1041  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much time for a Duelbits withdrawal? Been 24h+ on: July 19, 2023, 12:05:50 PM
20 thousand usdt, not 20 dollars. No they did not ask for KYC.

Customer support said they don’t know why it is being delayed and that they don’t have any timeframe on when this could be resolved.

On the other websites I also withdrew these amounts and sometimes much more (180k on Rollbit).

Anyway no problem I understand, but I am only asking others who play there about their experience, just to know what to expect. I’ve seen the thread about the 500k win but that’s on another level.

That is very strange. If customer support itself has told you that they do not know the reason for the delay then perhaps something went wrong? Did you check to see if you withdrew to the correct address? I always triple and quadruple check, especially with such large amounts of money. You need to be 100% sure you withdrew to the correct blockchain, as well. Was this USDT address a ERC20 or A TRC20 or some other blockchain?

Duelbits is a very well known and trusted online cryptocurrency gambling casino platform so they would not try to lie or scam you out of your money.

Have there been any updates since the customer support last contacted you?

Blackrock CEO Larry Fink Says Crypto Will 'Transcend Any One Currency' — Sees Broad-Based Global Interest.

https://news.bitcoin.com/blackrock-ceo-larry-fink-says-crypto-will-transcend-any-one-currency-sees-broad-based-global-interest

All countries in the world including America are slowly going to establish BTCBitcoin as the only coin, Although it is a long-term plan but we hope it will be implemented.

I am going to have to go ahead and quote JJG here: WTF IS CRYPTO?

Do institutional investor CEO's really not know how to spell Bitcoin? Or maybe they think crypto is another word for Bitcoin? Its the only way to explain their crappy investment decisions...
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: July 18, 2023, 06:36:07 PM
I have only been into XRP for 2-3 months and I haven't sold yet.

Even I have been left feeling ‘is that it?’ as it didn't even 2x in price after everyone saying it will 5-10x once they win the case. It has even been relisted on Coinbase and that doesn't seem to have done anything.

I will continue holding and wont sell any until I 3x my money at least which would mean XRP going to $1.25.

If I had been buying the last 2 years like many have then I would be disappointed with the outcome so far but I do think we will see another pump soon and eventually get past $1.

It's very likely XRP will cross the $1 mark after the partial victory in the court. How long will that last is a mystery. I really hope that XRP gets used for real world applications instead of being a purely-speculative crypto asset. Now that XRP is not a security, we should see additional exchanges listing it soon. Coinbase might get back to XRP trading because of the court ruling. Only time will tell us if this happens or not.

I'm glad XRP won the battle against the SEC, even though I don't like the way it's organized (centralization). This will make the crypto industry flourish once more within the US. Who knows if XRP keeps soaring until it becomes the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap? Just my thoughts Grin

I think most people were expecting the SEC to lose anyway and they have been doing so for a long time now. So while the news about XRP winning the court case is a welcome one, I do not doubt that the SEC will file to take it further in a second court case. So we are back to where we started. Nothing to be excited about.

Furthermore the ruling was only a partial victory since the court ruled that institutional sales of XRP were considered securities anyway. So can we really consider the whole thing to be a win? That is hard to tell... Huh

And even if we do eventually see a full win, that will have changed nothing about there being better altcoin alternatives to XRP. So again, nothing exciting there.

Could XRP reach 1 dollar? Very likely, yes. I just do not see the latest news as a reason to invest because the current excitement and the current price is currently based entirely all on FOMO.

So If USA vs russia fight with nukes how everything look like
People who never experinced nuke war what they should know?
Will the internet connection Will be disturbed Also when it's war i still want to trade online.
Like how powerful the nuclear Are ... How to keep still good life Even when nuke hit ?
Is home basement good idea ?

Any survival in a nuclear war will be short term. In the long run extinction of the human race as well as most (if not all) life on earth is guaranteed. In fact, if such a war would happen, the lucky ones will be the people who get incinerated within a millisecond. Everyone else will die slowly from radiation poisoning or just starvation. Because plants will not grow during nuclear winter. Sure, the ultra rich might have self sustaining bunkers but that will be all for naught on a dead, radioactive planet. They will simply be the last to die.

But let me save you the suspense: You are not part of the ultra rich.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling everywhere on: July 18, 2023, 02:11:10 PM

So if you use our saved money to stake a bet, what really comes next to your mind? I will like us to talk about this.

We hope to win. That's the point of gambling so far. If you are optimistic all time time you will definitely keep trying and come up with strategy not to lose a lot of course. If you have played rock, paper, scissors your objective is to outsmart the other party by thinking which will be his next cast. They can come up a strategy with this.

