481  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 05, 2024, 06:05:15 PM
A lucky Sportsbet.io player has won one of the largest slots jackpots in history

Wow. Only a 50 dollar bet and he became a multimillionaire? That is just amazing. Although perhaps if he was making 50 dollar bets on slots, then he was already quite rich to begin with? I imagine in that case that he is happy to have cut even on his losses from the past years of rich-person-gambling.

Although who knows, it might have been a normal guy who just decided to bet it all, a single time, on a slot game. Either way, that guy is lucky!

Oh my God, that player is set for his years to come. Thats crazy win I have ever seen until now and couldn't imagine the happiness of that player. This is just crazy man, how they reached to that level, what they might have been thinking while playing it, did they expect to hit that jackpot? So many things on my mind imagining the scenario while they were playing.

This guy is betting 50$ per spin on a slot game which describes how high roller this person is because even streamer with 1M bankroll still can’t afford to have a 50$ per spin. The winner is probably a big time even without winning this massive jackpot.

I’m pretty sure that he will bet for more again instead of cash out for good. Maybe he will cash out part of the profit but he will surely retain part of his profit to still play. Anyway this is the highest Jackpot I saw in the forum even on social media. This kind of win should make casino run if this happened on a shady casino. Good thing that the winner choose a legit and reliable casino such as sportsbet when he hit this jackpot!

Seem worth his money even if he bets 20 times a day with $50 each.  Congrats to him. Makes me wanna bet $50 each time if I just have the money.
But it's an interesting choice of game for him being a high roller actually. He sure has the patience to play slot, all I can afford it less than $1 per spin.

Having a huge capital will make me wanna try more exciting games like real people to play with and have a higher chance of winning that does not rely on luck.

Yeah, having heard this amazing news, it does make me want to play $50 slots, as if though I would have any chance of being so lucky as to win such an amazing amount. That has got to be almost lottery main-prize-ticket winning luck. Almost impossible but someone did it anway.

Its important to remember the odds, as not to let such news influence you into thinking its a good idea to make 50 dollar bets on slots. Grin Roll Eyes
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many individual holders of Bitcoin are there? on: January 05, 2024, 04:28:36 PM
Is there some metric or study somewhere that could let us know how many individuals (individual humans) currently hold Bitcoin as an asset? Are there any metrics that could approximate the number? Estimate change over time?

I would think this would be a key metric in understanding the market.

I do not think that is possible to find out. A hodler is a hodler whether he has 10 usd worth of Bitcoin in his wallet or 100 million USD worth. We can try to find out which coins have remained in a wallet for how long but just because somebody moves coins betweens wallet does not reset the hodling period and that person is still hodling. So the amount of coins and the amount of time which those coins have been on a wallet say nothing about someone's status as a hodler.

Those are only two examples of things we cannot keep track of, but there are simply too many other variables we cannot account for. The only way we can know an estimation of how many hodlers there are, is through statistical mathematics and gathering certain data points. For example, a poll could reveal more information as we project the results on to the larger community outside of Bitcointalk. But again, that would not be entirely accurate.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero (XMR) and other privacy coins at risk of delisting from Binance on: January 05, 2024, 02:30:19 PM
So what if privacy coins like Monero get delisted?  Will that mean it is impossible to trade your Bitcoin or other crypto in for Monero? Are there any other options? I know atomic swaps work as a decentralized option for trading in Bitcoin for Monero. You could use p2p (bisq) to buy and sell Monero with fiat. Hell, I think there are even darknet exchanges but I would stay away from them as they could just steal your money and you would never be able to do anything to stop or recover it.

So I think on the whole, Monero will be just fine even if the government makes it "illegal". Although honestly I doubt they will do that, because it will be unfair to the exchanges as buying and selling Monero anonymously will still be completely possible.

And honestly, this might be a good thing for Monero's price. No more shorting and whale manipulations. True stability.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 05, 2024, 02:09:39 PM
Greetings everyone and happy new year all!

Okay, today I was actually out for a little business and it happens that I almost spent all my time wasted without me even having a smooth deal, but along the line I have few games that I have placed a bet and was wanting to view my games from my phone since gambling is now mobile, what I meant by mobile is that you can access your account at any place provided that you have an internet connectivity you will login to monitor your matches.

