1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: April 26, 2023, 05:23:45 PM
I have said it so many times but there will always be people who think that they can outsmart mathematical probabilities and somehow make an easy living and a steady income stream from gambling.

What they fail to realize is that the more often you bet, the higher your chances of losing become. There is no way around it. So what is the point in trying to make gambling some sort of job?

Gambling is a fun activity and it can be enjoyable as long as you hold yourself in control and under self-discipline. But it should not be taken seriously like when people try to invent strategies to cheat the system somehow...
1322  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a web3 casino for you? on: April 25, 2023, 11:09:40 PM
Lately we have seen a lot of online casinos that are considering themselves as Web3.0 but in reality it’s just a name, they don’t over a real Decentralized experience for players.
So i want to know from you what’s are all the features an online casino should have to be considered as web3.0 casino?

I would have to agree with you on that part. Obviously, there are no "real" decentralized gambling casinos which could be considered true web3 casinos right now (or at least none that I happen to know of). Most casinos who claim to be web3 are just saying that for the purpose of marketing. They want to make it seem like they are something they are not, in order to gain a step ahead of the "regular casino" competition.

As long as they have a say of what happens to your funds or as long as there is any kind of centralized authority system which has any kind of control over the gamblers accounts and/or their funds, they should not be calling themselves "decentralized".

1324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Best place to buy a miner help on: April 25, 2023, 10:03:26 PM
Hi guys if anyone can help me with this issue many thanks

Whatever place you choose to buy your miner from, it is imperative that you make sure that you are buying from a reputable miner seller and not some random ebay or alibaba merchant and do not use any strange software that they give you. Once you find a seller, it would be best if you were to double check by posting the source link on this thread so that the Bitcointalk community can tell you whether or not the seller is reputable.

The problem here is that you could buy a miner from a sketchy individual who could try to find a way to sneakily scam you out of your coins or sneak spyware through, along with your bought miner.

The scams can be quite diverse and complex. Here is an example: https://www.kaspersky.com/blog/cryptoscam-fake-antminer/39398/

Be aware of fake websites!

The above recommendations from the Bitcointalk members philipma1957 and MikeyWith are trustworthy.
1325  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: When Trustwallet doesn't show incoming transactions on: April 25, 2023, 09:46:45 PM
I have no idea what is going on with Trustwallet right now. I am having huge issues with swaps. Either it says that the swap will be expected to fail due to an unknown reason or it does not even load the swappable currencies in the first place. Sometimes the Trustwallet app just crashes for seemingly no reason. This happened to me yesterday but it has been happening for quite a while now. Either 1inch has a problem or more likely, the wallet app itself is having trouble.

I do not have a lot of money in Trustwallet but I don't think I will be using it in the future anymore. It has become extremely unreliable.

Their support team should be on Bitcointalk or at least keep us updated on social media of what is happening. This is ridiculous.
1326  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 BINOBI - BEST ONLINE CASINO |🚀BINOBI Affiliate Program| 💸Earn with RevShare on: April 25, 2023, 06:34:20 PM
Hello and Welcome to the Bitcointalk community, BINOBI.

It seems a bit interesting that you call yourself the "best online casino". That seems like a very large claim, especially for a casino which is currently new, and it is therefore yet untested and inexperienced. So, which part of Binobi makes it better than the largest, most trusted casinos?

As I read in your past post you still do not have your gambling license? That makes me a bit nervous about gambling on your platform. I would love to see proof of a legitimately registered and licensed casino first...

Again, welcome and I hope you are as fair to us as we are with you.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 25, 2023, 12:05:24 AM
It's been awhile I try daily to make profit

Stake casino mostly mines

But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day

What does your common sense tell you? Does it tell you that you can make a steady income from gambling?

I am not going to tell you what to do with your money or your free time but gambling should be seen as a fun activity which may or may not win you money. But earning an steady income? That is completely going against the odds. And the odds are that no matter your strategy, the house edge will always be against you in terms of probability. I gamble with a small amount of spare money from my income and I do not expect to win anything. Because when you start expecting things, you become an emotional gambler, and that is even worse because then you will definitely get into financial trouble.

If you are going to gamble, then understand that you are working with luck, not logic. So do not try to make any logical connections to any possible future events, like earning a steady income.

