401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 21, 2023, 01:14:45 PM
I believe the most recent ranking from BoxRec should be taken into consideration. Currently, John Riel Casimero holds the top position, with Marlon Tapales following in second place. This situation indicates that Inoue has a significant challenge ahead – facing Casimero – to demonstrate that he truly deserves the title of the best, rather than just relying on his record and not giving what the fans what they want to see.

https://boxrec.com/en/ratings?country=PH&division=Super%20Bantamweight&offset=0&role=box-pro&sex=M

This is already a locked bout so I guess it's too late to hope for a Casimero - Inoue any time soon. Tapales is an OK fighter, but may receive a beating from the Japanese boxer known for his speed and powerful lefts. Also, BoxRec isn't an 'official' organization that boxing orgs should reference to.  There's just a lot of possible angles that both camps can use in order to set the fight or avoid it.

As you can see, all those names are Filipino, so we can somehow say that those rankings are just based on power and recent fights which is believable because Casimero indeed holds a tough position over Tapales, it's just that the latter is the champion right now that is why he is the one who will be facing Naoya Inoue for the undisputed fight that could put Inoue towards history for being the second boxer next to Crawford to achieve two undisputed titles, considering that the Japanese monster pull this off successfully.

Yeah, but I disagree though, I mean Tapales is a world champ right now, and so how come Casimero is the top rank Filipino when he doesn't have any belt at 122 lbs and just have like 2 fights, one in a controversial win, and the other fight that he should have won in a knockout but he wasn't about to?
While Tapales is also on winner streak and then won over against a tough Akhmadaliev?
And so it's misleading at least for me to see Casimero on top of the super bantamweight for Flipinos, it should be Marlon Tapales hands down, no hate to John Riel as I'm a fan but that's not right to put him on top of the rankings there.

It's quite confusing because the rankings doesn't really make any sense to me, but if you look at it closely, you can see that their record and their last couple of fights were the main factors why and it's the only factor I can see why John Riel Casimero is on the top spot and not Marlon Tapales when in-fact it's the latter who made a successful run on their present weight class and not the other way around.

Nevertheless, this shouldn't be a big deal to us because it doesn't represent anything and if you're that someone who is truly a boxing fan, you might've know already that boxrec is not an organization who holds the official tally's of rankings per division.
402  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Navigating Bitcoin's Price Plunge: What Awaits Next? on: August 20, 2023, 09:38:36 AM
We’ve always seen bitcoin bounce back after its price fall. Perhaps the price would go lower than $25k this time but eventually after couple or days or a month, it will recover again and may find its way reaching $30k instantly and from there, we may start to see another good price resistance. However, everything we forecast here remains a prediction until we start seeing it turns into reality. So let’s all be patient while witnessing how bitcoin moves unpredictably. After all, it won’t settle for anything less but a new all time high that we’ve all been waiting for to happen.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: August 18, 2023, 11:12:52 AM
Opinion One, a few people called Professional Gambler take gambling as a job for a living. These people have the skills to make that happen. My scheme is working on that. But it looks like so scam to many dudes, so you judge it on your own risk.

Yes, we do have those kind of job these days who are independent enough to live from gambling and indeed, only few have managed to do that because that road is never been easy. We can say that many have tried but only selected ones are gutsy and confident enough to see what's on the road beyond our sight. But regarding that, I don't really agree that they are taking gambling as their main faucet of income because nobody in the right mind is going depend on that, alone, as their primary source. That is why I still think that they have some ventures on the sides or investments that gave them sufficient funds to continue their gambling activities as a professional gambler where profits aren't guaranteed.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 18, 2023, 06:21:49 AM
I still do not think that Houston is the right place for neither Embiid nor Harden. Houston shouldn't accept that, yes I understand you would instantly become a team that would be in playoffs right away, and even have a chance to battle it out and go very far. However, that would be only for a few years and not for too long neither, Embiid is getting older and Harden is already at is descend as well, he is not the Harden he used to be at Rockets anymore.

