. Here is something to debate.

Bitmaintech vs. BFL where would you put your money?

Wonder why that would be a hard question to answer?

====

Monarch Customer vs. S1, S2 or S3 Customers over the past 12 months... can we do the comparisons?

No debate required.

I'm not here to debate company vs company, and don't have any experience with Bitmaintech in any event.

At this point, I'm just watching the existing debate that you earlier said there isn't.

=squeak=

LOL.

No debate as I said.

Enjoy the thread.

A thread that RATES EACH COMPANY INTO A LIST TOP TO BOTTOM.

Hahaha. Oh boy.

There is no difference between a 33% and Do not Buy.

BFL should be avoided simple as that. There is absolutely no debate on that point.

995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Freicoin, demurrage and spending vs hoarding on: September 16, 2014, 01:01:04 PM
Has anyone taken a look at the insane spike FRC/XBT had last year? http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/v2/pair/frc/btc/cryptsy/alltime There is actually a powerful buy and hold strategy here. Buy FRC, hold until a XBT/USD boom where one sells at say a 4000% profit gross in terms of XBT. After demurrage of say 10% for a little over a two year hold the profit in terms of XBT is only 3990%.

Will it happen again?

Hmmm.

It isn't personal.

It is business.

Who would you buy from?

Bitmaintech or BFL?

Simple Bitmaintech everytime.

There is no debate.

This isn't personal it is simple consumer advocacy.

If you want to get screwed buy BFL.
If you want to get something in 3 days buy Bitmaintech.

Am I lying?
Your recent postings, betray your "it isn't personal" claim.

=squeak=

Are you answering the question?

BFL vs Bitmaintech

Answer

Bitmain...

You don't have to be PERSONAL to make a simple smart choice.

Right?

Has nothing to do with the fact that BFL lies and fails miserably to deliver every time it builds something. That is fact not emotion or personal. It is the truth.

Seriously would you buy BFL?

No you wouldn't that is just smart.

Why you need to even put a number on BFL at this point seems to cause more problems.

Simply relegate them to the DO NOT BUY FROM section as there are many other reputable places to buy from. Problem solved. Less work. No need to bother with them given they can't produce anything viable. No one is buying a Monarch are they?
997  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: September 16, 2014, 11:36:58 AM
You've let it get personal, Bicknellski...

You've turned rabid, frothing at the mouth at anything BFL does, any objectivity you may have is out the window.

It isn't about whether I would recommend BFL or not. I was one of the pre-orders, who ended up feeling let down when I finally got my kit over a year later, and ended up taking a loss in the end.

Those are the breaks in mining. I'm not their friend, or advocate. This has nothing to do with how I personally feel about them. This is about the objectivity and integrity of the list, and its perceived anti-BFL bias in the rating system itself.

Change BFL to another company which I have had no business with, and I would still feel the same way... in fact, I would probably feel even stronger since I wouldn't have the personal animus with the other company that I have with BFL...

... but this isn't about my personal feelings about BFL, but about the integrity and objectivity of the list... and I don't trust it, as they made it personal, and not objective.

Understand?

=squeak=

Am I lying?

No.

Is it personal.

No.

Are BFL a bunch of lying sacks of shit?

Not really debatable if you have read what others have posted about them for the past 2 years. There is evidence right here in the forums go read it.

Seriously what is the point of even entertaining the notion of buying from BFL when you have 4 or 5 alternatives all shipping in reasonable time factors to specifications at half the price or lower?

Are you serious?

Come on let us be brutally honest.

There is no one right now that would put money on a Monarch over anything that Bitmaintech puts out right now.
998  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: September 16, 2014, 11:33:02 AM
Anyone out there want to recommend BFL?

Anyone?

Thought not.

No one should be giving Inaba or BFL any slack. There is nothing in their pattern of business that is redeemable at this juncture. It is clear they are crap and buying anything from them means nothing more than waiting for a refund or 12 months for a product that is way overpriced.

How does that jive with a 33%. Please. Just make it simple. Do not buy from BFL ever. No one gets hurt. No one loses money again.
999  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: September 16, 2014, 11:18:06 AM
Dude.

Bottomline.

Would you recommend ANYONE buy from BFL?

If you do then you are seriously not really helping anyone in this community.

Cut the crap let us just get to the point.

BFL has for the past 2 years or more lied and stolen from members of the community. There is no scale that Dogie can build that would be fair to BFL unless it was simply a DO NOT BUY WARNING on them. They do not even belong in the same class as the companies that actually ship to customers to the specifications and dates that they give. They are basically a scam nothing more or less than that along with about 40% or more of all fabricators. Spin the numbers how you like there are only a handful of choices and you need not debate that.

... Inaba should be ignored and given his lies and threats to people in this community he doesn't even deserve mention nor does BFL.

Sorry for posting here but Inaba and BFL should be dropped from any list that gives them any quarter that could be interpreted as positive.

Monarch? Late? Still not shipped? Please this is a joke. How many times does BFL get a chance to do this again?

They have proven time and time again to be one of the LEAST trustworthy companies in mining. There really is no debate on their next product release right? It would be late. It would be mined by others before it is shipped. It would be an enormous blindspot for anyone to purchase anything from them to help perpetuate that company.

... no one seems to fighting for those who lost a lot of money when they play games with rating systems like this. There is only one recommendation based on the evidence. DO NOT BUY FROM BFL EVER.

As much as I hesitate to agree with Inaba, he does have a point...

When I was first going through the list, and saw that you were using BFL as one of your rating points, any thought about objectivity about this list went out the window.

Keeping the list is an important thing for people to be able to compare how a company has performed, but only if it is objective.

It appears that the maintainer/administrator of the list has a personal axe to grind and is using the list to do it with, and sorry, but that gives your list as a whole, a lower ethics rating than you probably want it to have.

There is no question that BFL has earned itself a lot of bad karma with the community in the past, but the way the list digs specifically at BFL, it makes it appear that no matter what BFL does to make things right and improve their image, they will never be able to raise their reputation as far as the list is concerned.

Guys... your list suffers by doing this. Be objective.

If anything it points to the limitations of the system in that it gives BFL a higher rating that it deserves given the millions they have stolen from people. Let us not forget that fact.

There is nothing in what BFL stands for as a company that would warrant a positive number on any scale or system. They are an abject failure as a company and to agree with Inaba with regards to giving BFL a "fair" shake? Pardon me but where was that fair shake for their customers the past 2 years? Seriously... when do customers get the benefit of proper and timely refunds, honest specifications and a company that rectifies their customers problems. If that is the scale we use then BFL gets a failing grade on all accounts. This is just funny that anyone would argue that BFL needs to be given the same scale to measure them on. At this point their failures should remove them from any scale and a big red warning label applied DO NOT BUY FROM BFL EVER is all that needs to be said. Right? I think everyone except Inaba will agree with that assessment.
