461  Economy / Economics / Re: In times of war, Gold rises. What about Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2023, 05:43:15 PM
I've seen Gold market prices rising lately as a result of the current Israel-Hamas conflict. However, Bitcoin hasn't experienced any upsurge in price. It's still hovering around the $26k range. Something similar happened during the Russia-Ukraine war.

Is it because investors still don't trust Bitcoin as a store of value? Or is it something else?
Store of value is the only thing that makes bitcoin a lot better, I get that not everyone may see it that way but the reality is that it IS  a store of value and will continue to be so. I think it would be useless to call it anything else. I get that it may not be all that easy to trust it because we have seen the volatility but the volatility is just bigger, not any other way around.

So, when dollar loses value (or your fiat of choice) that would make bitcoin go up and that is why I keep investing into it. I know that bitcoin will be more valuable in the future, gold too, but gold would go up just a little whereas bitcoin will go up a lot. So, always investing into bitcoin is a smart choice and does end up helping your finances. This is why many people prefer gold because they are not aware of how much better bitcoin can be, and that is understandable but yet it is not understandable if you know about bitcoin and you still somehow prefer gold over bitcoin, that would be a mistake.

Bitcoin just proves it can rise in times of war which it just did last night. We are yet in the skirmish wars in different regions there isn't yet a huge war that involves a huge fleet but it seems to be unstoppable this time.

But so is gold though so both of them are like a hedge when the future is very uncertain. But when it comes to being easy to carry and not confiscable by someone, Bitcoin champions it all.

Potential reality of UFC future Cheesy Recent UFC 294 event is a prove that UFC is going into that direction. Makhachev in his recent interview told Dagestani realities. Previously, gyms were full and boys dreamed of becoming wrestling champions. Now gyms are also full, but boys dream of becoming UFC champions. Not the richest region of the world, hardworking and hungry fighters - UFC watch out Cheesy

P.S. I kinda laughed at Tom Bob Cheesy
Dagestani is one of the poorest region of the world, it's hugely subsidized by Moscow, Russia. Khabib is probably their icon right now because of his achievements, then there is Islam. Dagestani people sensed that it's possible to make money and become a star in fights. They grow in mountains, breath fresh air, work physically, are in poverty, they are perfect candidates to become a healthy, strong fighter and lack of money motivates them even more like footballers all around the world.

Lets guys have a small discussion about recent Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury fight. But not about the fight itself, but on the possible changes in UFC or MMA promotion it might cause. Francis has showed, that MMA guys can compete on rather high level against elite boxers. So should we expect fighter migration to professional boxing? Give me your thoughts.
Isn't boxing losing popularity? MMA is new, I think it will become more popular than boxing unless we have a new Mike Tyson who will fight like a hungry and aggressive lion. Probably, right now, we can say that many MMA fighters will ask Dana for a salary raise or more of them will move in boxing because there is a tons of money made there, McGregor showed that, Ngannou showed that.

That's why Dagestanis are swarming the MMA now that they know they can dominate fights and they are not just wrestlers, they can box too.  Khabib is probably just one regular kind of man in their community, he was just given more opportunity and got what he dreamt of in the land of opportunity.

But no. Boxing still is the best sport and this is the sport that one can really use to defend himself from multiple attackers.
Suga Omalley wants to fight Haney in boxing and I think Dana refuses. He will prevent his fighters from following Francis.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs and the 401(k) Dilemma on: November 01, 2023, 05:43:20 PM

It's a hard decision to make when 401k is going to protect you when you get old. It's for your security that you won't end up homeless.

But can't you do both cause it seems like you already are buying BTC and also have plans for your 401k. If you are in doubt because your government may just take your 401k funds somewhere else, then maybe it's a good decision to go dive into BTC after all the fiat will be terribly affected by inflation soon.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: November 01, 2023, 05:19:49 PM

You are too worried about getting addicted, it takes a lot of time before you get into that deep. But if you are that worried, it will only stress you out and it's best not to try further. It defeats the purpose of gambling as entertainment.

Most beginners I think first try that dice game and roulette and after a few days of losing, I'm sure they are also trying out strategies to win as what others are doing.
465  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🍀DAILY $ GIVEAWAY🍀BetHash.io🍀 | $500 WEEKLY RACE |💰Lottery 🎲Dice 🎰Slots on: November 01, 2023, 01:43:55 PM

Welcome back to bitcointalk. Seem a long absence here.
Nothing much has changed about the casino since the time you were busy in the forum. Most casinos nowadays already have sports even the decentralized casinos. is this also in your plans?

source: https://casino.guru/bethash-io-casino-review

 Shocked

Can you explain if this is true or not? if so, can you explain why you are taking this action? let's assume that I had an account at your casino, my balance was 0$ and I was inactive for 1 year does that mean that if I want to get my account back I will have to pay an inactivity fee corresponding to 1 year? In your opinion: is this measure not keeping customers away? why would someone spend 100$ to pay inactivity fee while they can take the 100$ and put it in another casino and play?