Good luck and have fun Cheesy
1328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do when there is a bear run in Bitcoin on: April 24, 2023, 11:32:30 PM
Newbie investors are always going to panic sell and they usually do not listen to veteran investors or anyone else's opinion other than their own. They are definitely going to lose money. I think most, if not all, of us went through that "panic-and-sell hell" and I believe it to be part of the learning experience. And any money that the newbie investor loses should be considered a tuition fee. He will have learned a very valuable lesson which he will not forget in the future. And honestly, I think that that learning experience will make him a better investor for it, in the long term.

So thats why I no longer go around warning newbies or trying to catch their attention by throwing caution to the winds. What will be will be.

I am sure that there are quite a few smart ones out there who know who to listen to and actually trust in their words. But they are the exception to the rule.

1329  Economy / Economics / Re: Concers About Going in Business with a Friend on: April 24, 2023, 10:59:00 PM
Many years ago, I heard the story of a man whose business partner did dirty. They were business partners for almost 5 years and the suddenly the business partner left with company's money. Even after several years, this man didn't recovered. He ended up sounding it as a warning to his kids never to go into business with anyone. The trust was destroyed and never recovered. This is just one of those sad stories.

On the other hand, there are many success stories of friends who went into business together and succeeded to together. If you have ever gone into business with a friend, what were your biggest concerns and how did work through it.

I think that there are times when things do not go the way we want to. This leaves a bad impression on us and a deep scar, which is why the man from your story will find it very hard to trust anyone ever again. But that does not mean that going into business with a partner is a bad thing. It only matters to him because of his own bias against partnerships.

Obviously there is a difference between trust and blind trust. They are not the same thing. Nobody should trust blindly. But without trust, there is no cooperation and no point in any business, because anyone can screw you over. Not only your partner.

Statistically, most partners do not do this to each other. The guy was just very unlucky that it happened to him.

I would not take his story as fact on the matter.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: April 24, 2023, 05:59:29 PM
Reading another post, it crossed my mind that AIs and particularly ChatGPT could potentially be trained with a large samples of games played by poker champions and then put it to auto-play with amateur on-line players. If this is successful, it could mean the end of human on-line poker playing except perhaps for the world masters and the like. Has anyone tried? Would it be possible??

Gambling, especially poker, is a game based entirely on luck as well as reading your opponent's mind and trying to determine whether or not he/she is bluffing. This is not something that any Artifical Intelligence is currently able to do. Especially not a glorified Let-Me-Google-That-For-You app like ChatGPT. In fact, I would very much prefer a stupid non-human opponent to a real human. Easy money. A real human is unpredictable and sneaky. ChatGPT is very predictable. In fact, I am sure you could write a few lines of code which would alert you everytime ChatGPT tries to "bluff".
1331  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betcoin.AG SCAM!!! -1000$ on: April 24, 2023, 03:45:59 AM

Betcoin.AG suspects him to be from a restricted region. That's why he was asked to send proof but OP is not sending anything as said by Betcoin.AG. It's the standard nowadays already so he is not sending proof of location, I guess he can't go on the play.

But would you let him withdraw if he isn't providing documents?  Or now he is obligated to send and the casino is also obligated to ask for the documents?

As we have already informed him, he is welcome to the funds any time. The verification request is based on his insistence that he is in a permitted region. It appears to us that he thinks he is going to talk his way out of having to complete it. We have pushed for him to admit that he is in a restricted region and take a withdrawal, but he continues to deny it, causing a lot of unnecessary back and forth, which is why the account was suspended. We continue to wait for him to follow up on this by email. We are, and have been, ready to resolve this for days.

Since you are willing to give him back his money, it seems to me that he is indeed the one in the wrong here. Obviously if there is a suspicion of him being from a country which is not permitted to gamble on your website, as your terms and conditions obviously state, then you guys are just adhering to the laws and regulations that your casino is subjected to. Him trying to talk his way out of this mess is obviously not going to work.

