481  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitmit - Bitcoin shopping mall - Bitcoin market place - Bitcoin auction house on: November 08, 2013, 05:59:16 PM
Now they're not displaying items anymore, even if you search.

This sucks.  I had active auctions with bids that had like 4 days left.  I guess I'll have to delist them now.

I hope the bidders aren't too disappointed, but I don't think it's fair to honor the bids either since ppl can't even view them anymore to place new bids.

Hadn't they previously said that users could continue to purchase items for at least some more days yet?

I also have one unreleased escrow.  It's only 0.111 BTC, but still I'd like to receive it.  I PM'd the buyer, but no response yet.  The item was delivered.

Clean up your past messes before you start making new ones.

Many people believed you would honor the trade-in program, and sent in their FPGAs that they could have kept and mined with, believing they would receive Avalons early, and at a steep discount.

Instead most received nothing.  You STOLE their FPGA boards that they could have been mining with all this time had they not chosen to trust you.

Resolve your old mess before you go making new promises.

Sure looks like ASICMINER blades to me.  The ethernet connections are in the right place and the yellow LEDs are the right color.

My LS paid for itself.

You came out better than most.

Dumb question: Who is CryptX and how are they involved?

Is there a short answer?

I'd look for someone who has an account with Ingram Micro.

Thread topic should reflect 4 @ 10.

I pity the fool who sends y'all BTC on blind faith.

Why John K's

John K. is THE guy to go to for escrow.  Everyone who's been on the forums a while knows that.

You say that as a new vendor you want to build trust.  Accepting purchases using John K's escrow service is a great way to accomplish that IMO.

You don't need to look far to see that John K's reputation speaks for itself.

If you would rather use a different escrow agent I would also be fine with Graet or bitpop.

Will you accept a purchase using John K's escrow service?

If so I wish to purchase 2 units.

Did they ever bring their "preorder marketplace" online?

Not that I have enough risk appetite to try it.
492  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL calling "loyal" customers (from +1-866-723-3108) on: November 07, 2013, 09:04:45 PM
I don't see why anyone would order a Monarch now.  They're advertising 600Ghps for $4680 for Jan/Feb delivery (Nov/Dec delivery is sold out).

I could instead order up a 3-module CoinCraft Desk from bitmine.ch for January delivery for $4349 that promises 600Ghps nominal, and 900Ghps in "turbo mode".

And that's ignoring BFL's history of massively late deliveries.

So....if anyone wants my 20% off coupon code for some purpose, here it is.  It's supposedly good for one week beginning today:

BFL-357829

Do post a reply here please if you successfully redeem it.

Yeah D&T, I was well aware, and made sure I was polite, while still expressing how I truly felt about the products and my experience as a customer.

I said thanks and wished her a nice day at the end of the call.
494  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL calling "loyal" customers (from +1-866-723-3108) on: November 07, 2013, 04:57:32 PM
I got the call too just now.  Same number as volosator reports.

Sounded like a call center.  She said her name was "Marith" I think.

She asked how I felt about my purchases, and I said that the hardware was working fine, but delivery was way too late, and that I wished I hadn't bought them.

She apologized, and asked if I planned to "upgrade" in the future.  I told her "No, I don't have faith that Monarch will be delivered on-time either."

She then gave me a coupon code good for 20% off future orders, and said that the code was good for one week.

What a joke.

I should have asked if the code was transferrable.  Maybe there's a sucker out there who would buy it.

PM me the tracking information please.

Thanks.

Pretty please?
496  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 07, 2013, 03:22:37 PM
Meh.  The Chili plug is somewhat appropriate for this thread, but a plug for a pool is not.  Please remove it.
497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Wow, liars ngzhang starts to post on this forum again. on: November 07, 2013, 03:21:44 PM
Concur.  Avalon, you need to wrap up your existing messes before you start making new ones.

You can start by finishing all of the trade-in orders.  I understand that most of the participants sent in their hardware and never received anything.

Not that a gen-1 Avalon is an appropriate item to send the participants by now.  I think that at this point they should all receive a new 240-chip gen-2 Avalon for each trade-in board, WITHOUT asking for any additional payment.  (Who would even trust you now enough to send anything more?)

Yifu has said that they would receive compensation, but so far those words remain empty, like so many others.
498  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 07, 2013, 02:36:09 PM
In theory I'll be receiving some super-late-delivery chips here soon if Mr. unresponsive seller has indeed shipped them to me.

I assume I'm too late to have y'all put them onto boards for me, yes?

I'll have enough for 10 or maybe 11 Chilis.

Lucko/Form would seem to be my other option, though keeping everything in the states seems like it would be easier.
499  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone in Boston area with AVR dragon programmer? on: November 07, 2013, 03:31:12 AM
You know, I hear you can use a Raspberry Pi's GPIO interface to reflash your BFL hardware instead of an AVR Dragon.

500  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I just discovered Bitmit is closing down on: November 07, 2013, 01:45:33 AM
This really sucks.  IMO, bitmit was one of the best things going for the bitcoin economy.  I used it a lot, both buying and selling.

It was a hell of a lot less cumbersome than ebay.

I sure hope the pending closure is just because it got to be to much hassle for the owner to run, and that a more capable party purchases it and keeps it going more or less without interruption.

I know it has had a lot of downtime lately.  Also, the staff have to deal with judging and resolving every trade dispute that comes up.  Plus I'm sure it was a big target for penetration (holding all those coins), and DoS attacks.  All of which == a big PITA.

FWIW, I was able to login and successfully withdraw the 5 BTC and change from my bitmit wallet in the usual manner.

Since alternatives are being discussed, there's coingig.com.  I haven't tried it out myself yet.