Hello! We're a decentralized casino, and our architecture is designed in a way where we provide our players with free EOS accounts, taking care of all CPU,RAM&NET resources. Due to the fact that we have limited EOS accounts, we have a reset system cleaning the inactive for 1-year accounts to make them available again for the new users. This action is automatic. 99.99% of users are not leaving any noticeable amounts on balance, so it's normally never an issue. But of course, there may be players looking to claim a few dollars after a few years of inactivity.

What about the account that is inactive but has been staking HASH still, will it be considered inactive, and when the system purges it, that means his HASH will also be gone?
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not a casual fan but want to participate in sportsbetting on: October 31, 2023, 06:49:33 PM
once an NBA fan somewhat like a casual fan of NBA and wants to bet on matches.

being a fan but not going to do some research about the players and team conditions, how am i going to participate in sports betting specifically on the NBA?
i wouldn't want to just keep following based on the odds. seemingly as a bettor, it requires ramping up on lots of updates and knowledge of the sport and how the team players are doing. how am i to do it?

To answer that directly, you can:

- Flip the coin and rely on your luck
- Follow some NBA tipsters, either from experienced or just a wannabee
- Follow some advice from your friend that knowledgeable about that league
- Refer to some sports website analyzer that gives information on the specific match

It's difficult to place a bet on something you didn't even understand. In sports betting, you don't actually need to do some hard and deep research but to be able to form a self-analysis, you really need to interact with that league regularly. But if you are really lazy doing that, you can choose the last one I mentioned to give you some reference.

Yes and what you have said is also correct. The op can throw (play) the bet and wait for his luck. And what I really wanted to say is that since you  are not a fan of NBA then if I were you, I would not bother myself to play the game because I will not know where to start from and where to go.  So it is to shun the game and play a game that I am familiar with. Because from what I see here, you would not have Fair Play because it not easy to win a game that you don't have an idea.

Before you play a game at least let it be that you have the basic knowledge about the team or the game so that you will know what to bet on. And another thing is that you can be an observer or a spectator in the game to see the outcome of the game and place your bets in the next game when the winning term play again.

Some of us are actually just betting based on the odds and are looking into the picks of someone else who knows the sport a lot. When I started becoming a fan of boxing, I was just reading and watching interviews of boxers on youtube. There are actually forums, particularly for these types of sports which one can also visit.

But here in the bitcointalk itself is enough because there are NBA banters to follow on the NBA threads. When you know how to gamble in one sport, you basically know is all.

467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this how it start? (No or yes?) on: October 31, 2023, 06:35:46 PM

It could be the start. Funding your account twice a day is somewhat new to you and since you noticed it yourself I guess it's not too late to stop. This may just be $20 for now but soon when it gets bigger, the more you want to chase that loss. This is if you want to stop as well.

I wouldn't say you are already an addict. But when you are already hooked, it's when you see you liked it too. Users who invested in casino tokens are more prone to addiction I think.

Nice site. Looks like you are digging into the technical side of BTC which is nice.

You are in the right forum to learn Bitcoin, you just gotta shoot your questions and everyone will swarm into your thread to answer as they will try to be as helpful as possible. The good thing about the forum is you can interact with users and your posts will also allow everyone who reads to learn about it.

Welcome to Bitcointalk

469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 31, 2023, 04:07:51 AM

Ngannou got himself a new fight, by the way, It's Deontay Wilder as his next fight. It wasn't confirmed but he recently answered some questions from an influencer about it to which he confirmed they discussing it with Wilder's camp. It probably just needs a little ironing. Weight and most likely money discussion and it looks like they are still going to be held in Saudi again. You can just hope it's not the same judge.

After knocking down Fury, officially Ngannou is now a boxer.
470  Economy / Gambling / Re: Omada Social Sports: Experience the thrill of sports betting on: October 30, 2023, 09:19:46 PM

Seem not BTC coins they are talking about.
But you can earn money without spending a dime, seems fun to learn what's there. Good place to train yourself to bet on sports though. I would like to install it as well, I'm just not confident when they are saying we don't get to spend any money. It feels too good to be true. Wanna hear more.

471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Profit And Conscience on: October 30, 2023, 09:08:10 PM
The government itself is allowing the lottery games, the people will buy tickets from somewhere else even if he isn't going to be leasing his space. If its offer is good why not rent it and just do your business somewhere else?

Accept it for this lottery agent will find some space nearby anyway and will probably rent the space for less than the offer he gives to your friend. Its all profit and in the next contract the lease will be bigger.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is the cash-out feature only available in sports bets? on: October 30, 2023, 08:43:21 PM

In poker, you can fold your card. That's kind of saving your money but you won't get a percentage back of them.