Just out of curiosity, how do you suspect someone is from a forbidden country? Their IP could be changed to any country due to a VPN, could it not? A dedicated VPN IP would be pretty much impossible to catch.
1332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is eventually ID by the government on: April 23, 2023, 09:26:24 PM
A friend of mine was of the opinion that the government cannot put an end to Bitcoin because it unfortunately cannot be traced to a particular person or organization which could be sued for bringing about the currency or Blockchain.
If this is true does it mean that the identification of Satoshi as a person or organization will pose a treat to the existence of Bitcoin or otherwise

If Satoshi is ever doxxed or found by the government, then I believe that the government (egged on by the banks) will try to punish him out of revenge. Which will be very sad to watch happen but I am certain the Bitcoin community will show their discontent and try everything that they can in order to keep Satoshi out of harms way. But no matter who Satoshi is or what the government tries to do to him, Bitcoin is out of his hands and our of his control. So they cannot attack or manipulate Bitcoin by going through Satoshi. Of that I am 100 percent certain.  Wink
1333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 23, 2023, 07:42:53 PM
Although within this community Bitcoin is practically the only currency in which everyone believes, just look around a bit and we will find thousands of people who think otherwise.
At this point I wonder, what reasons should we give these people to make them realise that Bitcoin is a right choice? The first argument that comes to mind to convince a person who is sceptical about Bitcoin, is first of all that with Bitcoin you no longer need to delegate the custody of your money to a third party (banks, mutual funds, etc.): you are the master and you hold them. What else would you add?

I think that trying to convince anyone who is skeptical is a bad idea. They would see the attempt of someone trying to convince them of something, especially something which has to do with them investing money, as a an attempt at scamming them somehow.

No matter how well-structured and logical your arguments are, some people push back harder the more you try to convince them.

I believe the best method of dealing with those kinds of people is to just show them your positive history with Bitcoin. Show them proof of how Bitcoin has helped you. Especially show them your return on investment (ROI).

No better way to convince someone than to show them hard proof.

1335  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: You should write two copies of your seed phrase. on: April 21, 2023, 08:14:54 PM
is remembering 12 words that hard?

Exactly, lol. I would rather prefer to remember my seed phrase than write it down and have all my money stolen at some point in the future. Or just sit on the piece of paper, trembling that someone might see it. It's all so troublesome. Why not just remember it? Its only 12 words.

And anyone who has a bad memory could use the 12 words to enter their wallet each and every day. After doing that exercise for a while, they would reach some point where their brains store their seed phrase in their long term memory.

It does not even have to be every day. You could enter your wallet through your seed phrase every few days. It would still commit itself to your memory after a while.

But you are still in danger of keyloggers and the sort... So is there really a 100% safe method? Not really.
1336  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 21, 2023, 07:29:48 PM
When you're short on cash, it can be difficult to quit borrowing money.

Everyone has been there. We're short on cash and in a lot of debt, but a cover loan to get out of the red and even improve our readiness is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Blissful days? Sadly, no. It all comes down to the straightforward, yet frequently misunderstood, formula that says borrowing more money equals more debt. It is more difficult to return to black the more debt you accumulate.

The majority of us live beyond our means, which is one of the primary causes of our ever-increasing habit of borrowing money. Simply put, incomings are outpacing outgoings. It's also getting worse.

More than at any time in the past two decades, millions of Americans are spending more than they earn. Spending on credit cards, the most common type of personal debt, is estimated to be rising at a rate faster than at any other time in American history.

Personally, I avoid borrowing money like the pest. It is so difficult to get out of debt. It would be way easier to work for your money and save some cash in increments instead.

Sure it might take longer but you will be safe.

I think the culture of borrowing money until you are in a hopeless situation and are doomed to spend the rest of your life paying your debts is an american exclusive culture. In my country, we prefer to save our money and/or invest it into useful and profitable ventures. From my experience living in the United States of America for a long time and spending time around Americans, I can definitely say that they seem to be a risk-ignorant people. They appear to be completely oblivious to the consequences of their actions until it catches up to them. Then they are surprised. Roll Eyes
1337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: April 21, 2023, 03:03:03 PM
I guess for someone to call him or her self a trader you need to control your emotions right, now after having that emotion in control and other basic things a trader should know you have all under control and still loss more then getting profit.

*What else is required for such a person to control,is it still his or her emotions or what next?

*And what will be your advice to a person in that position or state and what kind of trader are you going to call such a person?

Before you start trading there are two things that you need to do and you need to master these things before you even consider using real money to trade.

First is you need to develop your self control and your self discipline. If you do not have discipline you will always trade on emotion and you will definitely lose your money by doing so.

Secondly you need to learn the basics of trading, learn how to research, read charts and candles and develop your own trading strategies and stick to them. To do this you need the first part (discipline).

Do not start off practicing trading on real exchanges with real money. There are test exchanges with fake money. Start there first.