Rockets are building a team that's about to grow together and be well, look at their roster, most of their players are young and if they grow together they could be very good together in the future. Maybe they won't be able to hold all of them together, but they do look good.

That is why the Houston Rockets aren't even bothered by the speculations because they know that it will be a total waste of time and money too if they will try and allocate both Embiid and Harden into their roster because both may be useful enough but just like you said, that will not be for long as both of them is starting to decline specially Harden. Also, it will be a hefty trade for the Rockets if they will try and they will surely regret it if they will.
405  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 17, 2023, 12:01:55 PM
Secret are vital information If when expose will spoil one's reputation. Privacy is entirely what we want to do or have already done without drawing attention to ourselves or others. To be a bit more specific, not everyone knows how to keep a secret to oneself. People will always undermine one's advancement schedule, even if given the slightest opportunity. We all have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to gambling. My gambling behaviors are something I keep to myself, and it is one of my secrets, which only a few of my close friends are aware of.

I share with your sentiment because it's not something that we're supposed to be open with in the first place because often times, if not all of the times, people will always connect negativity towards gambling and we cannot blame them for that because they also have a point but that's not the whole point as when they will find out that you're gambling secretly, just expect that they will use the term "addict" on you as that's how it is on their perspective. We may or may not want to be judged, it is still better for us to keep it ourselves and only share it to few selected people that will understand us, preferably gamblers as well because they do know the feeling, except to our own family because they have every right what we are doing.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 17, 2023, 06:36:24 AM

What they are saying was just a pure nonsense because they just made it look like they were neighbors when in-fact they aren't, just a neighboring state but not literally neighbor that you could just knock from your home within a matter of minutes. And if I'm not mistaken, Elon Musk do actually have a home that is situated in Texas but he doesn't live in it because he only sleeps in SpaceX headquarters and made himself a little room there to sleep for a few hours before working again.
So what if he had knocked on Marks door? Then what?

People are really just putting too much attention with these kind of words but we cant really deny that even though these things turns out to be nonsense but surprisingly the public does really love
on how things been going. Even it is really just that clear that this one is indirectly trying out to showcase their company and some developments or whatsoever which they did make out
that having some mix of little trolling. They are really just that make a fun of the community.  Tongue

Well, I guess we cannot really blame the public if some of them are loving the idea because if this will happen, it will be the first time where two billionaires will have a physical fight in front of the public and not behind closed doors despite the fact that they don't have any valid reasons in making the fight into reality.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 17, 2023, 04:38:18 AM
Though we don't have any update yet and maybe they are still trying to continue hyping this drama to make sure that there are people who
will continue to buy and support the possible rematch.

Till then, all will continue to be another speculation if rematch will take place and if Paul will accept the challenge in another types of fight.

Maybe they will have to talk about the rematch after a couple of weeks. Most likely they are just enjoying their vacation but for sure if there is demand for this fight to happen again, they can definitely sit down and talk about it, and most likely how much Nate is going to received and stakes and what will be the storyline to make it more attractive than the first fight.
They are possibly talking about a rematch because of the big success of the fight. They can reflect for a while. Is the rematch still necessary? For me, and I'm sure most fans would agree, a rematch is not necessary. It's very clear who won the fight; it was obvious that Jake Paul dominated the match, and Nate Diaz was only focused on surviving, not winning. It's no longer enjoyable; it seems like Nate is intentionally putting himself at risk for the money. So, where's the value they will provide to the fans?

Well, if the said rematch will be made inside the boxing rin again then there is no need for it to happen because it was already evident that Nate Diaz coudln't defeat Jake Paul and there will be no difference at all even if the latter will be given a chance because he is not real boxer to begin with.