So when I logged in, someone close to me easily peep from my left hand side and noticed that I just opened my account monitoring my games, at this point what he said is "ahh you don join dem"? Meaning you have also belong to the groups of people that gambles?

On a lighter note, I just smile and asked him if there is anything wrong while gambling or while monitoring my games and he said nothing but just that few people he knew that are gambling almost turned useless.

This now triggered me to come ask here whether you cares about what people says or sees you as when gambling, I know there are people who don't know you from time or who doesn't believe that you are a gambler and if it happens that you came across such people and their reaction towards you goes other way round would you care about it or you just totally ignore them?

Let's discuss amicably

In your life there will be different kinds of people who will always think both negatively and positively of you. Sometimes their perspective of you will be either due to a misunderstanding or because of a personal issue. But perspectives change and so do people. There is absolutely no point in worrying who likes you and who does not. Just live your life the way that makes you happy and ignore them. Because you will never be able to satisfy everyone, no matter how amazing of a person you are. Trying to become a "people pleaser" is not the right way to live, because it will exhaust you and end up bringing you nothing of value. And truthfully, most people are too busy caring about what others think of them to even notice things about you. Once you realize that, your mind becomes a lot lighter.

485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I learned I'm part of a BTC cult: The Bitcoin Carnivores on: January 05, 2024, 12:50:09 AM
I follow the carnivore diet for years now. It basically involves eating only meat and animal products for various health reasons from weight loss, reducing inflammation, longevity, etc etc. While this post is not too much of a dietary advert, I stumbled upon an interesting Vice article which claims the way I'm eating is very much related to bitcoin  Grin

https://www.vice.com/en/article/ne74nw/inside-the-world-of-the-bitcoin-carnivores

WTF - I thought.

The term "bitcoin carnivore", possibly coined by Ammous, the author of the best-selling book The Bitcoin Standard, also promoted by Goldstein from the Nakamoto Institute and various bitcoin maxis, in fact exists. Allegedly, there's an only-meat organized dinner every BTC conference in Miami. Well, I didn't know.

So the puzzles I didn't know even exist suddenly click together.

I'm now a cultist, a rebel against both the fiat system and the food system.

Welcome me as the newest member of Bitcoin Carnivores Cool

I guess being part of Bitcoin cult wasn't enough?  Grin A Bitcoin meat cult? Alright, I'll bite (get it? Tongue).

Usually I avoid garbage leftist media like Vice due to their biased and dishonest style of reporting, but for some reason (probably because I am currently hungry), I am interested in this cult.

I think that meat-only on the table is not really optimal. You need potatoes, rice or some other carbs. Not a lot, just a bit. The reason being that you get bored eating meat, then you go for the sidedish, and you think: "gee, these potatoes suck. I think I will try the meat again" and by comparison, suddenly meat becomes even tastier.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One more filed smear campaign against Bitcoin on: January 04, 2024, 05:52:13 PM
Haven't we learnt from the past? We are still doing panic selling which was witnessed as there were fuds created by some influencers about possible rejection of spot ETF and once this spread across we saw how people were on selling mode which literally brought down the value of Bitcoin to $40750. But this was a tight slap on face of those who tried bringing down Bitcoin as it survived this attempt as well and rising again.

When I as we I meant those who have panic sold their holding and it's sad people don't understand that just one event like spot ETF approval cannot define Bitcoin's future and people should stop believing in these smear campaigns because no one can predict much about crypto or Bitcoin.

Do not be too sure. I think that we will see more FUD in the coming days, which will push down the price of Bitcoin even further. It is obvious market manipulation, but there is nothing we can do but HODL and not give in to the panic.

And if you really want to stick it to the manipulative whales and their media/influencer friends who are trying as hard as they can to spread the obviously manufactured FUD, then buy the bottoms and hodl. No selling whatsoever.