This all sounds way easier than it really is. It took me years to develop any kind of discipline and it has cost me a lot of money. I do not recommend going down the same road as me. Now I trade somewhat successfully for a (BTC) profit but I wish I took my time to learn first.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live casino over provably fair games. on: April 21, 2023, 06:50:13 AM
I don't know why but i mostly lose on provably fair, when  start betting then some times the graph stay green, after betting some more bets it become red and go straight down, draining my balance.

and in provably fair once we lose more then 10% of balance then, then we start to revenge gambling to recover our loses, while recovering we are unable to think by waiting some times, we think like my profit is only one click away, then clicking and clicking then increasing bet size and blowing account.
I know this case is not for everyone, but in gambling most of players comes on that phase! we can not control and wait and think to recover that loss tomorrow because we can profit in just a one mouse click.

while in live casino, like playing roulette there is 15sec gap in every spin, in that 15sec i can think something, or sizing bets and close my gambling session for that day.
and also live casino's dealer is front of me i can see we are cheated or not, but i don't know if they use rigged roulette or not.

As long as you hold yourself to good security standards and a certain amount of discipline, you will find that neither live casinos nor provably fair online games differ in any way. But then again you should also make sure that you are gambling on a reputable casino which has been around for a long time and has no active scam accusations against it. Furthermore, it should have a valid gambling license.

I think you may have created a bias against online gambling for yourself when you started losing and "revenge gambling" as you called it. Perhaps losing and then losing even more due to bad/rash decisions is the real problem here? Grin
1339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: April 21, 2023, 02:23:09 AM
Ordinarily, I don't like asking questions like this because I feel they're personal questions that should be answered by myself alone but it has been on my mind for a very long time and I have not gotten a solution for it.

I have a friend that works hard. He does two jobs and he makes a lot of money. Most of his money is in a savings bank account where he saves them. He doesn't have any use for it right now so the money is just sitting pretty in that account. Lately, I've been having the urge to advise him to buy Bitcoin with like 40% of his savings and HODL. Holding won't be an issue for him because he has the patience of an old man. He has left the savings in his account for over two years without touching it. Now imagine him transferring that energy to Bitcoin.

The problem is, someone has convinced him to buy altcoins before now, I think in late 2021 or thereabout. He bought three different altcoins for about $500 and now two out of the three coins he bought are worthless. one is worth about $0.045. The price ain't the issue, the issue is these coins are not like Bitcoin that will rise again.
I have explained all he needs to know about Bitcoin to him and he understands. He understands how Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme, the risk, and the patience involved.
He buys into the idea but I'm still having doubts. I don't want to look like a fraud when things don't work out. I mean, I can speculate about the market all I want, but I can't be sure what tomorrow brings.

So should I go ahead and advise him to buy Bitcoin or I should leave him to come to me himself? Because he will buy it if I ask him to.

I think that your friend will not be trusting of Bitcoin at this point. I doubt he will change his mind after losing his hard earned money. His experience with the shitcoins has probably left him very bitter towards any kind of cryptocurrency.

This is why Bitcoiners hate altcoins. Not only do they give cryptocurrency a bad image, they also ruin the Bitcoin experience for newbies before they have even had the chance of buying some BTC.

I think that if you try to push him, he will only push back harder. If you want to convince him then you should lead by example. Show him your profits and share your success stories with BTC.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does It takes time for market to be bull on: April 20, 2023, 11:24:04 PM
I have been wondering why does it take so much time for bitcoin price to bull and whenever it try's coming up it takes just some few hours or days to drop drastically or changes in percentage.
Does this means bitcoin can not maintain bull sign for about 7 months or 1 year straight up without having to change and show bear signs?
Can someone explain this to me i am curious to know, and if this question already ask please ref me topic to read so i can lock this?

Thank you.

What goes up must come down. And the same goes for things that go down. We cannot expect a cycle with no counter-cycle. Nobody has a magical power to see the future of how and when Bitcoin will go up or down. The price depends on how many Bitcoin are bought. The rest is speculation. We speculate on when, where, how and how much will be bought. But guessing and hoping are not good metrics for investment. We believe that Bitcoin will keep going up in the long term, due to understanding BTC's potential and its history since 2009.

The whales (people who own a lot of BTC) love to move the market back and forth, hoping to scare some people into selling them their BTC for a cheap price. Don't fall for it. Emotional trading will make you lose everything.

Entire countries are starting to adopt Bitcoin. The bull market is waking up.