But since a rematch inside the octagon has surfaced, people are now attracted to it and that is one of the few reasons why we are still talking about this as it is more interesting rather than a boxing fight, and Jake Paul will have a chance to bounce back and redeem himself from the recent loss he had. I mean who wouldn't want a redemption fight?
408  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We're all the same! on: August 16, 2023, 09:29:18 PM
That's simply because of human nature. Now our only goal is to not fall into the same pits that people in the past have fallen onto.

Though unfortunately for the most of us, experience is the best teacher. That's not necessarily bad though; as long as you jump back up and try again.
I agree on your point but let’s also consider that every human being has its unique characteristics. But we share the same goal at the end of the day. Although losses are still inevitable no matter how we’re good at combatting with it, but if we learn to fight without quitting and regretting, perhaps all of us will still end up being successful. Same like trading, it does not matter how much and how often you lose, as long as you tend to correct your mistakes everytime by not repeating the same mistakes again.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 16, 2023, 02:34:02 PM
I’m not sure I understand the point of the in-season tournament but I did just see a suggestion that the winner of the tournament get an automatic playoff berth. That’s interesting…

I’m more 76ers updates from Philadelphia, James Harden is now saying he’s open to play for a different team than just the Clippers. He wants out…

I have heard about that as well but it turns out that it was a mere speculation made by someone that the winner of the in-season tournament will have an automatic playoff slot. It would be unfair too to the other teams if that will happen because some teams in the league now have more chances to reach further compared to what they had attained during their run last season.

Anyway, here's the detail of the upcoming in-season tournament and what will they get.

Quote
What do players get for winning?
Another incentive: The players on the winning team will each get $500,000, while the runners-up will get $200,000. The losing players of the semifinals will each get $100,000, and the losing players of the quarterfinals will each get $50,000.

Will anyone earn individual honors for their play in NBA Cup games?
There will be a Most Valuable Player award for the in-season tournament, as well as an all-tournament team.

Will this have any impact on the playoffs?
No. While there was some debate among league insiders about guaranteeing a playoff berth as a reward for winning the tournament, ultimately that idea -- or any other to further incentivize teams -- was not enacted. The only playoff impact will come from the wins and losses accrued throughout the tournament.

410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 16, 2023, 01:28:32 PM
@harizen. On Tapales, what legacy? We should be honest, he is a good boxer but he has no potential to be something similar to Pacman or Inoue. I speculate that he might also lose if Casimero was given an opportunity to fight him.

Everything is business for Tapales. He knows Inoue wants to create a boxing legacy and he cannot have this if he cannot get the WBA and IBF championships. Inoue should pay the right amount.

Also, if Tapales will decide not to fight Inoue, I wish it would be Casimero and also wish that Casimero would win hehehehhee. Inoue vs. Casimero would be another fight the boxing fans would consider something like a superfight.

The misunderstanding between Tapales and Inoue already favors Casimero, as either boxer could face Casimero as their challenger. So, perhaps Casimero is content with the situation, as it could expedite his chance to be in a championship fight. First, Tapales vs. Casimero, and then Casimero vs. Inoue – that's a promising journey. It would enhance Casimero's reputation if he were to defeat his fellow boxer and dethrone him, given that the scenario were to unfold. I'm quite optimistic that it could occur, provided Inoue ruin the possibility of that unification fight against Tapales.

Whatever happens, the excitement remains because Casimero is always there to add to the thrill. Currently, he is the only boxer that people believe stands a chance against Inoue or can at least give him a challenging fight. So, it wouldn't surprise me if Casimero is still the favorite if he becomes a challenger to Tapales.

If that fight will happen, I would surely bet towards Casimero and not Tapales because I believe he can do a good job against Inoue if both of them will be the ones who will face for the unification. Not to underestimate Tapales but I don't really think that he stand a chance against the moster, Naoya Inoue. Might be harsh though but that is the truth and people will be more interested on that instead of the match-up we have now.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 16, 2023, 06:32:02 AM
In case some of guys don't know the fight rules of this bout, here's some of its details:

The fight will be conducted under standard boxing rules, marking a unique showdown between two formidable fighters from different disciplines.