If more people stuck to that strategy, then we would not see so much market manipulation.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: January 04, 2024, 05:10:22 PM
I'm just wondering how crypto casinos are able to cope with this high Tx fees.. cus definitely, they'll have a decreased transaction rate.. anyways, I understand the fact that they've got so many ways to cover up whatsoever.. maybe digital sales? Etc.. that'd also equat atleast 11/3 of the usual influx.

do people still gamble with these high tx fees? Is the current congestion in the mempool a motivation to some set of gamblers? that they might likely get fortunate since alot of gamblers won't wanna evade the high fees??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

Any online gambling crypto casino that I know of accepts many altcoins which have fees that can be as low as a few cents. I really do not see the problem unless you are a person who only uses Bitcoin for their gambling deposits. Bitcoin was never meant as a lowest-fee currency but rather as a storage of value. I understand the current situation with Ordinal Bitcoin NFTs is complicated and has contributed to a high transaction fee, but until that situation is solved, just use trustworthy altcoins (top 10 by market cap - see coinmarketcap for more info).
488  Economy / Gambling / Re: Finding a Bug on: January 04, 2024, 03:33:56 PM
How does someone go about reporting a bug to a casino a still hold casino accountable to pay a bounty?

You should ask the casino. Depending on the severity of the bug and what you can do with it, your reward might be quite high. Also, remember: they know that if they do not pay you then you are not obliged to tell them anything. Furthermore, they know that if they do not reward bug hunters, those same people could simply sell the information to hackers and other shady characters. So it is in their best interest to reward you (but do not tell them this, because they might take it as a threat, which is illegal). Don't be afraid to haggle over the price and do not let them take you for a chump. Bugs can be very valuable. Although some bugs can be completely worthless.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually think a Bitcoin ETF will be accepted this month? on: January 04, 2024, 02:59:29 PM
Not sure if its going to be this month, next month or in half a year. But what I am sure of, is that it is eventually going to get approved. Anything pushing the market down is pure market manipulation from whales and their media friends so that they can buy some cheap Bitcoin off of the gullible panic sellers. Honestly, I would not be surprised if the SEC is working together with the whales to fill their pockets before Bitcoin starts mooning to 100k. I do not want to believe it, but who knows what will happen in this shady, corrupt world of ours...

Either way, the best option is to hodl.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 03, 2024, 04:58:01 PM
We all know that gambling sometimes can be fun and something not, even if we  blatantly claim here that we do gamble alone for the fun purpose 🙄🙄. Truth be told majority of person actually gamble because of the possibility that they can earn some profits from the act and as we all know it , not all the time the end result is what we expected. Although am not an addicted gambler but I can say I do my fair share of gambling activities sometimes and what I have observed is that sometimes I actually make some hard calls that turn out to be fruitful when ever am tenced but the results may differ for different individuals though.

So I would like to know your own experience when making or taking risk in gambling under pressure.

Never gamble under pressure or under any kind of external or internal psychological change in the state of your mind. That is when you gamble most irresponsibly and rashly. There is absolutely no point in "panic-gambling". Also, gambling for the purpose of fun is only possible when you understand that gambling cannot provide you a steady income or sudden, undeserved riches. People who cling to this delusion cannot gamble for fun, for them gambling is a serious business.

What gambling really is is getting that "adrenaline kick". That is all its about. And you can get the same kick with small amounts of money. Once you understand that, you understand how to gamble for fun.
491  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's going on? on: January 03, 2024, 04:07:45 PM
It is all very easy to explain. Whales are driving market manipulation through FUD news to lower the price of Bitcoin down, shake up the shakey hands and buy cheap coins just before the real ETF approval. Do not feed the whales by selling your Bitcoin. Although I personally see this as an excellent opportunity to jump on the bandwagen and buy some cheap Bitcoin from under the noses of the whales. I think everyone should be doing exactly that. It is something they do not expect.

Maybe they found out that the ETF approval date will be postponed and they are using this to their advantage.

HODL and buy. That is what I am doing.
492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 03, 2024, 01:31:00 PM
Someone took a dump?
I was hoping to find the reason here Smiley

It is all just market manipulation so the whales can buy cheaper Bitcoin before the real ETF approval.  Roll Eyes

Remember your Tai-Chi lessons, young grasshoppers. Swim with the current, not against it. This is going to be a good buying opportunity.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: January 03, 2024, 01:26:09 PM
If you want to have fun with gambling, you can spend long time with $0.05 in every game you played.

