1341  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 20, 2023, 09:02:05 PM
If you are not wagering any money or reputation, then you are not gambling IMO.

Hmm... I would not be so sure about that. What about gambling using things other than money? Lets say for example: time.

If you are forced to invest a specific amount of time into something, then obviously you are using that time as a bet input. So instead of investing that time into your job to earn money, you are investing it into your bet.

I think that might be an unexplored, interesting concept, don't you? Lets say for example such a time gambling casino exists. And the money you can win by gambling your time comes from ad revenue. The advertisers are interested in advertising on that casino website because the casino forces the gamblers to spend a specific amount of their time there. This means they are also forced to take in the ads during their time in that casino.
1342  Economy / Gambling / Re: This guy gave a whole prototype of "how live roulette scam us" on: April 20, 2023, 09:47:32 AM
Physical games like live roulette are definitely too sketchy nowadays. I would rather see a digital version with open source and audited security/functionality and fairness (audited by a trustworthy third party, and not just a smart contract security audit, like certik).

But as far as the physics goes, the explanation checks out. I also think simple electromagnetic plates underneath the numbers with alternating polarity as well as magnetic field strength and a magnetic ball could be used to the same effect.

Usually this can be expected of Casinos that do not have real/any gaming licenses. Real licensed casinos would probably not rig the equipment , because if they were exposed, they would lose their gaming license and face heavy penalties.
1343  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: April 20, 2023, 08:02:21 AM
Hello everyone.
As you can see, bitcoin is going down and I believe that it will keep falling.
As I explained in my last posts, this Bitcoin rise wasn't sustainable. There are literally no reasons for Bitcoin to go up now.

So I want to remain you guys again that right now is not the time to buy bitcoin.
Inflation is still high, interest rates are still getting higher, FED is not planning to stop any time soon, and the economy is suffering. All these reasons won't let Bitcoin rise from the ashes YET. But I believe we will see the end of it this year, probably in Q4.

So I recommend holding on to your cash/stablecoins right now and waiting for the signals to buy Bitcoin.
And as always, the best signals to look for: FED start cutting rates. When this will happen, it will mean that economy will start recovering soon so it's a great time to buy anything you want before crypto and the stock market will go up.

Have a nice day and take care.

Another Fudder who makes posts that scares newbies into selling their stash. Good job.

Bitcoin always goes up and down. It has been going up, now it is going down. The best time to buy Bitcoin is when it is going down. So telling people to only buy Bitcoin when its going up is a recipe for disaster. Next you will be telling everyone to sell their Bitcoin when its going down. Buy high, sell low, huh? That won't work.

You might also want to hold off on "recommending" any kind of financial advice, as you are currently doing. People have gotten in big trouble that way before.

I see absolutely no reason to trust your half baked strategy of not having a strategy and just trading by emotion, as you seem to be currently doing... Roll Eyes
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 19, 2023, 10:32:26 PM
The Martingale strategy never works as intended. I have seen many people ask the same questions about that particular gambling strategy here on this forum but never have I heard of anyone actually pulling it off, successfully. There have been many failed attempts though.

So the statistical data on the success rate is not looking too good. So, personally, I would stay away. Some things sound too good to be true for a reason, and the Martingale strategy is definitely one of them.

However, if anyone does decide to go through with it, I would appreciate them posting their results in the Bitcointalk gambling sub-forum.

Perhaps we will find out that there is indeed an alternative or modified Martingale strategy that is worth it? Roll Eyes

Do you guys know if there is a live ticker of the cumulative buy/sell walls from the orderbooks of every major exchange?

Huh?

Do you know about this one:   https://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/books/all#

Thats the one! Thank you!

IOU 1 merit.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you agree with ChatGPT on the club that might win the premier League? on: April 19, 2023, 03:38:36 PM
I think that ChatGPT is a glorified "Let me google that for you"-type of application. Just because it is AI does not mean that it can automatically replace the human mind and your own logic/gut feeling.

Basically there is no reason to trust it, especially not with your money. If you are writing an essay on something and want to do lazy/sloppy work because you are too bothered search and compile the research for yourself, then sure, you can use ChatGPT.

Liverpool is not even worth considering as they have missed their window of opportunity, if you think about it for 5 minutes, so that is proof that ChatGPT does not make accurate predictions.

1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 19, 2023, 11:03:40 AM
Someone ask me a question after introducing bitcoin to him, if he can start up with $30 and grow with it but I told him bitcoin is wide and high in volume, price and market, that's means whatever you're starting with determine the outcome of the market like for example; if you start with $30 and eventually the market goes up to a little increase of $32 can not be compared with someone who started same time with you, at the rate $100.

So also when the market is down to some extent, the person with $30 may likely loss more because of the money is small. Blockchain has the minimum amount one can invest if am not mistaken but if your amount is too small may be difficult to make easy progress.

What do you think about my advised to him?