Winning makes you profit. Gamblers will find something to reason and justify their gambling. Why save when you can profit when you get lucky.

Well no, rock, paper, scissors is a game of skill not a game of luck. Its all about that split microsecond where you can see your opponents move unfolding and you have exactly that microsecond of time to make your decision of which counter-move to make. Gambling wins can also make you profit but unfortunately you will not be in control of whether you have a higher chance of winning or not. Unless of course we are talking about sports betting. With sports betting at least you can do some research on the players and so on. More research in that regard does give you a higher chance to win.

But gambling games like slots? You are completely relying on luck. And the probability is shifted against you in the house's favor.
1046  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 18, 2023, 01:24:31 PM
Something about the timing of this news is kind of strange to me... Centralized platforms, whether online cryptocurrency gambling casinos or cryptocurrency exchanges are going through with implementing KYC, seemingly as though they have been forced to do so quietly by the government.

A few days ago Kucoin exchange switched to KYC, as though under some coercion. Despite being non-KYC for such a long time now. Now Freebitco.in is going KYC too? Something is going on... A few months back people started warning others to take out their money from centralized exchanges...

Although I do not mind following anti-money-laundering laws and such, I am very skeptical about providing government documents which can be used by identity thieves to take out loans and commit crimes in your name. ID theft has ruined lives.

We need decentralized technology to up its game and we need more advanced decentralized gambling platforms as well as exchanges. Undecided

^Okay, with all the discussion around AI generated content, I want to conduct a little test to see if you guys can discern AI from reality.  Obviously, this is an informal test but here goes.  (feel free to use one of those detection tools on it as well).  It's not necessary for everyone to respond to this post - I'll update this post with an edit at  ~2100 UST to let you know.  Oh, regardless of what comes after this, I still love you JJG Smiley

I just wanted to bring up a point about JJG's forum postings. Don't get me wrong, the guy knows his stuff and has some really useful insights. But seriously, he uses way too many words to make a simple point! I mean, come on, who has the time to read through a novel every time he posts something? It's like he's trying to show off how smart he is by using a million unnecessary words. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a well-thought-out argument, but sometimes brevity is key.

To me it is more interesting why we think it is written by an AI or human, instead of using some detection tool. This would be an interesting school assignment @Homer Smiley. Why I think it is AI-generated:

- It uses "don't get me wrong" twice in the same alinea, something humans get taught to avoid (re-using the same words).

- "the guy knows his stuff and has some really useful insights" says exactly nothing, it attempts to disguise knowing any specifics about JJG. Except for the prompt it has been given that JJG uses lots of words trying to get a point across.

1049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: July 17, 2023, 04:25:30 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

Would I still be tempted to gamble, even though I made a life changing decision not to gamble, ever again? Even if that meant I had made enough money to last me 1000 lifetimes?

The answer to that question might be a bit irrational.

I think that even though we all here think we ultimately have full control over ourselves and our desires, the simple and unshakeable truth is: We are only human. And being human comes with a loss of control.

I like gambling and I do enjoy it, as many of you do. And having made it into an enjoyable hobby, I do not think I could resist the temptation and never gamble again. Because at some point, I would give in my urges.

It is true that we as good human beings also need some fun, but sometimes it is difficult because many do not know healthy fun and that includes being able to control emotions and performing many functions, including putting everything on a scale, not go crazy, and control impulses above all, when we play we have many impulses and that is what leads us to make bad decisions.

If we had the coldness of a robot to manage our own emotions, we would be very advanced beings and with many things that we can achieve, but it is difficult, very difficult to control emotions, and even though it is something we can do ourselves, we get into our minds that we are invincible when we play and that is when we lose the most money.

I agree, we do sometimes get into a particular mindset of being invincible because we manage to convince ourselves of that fact by manipulating ourselves emotionally. But that again only goes to show that no matter how faultless and amazing we human beings think ourselves to be, in the end, we are still quite fragile when it comes to matters of the mind.

So that being said, I think nobody who makes gambling losses should be too hard on themselves and they should remember that making such bad decisions is all a part of being human.

Next time they think about taking huge risks, they will remember what happened to them the last time, so in a way making such mistakes can be a good life lesson.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 17, 2023, 02:54:06 PM
Yes, I am complaining that people are not nerdy enough. It's been 14 years since Satoshi published his white paper and the vast majority of people still don't understand what Bitcoin is and how to use it. Sure there are many people buying Bitcoin on crypto exchanges and speculating on it.