If you want to gamble for money, you can use martingale strategy but it can be a way to lose huge amount of money. Do not go beyond your weekly budget.

I agree that gambling with tiny amounts of money is the right thing to do, as you still gain all the fun from gambling with none of the losses, but I do not agree with your second sentence. Not only is proposing someone use a mathematically impossible way to win "strategy" dangerous but it is also irresponsible.

The Martingale Strategy does not work. The mathematical proof for this has been posted on this forum many times already! Please do not go around telling people it is a good idea because it is not!

The only way to win in gambling is to play for fun with small amounts of money and no expectation of a steady income or sudden riches. That way you still get the same adrenaline rush but without the bankruptcy.

494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: January 02, 2024, 03:13:44 PM
I do not like thread that are long already. I prefer threads that is not more than 1 page long. I went through a long thread this time, some people are quoting me on the thread about who loses more to gambling and I read some replies only to find out that most people are saying rich people are likely to make money than poor people in gambling.

This is the thread
Why the rich win gambling more than the poor.

Is this not contradictory? I am not rich and I gamble and lose more. The same story by many rich people. People said you can not win the house. If more people are registered on a casino or a bookie site, the owner of the site will be happy. Because they know they will have more workers and be able to pay them as they will earn more. If you deposit huge amount, the more the happiness because the house would win at last. This is not about rich or poor. And this only shows more that the rich are likely to lose more.

So why are people contacting themselves. They will say the house would win because of house edge. Now they are also saying the rich would win than the poor. Is it not the others way around that the more the rich spend on gambling, the more the money the rich will eventually lose.

I think its easier to make money if you are rich than when you are poor. So if you gamble and lose, you are not broken. But if you are poor, you have to think about basic costs bankrupting you. That is basically the difference; the rich play without much consequence and the poor play with the consequences of getting themselves into a really tough life situation.

The poor can play, but they should not gamble with more than they can spare. In fact, bet with as little money as possible. You will still get that adrenaline kick that you are longing for but you get to keep most of your money and dignity at the end of the day.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 02, 2024, 01:03:38 PM
It's New Year here in our country and I happened to bump into an old friend who narrated a story about how he almost suffered a heart attack after he won a big amount of money in a casino, this was several months ago, he's lucky that his son was around at that time so he got the right treatment at the right time.

He did not know that his hypertension had gotten worse since he can gamble even if he has this, he is taking medicines and doing relaxation but big winnings must have triggered this.

My question is :
Do you know the status of your health while gambling and what do you do if you happen to suffer a mild or hard stroke?

This is why I make it a point to open my messenger and have my loved one that I can contact in case, whenever I'm playing alone.

All we can know about our health is what the doctors tell us and of course, by using our own brains. Everyone is their own doctor and if they have symptoms which they find strange or worrisome, obviously they need to see a real doctor. And if it turns out that we have some sort of ailment which can be made worse through gambling or other activities which get the adrenaline pumping, then it is only common sense for that person to avoid such things.

But becoming a hypochondriac might actually be bad since all that anxiety can have negative physical health effects. So there is no point in preemptive panic. Especially not after spooking oneself with stories of what happened to other people.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2024, 11:48:58 AM
To be honest, I don't really own bitcoins because I do not HODL. I always see myself selling my coins due to one issue or another, possibly because I really cannot afford to live my dream of holing until Bitcoin makes me rich.

In practice, I barely earn more than $3000 from my job, my wife's mortgage, and other demands waiting to snap up the money. Sometimes I sell in a bull market, and other times I sell in a bear market. Would you say that holding BTC isn't for everyone? Am I not too broke to depend on Bitcoin for financial freedom? Yeah, I'm working for my financial independence, but Bitcoin has remained a peripheral component of that plan. Only if I can HODL for a few years.

Do you comfortably HODL? 300% is quite a lot. 1000% for me is a dream.

My good man, you are broke because you do not hodl the Bitcoin that you can afford. If you cannot afford to buy any Bitcoin, that is understandable. Payments must be made, there is no other choice. But I think anyone can save up a few dollars to grow their BTC bags.