That depends. Does the person with 30 dollars want to make more money in the near future or does he need the 30 dollars right now for something important, like paying his bills or buying food?

If the 30 dollars are completely unneeded and can be invested then he is wasting time by not buying Bitcoin and letting that Bitcoin sit in his wallet for at least a few years.

Realistically he could see that 30 dollars become 300 dollars within a couple of years. Maybe even less, depending on how well the market is doing and what kind of adoption rate Bitcoin is experiencing.

Either way, not investing in Bitcoin is definitely a lost opportunity, from my perspective. 30 Dollars definitely is not below the minimum amount you can invest.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs physical gold price potential on: April 18, 2023, 10:59:00 PM
Physical gold is quite good and just like Bitcoin, it has a fixed amount, which means once all the gold has been mined, thats it. Gold ist used in many things, jewelry, chips, medicine, science and so on... So obviously people have a need for gold. That sounds like a wonderful currency.

But there are problems, as I see it. First, what happens if a giant amount of new gold is discovered? Or we start mining gold from asteroids in the future? The value will go down very quickly.

Furthermore, what happens once we no longer need so much gold because we have invented better materials? Also, lastly, gold is physical and heavy. That makes it hard to carry around much gold with you wherever you go. So unless you want to trust a piece of paper that says "the government gold reserves owe you an x amount of gold", you will find it hard to deal with as a currency in large numbers.

Same problem with trying to attach gold to BTC. You still need a third party "promising" that they will exchange an x amount of gold for your x amount of Bitcoin. The best middle man between gold and BTC remains fiat, unfortunately. If fiat fails, then perhaps your scenario of the 10kg gold to 1 BTC peg might happen. But again, what will the intrinsic value of gold be?
1350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need your opinion on the casino project ( gambling ) on: April 18, 2023, 06:20:34 PM
Greetings! My name is Max Hoffman

I am interested in the https://bithound.io/de/casino/national-casino/ and would like more information about it. I wonder how reliable and safe this online casino site is. Are there any independent reviews or verifications that confirm its legitimacy? I would also like to know what types of cryptocurrencies are accepted and what fees or commissions are charged for deposits and withdrawals.

In addition, I would like to know if there are any specific restrictions or limitations for players from certain countries and what types of games are available on the platform. Are the games fair and transparent? Is there an RNG test that guarantees the randomness of the game results?

And finally, is it safe to play at this online casino site? Is my personal information and cryptocurrencies safe and secure? Would you recommend playing on this platform or are there other crypto casino websites that are safer or more reliable?

Thank you in advance for your help and information.

Kind regards.

Just like the posters before me, unfortunately I have also never heard of that particular online gambling casino website. As there seem to be no reviews, either positive nor negative, I suspect that that online casino is extremely new. I personally would avoid new casinos due to the fact that they have not proven themselves to the community yet. They should be able to provide proof of a legitimate gambling license and provably fair games as well as audits by known security and functionality auditors.

If you still want to try the casino out then I recommend not depositing more than a very small amount of money. Because who knows what could happen?

Better safe than sorry... Undecided
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we should play on minor gambling platform? on: April 18, 2023, 03:13:53 PM
Hi there guys,

Since I've seen what happened to Coinplay, my question was: Why we should play with minor gambling platform, and not use only gambling platform like Stake, CloudBet, fortunejack ecc. which ensure us good games, 100%

of safety in terms of withdrawal and provably fair (about games)? This question is also for the owners of gambling platform, maybe they can help to reply it.

I usually only play on online gambling casinos with outstanding reputations and years of community dedication without any kind of justified negative reputation. You are depositing your hard earned money on their website, after all. So you need to be certain that the risk of something bad happening (like hacks, scams, and so on...) is at the most minimal probability level.

But I can of course understand why some people are trying out new platforms or casinos without much of a reputation (yet). Sometimes the newer casinos have to offer better bonuses compared to the older, established casinos and sometimes the gambling fans just want to try something new.

Totally understandable.

1353  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lottery system or Scratches finally launched in blockchain! Shocking!! on: April 17, 2023, 02:56:05 PM
I am glad to see websites popping up with blockchain gambling services. But blockchain lottery is nothing new, really. A lot of such projects like to make claims like "trustless and transparent" however they fail to provide an open source as well as a a smart contract audit and a non-custodial wallet experience. So unless your lottery system has been tried and proven by the community, I would not be ready to accept such grandiose claims. Decentralized does not automatically make it "provably fair".

Quote
Players can trust that the games are not rigged or manipulated

I think word trust should not be used together with "provably fair". A Certik security audit is not the same as an audit in functionality and fairness. So which audits other than security audits can you offer?