It doesn't make sense to add a cash-out feature in the in-house games, these are just win-or-lose games you can't just rethink and cancel your bet over dice or baccarat. You are wasting the time of the dealer/house in that case. If they can stomp your head online for doing it, they will.
473  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sent Coin by mistake to wrong address and got them back:) on: October 30, 2023, 03:50:27 PM
Yep its funny someone returned the coins. Hard to believe I guess thats why you find it funny. You are lucky to have sent the coin to someone who has no intention of keeping it. If it's someone else, you'd be posting your rants already.  It is not every day a person receives some coins that they don't expect and for that, they will consider it sent by God.

Are you already expecting the war with Russia or Israel to bomb your house?
I was planning this myself to only hold crypto and just live in a van until everything settled.  But this will be possible if I have no family of your own.

But why give the property to the bank? You can always just make them repossess your property or continue to pay them until it becomes ruins when bombed especially if you live in the conflict region.

It must have been very tedious for a hacker to scan one by one all the images he come across and look into them. He sure expects to find one after all if the app is crypto related he sure will find someone who owns some crypto and installs it.

There are apps that you can't really avoid allowing to have access to your storage. I'm wondering if the hacker can get around when you only allow "while in use" ?
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption in coming years, merchants will be left behind on: October 29, 2023, 03:09:50 PM
We're still struggle in scalability issue, rather than expecting people will use Bitcoin as daily transaction, we need to think what's the solution when the fee reach 100 sat/vbyte lol. Transitioning to lightning network is not yet achieved, if the previous ordinal attack was last longer, everyone would be forced to use lightning network because the centralized exchanges were start accepting LN.

Just like Covid-19 pandemic, it force people to stay in house regardless you're a worker, student etc.

People will still prefer fiat though. And you will too since you have the option. Merchants will turn their BTC into fiat right away upon receiving it in fear of its price that fluctuates every minute. Not even minding that LN.

In the bull market, even Bitcoin users will also be converting their coins to stablecoins to wait for the price to go down. While crypto users have this option, they will always go right back to fiat for they also want to invest once again.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 02:53:40 PM
What an incredible performance by Francis Ngannou against Tyson Fury even though he lost the fight by split decision, Francis Ngannou was able to drop him in the third round and won the round and it was a really close fight than anticipated and the stock of Francis Ngannou just gone up with this performance.

The boxing community will remember this knockdown instead of Fury's split decision win, It is probably Ngannou's biggest achievement, he's fighting a guy who has 20 years of boxing experience and considered the pound-for-pound greatest heavyweight in this era.
I am one of those who do not believe that Ngannou can match Fury power and ring skill but he has proven us all wrong he bet on himself and he won in this fight not on the judges' scorecard but on the heart of the boxing and MMA community..
The match could have gone either way, but a draw should have been scored to avoid complaints because the fight was too close and Ngannou scored a huge knockout

If it was a draw the world would see it as an exhibition. Let it be that way for the people to know it's Francis who won the fight but on record it's Fury.  Of course, there will be a lot of noise, and will be talked about for years.

We can see the frustration on Francis' face when the referee raises the hand of Fury. He sure himself he won the fight and scored in all rounds and he made significant shots in the entire fight.

479  Economy / Economics / Re: why super rich pay no tax but suggest giving all their wealth away (eventually) on: October 28, 2023, 04:00:24 PM

Trump is openly saying this system is rigged. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OjLSTv2hVtE
Debts are not taxable. And all of these rich men are using this same system to get away with it. But those in the low class who don't have any collateral to throw still have to pay a huge percentage for the tax.

Those rich men didn't feel like it was their responsibility to pay taxes. Could it be justified to also not pay tax because we are using BTC?
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 28, 2023, 02:34:57 PM

I'm curious about the odds for the KO by Fury in this fight. Were they at 1.80 or higher?
K.O. bets are probably higher since they're more uncertain and unpredictable.

It's not always the case because there are KO artist boxers with exceptionally high KO rates, which often leads to lower odds for a KO compared to a win via decision. However, it's important to consider the opponent in this equation. In this particular fight, I'm inclined to believe it won't go the distance, as heavyweights are known for their devastating punches, and their size can lead to quicker fatigue. If memory serves me right, KO wins have occurred more compared to win via decision when it comes to the history of heavyweight boxing.

This is very true. When a person weighs 250 lbs, his straight jab is a monster jab that can break a nose. Fury is a KO artist afaik and it's odd for Fury by KO be 1.18
With those odds, it will only be worth it if you gamble a huge amount.

On the other hand, Ngannou is also a huge monster in fact more muscles than Fury, and could also KO Fury give an opportunity. This gives you a choice that is based on your gut feeling. Ngannou by KO is a big profit.