However, the average guy on the street that I speak to, and even many people on crypto forums still don't understand Bitcoin's potential as a virtual commodity, or it's potential to create an alternative to Fiat economies. Maybe the problem is deeper than just a lack of understanding about the technology? Maybe it's a lack of understanding about economics as a whole? How many people are economists?

I understand that my frustration might be due to the fact that I am coming from a very privileged position. What are your thoughts on this?

I think all people on earth are nerdy.

Because what does it mean to be nerdy? Does it mean that you are good in math? Good with science? Computers? No. It just means that you are very focused on a particular thing that you really like and you have become better at it than most people. By that definition we cannot expect everyone to be good at the same thing that you are good in, neither can we expect everyone to be just as excited for something that you are excited in.

A welder who loves his job and is amazing at it and continues to study the deeper knowledge of welding will become nerdy about welding. But that does not mean he should also be interested in cryptocurrency, or economics at all.

Our job as cryptocurrency nerds is to get people interested and motivated.
1051  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: July 17, 2023, 01:36:04 PM
This really worries me the most. Betnomi gave me quite the run-around trying to verify my account on multiple fronts. So they have essentially every type of personal identification of mine, banking information, etc. So if they were compromised then my personal identity and many others may also be.
We don't know what happened. I don't think it was hacked. It seems either betnomi sold their database or they have created another website. All are based on assumption. Nothing confirmed yet.

Well, this is serious... Who knows how many people left their documents on Betnomi?

Nothing is confirmed, and I don't see anyone complaining about money left there (I checked around)... My balance was $2. This is a very strange situation, I am not sure what to think anymore. Definitely, Betnomi is offline for too long and all this smells fishy, but again where are some big complaints, and scam accusations? With my $2 there and without KYC I dodge a bullet, and I played on Betnomi just because we had poker games there...

Good thing that I haven't played on this platform as far as I can remember. But if they have been hacked as speculated, then losing their money and then the customers data, then it's a double whammy for us.

Hopefully, they can come back and clear the space for us. I mean they have been slowly getting into the community and establishing themselves. So the sudden offline is really very sad to see and at the same time there are have speculations as to what really happen to them.

If that is true and they have indeed been hacked then not only is their precious money gone but the KYC details will now be in danger of being used for identity theft. Anyone who did KYC on their platform should probably alert the authorities that their government documents might be used by a third party without approval. That way, at least they can save themselves with a legitimate claim and plausible deniability, should someone take out a loan in their name or commit some kind of crime in a different country in their name...

This is exactly the reason why KYC is such a double edged sword.

Also, if they were planning on scamming their customers, then I think they would have made it possible to deposit and bet but not withdraw.

Best thing to do is stay away for now and wait for further details. Maybe its not a hack, but something else.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 14, 2023, 03:20:06 AM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling

My first experience with gambling was with slots. It was an after school thing with friends at a physical casino and I think I was around 18 or 19. It was something completely new for me and while I started off with mere Euro cents, soon I lost over 50 Euros or so before I realized that I needed to stop. Don't get me wrong, I had fun but as with discovering anything new there is a tendency to overdo it and not even notice. But slots alone do get boring after a while. Especially the European slots which were my first ones. They are basically all the same template but with a different style. So there is only so much you can get from them in terms of entertainment. I moved on to card games not soon after and honestly, I have not gotten bored of poker even after all these years. I think what keeps the game exciting are the different people that you play with.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 14, 2023, 03:00:45 AM
as long as it is free then why not join ? but trust me most signal groups has only the same intention and that is to pump their own supported projects and degrade those they hated.
free signals are mostly created for nothing but to favor those creator and not us investors.
most of them are liars and of course scammers.
just do your own research mate and study everything before putting your money inside.

Free cheese is only found in a mousetrap. At some point there will be a catch and if you drop your guard because you have gotten used to the group and perhaps even built up some form of trust, you will be tricked into giving someone your money. Or worse, you will simply lose all your money on some quacks ideas on trading speculation. Avoid signal groups like the plague and you will be a happier person for it.

Furthermore, anything that has to do with Telegram should be considered a scam automatically. The same goes for groups which are on discord or other unprofessional, discrete locations/platforms. Scammers use such platforms because its easy to stay anonymous and/or deny posting histories.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Signs that indicate you are not addicted to gambling on: July 14, 2023, 02:24:21 AM
Don't self diagnose, it's bad.