1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's NOT a good time to invest in BTC. on: April 17, 2023, 02:12:55 PM
For me, anytime below 100k USD is a good time to buy, in fact, I would even go as far as to say that anytime below 1 million is a good time to buy. Why people think that BTC is expensive at 30k is just as confusing to me as when people thought that BTC was too expensive at 10k. If you pay close enough attention, you notice its always the same people. And they will be the ones left behind to stay poor. Roll Eyes

Is anyone still seriously doubting Bitcoin after having spent the last 10 years regretting not investing in it? To them, any price justifies calling Bitcoin a bubble. A bubble which never seems to pop but they have some kind of bubble ptsd anyway  Roll Eyes
1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take Part in Gambling Lotteries ? on: April 17, 2023, 01:19:45 PM
I take part in lotteries but I usually do not make a lot of hope to win a lottery. Participating n the lottery is the easiest thing but getting a win out of it may be the most difficult thing. By the way, its fun participating in online lotteries.

Of course, if you take part in a lottery, you would track its progress and the result. Although i do not think that i am too lucky to win a lottery but still I keep looking for the results and see if any day i would win something big.

What if, I get a chance to participate in a lottery without any investment?
If any gambling site offers, free of cost entry in the lottery, i would definitely not miss that one. Smiley

I think lotteries can be quite fun but I would only join a lottery if I trust the website. Lotteries are basically the least trustworthy gambling games there are, from my perspective.  How can you really prove that a random gambling casino is not cheating you on the draw? If its a open source?

If they had free lotteries in the form of bonuses that would be preferable because it seems way more fun than the usual bonus giveaway's that I am already quite used to. In fact, they could make an entire community marketing scheme out of lottery bonuses if they wanted to. Seems like it would bring the casino more profit and new users but they all seem to follow the old bonus framework anyway....
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 16, 2023, 06:42:51 PM
gambling responsibly is a very hard thing to do. In fact, I think people underestimate the power of gambling and overestimate their own willpower. We are all only human, after all. And being human, we can only be as responsible as the universe allows us to be.

The secret to a somewhat responsible way of gambling is to develop your own discipline. This takes months even years of practice though and most people would not do it due to self-discipline being a hard thing to achieve by yourself.

If you write down your goals on paper and hold yourself to your promises, thats a start. Thats how I do it, anyway.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 16, 2023, 02:28:59 PM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.

There are two groups of people who gamble. Those who think they are having fun because the amount of money they gamble with is not worth crying over if they lose, and then there are the people who gamble their entire life savings away because they have the goal of making themselves millionaires by the end of the day. The first type usually have fun and see gambling as nothing but fun. The second type will be quite furious that you referred to gambling as something "fun" and demand you take it seriously.

I bet small amounts for fun. So I guess I am considered the first type of gambler.

That is fucking genius! Make people too uncomfortable to use your toilets, save on water and upkeep costs! Restroom requirement laws BTFO'd! Spend that money on Bitcoin instead! Grin Grin Grin
1359  Economy / Gambling / Re: Limbo and Dice Simulator on: April 15, 2023, 08:49:03 PM
...
It's just a small simulator, but a good tool for simulating Limbo or Dice lose/win streaks.
...
An advanced version with inc/dec on win/lose and stop on win/lose is comming soon.

Btw: It's a real eye opener for people who like to wager at 1.01x.

I like simulators, and I tried different ones. It's for people who like auto-betting in general, especially for people like me who gamble with different coins...

Well, this basic simulation is really basic, not bad... 39 loss streak at x3.5 is more than possible in million bets, it can be even higher. Wink

But I like when the simulator has other options, I guess we will see those options in advanced mode, which is coming. Looking forward to that.

By the way, every time we try the simulator we will be redirected to some casino. I don't mind, but some people don't like those things.

Good luck! I hope you will finish advanced mode.

While I totally agree with the annoying redirection (I assume its for referral marketing income purposes?), I would actually say its a good thing that it is basic. Basic means less bugs and less can go wrong. As long as all the most important main parts are included, thats really all we need. Building on the basic groundwork, fixing bugs and slowly working your way up is way better than a finished, complex simulation from the start. This way he can account for human error and community needs as he builds the next stages of the simulator.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 15, 2023, 03:22:24 PM
Please correct me if I am wrong
Even in today's modern world, except for a few people in Europe-America, the general public of the entire world does not have a proper understanding of Bitcoin. Sad Sad Except European-American, anyone who have a little idea about Bitcoin also have misconceptions. Due to this problem, many people are unable to invest in a great platform like Bitcoin even if they want to. This problem may not seem like a big deal to many, but think about third world countries. A sad reality is, in my country 80-90% of the population are not familiar with Bitcoin.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

I think that the problem will solve itself out in the near future as Bitcoin becomes more and more adopted. Although I would prefer to see it all happen a bit faster, personally.

Right now we are in the early times when people who do self-research on Bitcoin and then invest in Bitcoin are the ones who will be majorly rewarded in the long term before everyone else catches up. The earliest adopters already have proven this. Although back in 2009-2012 Bitcoin was a very niche thing and not everyone had heard of it, so its understandable that not everyone had the chance to know about it.

Nobody will be allowed to make the excuse of why they did not research and invest in 2023, though...