Although no titles will be at stake, the fight will be scored by three judges using the 10-point must system. Over ten rounds of three minutes each, the fighters will battle it out in the ring.
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/boxing/tyson-fury-vs-francis-ngannou-27303785

I head as well that Francis Ngannou tried to suggest and submit to the committee that both of them should use grappling gloves (the ones that are used in MMA fights) but it was rejected because this fight will be fought in the boxing ring and will be under the boxing rules, just like what the article is saying above.

Also, it shocked me to know that Francis Ngannou has been waiting for this bout for three years now and did really targeted Tyson Fury. So we can say that this storm has been already cooking for quite some time and that tells us that Ngannou will be prepared once both of them will commence their dance showdown in the ring.
412  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is all what they say about bitcoin true? on: August 15, 2023, 09:54:21 PM
As a newbie on this forum, for some days now I have been going through threads, reading and trying to understand and getting better knowledge on every single one of them
In a thread someone said "Bitcoin is not all about happiness" can a little more light be thrown on this?
That’s the reality with bitcoin. No matter how profitable it is on the eyes of majority, we can never deny that it can also be a source of our worst disappointment and failure in life. By investing all in, if you’ll end up in profits, then probably you will end up feeling your worst loss ever. That’s the reason why we should take calculated risk in bitcoin, and never invest more than our means. It could be our source of joy, but with one blink of an eye, it could be our worst nightmare.
413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run: Is It Tied to the Next Halving? on: August 15, 2023, 08:59:11 PM
Every bitcoin halving leaves an impact to all bitcoin investors. And because of the realization that every bitcoin halving makes the market more bullish and profitable, then people will definitely put in mind that whenever there’s bitcoin halving, the next bitcoin bull run will also set to happen. However, we should never close our mind to the possibility that the opposite thing will also happen. As long as the market remains unpredictable, we can never guarantee that the same thing will always happen when bitcoin halving is around.
414  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the market still profitable for new projects? on: August 15, 2023, 08:25:56 PM
Given the crowding of the market with hundreds of new projects and the emergence of new services or companies every day, I think that the number of investors or users of these services does not correspond to this large increase.