When you're not an addict, you will search about signs of gambling addict and there are few signs that same like your habit, you will diagnose if you're an addict and vice versa. It's better for someone visit a doctor and ask them if you're an addict or not, so you will get a proper answer since they more know about your problem.

while I do agree with you on the fact that it is not a good idea to self diagnose, since one is always biased for oneself, I think that visiting a doctor is unnecessary. Addictions are easy to spot, especially from the perspective of family and/or friends. I do not think that one necessarily has to visit a doctor to determine whether one has an addiction or not. Especially a gambling addiction. Not only would you be wasting a doctors precious time but you will probably be laughed out of his office.

The safe bet is: if you start asking yourself if you have a gambling problem, the answer should be an automatic yes, based purely on the act of self-questioning. At that point, just walk away from the gambling world for a few weeks at the very least. Some would even need a longer time to get rid of the gambling addiction.

People who easily get addicted should not gamble at all.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 14, 2023, 01:14:25 AM

I think, people think that women can't gamble but I think that they can gamble with a high percentage of wins because they are organized and have the patience to win the race slowly and steadily and not put all the gambling portfolio in one or two games.

On the contrary I don't think women win gambling bet more than men or there organized attributes or patience a factor. In fact I don't think patience will be attributed to a woman alone because this is subjective even if we agree that they are organised. Therefore, the reason that it looks like the women win more is that they don't lose as heavily like men. Men are heavy gamblers, they gamble with high percentage of risk but women don't bet heavily so if they lose they will still have something to bet again but men may not have such money as they involve a lot of risk at one bet.

But again, by that very same logic of yours, women also do not win as big as men. Just because of the fact that men are heavier risk takers and therefore reap higher wins. So as I see it, men are on both sides of the distribution curve when it comes to extremes. Either they lose big or they win big most of the time. Women on the other hand either lose little or win little.

As far as profitability goes, I would say that women have the advantage, since house edge makes both genders lose more than they win. And so the most profitable gamblers are the ones who have some money left over, at the end of the day, i.e. women.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: July 13, 2023, 04:13:59 PM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?

Technically it could be possible but I think the casino would have to be quite small for that to happen. Big casinos have a lot of funds and even investors backing them, should they need a loan or something. In a hypothetical situation that a billionaire like Elon Musk or Bill Gates decides to gamble a few billion dollars on a high risk game with a high reward, and win, then yes, the casino will be in big trouble.

But usually casinos know and watch over their risks and always have some kind of back up plan in case something like a big win happens.

We do hear from time to time casinos withholding winnings for a long time, and people suspect it is because they cannot immediately pay out the large winnings all at once... Although eventually the winnings are paid out.
1057  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 13, 2023, 03:19:11 PM
I am a marketing guy so I think I can weigh in here.

Word of mouth is the most important marketing strategy that anyone can have, when it comes to selling your product or service. Everything else is merely to "get the ball rolling" If you fail to get people excited about your product or service with a minimal amount of funding for your marketing campaigns, then no amount of throwing money around will help you achieve the goal of successful marketing. Just take a look at Zuckerberg's Metaverse. He threw so much money at marketing that you would think that the Metaverse would be as big as Twitter or Paypal. But no, to this day it is not something that most people care about.

1058  Economy / Gambling / Re: l0tt0.com on: July 13, 2023, 03:03:13 PM
Hello,

I just launched my new website. https://www.l0tt0.com

The project has instant games with a unique take on where the winning numbers come from . They're taken from the last decimals of Bitcoin's USD price. We source our price information from two esteemed platforms, CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. We have custom API's which deliver us updates every 10 seconds. We call one, sleep 5, then call the other. each is added with the last and divided by two. Thus giving us a steady price update every 5 second, going down to the 16th decimal. Our games take their winning numbers from the last 5 to 6 decimals. It's certainly a unique and truly random number set. We have a public price API so everyone can see our updates.

I'm very excited to hear your thoughts and feedback. We are starting a small signature campaign this week. I'm starting this thread to introduce the project and to have a place to handle any questions/concerns/comments.

Thanks so much,

Josh

Allow me to extend to you a warm welcome to the Bitcointalk community!

I have taken a look at your website but unfortunately it seems to be made up of only a single page with the message that the website is still being worked on, so I cannot vouch for the legitimacy of any games that you may have to offer. I do like the retro yellow look which you have adopted for your signatures as well as for your brand marketing. The bright yellow color really lures in everyone's attention.

I hope that you will be active in the community as well as fair. Please note that the Bitcointalk community can be very strict and always has an eye out for even tiny details. So it is in your best interest to maintain a squeaky clean reputation!
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 12, 2023, 08:46:08 PM
Losing certainly feels bad. I know the feeling of losing a lot of money due to my stupidity but that has not stopped me from losing even more money in the all-too-near futures after that. Just put it out of your head and not dwell on it too much. Otherwise you start thinking you can win your loss back but end up losing more money...