Sorry but it seems to me that your fiat mindset is dragging you down as you have been exposed to that unjust and corrupt system of money for so long that you now cannot imagine your financial life in any other way. In fact, if you were to trade any expendable fiat in for Bitcoin, you would probably panic sell during every major volatile price event. Flip flopping back and forth on your investment will definitely make you even poorer as you lose Bitcoin in bad trades and through trading fees (they add up to quite the large amount over time).

You need to sort yourself out before you think about Bitcoin. Your current mindset is not helping you. Undecided
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will SEC delay on Spot ETF approval do to Bitcoin's price? on: January 02, 2024, 11:33:24 AM
I am not sure if all of us are aware of not as SEC has delayed their decisions on Spot ETF application but they were supposed to take the decision by now and will this delay cause any set back in price ? People were speculating that there would be a price drop before halving and that didn't happened due to ETF as it helped increasing the value and since it's been delayed now will it cause any impact for the Bitcoin price? if yes then how much would it be and will it be that way till halving?

Stop worrying about news events. They are a fleeting phenomenon.

I do not know what any short-term FUD or FOMO news does to the price (nobody does), but I have noticed a lot of people currently complaining about losing out from "selling the news". I mean seriously, when did this garbage become the standard? What happened to HODL?

People who Hodl do not have to worry about the ups and downs, in fact, they should only care about the long term up.

Every bad piece of advice that new coiners follow will leave them missing out and even making losses. Then they start hating on Bitcoin because they could not resist the temptation to take said advice.

498  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF will probably not approved yet, so BTC and the others crypto will go down !! on: January 01, 2024, 11:05:59 PM
There is absolutely no way that ETFs are not going to get approved. There just is not anything of substance blocking the approval.

If anything, if it did happen (somehow), a non-approval will be for the reason of pure market manipulation. Once the price of Bitcoin is lowered down just enough, and all the shady characters have filled their wallets, the ETFs will get approved at a later date.

But as I already said, ETFs will be approved soon. OP is just spreading FUD with his throwaway newbie account for whatever reason.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 01, 2024, 10:19:14 PM
A gambling expert brought i and some friends a guaranteed predicted game and asked us to stake a a high amount so that we winning could be huge and so we can give him a percentage of the money at winning.

I don't believe there could be a 100% guaranteed game but yet my friends who are eager to make profits in the gambling accepted to play the gamed as instructed and at the end of it, they all loosed the game and at then, the rest of us were happy because we didn't play the game else we would had loosed as others.

I want to ask, do you believe in experts gambling predictions?

I do not believe in any kind of predictions unless they are backed by mathematical proofs. And even then, I would be quite sceptical about it. The reason is that making predictions based off of non-empirical data are very unscientific. The only reason why someone would give predictions is to manipulate the gullible people into betting a certain way. If someone knew the outcome, why would he/she tell others instead of making a huge bet themselves?

Either they are pretending that they know the outcome or its a fixed/rigged game. In which case, I think they also would keep quiet about it. Otherwise they could get into trouble with the law or the people who rigged it in the first place.

500  Economy / Gambling / Re: Powerball btc on: January 01, 2024, 09:56:25 PM
It is a good idea. Even the first Powerball casino website in the forum is no longer working again and I also try to find out if there is out there but none so if you have the idea to start it, you are good to go. But if the user who brought Powerball casino to the forum at that time is still active you can ask him what really happened that the casino was stopped working or the signature campaign manager at that time so that when you start yours, you would know the areas to avoid. Everything is idea and planning. Happy New Year to all.

There might be a reason why it did not work out. Maybe there is no way to truly make it random unless its a physical drawing of the winning numbers? I have no idea why lotteries are not more popular. As some posters have already pointed out, there are a plethora of reasons why people are more prone towards the physical version rather than a digital one.

Personally, I have no interest in lotteries. The chances of winning is really small and just not worth it, when you compare the chances of winning with other games like dice or slots. And it is not really all that fun. With other gambling games at least you are engaging the game and getting entertained. Where is the entertainment in lotteries?