So my question is: is this market still profitable for new projects?
The market will also grow along with the huge increase in new projects. And the more new projects that are becoming visible, the number of investors and its users will definitely come to grow. That’s why no matter how saturated the market is, it will never stop from being profitable especially if these new rising projects have huge potentials to grow and develop in the future. Learn the fact that new projects only arise if they still see growing demands from the market itself.
415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: August 15, 2023, 07:16:25 PM
Well, it’s not that all the time the market will favor your trades. If that happens, surely a lot of gamblers would turn into instant millionaires. However, the reality is there are more number of unfavored trading cases compared to successful ones that’s why a lot have been losing than celebrating their gains. But of course, all these losing events have something to do based on how they trade, if they keep on chasing their greed for more profitable trades, or simply because of their wrong attitudes towards trading that make them very unlucky to make profits. But I believe what is certain is that if you don’t follow the basic rules in trading, then it’s hard to expect to end up with successful and profitable trades.
416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As an undergraduate, is it advisable to invest my trustfund in Bitcoin? on: August 14, 2023, 09:59:57 PM
Know your investment first. Bitcoin is not like any other type of investment that you can easily engage as long as you have sufficient capital. You need to do a lot of research first so you will know how to invest it at your own advantage, and how to avoid investing in it at a loss. At the end of the day, your money, your decision rules. But at least you know that you won’t be investing and expect real quick profits. Bitcoin is a long term investment, so learn to wait before you can see significant profits. And lastly, always invest at a small amount most particularly for beginners like you.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin obsession! on: August 14, 2023, 09:41:53 PM
I prefer not to see it as a bitcoin obsession but a bitcoin enthusiast. First, because bitcoin is not overused, but rather it’s properly used as an investment more than a currency. And second, we are not only doing this for the sake of our own greed, but to promote the potentials of bitcoin as well. So perhaps bitcoin enthusiast is way more preferable to use rather than seeing as one’s obsession that anytime could cause mental breakdown.
418  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 14, 2023, 09:00:21 PM
Perhaps this is true for most of the wfh workers as they might be lacking the motivation and interest to work in the first place. Maybe because their compensation may not be well suited enough, or they have personal distractions at home that’s hard for them to focus on their job well and compromise the effectivity of their jobs. While this is not true for some, but perhaps this research is also telling the reality about how inefficient and ineffective some of them that might put the progress of their company at risk.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 11, 2023, 07:27:18 AM
It has always been the core roster management for any team that Lebron has played so far give or take. You get one guy who would be great at rebounding, you get one guy who would be great at defending, and bunch of shooters all around, including bench. That way Lebron can drive inside and either dunk or layup or just pass outside to an open shooter, or Lebron could just straight up shoot when the defense goes deep to defend the drive, he shoots very well at three point line on his later years, and the rebounder will get the rebounds whenever someone misses. The system is always built like this and they have what they need right now. I think they won't be the best team, but if they play right and do not get injured like they always do, they will be fine.
As far as I can remember that core roster was too good during their reign on the 2020 championship but has always me wondering why they easily dissolved most of the players around him. Well, I think Austin Reaves was really the dark horse now on the team good thing he got the advices from Lebron, that kid has confidence and with him, LBJ and Davis I guess that's a fine squad. They extension with Russel and Hachimura and the addition of Vincent, they are likely in a fine tune.

They already show how fine they are for their last season performance and I guess when can see more better from them since they are really now comfortable with recent success they got. The only problem now is how their new addition could blend with their old roster since if they show that they can work with those big guys like lebron and David then can play with their roles we can say that Lakers is a monster team to bet this season.

They need to work that out because Hayes is not that well experienced when it comes to defending the paint and its rim, yes he got the size and height but that will not be enough if he cannot secure their defense properly and AD will be forced to work that out again leaving Lebron instead of having the freedom to chase anyone and contribute to the team's offense being a PF.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 11, 2023, 04:08:36 AM
You've got to give credit to Mike Tyson he is involved with these two fighters one fighter was named after him and he has a close association with the other fighter so getting him involved will add spice to the event, we never know but Mike could be involved in a thrash talk too, you know the Furys they want to hype any events where they are involved so we'll see in the press conferences if there's going to be thrash talks.
But I'm sure people will watch this not only for the boxing but for the dramas that come along with it.

It might turn that Mike will be the one to trashtalk with Fury, because I think Francis English level isnt good enough to parry creative insults and jokes that Fury gonna throw. Fury is a master of making fun of his opponents. And if you are not a native speaker, it will be hard not to lose that battle. How long Francis has been studying English? Probably around 5 years. It will be hard for Francis to parry something like "three piece and a soda" kind of joke.

Haha, I don't believe he's so desperate that he would hire someone solely for the purpose of trash talking. It's possible that his intentions go beyond just that – he might also be seeking insights from Mike Tyson on how to excel in boxing. Considering Tyson's status as one of the greats from the past, this could be a way to gain valuable knowledge. However, time will tell; regardless of their decision, I'm confident it will be geared towards enhancing the upcoming fight. As we can see from the current situation, the fight gained more attention once Mike Tyson's name became involved.

Yes, it is more than that. Iron Mike can do a trashtalk and he can definitely do that by just supporting Francis Ngannou without getting himself directly involved with the camp. But this is different and people are now giving more attention to the bout because they know that Mike can literally do a thing or two to help Ngannou in his bout against Tyson Fury. This is getting interesting folks!