You're right, I think we've all experienced at some point that things like this, losing because of a bad move feels ugly, sometimes with sadness, anger, of course that turns into remorse with the desire to have a feeling of revenge, and that Sometimes you have to control it, sometimes we must humbly accept that we lose when we gamble, it is the best, since seeking revenge or chasing losses is the worst, because that turns into continuing to lose money, and that is not correct, because gambling In a casino it should be synonymous with fun, but not with pressure, stress or something that turns into a nightmare.

Absolutely, loss is part of the game, and its acceptance safeguards us from the treacherous cycle of vengeance gambling. However, your view banks on players having the emotional wisdom for self-discipline.

Also, consider the socio-political undertones of your stand. By pushing "gambling as fun," you're aiding giant casinos that glorify gambling. For them, its a goldmine, but for others, it morphs into a compulsive demon.

Therefore, I endorse stricter oversight and public enlightenment about gambling hazards. A community-centric strategy, mixed with personal duty, is the future.

Yes, I know what you mean, the only thing is that many like casinos, others like to smoke, others like alcohol and others like drugs, of all the drugs that I would never recommend doing or trying are because that is seeing how a human being is lost, I think that it is the most rotten thing that exists that a human being becomes nothing, I know that some drugs are used for medicine, others to cure, but to a degree under optional judgment made by a doctor, however, since there are many forms of "fun", I believe that all of them in excess are bad.

Whoever drinks alcohol will bring Problems to his life if he doesn't control it , because it can take him to a very ugly critical point Those who like to smoke know that they are killing themselves, I think it goes without saying much , but in a casino No , a casino can give fun and money at the same time, but if you don't relax and take things well, everything It can get out of control, that's why you Always have to be 18 years or older for these Games , because you are under the full Responsibility of the Person.

I have seen how in some families they quit because of alcohol , and I have seen how a person's smoking makes his family suffer a lot because he dies of lung cancer or something like that, so everything under an eighth scheme is what else should be done, when we are 18 years old , we know what we are doing , we know what we are going for , there is nothing to do but do things right to guarantee a good Old Age..

An excess of anything is bad. As the great Paracelsus once said, the dosage is what makes the poison. A person could die from drinking too much water or eating too much food. We are all responsible for our own discipline and knowing our own limitations. We cannot simply say "alcohol is at fault or gambling or some other bad habit is at fault" when the truth is that we ourselves are at fault.

And sure, drinking any amount of alcohol or smoking any amount of cigarettes can be considered to be bad for your health but we need to weigh the bad over the good. And if you know your limits and can indulge in a bad habit without losing control then I say go ahead and have fun. Nobody cares if they live to 100 or only 90 anyway.

Those who are experts in gambling would tell you that you're not guaranteed a 100% success rate no matter how skilled or how well you might cliam to have studied the game even though you're a sports Analyst or well informed in a particular sports, gambling has it risks and rewards and most times the risk is greater than the reward, I'll say it's on a ratio of 60:40 that's 60% loss compared to a 40% in winnings, most people newly introduced to sports betting have had several trials yielding losses before they attain jackpot, but it varies because some people are very lucky when it comes to gambling.

About yesterday I came across a friend looking so depressed and sad and tried to interrogate with him then he said he felt like giving up in life and i asked why, he said he used about 80% of his savings to stake on a particular football game and lost, I felt so pity for him and had to encourage him with some advices.

Though I've had losses in gambling but I've never had such a sad one like he's, I was introduced to gambling by a coursemate in college who won a jackpot, thought I lost in my first three trials but played again and won about 80k in my local currency, there are people that's made millions through gambling and some others are yet to win but still find it difficult to quit, share your experience if you have any whether good or bad, cause I believe there are people here who would learn from it.

The biggest problem with gambling is the people who go in with no plan, no strategy, no limits and no risk management and they think that they will get rich in one bet. Well, life does not work like that and neither does gambling. Your friend used 80% of his savings on one bet? What did he expect? I would not even have used 10% on a single bet. Stretch out your bets and you stretch out your risk. And never bet money that is important to you.

No matter how good you think your prediction is on a certain game, never let it emotionally influence you into making such large bets. It is never worth it, in the end!

Of course, I  have made the same mistake and not only once, so I am no better. But I have learned from my mistakes since then. Now I follow a strict plan with loss and betting limits.
